Now for some action. Songs for this chapter are Get Back by Pillar, Stand In The Rain by Superchick, Superhero by Simon Curtis, and In The End by Linkin Park. Leshyaedawnfire suggested Superhero by Simon Curtis: Thank you.

The LYOKO warriors were in bed, but they were awake. Sam, Kayla, and Yumi had gone home to keep up appearances, but were ready to sneak out at a moment's notice.

Eva looked over at the clock. It would soon be time to leave and walk to the hotel where the sidekicks were staying at. Eva got up and glanced out the window. She thought she saw something moving across the grounds. Eva also did not like the feeling she was getting about tonight. She reached for her mobile.

Kayla was startled by the sound of her mobile vibrating. "Hello?"

"I think we may have a problem," Eva said.

"What's wrong?" Kayla started pulling her boots on.

"I have a bad feeling about this," Eva replied.

Kayla sucked a breath through her teeth. When Eva started having bad feelings about something, chances were something bad was going to happen. "Did you wake the others yet?"

"That's what I'm about to do," said Eva.

Kayla heard a thump in the background.

"Hurry up and get here," said Eva. There was a sense of urgency in her voice. It didn't take a genius to know something was very wrong.

"I'll be right there with Bon Ami." Kayla hung up her mobile and slipped it in her pocket. "Come on, Bon Ami. We have work to do."

The dog was on his feet and following Kayla out the door without any further instruction.

The rest of the LYOKO warriors in the dorms were awake and had gathered in Jeremy's room. Eva kept looking out the window for any sign of trouble.

Ulrich hung up his mobile. "Yumi says she's on her way."

"Good," said Jeremy. "And Sam?"

"She just texted me and said she'll be here soon," Odd answered.

"Everyone remembers the escape route, right?" asked Jeremy.

"We remember," Sissi replied.

William let out a frustrated sigh. "The girls need to hurry up and get here."

Nicolas looked at Aelita. She was sitting down on the bed. "Aelita, are you okay?"

"I don't think so."

This had the attention of everyone in the room.

"What's wrong?" asked Odd.

"I feel worse than earlier," Aelita replied. "I want to go back to bed."

"Not yet, Princess," Odd said with a smile. "It'll be okay. When this is all over with, we'll let you sleep for a week, no matter what Jim says."

Eva turned back to the window. "Get ready."

At the hotel where the Team was staying, Conner heard the sounds of running feet at the Kadic Academy. They weren't the feet of teenagers, but of grown men.

"Something's happening at the school," Conner told Kaldur.

"Then we must hurry," said Kaldur.

The others stayed up in Jeremy's room while Eva went downstairs to see what was happening on the school grounds. Her hand was behind her back, fingers curled around the handle of her hunting knife.

Eva took out her mobile and dialed Jeremy's number. "Jeremy, I can't tell how many there are. We need the sidekicks here as soon as possible."

"I don't have their numbers," Jeremy said. "And that's not our only problem."

"What happened?" asked Eva.

"Aelita's sick," Jeremy replied. "She threw up not too long ago."

Eva quietly sighed in frustration. "Not much we can do about that. We need to get her somewhere safe."

"The Hermitage?"

"I don't know," responded Eva. There was silence on both ends of the line. "I rather take her to the factory, but the Hermitage is closer. Do you think the men in black will be there?"

"Probably," replied Jeremy. "But right now it's our best option. The men in black will be searching the school soon enough. We'll take the boiler room passage and we'll meet you at the Hermitage."

"Who's all going?"

"Herb, Sissi, Nicolas, Odd, and myself," Jeremy replied.

"Someone has to wake up Jim," said Eva.

"And probably the principal. Sissi can do that," said Jeremy.

"Good, I'll meet you there."

Eva hung up her mobile and was about to put it in her pocket when she was struck over the head. She fell to the ground, her mobile sliding away from her. Years of abuse and fighting told her to get back on her feet and defend herself. She whirled around in a crouching position and saw a man in a black suit. It was time to defend her family.

Jeremy and Herb walked on either side of Aelita as the group made their way to the boiler room. Sissi had already gone ahead to get Jim and her father. Ulrich and William were going to hang back at the school until the rest of the girls arrived.

Aelita stumbled and Herb and Jeremy caught her.

"I'm fine," Aelita moaned.

Nicolas stooped down in front of her. "Get on my back," he told her.

Aelita climbed on Nicolas' back and they continued down to the boiler room.

Yumi and Sam met up a block away. They were about the turn the corner to the main gate when they saw several black cars parked outside.

"Guess we're not getting in that way," said Yumi. "Let's try to get in through the sewer entrance."

A rumble of thunder echoed in the air.

"Like we need bad weather yet," Sam muttered. A few drops landed on her head before it started pouring. "Let's go!"

