Here's the mini-chapter-thingy, as promised. It's really nice to be able to just dish those chapters out.
I own nothing.
Chapter Eleven
Man, Dumbledore's eye-twinkle-legilimency-thingy was annoying the crap out of him. After thirty minutes of solid staring, and attempting to break through Harry obsidian-like mind walls, Dumbledore finally relented. "So, where did you learn the Reductor Curse?" Harry sighed.
He lied easily, "Just last week, sir. I enjoy spending my time in the Phoenix library." That was true. Harry loved the library, but he had known that curse since he had read it in the Potter library, many years ago. He used to practice it on small pebbles. There was the occasional time that he missed, and completely ruined the floor of his old bedroom, but hey, Harry could always fix that.
Dumbledore did his eye twinkle-thing, "Ah. I wanted to ask you about that. Now, I have never seen the Phoenix library, I want to make sure that all the reading material there is appropriate. Do you mind telling me the password?"
Harry pursed his lip, "Well, headmaster, if I know anything at all about magic, it is that magic itself relies on intent. If your intentions are good, then I'm sure the house would let you in. If not, then, too bad. The password is 'Helena Ravenclaw'. I actually make the passwords, and the Hogwarts ghost often enjoy giving me ideas. Actually, it was the Grey Lady that gave me that one." Dumbledore nodded.
"Very well, Harry. Off you trot, my boy."
Harry found out from a ghost later that Dumbledore had done the password on the wrong torch and been banished to the Black Lake. Everyone in the Phoenix common room had a good laugh over that one.
