-Mira-

"Mira! You made it!" Bolin yelled running into the room. The red headband cover their heads protectively bobbed up and down. "How did you like it? Pro-Bending is awesome is it?! It's freaking awesome!"

"Okay Bolin, it was decent." I said blatantly, "It was very... modern."

I sighed, "Bolin, It was very good entertainment, but as a non-bender at a new event. I had no idea what was going on except you couldn't pass any lines. I felt restricted sitting down the whole time and it was annoying hearing people yell the whole time. I am sorry but from my first experience, I have found no favor in this source of entertainment."

"You're starting to sound like Lin. Stop it's creepy!" Bolin announced. His eyes dilated, he whipped around and then cried, "It is Lin!"

She stood there, unnanounced and unopposed. The teenagers, still in a circle, turn the direction Bolin is facing. I move forward. I was angry now. Two days in a row, full control, full of dark energy. Lin and her bad juju was probably here for me. I hate her for it.

"Lin, Why are you here?" I sighed, "Why are you doing this?"

"Oh, thanks for the notice! You come stalking in here, shoot down pro-bending, just to say that you are picking me up? What if I didn't need a ride? Huh?" I got closer to her, my voice calmed down. She had the same police outfit on.

"How does your outfit not smell like BO and Rust?" I did that thought come from? Bolin stifled a giggle, Lin did not seem amused, but she wasn't angry. It was the normal Lin. "Sorry guys I guess I will catch up with you later."

Lin nodded over to Mako, "I need him."

I smiled, then I sighed. It had clicked that I had no way home. I could have walked but it was near three in the morning, not seven pm, when I had left.

They disappeared.

Aggghhhhh! Excruciating pain seared up my arm. My veins bulged, my muscles cramped and my lungs spazzed out. I choked and soon my eyes dilated, I wasn't able to recognize the dilation nor could Nanna, however this is from the account of the Badgermole's.

This was my twelfth time being injected by a quill with poison. This time, after six months of training, I had become immune to Poizou, except, Nanna decided to use the poison of the pythoconda and she mixed it with Poizou, and stabbed me with the quill of a puffer-toad. Anything to make me tougher right?

I don't remember anything after that injection except that poison immunization thirteen, fourteen and fifteen had the same amount of toxin, but the effects, thank the Avatar, became less and less.

"Mira, come sit. There is much you still must learn. It takes years to master earth bending. But as you have the basics of earth. It will be easier to learn its sub-bending energies also."

I sighed, now she wants me to learn more on top of this. I was still recovering from the poison. The earth around me continued to throb a deep pounding. Something was coming. I wasn't prepared. I bowed, respectfully, waiting, and hoping that it was something peaceful.

Asami stood with the rest of everyone. I went to my last resort. Never would I ask to stay with the avatar and the the boys stayed with her. So I walked to Asami and the rest of the people and I looked down, embarrassed.

"Hey Bolin, Korra, Asami."

I said.

"Hey Mira! What's up?" He noticed my posture. That all did. Only Bolin would ask though. "Lin walked off, huh? Need a ride home?"

"Ha yeah. Or a place to stay." I looked up at the gracious faces of the group. "Lin probably doesn't care where I go at this point. I just don't have money."

"I can help you with that." Asami answered. She didn't smile, but I knew it was from exhaustion of the days work.

"Thank you so much!" I cry in relief. Three in the morning is an inconvenient time to solve problems.

"Asami," I pause, "May I stay the night at your place?"

"Yes, You can stay with me." She said, wiping moisture off her leather jacket. "We can drop Korra and Bolin at the docks. And then head to my place."

"Thank you," I whispered, my voice weary from the late night and the stress of the current situation.

It emerged, coming from the ground. A beast I had never seen before. There was no light. No jewels shimmered and no shadows danced. I could feel the earth tremble. The shape of this creature was unknown, but it was huge!

