"So, what do we do," Sonic asked the group, "I mean, we're going to the party, but what's the plan," he wondered.

"Well, we go the party and just have a good time, and when Ganondorf shows up, we stay alert in case he pulls anything," Mac explained.

"Alright, sounds like a good plan. We'll meet tonight outside the main hall before the party. Do we need to dress nice? I don't look good in a tux," Sonic stated.

"Nah, just come as you are. Which is what you look like now," stated Zelda. Sonic nodded and smiled, "Alright then, let's go. We'll see you tonight, girls," Sonic said as Mac and him waved goodbye and left. The girls waved and went their way. Each one of them getting ready for the party.

In the basement, Ganondorf sat in the center of the room, meditating. He wanted to harness more of the dark energy. He just kept a still and silent mind. All the while Dark Pit and Bowser stood and watched, not disturbing their leader.

Suddenly, Ganondorf's energy started to flux. It started to become heavy, and the air got thinner. He let out a wave of Dark energy that shook the mansion, breaking the walls, floors, and ceiling in the basement. It was strong enough to send his two accomplices flying. They were trembled at their leader's strong energy. For even a few seconds, you could see his true form in the shadows, this was the Ganondorf everyone feared.

A few moments later, the energy flux went down, and the room returned to normal. Ganondorf rose from meditation, and both his servants fell to their knees, "We are overwhelmed by your great power, o great one," groveled the two followers, "We are here to serve you in the coming days." Ganondorf smiled at his two servants humility, "Good, I will need your powers to help me accomplish my goal at being champion this year. Do your jobs right, and you will each get a just reward," He ordered them.

"FATHER," yelled a group of voices. Bowser shuddered in astonishment. He rose to see his kids entering, all hurt from their previous encounters with Sonic and his group. They each fell to the ground sobbing in pain. "Father, we have made a big mistake. Our cover was blown. Sonic and his group discovered that it was you who sent us to spy on them," they said shamefully.

Bowser jumped back in fear, "WHAT! You messed up our leader's plans. How did they discover you? Wait, no, I don't want to know. You have failed me miserably," shouted the reptile.

"They have done their jobs," said Ganondorf. Bowser turned in amazement, he couldn't believe what he said, "What do you mean they did their jobs. They've messed up the plan," Bowser argued.

"You're wrong, they only found out that you sent them to spy on them. It didn't involve me. Everything is still on course. Sonic and his team will only be looking at you thinking that you are the cause of the trouble. Not me. It's perfect. You should congratulate them…", Ganondorf suggested.

"What?...Oh, okay, I get it," Bowser replied, now understanding his leader's plans. He then turned to face his kids, "I'm sorry, kids. I was wrong. You have done a great job. Everything is still as it should be. You've got Sonic looking at me instead of our leader. Great job," Complimented the reptile.

The Koopalings stood in shock, and then smiled, "Thank you, dad."

Ganondorf turned to face the Koopalings, "You have done a great service, it's time for me to step in." Bowser looked surprised, "What are you going to do, my leader? I should have to do something about this," pleaded the lizard. Ganondorf held up a hand to pause him. "No, no, you see, they've set up everything perfectly. Now I will make an appearance. It's a perfect set up for the party tonight. You, Koopalings, will be coming should anything get out of hand. Dark Pit and Bowser, you will be needed to guard me in case of trouble. Now's the time to get ready. Go and prepare yourselves," He ordered.

"A PARTY! YAY," the Koopalings yelled in excitement. They ran off to prepare for the party that night. Bowser and Dark Pit bowed to their leader and each went to their rooms to get ready as well. Ganondorf stood there all alone. He smiled, "Everything's going according to plan," He laughed maniacally as he thought about his plan.

That night, Every fighter was down in the main hall as the party began. Everyone was mingling and chatting the night before they would begin their quests to be champion. Sonic and Mac were outside the hall waiting for the girls.

"Where are they? How long does it take girls to get ready, Mac," asked an impatient Sonic. "I don't know, but they're girls, we have to respect them. They like to look their bests for occasions like this," Mac explained. Sonic just looked away and tapped his foot, getting annoyed by the girls late entrance.

"Hey boys, we're here," the girls yelled. Mac and Sonic turned to look at them. Both of the girls descended the staircase, dressed in the finest attire from their kingdoms. The boys stood there in astonishment at their beauty. They couldn't say anything.

"So what do you think," Zelda said as she approached Mac. He was speechless. "Mac thinks you look great," Sonic said on Mac's behalf. Zelda giggled at the compliment.

"Sonic, what do you think of me," Lucina asked him. Sonic blushed a little at the question, but answered, "You look stunning. You'll blow every girl here out of the water," He complimented. Lucina just blushed at his compliment.

"Well, let's go," Sonic suggested. They all left together and went to the party.

