Inuyasha flips through channels on the television, a deep disinterested look in his eyes. He rests on one channel and tosses the remote carelessly on his arm rest. AsThe music of the five O'clock news play and the graphics dances across the screen, Inuyasha makes his self comfortable. He rests his feet on the coffee table just as Sesshomaru moves to slap them down, takes a swig of his suspicious clear drink and scratches through his hair while slouching like a couch potato. He comes into his daily ritual of the news. Sesshomaru got into the news spirit as well, Kagome notices. He immediately closes his laptop upon the sweet fast talking youkai anchor woman. He sits spine straight in his seat, his brow knit together in deep concentration, holding onto every precious word from her mouth.
However, Kagome Higurashi is alternating texting and writing in her finance book of the month for her bakery, preparing it for her business partner and formal youkai owner of her bakery. She could care less for the news unlike her youkai house mates. Inuyasha and Sesshomaru being society figure heads make it a must to keep up-to-date on all news broadcasting and information regarding anything from their opponents or issues that they can do damage control on before the paperwork is sent to their desk (or in Inuyasha's case, his email inbox.) Kagome doesn't understand the importance of watching the news and doesn't make it her ultimate priority to, seeing as though she's not involve in any of their affairs.
Just as she writes down the last calculation in her book, her phone buzzes uncontrollably, she picks it up and bites her lower lip as she scrolls through the text.
Hon, you work too hard. ~Big Ego, Big Sword.
The miko simply rolls her eyes at the message. She furiously texts back.
I do not! I work too un-hard. ~Inuyasha was here!
Don't go making words now, that's not even a word, with a dash and all. ~Big Ego, Big Sword.
In my dictionary, it is. ~Inuyasha was here!
What type of dictionary do you have? -_-* ~Big Ego, Big Sword.
Kagome smiles at the screen, she begins to punch in a reply. As she does, the anchor woman passes the news on to a Neko youkai woman who begins on the story of Renjun Kawanobra. Upon hearing that name, Kagome's head sharply looks up to the television. The caption reads "Pedophile or Not?" The room falls silent as the demoness talks. The video shows Renjun being walked out his home -the very same home they visited not too long ago- in handcuffs and swarm of paparazzi around him. His lawyer awfully familiar with black raven hair down and hugging his body pleasantly as he moves around the screen, covering his client from exposed pictures of the angry face of Renjun. That face unnerves Kagome as she closes the book and sets down her buzzing phone, mesmerized by the angered face of her lover. It sent nostalgic chills down her spine and something inside her longs to soothe him, to make him happy. She feels wholly responsible and shamefully involved in the publication of his past with her. She feels deeply sorry for him.
"Renjun Kawanobra, governor of Kyoto has been charged with counts of pedophilia of a woman by the name of Kagome Higurashi since the young age of six years old. He has been put in jail under no bond until further notice. It is said he's to be put on trial in the spring of next year. No rep could be reach for comment." The Neko youkai says, her ears twitch at her last word. No one spoke, soaking the information in like sponges. Sesshomaru from the corner of his eye watches Kagome carefully for her expression, Inuyasha turns towards her to get the full on expression on her face.
The emotions inside her runs rampant like gears in a machine. The feeling of rejoice sounds in her belly, a party of knots twists around her organs like a stranglehold, knocking the breath out of her. Her head feels like a balloon, filling with uneasiness that is about to burst with no escape to run to. Her throat straining without words, making it hard to formulate the littlest of coherence. But it's hard to decide if these are good feelings or not. She turns to Inuyasha, giving him a weak smile in assurance. In return a small blush blooms across his cheeks as he turns to look away. She turns to look at Sesshomaru, his eyes narrow at the words formulating in her mouth before she even says them.
"Let's celebrate." She breathes out. She stands up, uncertain about what she wants to do at the same time positive that this what people do when they find out their rapist is in jail, right? Then she should celebrate!
"No, Kagome. You need to keep a low profile. The last thing I need is paparazzi having a field day, seeing you in a drunken stupor." Says Sesshomaru, tucking his laptop underneath his arm and shutting off the T.V to the hanyou's displeasure.