"What do you sense?" A voice told me. It wasn't mine. It wasn't even words, not any sort of telepathy. It was my gut. The part of my stomach that throbs when I bend. That reassures me I can bend and that I am strong. The place where I cramp up when I exercise after consuming too much food.

I realized then that I was reading something in the earth. An energy flowing like water through the earth, surging with life. It was new and it felt good.

"Mira." A voice broke me from my trance of focus. It was Nanna. "You feel it? You sense the voice and you have much to learn. Can you see with the earth?"

"Nanna, I don't know! I am scared." I stammered.

"Why are you scared young one?"

It was hard for me to focus, but, out of the darkness and the trials. I really wasn't in the mood to talk.

"Little Badgermole. You can hear me. Close your eyes and try to find me."

"But I can't." I cry, I held my eyes shut, tightly.

"Mira, listen." says Nanna softly.

"Do you see me?" a sensation crawled up my spine. My mind understood but my ears didn't hear a word. I closed my eyes and trusted my senses.

"Yes." I stated matter of factly. Then I thought to myself, I don't know what they want. I cannot respond. I am tired and done with training for today.

"Youngling, do you not know who I am?"

"No sir," I said.

"We will not do much today." The energy surged through the earth, the pulse changed and the subject also. I could feel his emotions. One of the few skills I have mastered with Nanna.

"Who said you were in charge?" I question turning to walk away. The earth rotated and I face the beast again.

"How do you not know who I am." It spoke harshly and then calmed down and came closer, "Of course. You are a youngling. Little badgermole, I am Palat. Son of Kifu and Vera, descendants of the first earth benders. I am trained and hold secrets of earth-bending. I am from the world and traveler between the two worlds. I am master, and pupil of the earth we live in. Now, who are you?"

"Bye Bolin! Great job tonight!" we chorused as our buddy left the satomobile. It was the two of us and it had reached near four in the morning. How we managed to stay awak, I don't know, but we did. Her house was huge, beautiful and nothing I had seen before.

We entered and to the left of the entance was a hallway leading to conference rooms and before us stairs led upstairs to bedrooms. There was another hallway leading right of the stairs straight ahead, bringing us to the kitchen and dining room one. Connected to the far side of the spacious kitchen full of private chefs, was dining room number two. Connected to dining room two were three smaller adjacent rooms for private tea chats, for different meetings, and for private meals.

Hiroshi Sato's office was upstairs, along with the guest rooms. From the double doored entance, the balcony of the upstairs wrapped around three walls and sky-light let in light from outside. The house was dark tonight, the few lights on led to the kitchen and the hallways. The chefs and maids have long retired for the night and only one person stayed awake. Jun-Jun.

Jun-Jun was Asami's former tutor and current assistant. She was in her mid-sixties and practically raised Asami. So I've been told. She was shorter with a head full of very well colored hair. very few streaks of silver shimmered in the dim candle-light. Still unfamiliar with electricity, Jun-Jun was a penny-pincher who cared more for candle-sticks than electric bill. If Jun-Jun had the choice, they would be living in a small vacation-sized home in the earth-kingdom from which she was born.

After his wife died, Hiroshi Sato fell into deep depression and went full force into his business. Only three months after his wife's death, did he emerge with the promised, Satomobile. The hallways were decked with photos of Asami and Hiroshi. Jun-Jun was there for the family every step of the way and basically became Asami's God-Mother. I learned all of this during the tour the next day, but all I remember from the previous night was me crashing asleep.

Jun-Jun led us upstairs. I had the room across the hall from Asami. It was a quaint room. A queen-size bed sat in the center of a cute, pale blue color scheme. Water was set by the bed-side. and a small plate full of rolls, butter and jam. It was ready for the morning that would soon arrive in an hour or two. We had unanimously agreed to no one bothering us until we had had sufficient sleep. After laying down, covered with Jun-Jun's hand-made quilts. I fell into a deep slumber, full of reminiscence.
