Chapter – Busy First Day

Hermione woke the next morning to the sound of someone laughing. She sat up quickly and found Harmony in her cot where her mother had hovered for most of the night as she woke up regularly after short intervals.

The Gryffindor smiled down at her sleeping daughter who rubbed a clothed fist over her closed eyes. The bed next to Hermione's was filled with laughter as Ginny had Sirius on the bed between her legs, laughing at his antics. The older witch smiled as her view shifted to Blaise, passed out in his chair, his head resting lightly on the edge of Ginny's bed.

A small noise brought her gaze back to Harmony who had woken up and was wiggling about, testing her vocal cords. "Hey there beautiful." Hermione picked up her daughter and cradled her in one arm while with the other she pushed up from the bed and took hesitant steps over to Ginny.

"Oh hey 'Mione, I didn't know you where awake." The redhead barely glanced up as she cooed to Sirius who was attempting to grab her hair. The bushy-haired girl yawned and shifted her hold on Harmony to place her next to Sirius, "You mind watching her for a moment? I have to go for a shower."

Ginny nodded and turned her attention to Harmony, tickling the baby girl gently. "Sure thing 'Mione, just be quick we have to go to breakfast and then after Madame Pomfrey is going to show Luna and us how to wash the kids." Hermione turned from her walk to the shower and looked back, "Luna?"

"Yeah, she gave birth last night, a boy I think. She's over there." Ginny pointed across the room where indeed Luna sat, holding a blond-haired boy in her arms, Harry passed out on the floor. 'Looks like their partners stayed with them for the night…'

Hermione shook away her thoughts to listen to Ginny who was still talking, "-una was right, she did give birth last night, ha. I didn't even know till I woke up and there she was dressing her kid in a hand-knitted jumpsuit and beany." Ginny shook her head in amazement before turning back to the two babies in her care as Blaise woke up.

There were no taps for the shower all you had to do was point your wand at the shower head and with a little thought it'd turn on and adjust to however you wanted. Hermione put the shower at scalding hot as she observed her body.

Her belly still had baby fat which was normal and there were stretch marks lining her abdomen like tiger stripes. These would all go away along with the pain that covered the lower half of her body. The witch grabbed her wand from the pile of clothes and flicked it at her hair, which then washed itself.

Once she was clean Hermione turned off the shower and put on new clothes which had magically appeared; a long-sleeved loose blue shirt with comfortable fitting sweat pants. She chose to remain barefoot and paced back to her bed, retrieving Harmony from a laughing Ginny.

"What's so funny?" Hermione enquired as she sat on her bed, taking the jumpsuit off Harmony who shivered as the cold air hit her. "Oh nothing, just a joke Blaise told me." Ginny blushed and Hermione raised an eyebrow, 'Must've been a pretty good joke to have Ginny laughing after living with the twins…'

"Okay." The brunette resigned accio-ing a nappy and some wipes before setting about the gruelling task of changing her baby's dirty nappy. Across the room Luna dressed her son in a knitted blue and red jumpsuit, covering his blond hair with a golden beany that sprouted wings like the Snitch.

Harry woke up from his doze on the floor as Luna, holding their baby, hopped lightly off the bed, her feet brushing against Harry. The Chosen One stood up, dragging his hands through his hair before walking slowly over to Hermione and collapsing on the bed that she'd just vacated.

"Tired Harry?" His house-mate teased holding a red jumpsuit dressed Harmony in her arms. "You try staying up all night as Luna makes you hold all these charms to ward off things that don't even exist…" Sure enough when she looked, Luna's bed was surrounded by charms and hanging trinkets.

"Haha, fair enough. You coming to breakfast?" Hermione held Harmony in one hand as she pocketed her wand. "Maybe later." Came the muffled reply as Harry rolled over and pressed his face into the pillow.

"Okay, but don't be late, we have potions first." Hermione waltzed over to Ginny and Blaise, Harry's groan of displeasure following her. "Come on guys, let's go." Blaise picked up Sirius with utter concentration on his face mixed with a faint adoration and love which surprised the Gryffindor.

Before they left Madame Pomfrey insisted they have more of the blue potion to help them gain more strength and energy after giving birth only the day before. Luna joined them with a dreamy look on her face, her son snuggled into her arms.

"So Luna what did you name your baby?" Ginny asked as she skipped backwards ahead of the trio, her eyes almost never leaving Sirius in his father's arms. The Ravenclaw smiled distantly as she seemed to think for a moment before her eyes refocused and she replied with, "Gabriel Zachariah Lovegood-Potter."

"Why Gabriel?" Blaise asked as he cooed to Sirius who gurgled back, "Because he was the one that told the Virgin Mary and Zecherias of their pregnancy so I thought it was fitting." Luna replied, as they neared the Great Hall. "And Zachariah?" Ginny followed up, spinning around to fall into step beside Blaise.

