Chapter Eleven
People were scattering around, running for their life as the Gedoushu approaches them with Nanashi.
"Now, which one shall I attack," the Gedoushu aims his tentacles at the peoples and was about to attack the woman carrying her children to safely when he got slashes from behind by Takeru's weapon, the Rekka Daizantou.
The Gedoushu tumbles forward to the ground, but quickly got up and glares at Takeru. "Shinken red, how dare you interfere!" he growls. "I'll teach not to mess with me!" He releases his tentacles toward Takeru, but it got block by Genta, who slashes the tentacles into bits.
"Is that all you got?" Genta asked as he stood beside Takeru.
"I got plenty more up my sleeves than you imagine," the Gedoushu sneered.
"Bring it!"
"Let's see you dodge this!" The Gedoushu releases two energy beams at Genta and Takeru.
Swiftly, Takeru manages to block both energy beams with the Rekka Daizantou, but the force from both energy beams knocks him and Genta flying backward to the ground.
"TONO! GENTA!"
"Tono-sama! Genta!"
"Takeru! Genta!"
Ryuunosuke, Kotoha, and Chiaki finish off the Nanashi and rush over to Genta and Takeru.
They help Genta and Takeru get off the ground when a tentacle grabs Kotoha by the throat, lifting her up in the air.
"Kotoha!" Chiaki runs forward to save her, but got blast in the chest by the Gedoushu's energy beam.
"Impossible I thought I destroy his tentacles!" Genta exclaimed.
"It must have grown back or it has some more tentacles that we don't see," Ryuunosuke assumed before he lunges forward to attack the Gedoushu.
Niki was sleeping in Mako's room after she was exhausted from playing ball with the Kurkos.
Mako was pacing around alone, worrying and feeling uneasy about Takeru and the others. She was mentally yelling at herself about why she has to stay behind. Despite her injury, she would rather be with the others, fighting then staying back at the Shiba Mansion worrying for them.
Is this how Ji felt when they left for battle? She sighs knowing that she was feeling what Ji felt everything they left for battle. Speaking of Ji, she looked around and wonders where he has gone off too. Last time she remembers was that he took Rena to go see Mayu.
"Maybe I should check on Mayu," She thought. Mayu, as that name just occur to her, she can't help but wonders how she was. Earlier, she heard from Ryuunosuke and Chiaki that Mayu's condition wasn't good. Curious, she was about to walked to the infirmary room when suddenly two kurkos ran passed by her with a bucket of water and a towel. They were heading to the infirmary room in a hurry.
Something must have happen to Mayu. Quickly, Mako follows the two kurkos. When she arrives to the infirmary room, she saw Rena and Ji were there trying to calm Mayu down. One of the kurkos damps the towel with water from the bucket and placed it on Mayu's head.
"Is she alright," she asked out loud and Ji and Rena looked up at her.
"She has a high fever than before," Ji answered and Mako kneels down in front of Mayu, touching her shoulder. "She looks just like me". She muttered as she stares at Mayu's pale face.
"I think we should take her to the hospital," Rena suggests. "Her fever is not calming down and it's really making me worried".
"It's not the best idea to take Mayu to the hospital; because it packs with lot of patients who is in the same situation like her". Ji pointed out.
Rena sighs and left the room. Mako, who saw Rena left out the room, senses something was bothering her. She turned back to Ji. "I'm going go talk to Rena",
Ji nodded and Mako left out the room. Outside the infirmary, she saw Rena was about to go outside.
"Rena, wait!"
"Mako?" Rena turned to Mako, who was walking up to her.
"Are you okay?"
Rena shook her head. "No, I'm worried about Mayu".
"Mayu is going to be okay," Mako touches Rena's shoulder.
"How can you be so sure?" Rena felt herself tears up. "I don't know what to do if Mayu is gone. How am I supposed to explain this to her brother and mother? After all, I was her nanny since she was a baby. It's my responsibility to take care of her and watch her, but I fail," She stares down at her hands that were trembling.
Seeing Rena sad, Mako can't help it, but feel sad also. Without thinking, she touches Rena's hands and gently squeezes it.
