Knight 11

Here's the next chapter. Soon, we'll be back to Hogwarts and I'll be able to do chapters a lot faster. Enjoy.

Disclaimer: I don't own Highschool DxD or Harry Potter.

"Damn it..." Daphne muttered as they walked back towards the base, "Are you sure that was your first time, Potter?"

"Yeah." Harry answered with a bit of a blush, "It... it was easier than I thought it would be."

"'Easier'?" Daphne said incredulously, "It took you about a minute to fly like a bird. You beat out Ny– Tonks on your first time out flying! Meanwhile, I can't even hover!"

"It doesn't really mean anything, Daphne." Tonks assured her, "You'll get the hang of it eventually. Besides that, he was already a natural flier even before he became a devil. Really, that was about what I expected. Don't read too far into it."

"Fine." she sighed, "At least I'm still the better fighter."

"That's the spirit!" Tonks beamed, pushing the door to the main room open, "We're back, Zela."

"And I gather that one of our new recruits is skilled, and the other is... not?" Zela said with an obvious smirk from across the room.

"Yup." Tonks said cheerfully, "So, what the plan now?"

"Think you can make some tea?" She asked, looking down at her watch, "I just received word that we'll be having a guest in about... two minutes."

"Two whole minutes?" Tonks said sarcastically, "Why, I thought I'd have to hurry."

"You do." Zela answered with a perfectly straight face, "I'd also like some snacks. Maybe an apple pie?"

"You realize I wasn't serious, right?" Tonks groaned, walking towards what served as the kitchen for the chamber of secrets.

"You realize I was, right?" Zela answered with a smile, and a red magic circle appeared in the back of the room.

"Bael..." Daphne gasped, staring at the circle in wonder.

"Sairaorg?" Tonks called, "Well, that's a surprise. I haven't seen him in months."

"What's going on?" Harry asked Daphne.

"That circle is the house of Bael." She explained, "It's the highest ranking devil house in existence, ranking just beneath the Four Great Satans as far as influence goes."

"And you're about to meet one of the only people that Zela actually gets along with." Tonks said, reentering the room with a tray of tea and about a dozen small pies, "Sairaorg Bael. He's the oldest son of the Bael family, and like Zela, they don't exactly like him."

"He's not like me." Zela answered, "He's like the opposite of me. But yes, they hate him."

The red light of the magic circle intensified, and a tall young man appeared in the room. However, what really caught Harry's attention was the fact that he was covered in scars and small wounds, and his shoulder was blackened like it had been burned.

Tonks hurriedly placed the tray on the table and ran over, "Sairaorg! Are you alright?!"

"Fine, Tonks." He said with a sigh, "Zela, sorry to bother you on such short notice, and in such a state as well."

"It's fine." Zela answered as Tonks' hands were covered in a soothing green light, "But what happened to you? You said you were a bit beat up, not that someone tried to kill you."

"No more than I tried to kill him." He shrugged, before wincing as Tonks moved on to the blackened shoulder, "I met with my father, and my little brother."

"And which one got you?" Zela asked with a hint of malice in her voice.

"The small cuts are my father's guards." Sairaorg said, reaching for one of the pies with his healthy arm, "The burn's my brothers. He managed a decent attack after I backed him into a corner."

"So, you fought with-" Zela started, but than nodded, "Than am I to assume that you've retaken your right as heir to the Great King?"

Sairaorg smiled fiercely, "You are. It's best this way."

"Than congratulations." Zela said.

"You know, you could do it easily enough if you tried." Sairaorg commented, "Sona's talented, but I honestly can't see you losing to her. Or to anyone for that matter."

"I've no interest in that family." Zela replied, "Sona can keep it. She'll be a princess, and I'll be Satan. That's all I care about."

"Somehow, I knew you'd say that." Sairaorg smiled again, "Still, that's not the only reason I came here." Inclining his head to Tonks, he added, "Though you have my thanks, Tonks. As always you're healing is superb. The reason I came here is to ask for a favor, Zela."

"Name it." she said, pouring them each a cup of tea.

"My mother... I don't think I can trust the Bael's with her care." He said with a sense of urgency, "I'd like to have her transferred to the Sitri's."