"Because it matched." Was her answer and with that Ginny opened the great hall and the noise hit them. "Well I'll see you later." Luna buzzed and carrying little Gabriel she drifted over to the Ravenclaw table, a glazed look in her eyes.

Hermione switched Harmony from one arm to the other and spying the tell-tale red hair of Ron, walked over to him, Ginny and Blaise trailing behind. Ron looked up at her, aiming a glare at Harmony which left his face as Ginny swatted him over the head, sitting next to Blaise and taking Sirius from him.

The Slytherin's face seemed to fall as he watched his son in Ginny's arms but he brightened up as he filled his plate with food. Hermione took her place in between Ron and Ginny, holding her daughter in one arm as she filled her plate with the few vegetables that sat on the table.

"Is that all you're going to eat?" The redheaded male Weasley asked in disbelieve as he piled his plate high with bacon, eggs and sausages. "It's better for my body to eat healthier for now, even though I've already had Harmony…" Hermione held her daughter in the crook of her right arm, nibbling at her food with her left.

A loud excited exclamation came from down the table and a heavily pregnant Lavender and Parvati hurried over to Hermione and Ginny, cooing and babbling to their babies.

"Aw, he's so cute."

"Oh my god, she got her father's eyes!"

"Look how tiny he is!"

An irritable Hermione scowled with annoyance and turned to face the girls, her hands covering Harmony, "If you two keep it up you'll go into labour." The two girls seemed to hesitate, "Right here in front of everyone…" Their fellow house-mate added and they pouted before returning to their seats.

"That was harsh." Ron spoke through the food in his mouth, "Just remember Ronald if Lavender went into Labor you'd go with her and have to cut breakfast short." Hermione's eyes glinted mischievously and Ron gulped, turning back to his food.

The witch pushed her plate away and stood up, drawing Ginny's attention, "I'm going back to the hospital wing to bath Harmony, you coming?" The younger witch nodded and turned back as Blaise popped a piece of bacon into her mouth before gathering Sirius up and following Hermione.

The two girls carried their babies to the hospital wing to meet Madame Pomfrey. Luna arrived not long after with a sleeping Gabriel, the beany skewed over his eyes. The Medi-witch led them over to Hermione and Ginny's bed where three baths on stilts stood, reaching level with their stomachs.

The trio were instructed to undress the babies before holding them in the inch-deep water, a hand under their heads and backs. Pomfrey handed them each a wash cloth which they used to drip water over the babies, softly sponging them. "This is fun." Ginny laughed as Sirius wiggled in the water, obviously loving his first bath. The same could be said for Gabriel but not for Harmony.

She was squirming in her mother's grip, grey eyes tearing up as her face grew steadily redder. Hermione tried to hush her, taking her from the bath but Harmony would not be swayed and with an ear shattering scream she began to cry her heart out. Madame Pomfrey bustled over to assess the situation, "Dear me, she doesn't like her bath…"

Hermione glared at the Medi-witch, "You think?" She began rocking Harmony in a soothing motion as the elder witch frowned before summoning a pale yellow, almost green, dummy out of the air and teasing it into the crying baby's mouth, putting an end to the tantrum.

"There, now Miss Granger, Weasley and Lovegood if you would all please dress your children I do believe you have a class to get to." And with that the bell rang signalling their first class. The three girls dried and dressed their children making to leave before Madame Pomfrey stopped them.

"For now you'll be leaving the children in my care until they are older and can accompany you to your classes." The witches hesitantly put the babies into their respective cots before with one last worried glance they left them to the care of the Medi-witch who was busy preparing baby bottles.

Hermione slid to a stop before her potions class, smoothing down her robes before opening the door to the withering glare of Professor Snape, "Ah, Miss Granger, you have finally stooped enough to grace us with your presence. Ten points from Gryffindor."

Hermione gaped at the teacher's blunt speech, "But Professor I had to-" She was cut off, "Arguing are we? Another ten points from Gryffindor, now be seated and keep that trap of yours shut." Snape turned to the board, missing the look of fury the brunette sent his way as she slumped next to Ron and began taking notes.

Twenty minutes later the door opened to reveal Harry, his hair a mess from his sleep, "I'm so sorry Professor I-" With barely a glance, Snape cut him off, "Twenty points from Gryffindor for being late, now take your seat." Harry took his place next to Hermione and Ron meekly, opening his book and copying the notes off the board.

'Well at least Snape hates someone more than me.' Hermione laughed to herself, "Ten points from Gryffindor." Her laughter turned to a groan, 'Or maybe not.'

Did you like? I think I liked... There was something that was wrong with this story too... Like something wrong with the logic but I forget.. Dangit! Anywho, you just gotta love Luna, hey? She called her kid Gabriel because, hello! Supernatural fan here! And Zachariah matched.. I kinda hated that Angel... But I love the Snitch beanie she makes for him =) Anyway, *Stares at empty word document* We got work to do. (Congrats to anyone who gets that reference! You are now my favourite reviewer/follower/favouriter.) ^_^