"No," She boldly rebuttals. "I should go out, and party because my rapist-the man who took my childhood- is getting justice." She shrugs like it's what everyone does after a situation like this.
"Besides, I resent that comment! I don't get drunken stupors."Kagome picks up her phone, looking down at the lit screen.
Hey, I got this awesome night job when I'm not working the bakery! I got this job at this Burlesque club downtown and I got you tickets if you want to go. ~Epic Edie
And she has just the place to go celebrate.
I'd love to! Mind if I bring some friends? ~Inuyasha was here!
Sure, Ayumi and Yuka are coming too. ~Epic Edie
Kagome stuffs her phone in her pocket and looks at an annoyed lord of the house. She simply smiles at him, unfazed or perturbed at the threatening vibes radiating off him. He strongly disapproves of anything she does but it never amazes him how dependent she is on doing the opposite of what he warned her not to do.
"I'll be ready at seven." She chirps cheerfully, dancing out the room.
Sesshomaru's eyes drags from the empty space where Kagome was at and rests them on Inuyasha's sout expression. Despite Inuyasha is always in a sour mood, Sesshomaru couldn't put his finger on it, but something seems different about the hanyou. He stares at him, eyes cold yet hot with hatred. His jaw clenches tightly and strong, restraining all words from coming out his mouth.
"What is troubling you, ototo-san?" Sesshom,'aru asks his younger brother. Genuinely curious about his brother's sudden flare in temper, Sesshomaru has done nothing to upset the young hanyou and Inuyasha has done nothing for Sesshomaru to have a reason to upset Inuyasha. Not even the thought of Kagome making him mad would make him this mad. What could be truly pecking at him?
"...How did you just do that." He whispers blandly, his eyes crawl on the spot where Kagome once stood, malice and a lick of hatred burning beneath his golden orbs.
"Do what, ototo-san?"
"What I can't." Inuyasha sadly murmurs. His ears falling flat on his head. "How do you make her so happy effortlessly and I can't?"
"I don't have the slightest clue what you're talking about Inuyasha. You sound very childish." Sesshomaru removes his glasses to clean them. He looks at the hanyou with mild interest. He understands Inuyasha is a few hundred years younger than him but games like this should at least be beneath him at this point in his life.
"Childish? Sesshomaru, when I talk to her, it goes into one ear and comes out the other, but when you tell her shit, she takes it like it's fucking scriptures from the book!" The fire in his eyes roars with white hot passion behind his molten liquid gold eyes. "You can't tell me I'm being childish when she listens and stands at your damn feet, I loved her first Sesshomaru and I'll be damned to hell before I let you take away my only happiness again! Who the hell do you think you are!"
Sesshomaru is taken aback by his brother's words and unusual exploding temper. They've never fought like this and never over a female before. What Sesshomaru didn't understand is why Inuyasha feels so threaten by his presence on Kagome? It's not like they're having some type of affair or any of the sorts. She is simply nothing more to him than a pebble in his shoe that constantly finds it's self there when he least wants it to. In many ways she's a hindrance to him as well, always with her problems with Renjun interfering with his business and sooner or later his father will catch up to undone work stacking up unusually in his in box at his office and not in Inuyasha's. Frankly he doesn't even consider what he has with Kagome to be nothing more than housemates, not even close to actual friendship. So what brings on this lash of fury? Because Kagome follows him and turns tricks when he asks her to or the fact she's found him more appealing to her sore eyes than him? Is this puppy not getting enough attention?
"Inuyasha, what are you tal-"
"I heard you. You and her on the night we went to Renjun's. After you and her got into your argument, she totally changed. She's not moping around here or being sorry for herself, she's happy."
"And you not want her to be happy..." Sesshomaru narrows his eyes.
