.

His entire life, it had always been about supreme powers. Since he was young, he looked up and saw his powerful father, the one who could make the earth trembled in his walks if he ever desire. His father's name was known far and wide, feared and respected throughout the Western Land. He was powerful, supreme to all.

Sesshomaru dreamed of nothing but to be like him.

Once his father fall, Sesshomaru set himself to become stronger. He had searched for the tool that would strengthen his power.

Power was his most desire, he always thought. At one time, he would've given anything to contend the ultimate power. To walked above everyone and be feared by all. To be the strongest without weakness.

Weakness like his father's. His father was strong until he fell in love with a human. A weak unless woman who caused his dismay.

In the end, his father's life was lost protecting a feeble woman and an incompetent half-demon infant.

Sesshomaru decided to never fall prey to emotions.

For a long time, he truly believed so; it had been sat in stone until she came along. Rin.

Slowly he realized that ultimate power was not measure by strength alone. He became strongest when protecting her.

And now when he held another life within his arms, so fragile yet so beautiful, he finally understood his father's feeling when he protected Inuyasha and his human. He too would do the same if anyone threatened his wife, Rin, and this infant child. His son smiled at him as if he was the world. The child that shared part of his blood that mixed with hers, the woman whom he held dear. This child was the evident of their united.

Never had he believe the day would come when he felt content holding a life, and not power. Never had he thought possible when a being other than himself was so important to him that he was willing to give anything to protect.

But Rin and his son were evident.

Never would he trade them for anything.

Because only when they were in his life die he felt complete.