Eva flipped around and kicked the man in black she was fighting in the ribs. The wind was knocked out of him. She cartwheeled on one hand and kicked him in the face with both feet. The man's glasses flew off his face and he dropped to the ground.

Eva walked over and picked his pockets. He had a gun in his hip holster. Eva checked the bullets and slipped it in the back of her waistband, using her shirt to hide it. She retrieved her mobile from a puddle.

"Great," she muttered, seeing that it was completely shorted out. Chances were she wouldn't be able to open the door to the boiler room passage. Either way, she had to get to the others.

Eva ran for the boiler room passage.

"Eva! Where are you going?" Jim called to her as she entered the school. "What's going on?"

"Didn't Sissi tell you? The men in black are back and are trying to get Aelita," Eva replied.

"That's what she said. I thought you said this was going to be over."

"I didn't know they would come after us now!" Eva sighed. "I shouldn't say that. We knew we were taking a risk when we put that music video out. Do what you can here. Were the police called?"

"Mr. Delmas called them," said Jim. "They'll be here soon."

"Then us warriors better get out of here," said Eva.

"Go," said Jim. "I'll cover for you."

Eva nodded. She turned on her heel and continued on inside. She found Ulrich, William, and Sissi at the door to the boiler room.

"Where are the girls?" asked Eva.

"Yumi and Sam had to take another way around and I haven't heard anything from Kayla," answered William.

"They should be here soon," said Eva. "The police have already been called. It won't take long for them to get here."

"What about the other students?" asked Sissi.

"They're after us," said Ulrich. "I don't think they'll go after them."

"Let's go," said William.

They went downstairs and found Kayla waiting for them.

"There you are," said William. "We were getting worried."

"Sorry about that," said Kayla. "I was following the others, but they locked the door behind them."

Eva pulled the gun she stole out and pointed it at Kayla.

"Eva, what are you doing?" yelled William.

"That's not Kayla!" Eva said. "I don't know who that is for sure, but that is not Kayla."

"She's right," said Ulrich. "The real Kayla would know how to unlock the door."

"And the real Kayla said she was bringing Bon Ami with her," Eva added. She pulled the hammer back on the gun. "I'll only ask once: Who are you?"

William, Ulrich, and Sissi move behind Eva. They stared at the Kayla imposter.

She sighed. "Okay," she said. She morphed to reveal her green skin, red hair, and black, red, and blue outfit. "I'm Miss Martian."

Eva put the gun back in her waistband. "I figured it was you, but I couldn't be sure."

Miss Martian frowned.

"Don't think for one minute we didn't know about you," said Eva.

"We made the video for the Justice League to send help," said Ulrich. "We just didn't know what form it was coming in."

Miss Martian nodded. "Okay, I need to get you out of here. I was really trying to follow the others."

"Ulrich, the door," said Eva.

Ulrich stepped forward and held his mobile up to the door. It tripped the sensor and the door unlocked.

William's mobile rang. "Kayla?"

"Where are you? I've been trying to call Eva."

"Eva, what happened to your mobile?" William asked.

"It got wet," Eva replied. "Is that Kayla?"

William nodded. "Where are you?" he asked Kayla.

"At the edge of the forest," Kayla replied. "I have Bon Ami with me."

"We're getting ready to go into the sewers," said William. "Can you carry Bon Ami?"

"I think I can," said Kayla.

"Meet us at the Hermitage," said William.

"Let's go," said Eva.

William, Ulrich, and Sissi went down the passage first.

Eva turned to Miss Martian. "What are you and the others going to do?"

"We're going to get you someplace safe," said Miss Martian. "And then we're going to take computer program."

Eva stiffened. "Take the computer program?"

"Isn't that why you called us?" asked Miss Martian.

"We'll talk about this later," said Eva. "I'm needed with them. If you and the others can help the students here, it would be helpful."

"We can do that," Miss Martian said with a nod.

Eva gave a nod of her own and disappeared into the passage.

The four of them ran down the sewers and collided with something. Eva, who was bringing up the rear, got ready to fight.

"Ow," moaned Sam.

"Yumi? Sam?" questioned William.

"Get off me!" Ulrich groaned.

Eva and William helped the four others to their feet.

"We were getting worried," said Ulrich.

"We had to go around," said Sam. "They have the school surrounded."

"The others are at the Hermitage already," said William. "Kayla's on her way with Bon Ami."

"What about the sidekicks?" asked Yumi.

"Already here," said Ulrich. "Eva almost shot Miss Martian for impersonating Kayla."

"What?" Yumi cried.

"Instead of thinking about what I almost did, let's get to the Hermitage," said Eva. "The sidekicks will take care of the men in black at school."

They ran to the Hermitage. By now it was raining hard. The six of them crossed the yard and into the basement. The lights in the Hermitage were off.

"Franz, it's us!" William called out.