"I do, but I wanted to be the reason why she's happy! Damnit Sesshomaru! I won't let you do her like you do all the rest of them. I won't let you string her along and toss her aside. I'll fucking kill you before I let you hurt her. I'll kill you and Renjun." Inuyasha warningly steps closer to the youkai, his fangs baring and eyes tinting warningly red. Sesshomaru watches as his brother's anger arouse like a feeding flame. He's only seen his brother this angry a hand full of times, even then it wasn't targeted towards him. Inuyasha and their father squared off a number of times back when they lived with the whole family. He's only seen him angry but never thought what he can do to diffuse this moment.
"That's a promise." Inuyasha growls, his face visibly relaxes as his whole posture once in a board stiff position, now mellow down to his slouching posture.
•••
"Why do you insist on pestering with me while I work, Kagome?" Sesshomaru asks, sitting at the kitchen counter, his fingers clicks away at keys. Kagome's body stretches out on the counter, on her back. With her head next to his laptop, her hair spills over the edge with a wide grin on her face.
"How am I pestering?" She asks innocently.
"You are testing the waters." He spares her no glance to see her rolls her eyes.
"No, I'm not. You're pissing yourself off. I'm just here." She rolls over onto her stomach, swinging her legs over, she sits cross legged on the counter now. The youkai closes his eyes, taking his finger and thumb and grips the bridge of his nose, attempting to alleviate an uprising headache. After a moment he reopens them and continues typing, ignoring her whole presence entirely.
"Thank you," She suddenly comes out saying, her eyes full with appreciation and sincerity. "For everything. I don't know where my mind was this couple of months, thank you for pulling me out of my ditch." She reaches for the youkai's hand in which has stop typing for a moment to pay attention to her. Sesshomaru takes her wrist before her fingers could brush his skin. She feels the burning warmth of his hand around her small wrist. After a moment, he lets her wrist go and she rests her hand back in her lap while still feeling the buzzing ghost of his hand on her wrist. She looks up to gaze in caramel-gold eyes, her heart ran laps in her chest and his eyes looks so beautiful; they were looking at the naked color of her soul. She drops her head low to hide to creeping blush blooming across her cheeks. Has his eyes always looked like that? Disinterested at the same time, interesting in its self to watch.
"My friend, Edie works at this Burlesque club at nights. Inuyasha and I are going out to celebrate, it just wouldn't be fun if we didn't invite you." Kagome smiles thoughtfully. A silver brow arches at her invitation, wondering what she means by 'fun.'
"Hm,"
"Good, so it's a yes!" Cheerful hands claps together at the answer.
"Kagome, have I ever told you it's bad to assume?" He sourly replies, knowing the bitter irony of his words. With a whirl of ebony locks, Kagome hops off the counter, waving off his words and beaming with excitement.
"I'll be ready at 9!" She yells as she sashays out the kitchen, Sesshomaru shakes his head, he probably likes her better in her sulky mood. He begins typing.
He actually got work done then.
•••
"Thank you," She whispers, her voice vivid and clear from the kitchen. "For everything. I don't know where my mind was this couple of months, thank you for pulling me out of my ditch."
Inuyasha's back is flat against the wall of the stairs as he listens to Kagome and Sesshomaru. His ears are perked up but his heart swallowed down in his chest. He moves to slowly creep up the stairs, never getting into ear shot of his brother or sight of Kagome as she ran up the stairs momentarily after wards.

A warm enticing scent of perfume and sweat marinates the dim room. Red lights with black lamp shades adorn the center of all tables, black chandeliers with dim golden lights lit the room expertly to it's smooth facade. It gives the perfect intimate feeling of being in a bedroom show.
Kagome, Sesshomaru, and Inuyasha sat in the very front seat, in front of the boa and glitter decorated runaway.
"This looks nice." Says Kagome, ordering herself a cocktail to start the night.
"It smells like shame and sweat." Inuyasha chuckles, making the waitress in lingre giggle along with him.
"Reminds me of your bedroom, actually." Kagome wrinkles her nose in playful disgust, earning herself a swat on her back but It only makes fuel to make her giggle more. The trio starts light conversation, talking politics and teaching a little of it to Kagome. They dabble in sports, which Kagome took that time to take out her phone. She isn't the type to be interested in sports like they were, frankly the only time she ever looks at it is to get the score and call it a day. Eventually though, the room begins to feel like a sweat box to Inuyasha and Kagome, the two exercising their irritation in small jab comments near the hearing ears of employees. Sesshomaru on the other hand, internally embarrassed by their striking comments, subtle but clear in their point. He is actually the one who shushes them after each comment, threatening repercussion for each Japanese word that comes out their mouth.