"I agree that it wouldn't be smart to let her remain there, so I'll see what I can do."

"Zela, thank you." Sairaorg said, bowing his head, "I'd better go. Kuisha's with her now, but it'd be best to make sure that no one can try anything."

"I owe Misla that much." Zela said, waving it off, "I'll go and talk with Sona. It'll be easier to have her deal with the official side of things. I'll stop in and see you once I've gotten everything straightened out."

"I can't thank you enough." He bowed again before walking back to the magic circle, "Tonks, thank you for the healing." For the first time, he glanced at Harry and Daphne, "You two, I'm sorry I don't have more time to talk today. Next time for sure."

As he disappeared, Harry saw Sairaorg's violet eyes staring back into his own emerald ones.

"Harry." Zela called over to him as he prepared to leave that evening, "A quick word before you go."

Looking at her curiously, he returns the Sword of Gryffindor to the alternate space and walked over to her, "What is it?" He asked.

"I talked with Dumbledore this morning." She said, "And I think it's best to let you know now rather than later. Does the name Sirius Black mean anything to you?"

"I can't say it does." Harry shook his head, "Why? What's happened?"

"Sirius Black broke out of Azkaban last night." She continued, "And now we have reason to believe that he's after you. He's a convicted mass murder."

"Why is he after me?" Harry asked her, "What have I done to him?"

"Black's a death eater." Tonks said with an unusual amount of anger for the normally calm 'Queen'.

"So he's after you to score points with the big man." Zela sighed, "I'm liking this even less now. Still, I can't deny that I've got a few questions. Think you can help me with that, Harry?"

"You want to do what?" Dumbledore said, looking at Zela in utter disbelief.

"I'm sending Harry out of the school to try and lure Black out into the open." She repeated herself, "You wanted to talk with him, didn't you?"

"Of course I do, but you're using Harry as bait to catch a man who might want to kill him!" He protested, "I cannot permit Harry to take a risk like this!"

"There's no risk." She countered, "I'm having Nymphadora guard him, and even without her, I can't see Harry losing to a human. Besides, I explained the plan to him, and he's all for it."

"He's just a child." Dumbledore replied, shaking his head, "Black's killed before, and if there's even a one-percent chance of him succeeding, I'm not willing to risk Harry's life."

Sighing, Zela decided to force the issue, "Look, I came to see you as a courtesy. We're going through with it one way or another."

After letting that sink in for a few minutes, Dumbledore collpased back into his chair, "Is there nothing I can do to convince you to change your mind?" He asked half-heartedly, and she shook her head.

"I'm willing to work out the details with you, but no, I won't change my mind." She replied, "So, your decision?"

"So, that's the plan." Zela announced to them shortly after returning from her meeting, Dumbledore following just behind, though he remained silent throughout the explanation. "Harry, is all that alright with you?"

"I can't just stand back and do nothing." Harry answered her, looking past her to Dumbledore who he suspected was the real reason she asked, "If the reason that I'm training is to finally kill Voldemort once and for all, than I might as well start with his second in command."

"Sounds like your mind is made up." Dumbledore sighed deeply in response before he looked to Zela, "I'll talk to Molly and the Weasleys. Perhaps we can move Harry to their home some time next week."

"That's good. Nymphadora, think you can go ahead of time and form a web?" Zela said to her queen.

"I'll go now." Tonks replied, standing up, "How tight?"

"I want to know if a squirrel so much as buries a nut within a three mile radius." She said, "Daphne, think you can throw in a few spells of your own?"

"You're asking?" Daphne and Tonks said, sharing a small grin before they walked towards the magic circle and disappeared.

"Well, headmaster, is there anything else?" Zela asked.

"I'll head back to my office." Dumbledore said, "Could you..?"

"Certainly." She replied, snapping her fingers. A blue circle briefly appeared beneath him, and he disappeared with it. With it just the two of them, Zela let out a small sigh, "So, Harry, it's a bit later than we'd intended, but are you ready to get started on your devil work?"

"Devil work?" Harry asked before remembering part of his conversation from the other day, "The pacts?"

