Rick, T-dog, Carol and Daryl were outside bringing their cars in and were preparing to gather the dead bodies up, then T-dog spotted the surviving prisoners coming their way, so they went to see what they wanted.
"That's close enough" Rick said, "We had an agreement"
"Please mister, we know that, we made a deal, but you got to understand, we can't live in that place another minute, you follow me; all the bodies, people we knew, blood, brain's everywhere, there's ghosts" Axel pleaded.
"Why don't you move the bodies out?" Daryl questioned.
"You should be burning them" T-dog added.
"We tried, we did" Axel said.
"The fences down the far side of the prison, every time we drag a body out, those things just line up" Oscar said.
"Look, we had nothing to with Tomas and Andrew, nothing; you trying to prove a point, you proved it bro, we'll do whatever it takes to be part of your group, just please, please don't make us live in that place" Axel pleaded.
"Our deal is non-negotiable, you either live in your cell block or you leave" Rick said.
"I told you this was a waste of time" Oscar said to Axel, "They ain't no different than the pricks that shot up our boys, you know how many friends corpses we had to drag out this week, just threw them out like⦠these were good guys, good guys who had our backs against the really bad dudes in the joint, like Tomas and Andrew; now we've all made mistakes to get in here chief, and I'm not going to pretend to be a saint, but believe me, we paid our due, enough that we would rather hit that road, than to go back into that shit hole"
Rick stayed quiet, then he turned to look at Daryl, and he shook his head. So they locked the prisoners outside.
"Come on dude" Axel pleaded.
"Are you serious," Rick said to T-dog, "You want them living in a cell next to you? They'll just be waiting for the chance to grab our weapons; you want to go back to sleeping with one eye open?"
"I never stopped," T-dog said, "Bring them into the fold, we sending them off packing, we might as well execute them ourselves"
"I don't know, Axel seems a little unstable" Glenn said.
"After all we've been through, we fought so hard for all of this, what if they just decide to take it?" Carol questioned.
"It's just been us for so long, they're strangers, it feels weird all of sudden to have other people around" Maggie said.
"You brought us in" T-dog said.
"Yeah, but you turned up with a shot boy in your arms, you gave us a choice"
"They can't even kill walkers" Glenn added.
"They're convicts, bottom line" Carol added.
"Those two might have less blood on their hands than we do" T-dog said.
"I get guys like this, hell I grew up with them, their degenerates but they ain't psychos; I could have been in there with them just as easy as I'm out here with you guys" Daryl said.
"So you're with me?" T-dog asked.
"Hell no" Daryl rejected, "Let them take their chances on the road, just like we did"
"What I'm saying Daryl is-"
"When I was a rookie," Rick interrupted, "I arrested this kid, 19 years old, wanted for stabbing his girlfriend, kid blubbered like a baby during the interrogation, during the trial, suckered the jury; it was a quitted due to lack insufficiency of evidence, then two weeks later, he shot another girl; we've been through too much, our deal with them stands"
"Mom!"
Everyone turned to see Sophia running towards them.
"Sophia, go back inside sweetie" Carol advised.
"I can't find Nuna" Sophia said.
"I'm sure she's around here somewhere"
"But she knows to stay with us, I looked under the beds and on the second floor, I can't find her"
"Are you talking about the cat?" Everyone then turned to look at the prisoners.
"Yes" Sophia answered.
"She's in our cell block" Big Tiny answered.
"She must have wandered off in there" Sophia said.
"I'll go with you to get her" Glenn offered.
After they got Nuna, Rick, Daryl, T-dog, Carol, Maggie and Glenn piled up the bodies and headed out. Inside, Beth and Lori brought in some crutches for Hershel and Carl and Sophia went to see if they could help in anyway.
"Just take your time" Lori said as Hershel propped himself up. Hershel moved faster as he tried to get up.
"Daddy, don't push yourself" Beth advised.
"What else am I going to do?" Hershel asked as he stood up and Beth and Lori helped him onto the crutches, "Can't stand looking up at the bottom of the bunk any longer"
Hershel staggered a bit and Beth and Lori steadied him; soon Hershel was slowly walking on the crutches.
"You know, I think I'm pretty steady" Hershel said.
"It's a good start, you wanna take a rest" Lori said.
"Rest? Let's go for a little stroll" Hershel said with a small laugh.
Michonne has soon returned from her trip and she laid out a map on the bed.