"You two are not even intoxicated and still being a nuisances in public." Sesshomaru glances at the menu, then at the drinks menu. "I assume I'm flipping the bill for your unlimited drinking and tipping of these waitresses?" He frowns deeply at Inuyasha. Inuyasha, still fuming a little from that morning sighs exasperatedly.
"No, I can pay for my own damn drinks, okay!" Yells Inuyasha like an upset teenager. He throws his arms in frustration, swatting a tray of drinks out someone's hands. Alcohol rains down over Kagome, dousing her in cold beverages that soaks into her shirt and wets her hair. Inuyasha instantly regrets his carelessness, apologizing constantly.
Sesshomaru locks eyes with the waitress who dropped the drinks. Noticing she didn't take the initiative to help Kagome. Also notices she wasn't a waitress; a dancer probably. Her attire is different than the others, but still fit into the scheme of this place. Her hair is put up in an elaborate updo of curls and glitter pins, her makeup well done and elegant. Making prominent all the right aspects of her features. She obviously is a youkai demoness by the glittering red orbs of her eyes. She stares haughtily down on Kagome dabbing away at the soaked patches on her clothes.
The demoness and daiyoukai exchange meaningful glances, her red gems a burning flame in her skull as they lit at the sight of Sesshomaru. She drags her eyes back down to Kagome then back at Sesshomaru, now noticing the irritation heavy in his brow. She straightens her face and smiles aromatically, the blood colored lipstick precisely on her lips pinches at the end. "I'm so sorry," He voice like a velvet coat engulfing Sesshomaru in the sweet bass of it.
"Leave." He dismisses, breaking her small facade of velvet and unnerving the woman slightly that her sweet words did little to appeal the lord. She sashays away knowing this isn't her best but not her last attempt at the lord.
Kagome manages to get most of the alcohol out her shirt, dabbing it with water from the picture of courtesy water but her hair is another story. The smell from the drinks makes her smell like she washed it in Grey Goose and New Amsterdam. She pulls her tresses back into a twisted bun at the top of her head and pins her bangs back with a scarf tied intricately into a perfect sloppy bow."Wow, that was...fun." Kagome light heartily jokes to ease Inuyasha's tense muscles as he asks some waitresses for more napkins.
The lights in the building dims even more low, almost pitch back except for the twinkling glitter littered on the stage. Slow and sensual music plays, a violin rippling through the chords, lights casts from overhead and bathe the stage in light. A figure emerges from behind the curtain. Her brown curls bounces from the updo and the hairpins and feathers dance as she sashays down the catwalk, earning wolf whistles and obscene calls from males in the crowd.
Sesshomaru narrows his eyes at the woman from earlier, she struts her voluptuous figure in the tightly drawn corset. Something did not sit right with him about her. She looks familiar in the face, someone he possibly knows. Or perhaps a young lady Inuyasha knows. Inuyasha didn't see her the way he did enough to confirm if his suspicions were true.
"She's ugly." Inuyasha comments, dismissing his last thought.
"Good evening." She cooes into the mic, her voice languid and full as she speaks. "I am your lady of the evening, Lady Kagura." She waits as the men in the crowd give their words and whistles of approval as she lightly traces her hand up a seam of the black corset, letting it fall to her side. As she talks into the mic, she shifts her eyes to Sesshomaru, sticking out her hip and batting her lashes at him. This only causes laughter from Inuyasha, seeing the disgust etch in Sesshomaru's frown and blank emotionless eyes.