"That's right." she nodded, "The pacts. Now, ordinarily, you'd start off with sending out summons to our clients, but since it's just you and me tonight, you'll be heading out to make some pacts. I'll deal with summons. Meanwhile, you'll travel through the magic circle to answer the summons. Hold out your left hand." She said as a faint blue light surrounding one of her fingers.

Harry did as instructed and extended his hand. With the glowing finger she slowly traced the magic circle housing the sword of Gryffindor. Once she finished, the mark glowed blue before returning to normal, "This marks you as my representative." she explained, "In other words, you can now make pacts as a servant of Zela Sitri. With it, I can direct your teleport to a client's house, as well as summon you back once you're done."

Reaching into her pocket, she handed him a small digital watch, "This is for you as well. I'll be giving you a cell phone eventually, but for now this'll do. Once you get to client's location, press this button on the side-" she demonstrated, and the watch face suddenly faded to reveal a small devil in the corner, "To enter pact mode. When in the presence of a being who seeks to make a pact with a devil, it will detect their wish, and the price required to fulfill it. There's a certain amount of leeway, and you're encouraged to barter. I'll leave that to your discretion. When you reach a deal, the watch will handle the rest. You just collect the payment and come back. Easy enough?"

"Yeah." Harry answered after she finished the more than adequate explanation, "But why am I doing this? I mean, shouldn't it be the other way around?"

"Probably." she admitted, "But there's two reason it's not. First, I want you to get as much experience as possible before you go to the Weasleys. Once you're there, I doubt you'd be able to make any pacts without attracting attention, so that'll be your time off. Aside from the obvious, of course."

"And the second? Harry asked, "Reason, I mean."

"I can't stand making pacts." she answered easily, creating a magic circle on her palm. A single insect flew from her hand and landed on his shoulder, "If you need any help, this little guy will let me know, and I'll be along. Think that you're ready?"

"I'll give it a shot." Harry said, accepting the watch from her and putting it on his wrist.

The magic circle in the back glowed in response, and Zela stepped aside, "Than it seems that you've a job to do, Harry. Good luck."

Nodding his head, Harry walked into the center of the magic circle, and the light grew blinding as the chamber disappeared.

When Harry opened his eyes again, he was surprised to see that his devil wings were visible without his will. He was standing inside of a magic circle in a large, well lit open chamber. Standing before him was an elderly man with a silver beard, dressed in green and silver armor.

"Am I to assume you are the devil I will be doing business with tonight?" He asked politely as he gestured towards a nearby table with two glass and a bottle of wine, "Would you care for a drink before we talk business?"

"I can't drink." Harry answered, "Too young."

"It's a surprise to hear a devil concerned with something as minor as the drinking age." the old man chuckled, "I'll be back in just a moment."

"No need." Harry insisted, but the man just chuckled and kept walking out of the room. Left alone in the open room, Harry sat at the table and waited. Looking down at the watch, he saw the locust that Zela had placed on his shoulder was now on the watch, and he realized that he'd forgotten to turn on the pact mode.

"Is pumpkin juice alright?" the man asked, returning to the room with a pitcher of orange juice.

"Fine." Harry replied as he straightened up.

"Usually, Tonks is the one I speak with." He explained, pouring Harry a cup of juice while he poured his own wine, "So, I admit that I was prepared for her."

"She had something she had to do tonight, so I got picked to fill in." Harry answered, "Thanks for the drink."

"Of course." He replied, taking his seat across from him.

"So, I notice that you're new to this?" He said after a minute.

"How'd you guess?" Harry asked with a small smile, though he was mostly embarrassed that he'd been found out so easily.

"I've been doing this for a long time." He smiled back, "So I can tell. Luckily, its a fairly simple wish today, so it shouldn't be any problems."

"What is it?" Harry asked him.

"Tomorrow is my granddaughter's birthday." He replied, "And there's a particular present she wanted, but I won't be able to get it in time. I'm sure that it seems like a rather tame request, but when you get to be my age, you'll find that there are far fewer things that would be truly worth calling up a devil."

Looking down at his watch, Harry saw a quick loading symbol before it displayed an amount. "According to this, the price is $450."

Nodding his head, the man reached into his pocket and withdrew a small silver pendant with a sapphire center, "I trust this will be sufficient?"

The mark on Harry's watched changed to a check mark, and a magic circle appeared on the table in front of them. A neatly wrapped package appeared from the circle.

