...
"Fitz, there's no reason for you to leave again tonight. If Antonio was going to do anything, he would have done it already!"
Fitz stopped in his tracks and turned abruptly, causing Olivia to slam face forward into his chest.
"Olivia, please do not speak like that. I don't know what I'd do if something happened to you." He noticed her apologetic eyes and gently cupped her face with his hands. She placed her hands over his and eagerly kissed his lips as he leaned closer. They said their "I love you's" and Fitz made his way out of the door to Harrison's apartment.
Olivia lingered at the front door with her hand pressed against it. Fitz had been linking up with Harrison and another one of their friends, Huck, to gather information about Antonio. After the restraining order practically did nothing, Fitz decided to take things into his own hands. He no longer gave a fuck about consequences. He wanted to take care of Antonio himself and he hoped he could do that with the help of Harrison and Huck.
Olivia walked over to her purse and dialed her friend Abby, in hopes that she was still on for coming over to have a girl's night. She seated herself on the couch and awaited Abby's answer, who picked up on the third ring.
"Hey, Liv!, What's up?"Abby questioned.
"Hey, you're still coming over right?"
"I sure am. I'm just getting dressed now."
"Ok. Great! I need my Abby time."
"I know you do heifer. Would you like me to bring over a couple bottles of wine? Drunk Abby time is so much more fun."
Olivia laughed at her friend, but as much as she wanted to drink she didn't need to.
"No not tonight. Just bring yourself. & maybe bring something sweet. Ice cream!?"
"Ice cream. Let me guess, chocolate chip cookie dough!"
"YES!" Olivia shouted enthusiastically. "You know me too well."
"Yeah, I know. I'll be over shortly, after I put on my shoes."
"Okay, well take your time. I'm gonna hop in the shower and do something with my hair."
"Will do. See you soon!" Abby spoke before ending the call. Olivia sat her phone down on the coffee table but not before checking that the time was now 8:25. She scurried up the stairs and discarded her dirty clothes into the dirty bin before hopping into the shower.
As she stood under the water, letting the hot droplets cascade down her body, she felt an uneasiness in her gut. She popped her head out of the shower door not knowing why she was feeling the way she was. She quickly finished her shower faster than she wanted to and grabbed her red bathrobe which was hanging on the back door of the bathroom. She grabbed a hair tie from the counter and made her way into her bedroom. She navigated her way through her room and as she got closer to the bedroom door, she could hear the smooth sounds of the Isley Brothers playing from her surround sound speakers. She wondered if Fitz had come back home.
She gradually made her way to the staircase and proceeded to descend. The music got a little louder as she neared the living room. Sweet thoughts of Fitz trying to surprise her created butterflies in her stomach. A small smile graced her lips as she noticed the lights were dimmed and a few candles were lit. She waked further to where the music was and noticed a bouquet of flowers that hadn't been there before. She smiled brightly as she leaned over to smell the flowers and she noticed there was a card. She gleefully picked it up. It read, "Next to you is where I want to be. With you always you are home to me." She blushed and basked in his love and generosity.
"Awh, Fitz!" Olivia cooed. But she didn't notice the figure behind her.
Deep breathes were taken before the figure finally spoke.
"It wasn't Fitz, baby"
...
Fitz arrived to Harrison's place a few minutes before 9:00 p.m. He made his way into his apartment, happy to see Huck already there. He greeted them both and took a seat on the couch. Harrison offered him a beer in which he gladly accepted.
"Fitz, how are you feeling?"
Fitz took a sip of his drink and really didn't know how to answer that! So many feelings were running through his mind at the moment.
"I don't know how I feel. I mean I do know but it's like i'm feeling all these things at once. Right now, i'm enraged and terrified at the same. I want to find this guy before anything dangerous happens. He's already taken things too far and if I would have listened to my gut before, he would have been out of our lives. I just want to move on from this."
Huck and Harrison gave each other knowing nods. They hated seeing Fitz like this.
"I should've taken care of that bastard when I had the chance. So many opportunities. I could've stopped this a long time ago."
"Hey, Harrison, don't you dare blame yourself. How could you know this was going to happen or that he was a crazed psychotic lunatic? It's no one's fault. I can't even blame Liv. I did at first but I can't anymore. She didn't ask for this. I was hurt before but now that we've grown closer and past it all, I just want this piece of shit dealt with." Fitz got out and took another sip of his beer before placing it down on the table.
Huck began speaking and informed that through hard work and skill, he was able to gather information on Antonio. They looked at his bank statements and Huck placed cameras at his home and even bugged his home phone and cell phone. How Huck was so good at this, Fitz was afraid to ask. He was just thankful.