Kagura continues to talk, soon after starting a ballad about her hunky pool boy. She moves her body around the stage, her dance moves small but significant. It feels more like she's telling someone intimately this than a crowd of people and this is what draws Kagome in. The way she's captured the crowd and simultaneously makes them part of this personal life she's drawn up carefully. A little part of Kagome is jealous at how she's gotten everyone's attention. Even as Kagome turns to Sesshomaru, he's deep in thought but eyes never wavering from her face. As she wraps up the song, more ladies fill in for the next number, all dressed in lingre that makes the men go crazy. Kagome spots Edie out the crowd. Her short hair put in a 20s style bob with wine lipstick and deep rouge that makes her cheekbones poke out. Her costume consists of a dark devious red corset that perks up her breasts and tightens immensely around her tiny waist. Her thigh highs were glittered with rime stones and her heels looks expensive. No matter how disapproving this was to Kagome for her usually modest Edie to be dressing for this old perverts, she couldn't help but give her space. She looks like she's really having fun intruding on Kagura's ballad with songs of wooing and schmoozing for a piece of ass from a corporate tycoon or the man next door. Kagome actually found herself laughing at some of these stories and songs.
She fell back on Inuyasha during one song, laughing at the intentional misstep by one of the dancers and falling into the arms of the tubs man before slapping him for being a pig. Inuyasha tenses at her touch, the feel of her skin against his raises hairs on his neck and makes his ears twitch. He resists the urge to wrap his arms around her body and bury his face in her neck. Instead, he pushes her off him playfully, downing a swallow of Hennessy until it's a large lump in his throat, he pushes down the rough liquor, feeling it burn his throat like it was a ball of knives.
From the corner of his eyes, he watched as Inuyasha swallowed his drink whole and made a grimace as it slid down uneasily. His knows his brother's intentions were behind that drink and as much as disapproves of that, he made it none of his business to stop him. He's had enough of his brother for one day and the morning earlier made the icing on the cake for him. He eyes drags to Kagome and the grin on her face before she busts out laughing at another humorous lyric or pathetic dance move to show their desperation for a man to bed them or for someone to notice their sex appeal.
After the opening songs, dancers exits the stage and the lights brightens the room only enough to see the walkway and your feet. A split of applause erupt as people clap, cheer, and whistle for Edie and a few other dancers as they exit the curtain. Edie stops straight at their table, meeting Kagome in a tight embrace, rocking each other from one foot to the other.
"Oh Edie, look at you." Kagome examines her costume, then her face. "You look so un-Edie." Edie giggles, swatting Kagome on the arm with her manicured artificial claw nails.
"I wanted to be bold for a change. Like you." Edie winks. Kagome scoffs.
"Bold? The boldest thing I've done is add raisins to banana bread." The two girls breaks out in a fit of laughter. Two more figures join the two, Yuka and Ayumi.
"Yo," Ayumi waves with Yuka next to her.
"Um...As much as I don't care but it's only manners, don't you want to introduce your little friends." Inuyasha suggests. Kagome claps her hands together at his suggestion. Smiling warmly, she gestures to Ayumi first.
"This Ayumi Kurosachi," next she gestures to Yuka. "Yuka Poe," Yuka does a finger wave towards Inuyasha. "And Edie Yamate." Edie waves as well.
"Um, Guys this is my house mates. Inuyasha and Sesshomaru Taisho. The Taishos." Kagome boasts. The girls stare incredulously, then simultaneously, Yuka and Edie begins to squeal and hold onto each other.
"Oh my word, it is him! From the magazine!" Edie and Yuka squeals, shoving each other and slapping hands disbelievingly. Sesshomaru raises an eyebrow and Kagome instantly knew what that means; he thinks their crazy coo-coo fan girls. But Edie and Yuka continues their squeals of joy towards the youkai, even squealing at Inuyasha when they finally acknowledged him.
"Fucking cool," Ayumi whispers, astonished. She brings her small hands and tweaks Inuyasha's ears. Concentration heavy in her arched brows. "Sexy," She concludes as she continues to tweak his ears.