"Mayu will make it. She's a fighter so you must believe in her," She reassured.
Rena nodded and smiles a little, believing that Mako was right.
Ji, who saw and heard everything, quietly walked over to them. "Mayu's fever has calms down for now," he told them.
Mako let go of Rena and looked over at Ji. She was relieved to hear that Mayu's fewer has calm down.
Rena left to the infirmary to see Mayu, leaving Mako alone with Ji.
Mako turned to Ji. "Have you heard from the others? Are they alright?" Did they..." she continues to question when Ji placed a hand on her shoulder, stopping her.
"Mako, don't worry, they will be okay and will come back safely." He assured her.
Knowing that Ji is right, Mako slightly smiles. Still, she can't help, but worried. "I'm going to go outside for fresh air". She told him before she left.
Once she was outside, Mako looked around; making sure no one was following her.
"Sorry Ji," She muttered before she took off toward the gate, ignore the pain from her injury.
"IPPITSU SOUJOU!"
Kotoha was trying to break free from the tentacles, but was unable to. Each time she struggle, the tentacles grip becomes more tighter, making it difficult to breath,
She can feel her energy being drain.
Genta and Ryuunosuke are both on the ground, hurt from the attack because they were trying to save Kotoha. Only Chiaki and Takeru were still standing.
"Make a move and Shinken yellow is history," the Gedoushu laughed.
"We can't risk it, Takeru," Chiaki stares Takeru, who was staring ahead at the Gedoushu.
"What is it going to be? Destroy me along with the Shinken yellow?"
Takeru tighten his grips on the Rekka Daizantou's handle, refusing to back down, but at the same time worried about Kotoha's safely.
Deciding with his decision, Takeru was to lower the Rekka Daizantou when out of nowhere a powerful wind strikes the Gedoushu, sending him tumbling backward.
Seeing an opportunity to save Kotoha, Takeru charges forward and slashes the tentacles, releasing Kotoha, who fell down toward the ground. Lucky, Chiaki caught her in time before she hit the ground.
"Kotoha, are you alright?" Chiaki asked as he helps her up.
Kotoha nods "I'm fine, thanks".
Takeru looked over to see Mako running over to him.
"I thought I told you stay behind," he said, sounding a bit angry that she disobeys his orders.
"Let's defeat the Gedoushu first and then you can be angry at me," She suggested.
Takeru nodded and both of them ran forward toward the Gedoushu. They combine their power together and blast at the Gedoushu at the same time. The impact sends the Gedoushu flying backward.
Genta, Kotoha, Chiaki, and Ryuunosuke ran over to them.
"Chiaki," Takeru turned to him.
"Okay," Chiaki nodded and gave him the beetle disk.
"REKKA DAIZANTOU, OOZUTSU MOVE!"
Everyone place their disk in the slot of the Rekka Daizantou. Then together, they finish off the Gedoushu.
"We did it!" Chiaki beamed.
"Don't let your guard down just yet," Takeru warned the others when Geodoushu appears into a giant.
Everyone was about to go defeats the Gedoushu when Takeru notices Mako and remember that she was still injury and hurt.
"Genta, can you finish the Gedoushu off?" He turned and looked at his best friend.
Genta nodded and pats his chest. "Leave it to me," He said before he summons Ebizou and then leaps into it.
It didn't take long before Genta defeated the Gedoushu. After that everyone head back to the Shiba Mansion.
"TONO!" Ji ran out and greets Takeru and the others. "Everyone that has been attacks by the Gedoushu are back to normal," he informed them.
"Alright!" Chiaki cheered
Takeru nodded and walked up to Ji. "Ji, can you take Mako inside and take looked at her injury".
Ji notices Mako was standing behind Takeru next to Kotoha. "Tono, I apologize for not keeping an eye on her".
"Don't worry about it," Takeru said before he left inside.
Ji then walked over to Mako and helps her inside.
"How's Mayu?" Mako found herself asking. "Is she awake yet?"
"She's fine, but let's takes a look at your injury that you have. Then you can go see her if you like".