After Olivia had told him about the Halloween incident he nearly lost it. He didn't understand how this guy just wouldn't take the hint. He tried going about things the calm way but calm no longer existed in his dictionary. Olivia knew there was no stopping him. It was his way or his way. No other options.
It took Huck awhile to do everything he needed to do. Whenever he had something new they'd link together in hopes of gathering evidence to put him in prison. Huck even told them that Antonio used his mother's address for a lot of things instead of his own. He was there more because his mother was ill. Huck was able to break inside of Antonio's place and he found some things he wasn't sure that he wanted to tell Fitz but he assured Huck that he could take it. Huck found a nude photo-shopped poster sized image of Olivia on another woman's body secretly hidden in his office. Antonio had obviously used it to pleasure himself. Fitz' face read nothing but pure anger and disgust. His fist were balled up tightly as Huck moved on to showing some strange purchases from his bank statements.
He had purchased candles, romantic music, and condoms. They sat there baffled wondering what sparked his need for these purchases. There was no one special in his life, not that they knew of and if there was, they wouldn't be there much longer. Fitz felt a little uneasy in this moment. Olivia informed him that Abby may have been coming over which made him feel better about leaving her but he needed to call her just to know everything was okay.
The phone rang multiple times before Olivia finally answered.
...
Olivia stood there not knowing what to do. It was as if she was permanently stuck in her stance. She began to shake as tears threatened to spill from her eyes. After the Halloween party at Fitz' job, They'd been receiving mysterious calls. Whenever Fitz would answer the phone, there was silence. But at the times Olivia answered, Antonio would speak. He'd say how much he missed her and how he couldn't wait for them to be together.
He was smart in making sure that none of this traced back to him. His actions went from phone calls to presents and flowers on their door step. More recently, things were becoming more hostile.
All which lead up to this moment. Antonio noticed her visibly shaking and he made his way around to face her. She looked so petite and small. She diverted her gaze away as the tears fell. She did't know his intentions and that's what scared her the most.
"Awh, Oliviai, don't cry" Antonio encouraged as he wrapped his arms around her.
"Please, don't!" She whimpered out.
"Shh shh, Liv, I would never hurt you. I just needed to get you alone. We haven't been alone in so long. I've missed you."
Antonio stepped back from their embrace and looked Olivia in her eyes.
"Please, leave. My friend will be here any minute now. She will call the cops."
Antonio chuckled at Olivia before walking over to poor himself something to drink. He offered her some and she declined, disgusted at how he ignored her pleas. She noticed she wasn't too far from the house phone so she made a dash for it but when she picked it up, the line was dead.
"no, no, no" she whispered to herself over and over.
Antonio came strolling back around to where she stood in no time and took a few sips of his drink.
She placed the phone back on the receiver and continued to beg and plead to him.
"Antonio, I'm begging you. My friend will be here and she will know something is not right. Just leave now."
"You're friend?" Antonio asked, playfully. "Abby, isn't it? Yeah, I don't think she'll be making it over here tonight.
Olivia gave him a look of confusion and fear, for she had no idea what that meant.
Olivia was about to speak again when she saw that her cell phone was ringing. She looked from the phone and back to him. He walked over to her phone before saying, "speaking of the devil." while holding up her phone showing Abby popping up on her caller I.D. He walked towards and told her to act normal and place the call on speaker phone and if she tried anything he'd be forced to take measures into his own hands.
With an unsteady hand she took the phone from Antonio.
"Hey Abby" She spoke into the phone, trying to hide the weariness in her voice but also hoping Abby would detect it.
"You will never guessed what has happened. I was on my way out and I look down at my tires and they're flat. Just my fucking luck. I don't know how this could've happened. I already called AAA but it's going to be awhile. I can still make it over if you want.
Olivia looked at Antonio who was shaking his head no. She felt her tears still flowing as she spoke the next few words.
"Oh, it's fine Abby. Don't go through the trouble."
"You sound weird Olivia. Are you okay. Are you sure?"
Olivia took a deep breath, "Yes, i'm sure. Don't worry. I'll see you later."
"Okay, Liv. Sorry this happened I was looking forward to it. I love you!"
"I love you too" Olivia spoke softly before hearing the line go dead. She pulled the phone away from her ear as Antonio had finished his drink and placed the glass on the table.
"Now, where were we?" Antonio said before making his way towards Olivia.
Every step he would take towards her was a step she would take away from him.
"C'mon Livie, you don't have to run." But they both halted their movements when there was another call on Olivia's cell phone. It was Fitz.
