GrimFWaters: Sorry for the wait. Hope this makes up for it?
Guest: Thanks for the review! More chapters are to come!
midns:Thank you! I hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years as well! (even if it's a bit late ;)
Unknown: Good! I don't want any of my readers dying!
Lionnara: Sorry to disappoint but this is not the confessing chapter just yet. Bella will have to trust them more. But don't worry, it should be coming up very soon!
KEZZ 1:No more waiting cuz it's right here! Thanks for reading!
Guest (from review for chp 5): Of course you can do that. As long as you keep the credit as is, I have no problem with it. I'm glad you like the story that much!
Ninasa1122:Nope, I am not mistaken. This chapter is an example of my 3rd point of view chapters. I don't count them as story chapters. Fanfiction just counts everything as chapters that messes everyone up. Sorry for the confusion!
Annyeonghaseo, Unnies and Noonas! Yes, yes, I'm the worst author on the planet. Let's move on...
Happy Valentine's Day! I've been meaning to finish this chapter since I just got my new laptop, which was part of the reason why I haven't posted. But I'm here now. I finished today so that the loners (like me) have something to do besides watch romance movies and eat Ben and Jerry's. Plus, it's really hard to write in someone other than Bella's perspective.
Anyway, enjoy!
Disclaimer: Me? Owning Twilight? *snorts* Yeah, and I have a date tonight... Pssshh...
3POV #4
Surely, it happens to everyone, right? Teenagers skip every once in a while. But this was no average teenager; this was Bella.
Could she be sick? Edward's worried thoughts bombarded his head. She couldn't have gotten into an accident, could she? No, this is Forks; I would've heard about it by first period. What if she accidentally slept in late? What if-
"You look like a little boy who can't find his toy," Edward hadn't heard his sister's thoughts, more like felt her presence. Alice had joined Edward by his locker as he searched the sea of bodies in the hallway. "You're looking for Bella, aren't you?"
Edward turned to her then. "Do you know where she is?" he asked a little anxiously.
Alice shook her head. "I haven't seen her, either."
"Yeah, but have you seen her?" Edward pushed.
"Oh," Alice said. Then she froze with a faraway look in her eyes. After a second she said, "I don't see anything, but it feels pretty weird. I don't know, maybe she skipped." And with that, she left him without another glance, but Edward could tell by Alice's tone and expression that something was off.
So when he spotted Bella at her locker after sixth period, Edward was immensely relieved. And when she told him she slept in late, he confused about how much he worried about her safety, but brushed the thought away.
When they sat together at lunch and talked joyously to each other about complete nonsense, Edward felt a strange tug in his stomach and, get this, his heart. He ignored it just as he did earlier because he did not want to miss a single word Bella said to him.
It was kind of scary.
But nonetheless Edward carried on. He paid attention like the words Bella was spewing out of her mouth was the cure for cancer.
School was over and Edward was somewhat eager to talk to Bella again, so he rushed out of class and into the parking lot...
...only to be bombarded by his family members.
"Edward, something feels off. I don't know what, but I think it has to do with Bella!" Alice said hysterically. Jasper was trying to calm his wife down but to no avail.
"What did you see, Alice?" Edward asked impatiently. Then his other sister stepped up.
"Why do we care, anyways? She's just a human. We don't need to worry about her!" Rosalie snapped. Emmett put a hand on her shoulder, and Rosalie somewhat relaxed to the touch.
The rest of her siblings ignored her.
Alice responded, " I didn't see anything; I just have a bad feeling..."
It was then that the five vampires turned their heads towards the loud screeching of an uncontrollable van zooming its way across the parking lot.
To Bella.
If you asked what Edward was thinking in that moment, he wouldn't be able to answer you, because what happened was purely instinct.
Before he could realize what he was doing, Edward was sprinting at an inhumanly pace towards the impact zone; towards the girl that utterly, and mysteriously fascinated the hell out of him. He didn't even hesitate. His body just pushed itself forward like it was the only thing it could do. Like someone was controlling her.
Save her.
Once Edward reached her, he slid his arm around her waist and pulled her with him as the both tumbled forward, and out of the path of the crazy van.
When Edward turned Bella over he noticed that she had passed out; most likely from the shock. Her heart was beating fast, but was gradually slowing down. Soon, everything sort of unfroze once the van hit Bella's truck. There were a few girls' screams, and bodies were running towards the crash site. Edward took note of the way that his family stayed behind with their thoughts piercing his head.
Edward, what did you do...
Bro, that looked fun! But Rose seems pissed...
Why did I not see that? I'm so sorry, Edward. I didn't know that was going to happen...
What the hell, Edward! Look what you did! You put the whole family in danger because of some pathetic human! I swear...
Students were rushing up to Edward now, frantically asking questions.
"How is she?"
"Is she hurt?"
"Do I need to call and ambulance?"
"I'll call an ambulance!"
If vampires could get headaches, Edward's head would be pulsing.
Once Edward got to the hospital, he quickly went in search for Carlisle. He was just about to turn a corner when he spotted Carlisle exiting a room staring down at the clipboard in his hands.
"Carlisle!"
Carlisle's head snapped up at the sound of Edward's voice, and he quickly sauntered to where Edward was standing.
"Edward, what seems to be the problem?"
"There was an accident at school involving Bella Swan," Edward said. Carlisle looked like he was about to say an inquiry but Edward beat him. "Yes, she's okay. She just fainted in shock. I just want you to check up on her."
Carlisle stared at Edward for a few seconds in wonder. He was thinking so fast that Edward couldn't decipher his thoughts. Carlisle agreed.
"Well, everything looks fine. I think she'll just need some rest."