"Are you stupid?!" Inuyasha cries as he pries her fingers from his sensitive ears. "Don't you have your own table?-OW- keep your hands to yourself!" He sticks her hands at her side. After holding them there for a good minute, he lets her go and as soon as he does, Ayumi goes for his ears again. Edie and Yuka who's all long decided to get their own seats at the table holds a conversation with Sesshomaru, piling him with questions on politics, his office, job, important people and figure heads they both share a strong dislike in. Kagome can tell from his voice on each question he is thoroughly intrigued by these girls and their questions. Kagome shoots a smirk his way when she least thought he's watching.
The prime time lineup begins. The lights dim down again, Yuka and Sesshomaru are engaged in a heated debate over politic things. Edie left moments before Prime time began to ready for her cue. The curtains open and reveals Kagura again. This time, she wears a grape sheer dress. Sheer enough that the very dark outlines of her breast and nipples down to her stomach were visible. It drops down to the black lining of her panties and stops mid thigh with black feathers at the hem. She walks with black pointed heels down the walkway, many woman dressed similar to her trail behind. Their night gowns were not as revealing but as gaudy with assorted color feather hems and large feather fans to match.
"Taisho-san," A deep smooth voice ripples through Kagome's body and sends her head snapping back to see who does that voice belong to. A man in an exquisite suit greets Sesshomaru. The daiyoukai stands to shake hands with the man in the suit. His raven locks falls in beautiful waves, hugging his suit lovingly like a scarf, something in Kagome has the urge to touch his hair and bury her face in it. Kagome notices the twinkle of his spider cufflinks bounce from the lights of the stage and a wave of nostalgic washes over her and for a moment she's taken aback by deja vu. She can't put her finger on it but she feels like she's seen this man before and has met him at that but she doesn't remember ever knowing him.
"It's nice to meet you Taisho-san, my name is-"
"Naraku," Kagome finds herself uttering those words before they could escape his lips. Naraku turns and stares into Kagome's sapphire ocean. He smiles pleasantly at her.
"Yes, my name is Naraku. How did you know?"Curiosity smokes in his eyes like a cloud. Kagome fumbles for words but they never come out. She scrambles for an excuse instead of saying because she guessed.
"I saw it on the building." She lies. He seems to accept this and turns back to Sesshomaru to talk. Seshomaru's ears picks up on her lie but if he knew, he didn't show it as he walks behind Naraku to somewhere where they can talk privately.
"That was weird." Kagome breathes. She turns to Inuyasha who's been watching Ayumi take pictures of his ears and set them as her wall paper before gushing out on how sexy they are. She knows him from somewhere, but where? Where has she seen that face and that spider at?
"Kikyou" He murmured into her ear seductively. His words like sugar, making her heart jump leaps in her chest. She felt his cold fingers brush the bare skin of her breast. She shivered into his body, his heart made of ice but the veins in his body warm with blood. Blood he's stolen from someone else and made his own. The warmth of his body doesn't belong to him but she finds herself helpless every time he uttered her name. Damn him for doing this to her body, it would take her years to be pure and sacred again if he were to bed her tonight. But she didn't want to leave, leave him alone in this damned cave. She loved him too much. She dismissed all thoughts of leaving and kissed her lover's lips softly, caressing his cold cheek. despite he felt like a thousand blizzards, she continued to smiled adoringly to him, running her fingers through his black wavy hair, his hair draped over them like a curtain of insecurities. He took the hand from his hair and weaved his fingers through hers.
"Naraku," She whispered to him like a secret. He parted her legs and slowly entered the miko, breaking her seal and tainting her pure soul all until she uses her miko powers again. "Naraku." She whimpered to his soothing voice of assurance.
"Hey Kags,"
No answer.
"Kags,"
No answer
"Kagome!" Inuyasha shakes the day dreaming miko, pulling her out of her trance.
"I love you..." She whispers absentmindedly before realizing what she said. She flings a hand over her mouth. Where did that come from inside her? Where did that image come from inside her? Why was Kikyou with Naraku? She turns to meet the gaze of a confused Inuyasha who's taken aback by her comment as well.
"What did you say?"
"Nothing, nothing. What do you want?" Kagome impatiently asks, waving off her last comment. She rubs her temples in hope to rub out that memory.