"Answer it." Antonio spat as he stood a few feet away from her.
Olivia shook her head before speaking. "Please don't make me do this."
"Answer it, Olivia" He spat again. "Put him on speaker as you did with Abby and tell him Abby is still coming over. Don't fuck around.
Olivia answered the phone before its last few rings unprepared to lie to Fitz.
"Hi, baby" She spoke softly into the phone.
"Hi, babe. You good over there? I just wanted to check up on you"
Olivia locked her pleading eyes with Antonio's mischievous ones as she spoke to Fitz.
"Yes, I'm fine. I'm just finding a movie to put on."
"Okay, is Abby still coming over?" Fitz asked as he paced gradually around Harrison's living room.
"Yes, Abby's still coming over. She's on her way now."
"That's good. Well, you girls have fun. Not too much fun" He chuckled because he knew how they could be when they got together.
"We won't" Olivia replied dryly. Fitz was taken aback when Olivia didn't share mutual amusement.
"You're sure you're good, babe?" Fitz asked, he felt like something was off with her.
"Yes, i'm good. We'll be fine. Don't rush home" Olivia said quickly. Fitz had never heard her request that he not rush home even if she was having company. She usually enjoyed his presence friends there or not.
She wished in this moment he could read the signs and figure out that there was something not right. She didn't know what Antonio would do if she disobeyed and it terrified her. She didn't want to take the chance but Fitz knew her. He knew her enough to know when something was wrong. Right?
Antonio looked at her and mouthed for her to finish the conversation and hang up the phone.
"I love you, Fitz. See you when you get home."
"I love you too, Liv" Fitz spoke hesitantly before ending the call. He walked to the kitchen and grabbed a few more beers before taking his seat.
A few more minutes had passed before Fitz felt his phone buzzing on the coffee table. He noticed that the caller I.D. read Abby. He wondered why she would be calling him.
He reached down and picked up his phone before answering.
"Hey Abby. What's up!"
"Hey Fitz. I didn't know if Olivia had called you yet or not but I just wanted to let you know that someone or something flattened my tires. I told Olivia I'd still come if she wanted me to but she told me not to worry about it. I'm at home now waiting for AAA."
Fitz stood to his feet taken aback from what Abby was saying.
"Wait, I just talked to Liv. She mentioned nothing about your tires and said you were still coming over."
"Well, I talked to her about 15 minutes ago and she told me she was just going to watch a movie."
Fitz rubbed his temples trying to piece everything together. This makes no sense. Why would she lie?"
"I don't know. I asked her if everything was okay and she said yeah. Although, she did sound a little weird but I didn't think much into it."
Fitz' eyes went wide as he got this feeling that something definitely not right. "Abby, I don't feel good about this. Any of this. I'm calling Olivia back!"
Fitz hung up the phone with Abby and quickly dialed Olivia's cell phone again. He told Harrison and Huck that something wasn't right and that he needed to get home. They both said they would follow him there. Olivia's phone went to voice mail and Fitz' face was filled with nothing but worry and panic.
"She didn't answer" He yelled before dialing her number again and making his way to the front door. Fitz dashed out of the Harrison's place and down to his car, wasting no time speeding away. Olivia still hadn't answered the phone.
...
"You feel so good in my arms" Antonio whispered in her ear as they swayed back and forth to the music blaring through the speakers. After her hang up with Fitz, Antonio went on and on about how Olivia betrayed him but he was willing to forgive her because he couldn't stay mad. He wanted her to finally admit her feelings for him and say she'd leave Fitz to finally be with him.
Now here they were. Olivia's tears staining his dress shirt while his hands caressed her backside. She tried coming up with attempts at getting away from him but when he went to his bag to pull out a few of his items, she saw a gun. Her breath caught in her throat as she eyed the piece of steel. Antonio noticed her surprise and laughed to himself before saying, "Oh, Livvie. I won't use it unless i'm forced to do so.
From that point on, all her plans of escape were thrown out of the window. She truly feared her life and what Antonio would do to her. Now she was trapped in the arms of the man she feared most in this very moment. She could do nothing but blame herself. None of this would have happened if she didn't emotionally stray away from her husband. She brought this upon herself. She stood enveloped in his arms thinking that there was no way out of this.
She looked down at her cell phone on the table as Fitz' name flashed across the screen. She watched her phone light up over and over and felt pathetic that she wasn't even trying to fight against Antonio. She was so out of it that she actually felt she deserved this.
She sent one final prayer up to the heavens that somehow, someway, she would be saved. All she could see was Fitz' face. If she were to die tonight, she wanted his face to be the last thing she saw.
...