"If we leave soon, we'll get a few hours on the road before dusk" Michonne said.
"Where're we heading?" Andrea asked.
"I'm thinking the coast, we have the water completely on one side, maybe we find a boat, best thing we can do is find an island" Michonne said.
"And if the coast isn't safe?" Andrea questioned.
"Keep moving"
"Let's say the coast is safe, then what do we do, just grow old, live off the sea, by ourselves?"
"Rather take my chances out there than stay here"
"Because yours and Echo's guts says something off about this place, about the Governor"
"It's kept us alive this long"
"That's true"
They all continued to look at the maps for a little while, then Echo spoke out.
"I might have to bail out on heading to the coast with you guys"
"How come?" Andrea asked.
"I want to try and find the group"
"Why, they didn't try to find us"
"Maybe they didn't have a choice, the farm was overrun by a herd and Rick didn't want to risk losing any more people"
"They abandoned us, why would you go back to people who didn't even come to look for us?"
Echo stayed quiet, then looked back down at the maps. "Let me think about it"
Andrea sighed and continued to look at the maps.
Carol, Maggie and T-dog were soon moving the cars on the inside of the prison, Rick, Glenn and Daryl went out to gather some woods and Beth, Lori, Carl and Sophia were helping Hershel outside. They noticed that the court was cleared out, making it look a lot nicer; when the others were done with moving around, they noticed that Hershel was outside, walking on his crutches with barely any problems, they were starting to have a good day for once. But then, Carl turned around when he heard something.
"Walkers!" Carl shouted.
The others noticed and they began to pull their guns out and fire at them. Beth, Hershel and Sophia began to run towards the fence way entrance, Hershel even took out a walker that was behind him and they locked themselves in. Rick, Daryl and Glenn ran as fast as they could to get to them before anything happened.
Maggie, Lori and Carl ran inside the cell block while Carol and T-dog went to close the gate that was somehow open. Carl, Maggie and Lori soon made it inside and tried to get into their cell, but then some walkers came out and they had to run to the other door. While T-dog managed to get the gate shut and was locking it, a walker came up behind him and bit him in the shoulder, screaming out in pain, Carol cried out as she saw this; T-dog knocked the walker down and shot it in the head.
"Hurry!" Carol shouted out and she and T-dog ran inside.
"Mom!" Sophia cried out.
Rick, Glenn and Daryl soon made it inside and they began to take out the rest of the walkers.
"What the hell happened?" Rick asked.
"The gates are opens" Beth answered.
"Where's Lori, Carl, everyone else?"
"Maggie lead Lori and Carl into c block" Hershel answered.
"But T was bit" Beth added.
"Anyone else"
"I couldn't tell"
"You stay put"
Soon they took out the rest of the walkers and they gathered around.
"Those chains didn't break on their own, someone took an axe or cutters to them" Glenn informed.
Rick looked back as the prisoners started to come in.
"You think they did it?" Glenn questioned.
"Who else"
Suddenly sirens started to sound and it started to attract more walkers from the outside.
"What is that?" Glenn questioned.
"You got to be kidding me!" Daryl groaned.
"Daryl" Rick said and tossed him the keys.
Rick and Glenn soon tried to shoot the speakers, but the sirens continued.
"How the hell can this be happening?" Rick shouted, pointing his guns at the prisoners.
"Whoa, it has to be the backup generators" Oscar told.
"Well how do you turn those off?"
"There's three that's connected to a diesel tank ok, each one controls a certain part of the prison, they shut them all off when the prison was overrun" Oscar explained.
"Could someone open up the main gates electronically without power?"
"I only worked in there a few days, I guess it might be possible"
"Come with us, let's go!"
Rick grabbed Oscar and they all began to run towards c block. Sophia took it upon herself to run out of the fenced entrance and towards the entrance that Carol took, but Daryl spotted her and ran to grab her before she even made it half way there.
"What are you doing?" Daryl questioned.
"My mom and T ran in there, what if there's more in there, they're in trouble!" Sophia said.
"We'll get them, just get back to Hershel and Beth and wait" Daryl informed.
Sophia soon went back to Hershel and Beth and they headed into the prison; when they got inside, they shot down a few walkers that were lurking inside.
"Lori, Carl!" Rick shouted out.
"We took down five of them in there" Daryl said.
