The John Hart Solution

Chapter 11: oops, wrong hat…

Just a tension breaker to get me back in the mood for writing. Anyone else see Doctor Who's 50th anniversary special yesterday? You know I did! ;) At least, you will after reading this.

No warnings really, spoilers for the "Day of the Doctor" 50th Anniversary special. John ruining it (and the pointing out of plot holes. It is my purpose in life… why do you think I love watching Star Trek?!)

BREAK_

"– We're confusing the polarity!" Doctor 10 yelled at Doctor 11, waving his screwdriver about menacingly.

"Well it isn't…" Doctor 11 started to argue, when the anomaly spat out something else. A MAN.

"Oh…" John stood up, glancing between the two Doctors. "Wrong Temporal Anomaly. And are there two of you?" He squinted, shaking his head. The Doctors looked guiltily at each other.

"Umm… Yes?" They answered in unison, hesitant. Whatever issues either one of them had with memory, they both remembered one very specific Time Agent.

"Damnit, now the bloody Paradoxal Continuum around here is giving me a headache. Stupid Gallifreyans." The last part was a mutter, but John deliberately spoke so that both of them could hear him.

"Oi!" 11 responded to that, indignant. "I'll have you know that I'm old enough to be your distant ancestor. You should show some respect, Hart!"

"Yep. But you're still younger than my best friend." John replied smoothly, flipping open his Vortex Manipulator. "Seriously, 1562? What, were you planning makin' an honest woman out of the virgin queen or something?"

10 had the decency to look ashamed. John visible started. "Wait, you – holy crap! You actually were?!"

"Not on purpose." Doctor 10 attempted to defend himself, but Doctor 11 interrupted.

"And what do you mean, your best friend? Have you gone and forgot how to count? Nothing lives longer than Time Lords."

"Except Jack." John supplied, causing both Doctors to groan.

"What did he do now?"

"He erm…" John shuffled his feet guiltily. "Iburiedhimundergroundfor2000yearsbecasuehisbabybrotherwentnuts." John spilled out in one breath. The doctors looked at each other warily.

"So you mean that Jack is over 2000 years old?"

"Well, yeah."

At that moment, the anomaly spat out a second man, this time older, dressed in steampunk-ish garb.

"Did anyone lose a Fez?"

"Goddess, three of you. That's all I need. Now I've got a migraine." John growled, typing rapidly in his wrist strap. "You lot can deal with this. I need to get some parts to fix Jack's VM."

And with that, he disappeared once more.

"Ahh…" the older man seemed cautious, with good reason. "I'm, ah, looking for the Doctor." He added another thought after that. "Please tell me that Wasn't him."

"It wasn't him." 10 replied coldly. "Just an old friend."

BREAK_

Anyone else wonder how Jack's Vortex Manipulator (VM as I call them) wound up having the time-travel function working again? Seeing as the Doctor broke it about 3 times? Well, what if that was John's wedding gift to Jack and Ianto? Plot hole fixed.

REVIEW! The reason this took so long was lack of input. I have no ideas and writers block on my backup chapter (Except for an interlude I'm working on) SO REVIEW!