For the most part, the party was turning out great. Everyone was enjoying themselves. Even Sonic and the group was having a good time.

"Lucina, you look great tonight. I can't say it enough. You really blew me away at how you look," Sonic said. She just turned away and blushed.

"Thank you, Sonic. You look great as you normally do," She joked. They each laughed.

"Those two look great together. Don't they Mac," Zelda asked Mac. Mac, who was still blown away by Zelda's looks responded, "Yes, we..I mean they do. Yes, they do," He looked over at his roommate, seeing how nervous he was. He looks scared. He needs help. I got it. "Let's dance, Zelda. If we dance, that will help them want to dance as well. It's a win-win for all of us," He suggested. Zelda, surprised by Mac's idea, smiled and said, "That's a great idea. Let's do it. Let's dance," Mac took Zelda out on the floor, and they started dancing together.

Sonic and Lucina looked to see their two roommates enjoying themselves out there. Sonic shrugged, "Well, if those two can enjoy themselves, so can we. Wanna dance, Lucina," Sonic asked. Lucina, blushing at the request, simply nodded. Sonic took her by the hand and walked out to the dance floor.

All four of them were enjoying their dancing. Things were going great, when Master Hand appeared.

"Hello, Ladies and gentlemen. Hope you are enjoying yourselves tonight. Now, without any further ado, I present our previous years' champion, Ganondorf," Master hand said and then disappeared.

Everyone stopped dancing and turned towards the top of the stairs in the Main hall. Sonic and the group now looked up. In came the master of darkness, dressed in a fine attire. He bowed to everyone as they clapped out of fear, and, for some, appreciation. Some started yelling, "Speech, Speech, Speech…," so he calmed them down.

"Thank you my fellow fighters. It's my pleasure to be your champion. As you know, it's a new year and a new league. This year marks new beginnings for some, but a new challenge for others. As you know, I was last year's champion, and I proved myself to be that strong. Now, this year, we have a bigger field of warriors and more of a chance to have a different champion. So, without anything more to say, good luck and good fighting tomorrow," Ganondorf declared. There was a mixed reception from the speech. Sonic and the group could only gaze and watch as their mutual foe made his way down from the stairs and joined the group.

Sonic and his friends watched him closely the rest of the party. Ganondorf was just acting normal, not setting off any problems. Sonic couldn't take his eyes away from the warlock.

Ganondorf could see that the hedgehog was watching him, but decided not to act just yet. He waited and bided his time. Then, during the last moments of the party, he made his move. He walked over to, motioning to his group. As everyone left, except for Sonic, Mac, Lucina, and Zelda, Ganondorf approached them all.

"It was a pleasure to see you, Sonic and friends. I hope you enjoyed yourselves," He said. "I'm on to you, Ganondork," He insulted the villain. Ganondorf just sneered, "Insults. Why are you throwing insults at me, I have done nothing wrong," He complained.

"Oh, really. Wasn't it one of you friends here who sent his kids after us," Sonic said while looking at Bowser.

"Watch what you say about my dad. He was just nervous about you guys. You've got no right to say anything mean after what you did to us," Bowser Jr. said.

"You brat, you guys were spying on us in the first place. It was your dad who ordered you to do so. Don't you dare say we were in the wrong," Zelda said standing face to face to the younger turtle.

"Don't you dare talk to my kid like that," Bowser said, "He was just doing as he was told. He's innocent. If you have a problem, take it up with me," He said standing between the two.

"Oh yeah, you're one to talk. If I had the chance, I would punch you one right in the gut for trying to hurt these girls. Trust me, pal. You ever come near us again, and I will guarantee a beating," Mac stated in a rage. Bowser was poised to attack himself.

"Hold on here, you don't have any right to hurt my friend like anything because I'm here. So, you make a move on Bowser, and you'll go down for good. Clear," Dark Pit said pushing Little Mac away. Little Mac was approaching his breaking point. Lucina stopped him.

"Dark Pit, you should watch who you mess with. If you make a move to any of my friends and I'll show you what a sword is good for. Now back off," Lucina threatened.

The two groups stood poised to battle. The tension was deafening. Nobody knew what move to make.

Sonic then held back his group, "Stop, don't attack. Not here, not now. We'll get our chance starting tomorrow. We need to be the bigger people and walk away," Sonic said motioning for his group to leave, "But mark my words, Ganondork, I will stop you this time. Whatever you're planning, I'll be ready. So watch your back," Sonic stated. He walked away, leaving with his group.

Ganondorf stood there smiling, "I'll see you tomorrow, Sonic. We'll see how far you get this year. Good luck," he started to laugh. He and his group left to go to the basement. Both sides ready to attack the other.

And that does it for this chapter. Please review and follow. Thanks again.
