After she passed through the Senkaimon, all Emily could think about was Shinji. She regretted leaving, but it was for the best. As a Senkai, she had to watch over Sereitei and make sure the shinigamis were all strong and ready for battle. Especially since she knew about Aizen. The ultimate goal was to reveal his true face, but neither Senkai hoped to achieve that.
The woman was rather disappointed when she found out she wasn't in the same division as her brothers. It made her feel incredibly lonely. Adrian sighed and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "I know it's tough, Onee-san, but bear with it. I promise it won't be that bad."
Emily smiled. "I know, but I'm still gonna miss him."
Andrew rolled his eyes. "We're going out tonight with a few others. You should come and meet them. It'll keep your mind busy."
Emily nodded. "Come get me on your way."
"It's gonna be around 10 o'clock."
The woman watched as her brothers left, then knocked on the door of the 9th Division's Taicho's office. "Come in." The friendly voice of the man inside made her feel a little better. She opened the door and scanned her Taicho, the first thought being how he could do paperwork while he was blind. Then she realized that she knew him. 'Tousen...' Shinji had eventually told her everything about how they had turned into Visoreds. She bowed, warily scanning him and overall ignoring the young Vice-Captain. She introduced herself, expecting him to betray his lnowledge, but he didn't. He gave her a small smile and introduced the Fukutaicho, whom he sent with her to show her around. "Do you need help with your stuff?" he asked as soon as they were alone, scanning her. 'That's a pretty nice body she got there, isn't it?' Kazeshini asked.
Hissagi kept his poker face. 'Yes. Your point?'
The zanpakutou started laughing. 'You should try to hit that ass.'
Emily shifted uncomfortably under his gaze. "No. My brothers already provided everything I need." she stated. 'That look in his eyes... I don't like it.' Ying declared. Emily silently agreed.
Hissagi gave her a rather formal tour of the barracks then briefly described her duties. She nodded and remembered everything. "Well, I guess that's about it." he stated in the end. "Do you want me to accompany you back to your room?"
She shrugged noncomitantly. "Yeah, I'm kinda lost, but let me lead the way and correct me if I go wrong."
He nodded. 'Seems fair.'
The trip back was uneventful. Getting bored by the silence, Emily decided to break it and make some small talk, to which he caught on and continued. As they got to her room, Emily chuckled as he finished telling her about the New Year's party. Her brothers were in front of her door, Andrew frowning lightly as he saw the two. Emily smiled and took her place between them. "Sorry I was late. We got lost because of someone."
Hissagi raised his hands defensibly. "Hey, this place is a labirinth. And, besides, you were keeping me distracted."
Emily rolled her eyes. "I chose the right way and you corrected me wrong, Fukutaicho."
Andrew chuckled. Adrian snaked his arm around his sister's waist and pushed her forward. "Let's go. We are late anyway."
Emily opposed him. "No way I can go like this! I need to arrange myself."
Andrew went in front of her and pretended to spit in his hands. She stepped backwards, horrified. "Andrew!" she yelled. He chuckled and arranged her a little, rolling his eyes. They left immediately afterwards, Hissagi trailing along. Emily was between her brothers and he was next to Andrew, who was chatting animatedly. They soon arrived at a bar and the twins introduced Emily to the various people there. She stood down next to Matsumoto, whose breasts got her attention. 'They're like twice as big as mines...' She thought with envy. Andrew, who had yet to sit down, leaned in to whisper in her ear. "Don't be envious. I bet he likes your body just the way it is."
Emily frowned. "Bigger is always better."
Andrew stood down next to her. "No, there is something called the perfect size. Bigger is bad. Smaller is also bad."
Emily blushed lightly. Before she could reply anything, Adrian had pushed his brother to the side and took his place. "Don't think too much about what he said. He's drunk."
Emily raised an eyebrow. "But we just got here."
"Yeah, well... vodka. We had some in our room. He said he was more Russian than me and drank like two thirds of it." he added, rolling his eyes.