A flashlight turned on and the six of them had to cover their eyes.

"Odd, turn that light off!" snapped Nicolas.

The light was lowered.

"Hi, guys," Odd said with a smile. "How's it going?"

"It would be better if we weren't being chased," said Sam.

Eva walked over to Nicolas. "What have I missed?"

"Aelita's upstairs with Franz, Antea, and the others," said Nicolas. "She's really sick."

Eva sighed. "We're going to have to take care of this quick." She turned to the window. She made a sound in her throat.

"What?" Ulrich asked.

They looked out the window and saw several dark forms walking to the Hermitage.

"We have a problem," said William.

"How did they find us?" Yumi asked. "We came through the sewers."

"They must have tracked us more than any of us first thought," said Eva.

They began moving furniture to block the doors. Odd went upstairs to tell the others to lock themselves in Aelita's room.

"Are you ready?" Eva asked everyone.

They nodded.

"Let's do this," Eva said.

It was not long before the front door was being beaten on. Eva and William held the sofa up against the door with all their strength.

Yumi and Ulrich were in the basement guarding that door.

Upstairs, Antea hugged Aelita.

"Mommy, I'm scared," said Aelita.

"Don't worry, Aelita," said Jeremy. "We're here to protect you."

Kayla and Bon Ami ran through the woods. They found the school surrounded completely and there were sounds of a fight going on. They turned around and went back to go through the woods leading to the Hermitage. They were almost at the Hermitage when Bon Ami started growling.

"What is it?" Kayla asked. She looked ahead and saw the men in black. "Never mind."

Bon Ami ran forward to attack the men in black.

"Bon Ami!" Kayla hissed after him.

Eva and William were forcing the sofa against the door with all their strength. They saw Odd, Jeremy, and Nicolas run down the stairs. Nicolas went to Eva and William and pushed his weight against the sofa to help hold the door shut.

"Thought you could use the extra muscle," said Nicolas.

"That actually gives me an idea," said Jeremy.

Jeremy and Odd ran down to the basement. Jeremy returned a minute later holding a metal bracelet with a dark blue stone of some sort.

"Franz made these," said Jeremy. "The LYOKO bands can give you the abilities of someone possessed by a specter. This one's yours, Eva. I figured you can use it."

"Jeremy, you're a genius," said Eva.

They heard the sounds of a dog snarling and a man yelling. There were several gunshots.

Eva activated the LYOKO band. She felt energized and able to do anything. Eva ran to the window. Bon Ami was running for cover. Eva opened the window and jumped out. She attacked the men at the door with her knife and her new strength, angry that they were attacking her family and her dog.

Kayla joined in the fight. She could see Eva on the porch fighting like she was on LYOKO. She hoped the sidekicks could get to them soon.

Kayla held her own against the men in black. She used precise strikes to take the men out with little effort, her medical knowledge harming instead of helping. Bon Ami came out of hiding and went after anyone who came close enough to Kayla for his liking.

A yellow and red blur came out of the trees and knocked the men in black on the porch several yards back. Eva stood there in shock for a minute.

There was a cackle and Robin tied up a few of them.

Superboy walked into the clearing. The men in black turned to him and fired their guns. Miss Martian telekinetically threw them to the ground.

Artemis fired a trick arrow.

Aqualad used his water whips to disarm two men in black.

"Kayla!" yelled William.

Kayla turned to see a man pointing a gun at her.

BANG!

Kayla gasped.

There was a heavy thud on the ground.

Kayla continued to stand where she in shock. The man in black who had tried to shoot her was crumpled on the ground with a gunshot wound. She slowly turned to where the gunshot had sounded from, everyone else already looking in that direction.

Eva was still on the porch with the gun in her hand.

Kayla ran to Eva, Bon Ami limping behind her.

Eva put the gun down and hugged her sister. "Are you okay?"

"Me? What about you?" Kayla cried. "How did you do that?"

Bon Ami butted Eva's leg gently. She bent down and picked him up.

Robin was kneeling over the man Eva shot. "He'll live," he told everyone.

Kayla was fussing over Eva. "Are you hurt?"

"I'm fine," said Eva, brushing Kayla's hand away. She deactivated the LYOKO band.

Franz came out with the other LYOKO warriors. The only ones not there were Antea and Aelita. William hugged Kayla and Nicolas checked on Eva. She waved him away and faced the sidekicks.

Robin turned to Franz. "Waldo Schaeffer?"

Jeremy looked at Franz. Franz put a hand on Jeremy's shoulder before stepping off the porch and into the rain.

"Yes," said Franz.

"We're here for the program," said Robin.

Franz stiffened.

Eva looked at Franz. "Whatever you choose, I'll support it."

Franz turned around to the other warriors. They all nodded. Franz turned back to the sidekicks. "What is going to happen to it?"

