Peter White's P.O.V.

My shoulder hurt like hell. As Elisa and I walked towards her house, I kept wincing but I tried to keep it minimal. I didn't want to worry her. Elisa walked ahead of me, like a woman with a purpose. I knew that was true. While Elisa didn't come from Wonderland, she had grown to love it and me. She would do anything to save it, if it meant saving me.

Elisa walked around to the right side of her house. There was ivy hanging on the wall and Elisa began to climb. I sighed and followed her. I used my good arm to pull myself up. It really hurt, but I could climb. As soon as she got to the top of the wall, I heard Elisa knock on a window. The window had a bright light emitting from it. A couple of minutes passed before I heard the window slide open.

"Elisa?" I heard a soft voice ask.

"The one and only," she said smiling.

"Come on in," she replied.

Elisa nodded and tumbled inside. I somehow managed to make it inside as well. I looked around and saw that this must be Elisa's sister, Maddie's room. The walls were painted a light pink with blue wave patterns on the bottom of the walls. A medium sized bed sat in one corner, covered in stuffed animals. I also noticed a small bookshelf. It held picture books. I was still examining the room, when Maddie spoke, startling me.

"Where have you been?" Maddie cried, attacking her sister verbally.

Elisa sighed, "Tell me something first. How long have I been gone?"

"Six months," Maddie replied frowning.

"I-," Elisa started.

"Who are you?" She asked turning to me.

I looked at her and gaped. She was a miniature version of Elisa. Her red hair was in pigtails and she had freckles. The same green piercing eyes as my sweetheart were fixed on me. I laughed nervously, "I'm Peter White and I'm Elisa's boyfriend."

She looked at her sister and then back at me, then back to her sister. "Is that true sis?"

Elisa nodded, "Yes Maddie. He's my boyfriend."

She nodded, "He is cute, but why does he have rabbit ears and look like a character out of that book, Alice in Wonderland?"

Elisa smiled, "Because he is from the Country of Hearts, and it is Wonderland."

Maddie gaped at me. "For real?"

Elisa nodded and I merely smiled back.

Maddie squealed, "Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! That's so cool!"

"Wait—Peter White? Are you the white rabbit?"

I chuckled, "Yes. I can transform into a rabbit if you'd like."

Maddie nodded and I saw her eyes sparkle with delight.

I transformed then and stared up at Elisa and Maddie. "Oooh he's so adorable!" She cried out.

Elisa laughed and scratched her face.

"Thanks," I said.

"So Maddie, you don't seem to be disbelieving us about Wonderland," Elisa observed.

Maddie looked at her sister, "Of course not. You know I've always believed in it and Peter is living proof!"

Elisa smacked her forehead and I let out a groan.

"What's wrong?" Maddie questioned.

"Well Maddie, Wonderland is falling apart because someone close to me doesn't believe in it anymore. I was sure it was you. That's why Peter and I came here, to try to convince you to believe again and make Wonderland right again."

Maddie frowned, "Oh." Her eyes became crestfallen.

"Wonderland is in danger?" She asked, tears beginning to form in her eyes.

"Yes Maddie, do you know of anyone who wouldn't believe in Wonderland anymore?" I questioned.

She shook her head, "No I don't. Elisa doesn't know many little kids, besides me."

Elisa sighed, "It's true. Most of my friends are around my age."

"What are we supposed to do then?" I said my ears flopping down.

Elisa looked dejected, "I really don't know Peter."

"We can't go back to Wonderland though, it's too dangerous," Elisa added.

I nodded, "I agree and with my shoulder hurt I'm nearly useless there."

Maddie frowned, "What's wrong with your shoulder?"

"A piece of ceiling landed on it, and now it feels broken," I explained.

Maddie appeared to be contemplating how to fix it. She looked cute when she did this. "Hold on," she said and put me down gently. When she returned she had a handkerchief. "Which shoulder hurts?" She asked. "My left one," I said. She nodded and wrapped it around my shoulder tightly. For someone so little, she sure seemed to be an expert in wrapping up shoulders. "How did you do that?" I asked astonished. Maddie blushed, "I took girl scouts and they showed me all sorts of useful things, including how to bandage a shoulder."

Elisa grinned, "You rock sis!"

"Thanks!" Maddie said beaming.

I transformed into my man form again and tested out the bandage. It had grown to fit me and I was astonished at how tight yet comfortable it felt. "Wow, you did a great job, Maddie," I gushed.

Maddie laughed, "It's not a big deal."

I shook my head, "I beg to differ. You have some real talent."

Her face turned red and she looked away from me. How cute, she acted just like Elisa.

"We'll be staying here Maddie, that is until we find out who the disbeliever is," Elisa said.

Maddie nodded. "Mom and dad thought you had run away because you had a secret boyfriend," Maddie said. She laughed, "I guess that was sort of true."

Elisa laughed, "You could say that. But Peter was the one who kidnapped me."

Maddie smirked, "Falling in love with your kidnapper? Tsk tsk."

Elisa smiled fondly at her sister, "I know but Peter's truly my soul mate."

Maddie grinned, "That's sweet."

I listened to the two of them talk, smiling the entire time. They were really close and so jovial towards each other. It was refreshing to see people get along so well. Half the time Tweedle Dee and Dum were at each other's throats for one reason or another.

"Your old room's still down the hall if you want to stay there while you're here," Maddie said.

Elisa smiled, "Thanks. I think we'll leave you alone. It's late."

Maddie giggled, "You always used to scold me for staying up too late. But with you gone I kind of got in the habit of staying up later and later."

"I'm sorry I was gone for so long. If you'd like you could come to Wonderland with us once this whole mess is cleared up," Elisa said.

Maddie smiled, "I might when I'm older and out of the house. I don't want to break mom and dad's hearts again."

Elisa nodded sadly. We left Maddie's room and headed toward Elisa's. It was very dark in the rest of her house but we found her room quickly. I closed the door behind us and Elisa crawled into bed. I went after her. We lay down together and I wondered just how scared she was. She might never see Wonderland again if we didn't get this resolved. The scary part was I might not either.