"There were four in here, but no sign of Lori or any of them" Rick said.
"They must have been pushed back into the prison" Glenn said.
"Somebody is playing games!" Rick said, "We'll split up and look for the others, whoever gets to the generators first shut them down"
Glenn, Axel and Big Tiny split up from Rick, Daryl and Oscar so they could make it down to the basement and to the generators, but on the way, they were being pursued by walkers. They managed to make it inside and close the door, but Oscar and Daryl had to hold it back while Rick tried to look for the generator to shut the sirens off.
"How do you shut these down?" Rick questioned.
Oscar ran to Rick while Daryl held the door; Oscar showed where to shut it off and Rick reached up and shut it down. When Rick checked one of the generators, Andrew, the prisoner who tried to kill Rick before and escaped, charged at him with an axe, but Rick moved out of the way. Oscar tried to help, but Andrew knocked him down with the back end of the axe and charged at Rick again.
Rick kneed Andrew in the stomach and started to slam him against the walls; Andrew then hit Rick with the axe, Rick tried to shoot at him, but he managed to knock the gun out of his hands. Andrew then tackled Rick to the ground and Rick tried to reach for the gun, but he was rolled away from it. Daryl was starting to have trouble holding the door back, so he let it go and grabbed his crossbow and shot one of the walkers, then he grabbed his knife and stabbed another walker, pushing it back and managed to get the door closed.
When Andrew and Rick were separated, Andrew grabbed the axe and tried to take a swing at Rick, but a barrel was thrown at him, knocking him down. Rick looked back and saw that Oscar was the one who threw it, but then he picked up the gun and aimed it at Rick.
"Shoot him, we can take back this prison" Andrew said. Oscar kept the gun aimed at him, but he didn't pull the trigger.
"What're you waiting for, do it, it's our house, shoot him!" Oscar moved the gun and shot Andrew in the head instead.
Daryl was right behind him with his knife in his hand; Oscar got closer to Rick, then he flipped the gun around so he could give it back to Rick. Rick took the gun and then he walked over to the generator and finally shut the sirens off.
"Let's go" Rick sighed.
"I thought we had an agreement" Michonne said when Andrea came back from the Governors place.
"We can always leave tomorrow or the following day" Andrea said.
"The following day?"
"We don't want to walk into trouble that we can get out of"
"Tell me about it"
"Michonne, it's just a day or two"
"I heard you the first time" Michonne soon walked out of the room, leaving Andrea and Echo behind.
"I agree with Michonne, we should leave today" Echo spoke.
"We will, but later" Andrea said.
"How much later Andrea? You say a day or two; but what's next, a week?"
"What are you getting so worked up for?"
"I think he's lying"
"About what?"
"About Welles squad, they're National Guards, they were heavily armed, they could easily take a herd of walkers in a matter of seconds; the farm was more safe than this place" Echo soon left, leaving Andrea alone.
Rick, Daryl and Oscar soon go to search for T-dog and Carol, they hear some noise and they leaned against the wall and waited, but it was Glenn, Axel and Big Tiny that came out. They continue on and they start to hear some growling and they slowly came around the corner and saw two walkers eating a body. Rick kills the walkers and when they approach the mutilated body, they see that it was T-dog's body.
Daryl looks down and sees a piece of clothing on the ground, when he picks it up, he recognizes it as Carol's headband. After that, they came running back outside.
"Hershel!" Rick called out.
"You didn't find them?" Hershel asked.
"We thought maybe they came back out here" Glenn said and Beth shook her head.
"What about T, Carol?"
Daryl looked at Sophia and saw a scared expression on her face, "They didn't make it"
Sophia looked like she couldn't believe it, she was about to collapse to her knees, but Beth caught her, then she started to cry into her chest.
"That doesn't mean the others didn't; we're going back, Daryl and Glenn, you come wit-"
Rick was interrupted when he heard crying, he looked at the c block entrance and saw Maggie and Carl come out, and Maggie was holding a new born in her arms. Rick started to approach them, Maggie looked like she was about to cry and Carl had a blank expression on his face; Rick noticed that Lori wasn't with them.
"Where is she?" Rick asked.
Rick tried to walk passed her, but Maggie tried to stop him. When Rick realized what happened, he broke down and started to cry. Glenn walked over to Maggie and comforted her when she started to cry as well, everyone else stayed quiet, mourning the deaths of their closest friends.