"We're not sure," said Robin. "All we were told was to find it. It's a computer program. I can download it and take it back to the League."

"That's not what I meant," said Franz. "What will be done with it?"

"Does it really matter?" asked Superboy.

Eva glared at Superboy. "Yes, it does."

"It could be used to help others," said Robin.

"It gave you superpowers!" Kid Flash said excitedly. "You all saw how Eva moved!"

"It can be extremely dangerous if it fell into the wrong hands," Aqualad said. "From what we could glean from the clues we were given throughout the week, this LYOKO can be used to destroy the world."

Franz looked down.

"Dr. Schaeffer?" said Aqualad. "We need to know."

The warriors looked at each other. They were beginning to worry about being wrong about calling the sidekicks. Kid Flash was too eager about the fact they had powers from LYOKO. And Robin was treating this as a computer program. Didn't they understand LYOKO wasn't something to be taken lightly?

Franz was quiet for a moment. "It is not that simple. I want my family safe. The men in black will pursue us until they get what they want. At the same time, I worry for the world. LYOKO isn't a simple computer program someone can turn on and off. It used to house a powerful artificial intelligence that tried to take over the world at one point. I fear someone will be able to do the same thing."

"And you are unsure of what to do," Aqualad said.

"The children were kind enough to give my family a chance for a normal life," said Franz.

"But what is to stop the men in black for coming after you?" asked Artemis.

"That's a good question," said Odd.

Ulrich jabbed him in the ribs to get him to be quiet.

"She's right," said Franz. "Even if I handed over LYOKO, they could still come after me to create a new one. It was something we did not discuss in our plans."

"If we lose LYOKO and they come after us again, we don't exactly have a backup plan," said Jeremy.

Robin smirked. "I think we can work around this." He looked up at Aqualad.

"Yes, I believe we can," said Aqualad.

The next morning, the sidekicks and the LYOKO warriors met in the gymnasium.

"Thank you for helping us," Aelita said to them.

"Yeah, you sidekicks are cool," said Odd.

Conner glared. "Don't call us sidekicks."

Odd put his hands up. "It's cool!"

"We prefer protégés," said Robin.

"I like the sound of that," said William.

"What's going to happen now?" asked Jeremy.

"We'll tell Batman what happened," said Robin. "He'll have to know. After that, it's a matter of hacking the right computers and erasing LYOKO and all the projects Aelita's father was connected to."

"If you do that, you would have accomplished what Jeremy and I couldn't," said Herb.

Artemis turned to Aelita. "You'll be safe."

Aelita smiled.

Jeremy put his arm around her shoulders.

"Sorry for calling you guys out here for nothing," said Sam.

"I wouldn't say you called us out here for nothing," said Wally.

"It was very educational," said Megan.

Kal stepped in front of Eva. He held out his hand. "Thank you for being my tutor this week. The experience is not one I will forget."

Eva shook his hand. "I won't forget it either. Not many of my students have eel tattoos."

Kal smiled. "I hope we can meet again under better circumstances. You and your friends are good company. It is not often we meet others like us."

"We're not protégés to the heroes of the world," said Eva.

"No, you are heroes," said Kal. "You are our peers and you have already saved the world multiple times from what we understand. We see you as role models. It will make the Team work that much harder to be great heroes."

Eva gave a small smile and a nod.

Kal stepped back and Robin took his place. "You know how to be whelmed. You just took those guys down with no mercy."

"These guys are my family, Robin," Eva said. "No one threatens my family. They know what I will do to protect them."

"And what is that?" asked Robin.

Her dark eyes told Robin what he needed to know, but Eva verbally confirmed it. "Anything."

A smile crossed Robin's face, but behind his sunglasses he was concerned. Eva showed no emotion when she shot the man in black last night.

"You're worried," Eva said. "You think I might do something I would regret."

Robin was surprised she could read him that well. "A little. I've seen people who have done terrible things to help someone."

Eva leaned down to whisper in Robin's ear. "Sometimes it's what you don't do that you regret, Dick," she whispered.

Robin's eyes widened behind his glasses.

Eva straightened up. "You're not the only smart guy in the room," she said with a smile. She gave a small wink.

They said their final good-byes and the protégés left.

"So in the end it doesn't even matter," said Herb.

"No," said Jeremy. "We made some new friends."

So LYOKO is staying with the LYOKO warriors. At least they have the men in black off their backs, hopefully for good. Tell me what you think about the chapter. I wasn't sure if I was just going to have a cliff-hanger after the gun went off and make you wait a week to see what happened. I'm not that evil and I already got reviews for doing something like that with Eva in a previous story. I'm still taking ideas for songs for the playlist. What have you thought about the playlist so far? I'm trying to get a variety of songs some readers have never heard before and hope they like them. People have already sent me some suggestions for songs and I am finding that I actually like some of these bands I never heard of.
