A/N: Note that this chapter jumps forwards about three weeks. And also, I sincerely apologize for never updating this fic. I have writer's block, stress, and I tend to just plain forget that I have a fic to update. So, thanks for those who still subscribe to this fic.

"Say, isn't it about time we get you out of here?" Sherlock startled, looking up from his book.

"Doesn't Mycroft decide when that happens?"

"Yes, but if a doctor thinks the patient is set to be released into reality again, they can check out said patient." The detective made a noncommittal grunting noise in response. "Sherlock, I'm serious. I don't want you in this abysmal place any longer."

"Did you know that bleach unfolds the protein in bacteria?"

"Sherlock."

"Boiling has a similar effect on bacteria, making it effective to…"

"Sherlock!"

"John, I do not wish to leave." The doctor sighed.

"But why?"

"I…but what about you?"

John softened. "Sherlock, don't worry about me." He ran a hand through his cropped hair, pacing the room.

The detective persisted. "But when would I see you?" A pregnant silence fell upon the room.

Eventually, John broke the silence. "I…I don't know. I obviously didn't think this out very well." Sherlock shot him an "I told you so look" before returning to his book.

"Plus, Mycroft would have a hissy fit if I got out on anything but his authority. And even if I did, he find out immediately, as he is the British government." John laughed, but stopped upon seeing the serious look on Sherlock's face.

"Wait, seriously? I thought you were joking whenever you said that."

"Do I look like I'm joking, John?" This only made the doctor laugh harder, causing the detective to pout. "My brother occupies a 'minor' position in the British government."

"That puts a bit of a damper on the whole 'getting you out thing, doesn't it?"

"Well, you could come live at Baker Street with me."

"Pardon?"

"I said, you could live at Baker Street with me."

"I heard you, I just…are you certain about this? I'm not exactly good flatmate material."

"Nor am I, but I'm still offering."

"I'd love to."

"I have an extra bedroom upstairs, if you wish." John replied with an "I doubt that will be necessary," causing Sherlock to smirk.
"Let's get started on those forms then."