Mako nodded and let Ji and Kotoha guide her inside while the others follow behind.
Mayu slowly open her eyes and notices that she was in the infirmary. She was confused and didn't know how she got here. Last thing, she remembers was saving Takeru and the others.
"Takeru!" She sat up all sudden, but soon regrets it when she felt dizzy and weak. She nearly tumbles backward when someone caught her. Her eyes widen when she looked up and saw that it was Rena caught her.
"Rena," She softly said.
"Mayu," Rena cried and gently wrapped her arms around Mayu "I was scared and thought I lost you",
"Rena," Mayu slowly smiles and touches Rena's arm, making sure she was really there and that she wasn't seeing thing. "How is that you are here?"
"Thanks to Mako that I found you here"
"Mako?" Mayu blinks her eyes. "That's right, Mako, the girl who look exactly like me".
"I'm glad you are here, Rena. I miss you". She wanted to hug Rena, but she was too weak to move.
"I hope I'm not interrupting," she heard her own voice said and looked up to see Mako entering the room.
"You must be Mako," she said in shocked to see the woman who looks exactly like her.
Mako nodded with a small smile and kneels down beside Mayu. "Lay back down, you need some rest because you have just recovered from the poison in your system.". She helps Mayu lay down.
"I can't believe you looked exactly like me," Mayu said slowly.
"I can't believe it either," Mako agreed, slightly chuckled.
"Where's Takeru? He's okay, isn't he?" Mayu questioned and Mako looked at her with surprised look.
"He's okay, don't worry. Just rest," Mako gently squeezes Mayu's hand. Mayu nodded and went back to sleep.
Mako then got up and left out the room
Mako was standing in the hallway with her back leaning against the door. She was wonders how close Takeru and Mayu has been since she was gone. Could it be that Mayu has developed feeling for him?"
She was busy in her own thoughts that she didn't notices Takeru walked up to her.
"Mako?" She slightly jumps to sound of his voice and turned to him. "We need to talk".
Mako nodded and follows Takeru to the main room. She notices nobody was there except for her and Takeru.
"What do you want to talk about?"
With his back turn to her, Takeru spokes. "Why did you disobey my orders?" he asked in his serious tone.
"Because I just can't stay here and not do anything to help". She folds her arms and stares at him.
"But it was order from me as your leader," He turned around, facing her. "I order you to stay behind and I mean it," he folds his arms. "Instead, you went behind Ji's back and sneak out".
Mako turned away from him. "So, you expect me to stay here while you and others out there fighting," She unfolds her arms and continue "and follows your orders".
"Yes," Takeru answered with no hesitation and Mako angrily turned around.
"Well, I can't do that! In case you haven't forgotten, you and others were in a tight situation with that Gedoushu," she pointed out.
Takeru looked away. "Last time, I check you were injured from your last encounter with that Gedoushu," he argued back. "You could have gotten hurt in the battle earlier".
"Well I'm okay, aren't I?" She slightly glances back at him at the same time he does, but immediately looked away.
"No, not when you are limping from your previous battle," He pointed out.
"But I..." she begins to said, but he interrupted.
"I already made my decision, you will not go out in battle until your injuries are healed and that's an order," he sternly said.
"I'll still join you in battle whether you like it or not!" She protested. "What if you were in my position, would follows order or disobey them to help your comrades?"
Their backs were facing each others. Neither of them was backing down from the argument.
"Fine, just do what you want!" He turned around a minute later and glares at her.
"Fine, I will!" Mako also turned around and glares at him.
Without saying another word, Takeru and Mako both walked away in the opposite direction.
Chiaki and Kotoha came out from their hiding place.
"Man, I can't believe they're fighting!" Chiaki exclaimed as he scratches the back of his head. "If you ask me, they are both stubborn".
"Chiaki!" Kotoha gently hit in the arm. "I should go talk to her.
Chiaki nodded and placed his hand on her shoulder. "Go ahead," he ushered her. "I'll see if I can talk to Takeru or maybe get Genta to talk to him since they are best friend".
"Okay," Kotoha left to go see Mako while Chiaki went to see Genta and Takeru.
