From Birth: James Sirius Potter
A/N: This is a Harry/Ginny pairings fic from that tells the pregnancy of James from Ginnys point of view. I hope people review and actually read this fanfiction.. With a romance and a bit of comedy! This is set in the year of 2005, making it 2013 when James is in second year at Hogwarts. Harry and Ginny are living in a flat, but I have something else in mind for later! ;) But on the brighter side- I just discovered I'm on a community! Thank you GinnyWeasley4eva8, who was kind enough to add me!
I figured that James would have been concieved around New Years, so sorry if I'm not accurate.
Disclaimer: Not mine, J. owns, but I own the plot and the plot bunnies escaped whilst I was camping in Silloth, a really great place near Scotland, and if anyone can give me a reason why I can't, please don't be afraid to review or PM me :) I don't bite, honest!
-Previously-
The house was small, and it was perfect. All we had to do know was decorate it.
Me and mum went to Diagon Alley after we'd sorted the house with my brothers. We went to Flourish and Bolts for me to buy a book on pregnancy, earning "Why not just ask mum, she's the encyclopedia of pregnancy" from Charlie, which resulted in me slapping him around the head.
We went to the Three Broomsticks for lunch, and the boys went off to catch the quidditch score; Puddlemere United vs the Tornadoes. Me and mum walked down to the joke shop to see george and Angie, but were greeted by a note on the door: 'I cannot open the shop at the moment, due to my beautiful wifes condition, please bare with me'
Me and mum laughed, and walked the other way to Madame Malkins. Mum needed some new dress robes for the weddings, and wanted to get fitted. I decided to go and look aroound. Madame Malkins had a section of muggle clothing, and wedding dresses.
"Looking for a wedding dress?" asked a girl from behind the counter. She had brown hair that was up in a ponytail and a fake, wide smile, that was eerily similar to Rita Skeeter. "Um, yes, but I'm not looking to buy." II told her. "Okay-dokey, let's see what we have." She studied me for a while, before noticing my stomach.
"Oh, I see. So your pregnant? Are you going to be... big when you get married, or is your baby going to be born before?" She asked in a sickly sweet voice, that reminded me of Lavender Brown. "No, I'm unsure of this." I spoke slowly, in an attempt to get my annoyance out of my system. "Okaayy... who's the father?" She asked.
My head snapped around. "what's it to you?" She sighed, before wallking towards me. "Is it Harry Potter?" I looked at her. She looked menacing. "Yes" I replied before walking away to where my mum was waiting.
Me and mum went to Gringotts to put some savings in the account before heading home.
When me and mum arrived home, Harry and dad were talking aboout the sights they had seen. I sat on Harrys lap, and he pulled me closer, hands resting on my small bump.
"Buy anything nice?" He asked me. I grabbed my bag and showed him the book. "I got a book" I said plainly. Harry laughed. "I can see." I opened the book to where I was in my pregnancy, and read it out loud:
"10 weeks:
The ears are starting to develop on the sides of your baby's head, and inside the head its ear canals are forming, and if you could look at your baby's face you would be able to see its upper lip and two tiny nostrils in the nose. The jawbones are developing and already contain all the future milk teeth. The heart is now fully-formed. It beats 180 times a minute – that's two to three times faster than your own heart, and the baby is making small, jerky movements which can be seen on an ultrasound scan.
Your baby is now officially a fetus! She's poised for growth and will more than double in size in the next three weeks. Your baby is now swallowing and kicking, and all her major organs are fully developed. More minute details are appearing too, such as fingernails and a little fuzz of hair on her head.
As your baby grows, your uterus (womb) is expanding to accommodate her. Your uterus is now about the size of a grapefruit, almost big enough to fill your pelvis.
You may even be able to feel your uterus above the middle of your pubic bone. Though you probably won't need to buy bigger clothes for several weeks yet, you may notice that your waist is thickening."
I looked down at my bump. Hmm, that's strange. I need clothes at least 2 sizes bigger, just to be baggy. "Mum, I think I'm further than 10 weeks." I stoodup, and my mum examined me. "Hmm... You look around 12 if I'm honest Gin... maybe even more than that! We should go to , just in case" She trailed off.
I picked up the book, and looked at week 12.
"12 weeks:
The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.
Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.
our uterus has grown to the point where your healthcare provider can now feel the top of it (the fundus) low in your abdomen, just above your pubic bone. You may already be into maternity clothes, especially if this isn't your first pregnancy. If you're still fairly small and not yet ready for maternity clothes, you've no doubt noticed that your waist is thickening and that you're more comfortable in loose, less restrictive clothing.
You may begin to feel heartburn (also called acid indigestion), a burning sensation that often extends from the bottom of your breastbone to your lower throat. Many women get heartburn for the first time during pregnancy, and those who've previously had bouts of heartburn may find that it gets worse.
uring pregnancy, the placenta produces a lot of the hormone progesterone, which relaxes the valve that separates the esophagus from the stomach. Particularly when you're lying down, gastric acid can seep back up the pipe, which causes the uncomfortable burning sensation. For many women the problem doesn't begin (or get worse) until later in pregnancy, when your growing uterus starts to push up on your stomach. The discomfort may range from mildly annoying to intense and distracting."
"That sounds more like it" Mum said, nodding as she thought to herself. I looked at Harry, who grabbed my hand. I sat back down and he enclosed me in his arms.
I looked up to him, his gorgeous face and sparkling green eyes. "I love you" I smiled at him as he kissed my mouth. As we broke apart I kissed his lips. "I love you too"
A/N: Sorry about that. I realised that I had been describing Ginny as further along, and so it seems I have. It's a plot twist, okay? ;P More on Their wedding next, and the house is going to be sorted!