"I need to talk to you." Inuyasha stands up and motions for her to follow. Kagome follows him to an area in the back of the club. They sit on a plush couch far off from prying ears and watchful eyes. Inuyasha heavily sighs and looks at straight forward at Kagome with determination burning in his gut.
Kagome raises her eyebrows, seeing this serious side of Inuyasha is often rare when he's not working with a client or doing paperwork.
"So um, how are you about the Renjun thing. You ready for this ride you're about to take?" Inuyasha glances over towards Kagome. She blinks twice before scratching her scalp a little, racking through her brain for an answer, a feeling, something to say.
"Um, I guess you can say I'm nervous." She gives a shaky laugh. "After all, I'm going to be in a court, in front of hundreds of people, with a small camera in my face for millions more to be in the courtroom with me. Who wouldn't be a little nervous?"
"Professionals." Inuyasha scoffs, earning himself a punch in the ribs. "Ow, you punch too hard for a girl." He earns himself another punch in the ribs, this time however, he blocks it.
"Ah, you learn fast." Says Kagome the way a master would to a pupil. Inuyasha rolls his eyes and Kagome falls in a fit of giggles, causing the hanyou to jump, then slowly crack a smile with a tender blush on his cheeks. This isn't what he wants to talk to her about, his intentions actually are to warn her about Sesshomaru. But each time he's with her, he always finds himself changing plans or chickening out of telling her something. Like right now, he can't help but look at her beauty, the way she laughs and how her sapphire eyes burn him in his heart.
"Kagome," Her name rolls off his tongue sweetly like luscious fruit from the forbidden vine. Kagome feels the shift in the atmosphere. She looks up to meet his warm gaze, feeling her words fall over themselves, stuck in her throat in a lump. She doesn't know what to do or say, she only stays planted in her seat.
"Inuyasha," The hint of doubt and uncertainty strains in her words, the only word that manages to get out her throat. Before she can protest and before she could turn down any romantic offer he would put on the table, he smashes his lips into hers. She squeezes the cushion of the couch in shock as she feels the warmth of his lips against hers. They weren't suppose to be doing that, he wasn't suppose to be feeling this way about her! Why did he have to go make this complicated now? Kagome didn't move to quickly, still stunned at his move on her and the fact that his feelings for her never faltered all these years.
She pulls away from the kiss, taking in gulps of air and staring wide-eye into his eyes, searching for a plausible answer, anything to chew on at this moment. Kagome jumps off the couch and sped out the room, running out fast in any way to avoid Inuyasha or anything that happened in that room. She was better off not acknowledging his feelings for her again, why did he have to pursue them again?
Kagome stops herself from almost collapseing into the table. She ran so fast she didn't know who she's bumped into or sloshed a glass into. She stops at Naraku and Sesshomaru, the two business tycoons in the midst of conversation and a cold drink.
"It's nice of you to join us again..." Naraku drags the last letter.
"Kagome. Kagome Higurashi." She quickly confirms for him. He nods his head as if locking this information in his memory bank.
"Where were you and where's Inuyasha?" Sesshomaru however isn't as pleased as Naraku to see Kagome or not Inuyasha with her. Kagome grimaces at the sound of his name and sits at the table next to Ayumi who downed a few drinks and were singing I'm every woman with Yuka who also probably had too much to drink as well. Kagome is a little envious of them, if she only staid put in her seat and joined them at their game, she too would've been drunken stupid and ignorant to everything happening around her so she wouldn't have to deal with it.
"Nowhere, just talking." Kagome quickly says in a rush of words. Inuyasha makes his way back to the table, his face dark and his bangs covering his eye. The two avoids eye contact and sits on opposite ends of the table. Sesshomaru noticing the behavior of the two but says nothing about it, making a mental note to get the details on what 'nothing' was. He watches as Kagome looks down and fiddles with her nails. He watches Inuyasha grab two tall drinks from a waitress and immediately downs one of them. Something is wrong.
"Taisho-san," Naraku smiles, Sesshomaru wordlessly turns back towards him. "So, tell me about Kagome."