Emily smirked, chuckling as her brother found himself a good looking woman. Adrian sighed.
Hissagi kept scanning Emily. She had a nice body and an interesting personality, a combination he had been seeking for a long time. When she excused herself, he stood up as well, following her out.
Adrian watched them go then rose from his seat, wanting to join them. Matsumoto grabbed his arm. "You're overpro...overproc...exagerated! Can't she have a little fun?"
Adrian sighed, sitting down. The woman was right, he wasn't supposed to meddle into his sister's bussines unless she asked him to. "She's engaged, Matsumoto-san." he informed.
The woman's smile fell as some of the others stood up. "What?" Renji asked. "I saw a ring, but... Who? And where is he?"
Adrian shrugged, unsure what to say. He had the perfect lie in his mind, but what if Emily told Hissagi something else? They had to synchronize their stories in order to make them belieavable. "I don't know that much about him." he said vaguely. "We were here when they got engaged, but I met him and he's quite nice. Acceptable, at least. And since they love each other so much, we had little to no objections."
Matsumoto frowned, wanting to know more, but, before she had the chance to ask anything, Hissagi returned. His left cheek was red and he seemed shocked. "She's engaged?" he asked.
Adrian nodded, standing up. "Yes, and I won't let anything and anybody get in the way of their marriage." He left immediately after, wanting to catch up with his sister.
Emily smiled faintly as she saw him. "I hoped you'd come..." she said.
Adrian nodded and they started walking towards her room. "We need to decide your fiance's story."
Emily sighed.
"What did you tell Hissagi?"
"Nothing. He asked, but I said it was none of his bussines. He pressed, saying that if I didn't want to be with him I should more valid reasons. I showed him the ring. He grabbed my wrist and I slapped him."
Adrian gulped. "I hope he got the message." Emily looked down. He placed an arm around her shoulders. "Onee-san, it'll be alright."
Emily sighed, looking into his eyes. "You don't get it. When he grabbed my wrist, I panicked. Had he tried anything more, I would have frozen. I..."
'I'm defenseless on my own. Like all those years ago. I haven't changed at all.' she thought, but refused to say it out loud. Adrian was, in her opinion, too strong-willed to be able to understand her.
The blonde sighed, knowing that she was hiding something and guessing what. "If you don't feel safe, no matter when, come to us. We are your first protectors." 'Hirako is your second.'
Emily shook her head. "I get it. The story..."
Adrian's grip tightened, but his body didn't betray his displeasure in any other way. "He's in a 40 years mission in the Real World in a highly reiatsu active area. Try not to reveal his name or appearance."
The woman nodded and they arrived at her room in silence. Adrian stayed until she got in bed. "Sis, promise me you won't try anything stupid."
Emily sighed, turning around so her back faced him. "Promise."
Adrian inwardly frowned. 'When did we lose her?' He walked to her and stayed on her bed. "Emmalin-onee-san, talk to me."
Emily flinched. He only called her like that very rarely, when he was sure something was very wrong between them. "Nothing."
Adrian's hand rested on her head. "You're lying. I know you miss him, it's understandable, but when did we lose you to the point you won't tell us what's troubling you?"
Emily's eyes filled with tears and she shrugged, using that time to push away the proof of her sadness. "I miss him, that's all."
Adrian clenched his fists in frustration. "It's more than that."
His voice had lost a little of its calm warmth and Emily gulped. She knew how much he cared about her, but she didn't want the calm and colected man to worry over her stupid issues. "Nothing. It's nothing. Really."
Adrian stood up abruptly. "I know you're worried about Hissagi. I simply wanted you to be honest with me." he said before storming out. Emily stood up and looked at the door, her tears falling down her cheeks in guilt. Very few things could make Adrian like that (mostly Andrew doing something stupid), but when she did it, it was bad. He would do stupid things. She tried to sense his reiatsu and go after him, but he wasn't in Sereitei anymore.