"A pleasure doing business with you." The man said, handing the pendant to Harry, "Just in case we meet again, my name is Dan Blackmore."

"Harry Potter." Harry said as he stepped back into the circle.

"I know." Dan said before Harry disappeared.

When he reappeared, he was back in the chamber of secrets. Zela was sitting on the chair as usual, hardly even acknowledging his return, "Good work." She said to him without turning back, "Now sit for a bit. I don't think it'll be long before we get another one."

"Lucius." Voldemort said softly as he walked into the kitchen, and the three Malfoys sitting there jumped in fright.

"M-M-My lord!" Lucius squeaked, throwing himself to the floor, "I didn't think you'd be join us-"

"Crucio." Voldemort sneered, and Lucius screamed in agony as his wife and son watch, horror-stricken, "It has been over two weeks since Sirius Black escaped, and you're no closer to bringing him to me, are you?"

"M-My lord..!" Lucius cried out under the powerful cure, "I-I just n-need a b-bit more t-time!"

"Lucius..." He said softly with a smile, "That's all you needed to say."

The curse ended as soon as Voldemort finished, and Lucius straightened up, "Thank you." He breathed a sigh of relief.

"I will be leaving for Albania." Voldemort replied, turning his back to Lucius, "If you haven't made some progress by the time I return, I believe I may be forced to find a new lieutenant."

Without looking back, he walked out the doors leaving the entire Malfoy family white as a sheet.

It had taken a little over two weeks for Harry to finally adjust to the late night jobs. Three times he'd helped Daphne with delivering summons by broom, while the rest he helped Tonks with making the pacts. Twice a week, Zela'd vanish for a night to deal with a stray, but judging from the lack of visible wounds and the copious amounts of blood all over her, she hadn't fought anything that posed any real threat to her.

After all that time, Harry was only just managing to keep himself going after staying up until the early morning. It must be a devil thing, but his body had managed to adjust itself to only a few hours of sleep each night with no ill effects.

After showering and changing for the day ahead, Harry walked down the stairs to the common room to find the familiar sight of Tonks and the less familiar sight of Zela joining her.

"Morning." Zela said cheerfully, "Good news. Tonight, you're heading to the Weasleys. Our plan's about to start."

That afternoon, Harry stepped out of the emerald flames into the burrow's kitchen. He was met, as expected, by the entire Weasley family. Mrs. Weasley hurried forward and threw her arms around him as soon as he'd managed to dust himself off, "Harry..." She said tearfully.

"Harry." Mr. Weasley said as he walked to his wife's side, "What she wanted to say is that no one blames you for what happened. You're not to blame for Gi-" He choked up, and Mrs. Weasley started to cry even harder. Mr. Weasley placed a hand on his wife's shoulder and continued, "Ginny's death wasn't your fault. None of us blame you for it. You-Know-Who's the one responsible."

"I know." Harry said, hugging the weasley matriarch and looking Arthur in the eye, "And I'll deal with Voldemort. The next time I see him, it'll be vengeance time. For Ginny, and for my parents too."

"Thank you, Harry." Arthur smiled sadly.

"Now come on." Mrs. Weasley sniffled, letting go of him and dragging him into the dining room, "It's almost time for dinner. Goodness, doesn't Hogwarts feed you during the summer?"

I know some people are going to complain that I didn't show the Weasleys grieving much (it'll be barely brought up next chapter), but my excuse is this. I suck at writing grieving scenes. Frankly, it would have taken me weeks to get it exactly right if I'd tried to extend it or go more in depth, and I don't think anyone wanted that. So I'll let you fill in exactly how much Molly cried, the twins punched walls, and Ron threw tantrums with your mind.

Now, a quick question for the reviewers out there. I've got two story ideas for stories similar to Knight of Sitri. One being a story where Harry is recruited by the church, and another where he joins Grigori as a Scared Gear user. So, basically a story for each of the great powers. Is anyone interested in me writing said stories? For the time being, I won't be making a poll, but I'd still like to hear your thoughts.

Next chapter, the plan is carried out, you might learn a little bit of Tonks' past with Zela, and, with any luck, we're back to Hogwarts for the start of the third year.