Carlisle was standing in front of Bella's hospital bed with Edward hanging out by the door frame. Carlisle had just evaluated Bella. Charlie Swan had arrived 15 minutes ago and was currently in the waiting room. Edward couldn't help but invade his thoughts.
Oh, Bella. What have you got yourself into? I have to keep a better eye on her. You never know when there could be another 'incident'...
Gibberish, Edward thought.
Carlisle continued talking. "Her gloves are torn. Let's see if there are any scrapes or scratches." He then gently unclothed the glove from Bella's hand. He grabbed her wrist and began inspecting her hand. There was a small scrape on Bella's palm. Carlisle absent mindedly brushed it with his thumb.
Bella's eyes flew open.
Carlisle startled backwards from the shock. Bella snatched her hand away hastily.
"Did you touch me?!" She screamed.
"Yes, I was checking for scrapes..." For some reason, Bella did not like this answer.
"Why would you do that!" She yelled at him.
Why is she so upset? Is it the shock or? She needs to calm down or we'll have to sedate her...
"Isabella you need to calm down..."
Isabella changed her tactics from shrieking to apologizing. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to!"
Edward stood by the door frozen, watching Bella's hysterical scene unfold before him. Carlisle was calm on the outside, but his thoughts were running around frantically.
This is something else, isn't it, Edward? Something else triggered this? But what...
"Miss Swan, please calm yourself or-"
"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!" Her voice hiccupped from sobbing. She was thrashing around uncontrollably, causing the pillows and sheets to fall of the bed. Edward had no idea what to do. How were you supposed to comfort someone who's inconsolable?
I have no choice...
"Nurse!"
A middle aged woman rushed into the room. She was reasonably calm-of course she has seen much worse as a nurse-as she grabbed a syringe from a cabinet just as Dr. Cullen told her to. She stuck the needle into Bella's arm as best as she could what with Bella's frantic movements.
"I'm so s-"
Silence
Outside of Carlisle's office ten minutes after the incident, Edward still couldn't shake off the uneasy feeling of the intense turmoil he just witnessed. Mostly, he felt stupid for not doing anything to help.
"Has she brought up anything during your conversations? Any signs of anxiety or aggravation?" Carlisle's tone was one's of worry. He showed genuine concern for the girl he's only met in conversation. Even his thoughts were pure.
"Nothing I spotted. She always seems so relaxed," Edward began, but quickly realized he was describing earlier today instead of their earlier meet-ups. "No, actually she was always tense. She spoke in crypt, like she was keeping a secret. But it looked like she wanted to spill profusely."
They stood in silence for a few moments, letting the words sink in and wonder what it could mean. A sudden shrill off a phone snapped them out of their deliberation. It was Carlisle's phone with an upcoming text from Alice. Edward heard the text from his thoughts:
She will wake up in 2 minutes and 45 seconds
Of course with the low-alcohol sedative, it should be wearing off soon.
"Maybe it would be better if I visited her alone," Carlisle suggested. Edward quickly agreed, but he would be right outside the door listening to everything unfold.
Just as Alice foretold, Bella's eyes fluttered open at the remembrance of the prior occurrence.
"Oh, no. No, no, no," she began to mumble. Carlisle thought he should interfere before she had another breakdown.
"Miss Swan, please calm down. You are alright, dear. I'm Dr. Cullen; I've been treating you for the duration of the time."
She seem startled by his answer, or his appearance. "Wha-what are you doing here?" Edward would have to go with the latter.
"I've come to check up on you, now that you're awake. I believe you'll be able to go home in-"
"What are you doing here?" Bella asked more forcefully.
Did she just ask me that again?, Carlisle thought, confused by her question. "Excuse me?" He responded.
"You touched me! You touched my hand, how are you still alive?"
Did I just hear what I think she said, Edward asked himself. She was basically calling Carlisle dead.
She's not far from the truth.
Maybe this was time for Edward to intervene.
"Uh, Miss Swan-" Carlisle began, but was interrupted by Edward opening the door and stepping inside.
"Carlisle?" Edward's voice stopped him. Bella's gaze snapped to Edward's form as she took in the situation. A sudden realization crossed her face. She turned back to Carlisle.
"You're Edward's father," she said. She must have noticed their similar attributes and the fact that both of their names are Cullen (obviously).
Carlisle replied, "And you're somewhat confusing, I'm afraid. What was this about how I should-"
"Get me a cup of water!" Bella blurted out.
"I'll get it," Edward offered, then left the room before anyone could reply. As soon as he shut the door, his phone shrilled as he got an oncoming call from Alice.
"Yes?"
"I saw, Edward."
"Yeah, thanks for that. Carlisle's in there now-"
"Edward, I saw her."
Edward's brow furrowed in confusion. "Yeah, Alice, I know."
"No, you don't," Alice responded. "I saw her future, Edward. Clearly."
"Okay, go on." Edward said.
"She was doing something to a plant. She touched it once, and a second later, it shriveled up and died."
"What?" Edward was even more confused now.
"Edward, she knocked down a whole evergreen tree. With the touch of her palms."
"Alice, what are you trying to say?"
"I'm trying to say, Bella is not human."
In case you were freaked out, I spoke in Korean for my introduction. I don't know if I told you this, but I love Kpop (Girls' Generation, SHINee, BAP, Exo, etc). Also, I love Teen Wolf and Reign. Can't wait for Divergent to come out! And TFiOS!
Hoped you enjoyed this chapter. It was kinda rushed considering I have to wake up at 5:30 am tomorrow for a soccer tournament, but I think it turned out fine. What do you think?
Any comments, questions, complaints, or concerns, let me know in a review or a PM!
