Epilogue

In the Land of Ooo and the Candy Kingdom, all was well and good once again after the fanciful fiasco with the magical genie was concluded. A week had passed after the return of the kingdom's triumphant hero Finn and things couldn't have been better... especially with two human hero's on duty.

What they had hoped for as a simple and immediate return to Aaa turned into quite another ordeal. After hearing how Marshall Lee's mother was the one who provided the means of magical transport, it only stood to reason that Marceline's dad may have the same magical artifact. It turned out that Mr. Abadeer had no such mirror or any dimensional transportation item in the Nightosphere.

So that left the group of heroes back to square one. Not that it was a terrible thing having double the bodies in the kingdom to run missions and adventure. Between research, adventures and the gazillion questions Princess Bubblegum had for the group, the time flew by in an instance. The pink princess couldn't hear enough about the parallel world of Ooo, so similar, yet so differ from their own. With the crisis over, the prospect of infinite possibilities truly sparked her imagination. Sadly their time was not infinite and she also had her own part in solving the dimension pathway herself.

It all led up to today, when Princess Bubblegum burst into Finn and Jake's tree house to delightedly announce to everyone that she'd solved the dimensional puzzle. She found the adventurers sitting on and around the couch, recounting the BMO their latest and greatest exploit. Finn and Jake proudly wearing their battle wounds and a healthy amount of sludge and mud on their bodies and clothing. Their state of mess compared nothing to the head to toe grim that Fionna, Cake and Marshall Lee proudly wore... well maybe not so much the vampire who was currently working at cleaning himself off.

"What on Mars happened to you?" the Princess inquired, momentarily forgetting her original purpose.

"Cave Troll," the group all responded with varying degrees of eagerness or resentment.

"Of course. Good job, I'm sure." She congratulated before getting down to business, "Anyway, I've come personally to let you know I've found a way to get Fionna and everyone back to their own world."

"Really?" Fionna jumped up.

"Rock on," Marshall Lee hummed, slinging a wad of dried dirt at the wall.

"Sweet babies," Cake purred while starting the task of cleaning herself.

"Awwww," a bemoaning whine instead came from the resident adventurers.

"It'll be sad without Fionna, Cake and Marshall Lee here," BMO resonated.

"Aw, I know guys. We'll miss you too, but we need to get home," Fionna patted the game system on the top of his squared head. Marshall Lee quickly floated to away to gather up his axe bass for the return trip, "Yeah, who knows what Gumwad's done to the kingdom without us to put out the fires."

Fionna snorted at the unkind nickname before thinking the words, "Y'all don't think he really burnt the kingdom down."

Slience filled the air.

"Perhaps you should make haste to my lab," Princess Bubblegum implored.

Soon Finn and Jake, Fionna and Cake, and of course Marshall Lee gathered in the impressive laboratory of Princess Bubblegum. She happily and readily explained to the group how through perseverance and science she cracked the alternate dimensional code and found the key to returning the wayward travelers back to Aaa. Holding up an elaborate mechanical glove with a crystalline disc in the palm the pink princess wrapped up her technical speech with the inevitable disclaimer, "Unfortunately, this is only a one shot, one way trip. Naturally, Fionna, Cake and Marsall Lee possess sort of a gravitational pull towards their own dimension. Vis versa if we were in their realm, than Ooo would exert the same pull on our selves. Using their DNA I was able to locate and open a wormhole back to their world of origin, however once they are returned I won't be able to repeat the gate."

Forlorn, disappointed frowns watched the princess.

The princess sighed with slight smirk, "While improbable, it wouldn't be impossible for me to expand upon my research to one day find a permanent link between our worlds..."

"And?" Cake and Jake sensing the lead up, prompted.

"And, Marshall Lee said he used magic to breech the dimensions much more easily than science does. I'm sure if you wanted, you could cross our worlds again."

"Grammatical!" Fionna cheered and Finn followed up, "Algebraic!"

"Well it's been mad fun," Fionna turned to her counterpart with her hand outstretched for a friendly handshake. Hesitantly, not quite feeling the sentiment, Finn took her hand to return.

"Hey now, none of that," disappointed, Jake scolded the teens. With a quick loop of his stretching limbs, the yellow dog wrapped the two humans, cat and vampire into the largest of bear hugs possible. Laughter and mumbled protest filled the laboratory until the Princess charged up her inter-dimensional glove.

On a nearby wall she pointed the crystal ray of orange and light, revealing a mirror like image of the room. On the other side, Prince Gumball and his cooking lab revealed itself. The startled Prince glanced up from his work to see the mirror appear on his kitchen wall revealing the pleased images of his lost heroines and vampiric troublemaker.

"Math," Finn breathed, amazed by his first glimpse of their parallel world.

"Thanks Princess!" Fionna beamed, "You're the best!"

"It's been real," Cake nodded to Jake and Finn, "Thanks for everything."

"No problem Fi, Cake, ML." Finn blushed to the girls. They paid him no mind other than geniune thanks, but Marshall Lee did sigh out a little disgruntled grunt. He instead turned to the genius behind their return, "Thanks Pink. Say bye to your better half for us."

The Princess raised an eyebrow in question, certain of whom the vampire meant but not sure how the female vampire was the better half of the candy ruler.

Abruptly Fionna grasped on to Marshall Lee's cold hand, causing a rosey blush to form on his greyed undead cheeks. With a deft leap, Cake leapt onto her human sister's shoulders as the adventurous laughed and gleefully pulled them all through the portal.

"See you around Finn! Jake!"

And with that, the portal immediately closed upon itself. The adventure of Ooo and Aaa's first meeting finally come to a close.

Somewhere in the Turtle Kingdom within the aisles of the great library, Turtle Prince was cleaning some of the less perused volumes. The amphibian princess reached up high with his duster only to knock off a book from the very highest shelf. Startled by the fallen tome, the TP squinted down to see the book was actually a cleverly disguised box. Within he found an ornate bottle of mysterious design and origin; and he swore from within he could hear maniacal laughter.
