Notes a the end.

It was the first saturday of the month, so naturally the Lucases and the Nolans had to eat lunch together. It was a tradition that Anita and David had invented when they were kids; they had called it Famirst Saturday - Farmirst being the compound word for Family Saturday and First Saturday. As they years passed by, the group attending to the Famirst Saturday tradition grew larger; first it had been just Anita and David and sometimes Granny. Then, when David came back with Emma and the group grew to David, Emma, Anita, Ruby and Graham. Soon, Mary Margaret also became part of their tradition. She was followed by Regina (who had been absent of the Famirst lunchs while she was at college) and the two additions to the Nolan family: Alex and Oliver.

So what started up as two best friends not wanting to have eat alone had become a huge family lunch that involved almost ten people. Sometimes even more if they decided to invite someone over, it was usually Robin and Roland. Emma hoped Robin would come today, then he'd meet up with Regina, again.

Emma loved Famirst Saturdays. It was not the usual sunday lunch, because at Granny's she was allowed to eat burgers and get her mouth all covered in tomato sauce. She could also steal Ruby's fries or Graham's coke. It reminded her that they were a big, almost-dysfunctional, family.

When the blonde had her best friend entered to the restaurant, she had expected to see her mother helping Anita setting the table. What she hadn't expected was to see Alex amicably talking to Killian, the two of them were so into the conversation that they had completely ignored the sound of the door opening. Emma pursed her lips into a thin line as she saw the interactions between her sister and her friend.

Regina arrived shortly after Emma; and just as the blonde teenager, she was surprised to see Killian on the Famirst lunch. The brunette gently hit Emma with ther shoulder, "Let me guess," Regina said with a smile "Your mother," Emma rolled her eyes, they were both well accustomed to Mary Margaret's matchmaking actions. "So, did you tell your parents?" Regina asked Emma,

"Nope, they think she was with me," Ruby commented.

Regina and Ruby both studied Emma, the blonde was completely ignoring their conversation, and staring at Alex and Killian interact with each other. "Well, David is going to love this," Regina commented.

"Oh, god!" Emma let out when she realised they gravity of the situation: Killian was at Granny's, on a Famirst Saturday. Her parents would be here. Her father would be here. She was dead. He was dead. They were dead.

Panic hit her.

She walked towards Killian and Alex. They were speaking about fiction movies, Alex's favourite topic; they didn't acknowledge her presence until they heard Emma's voice "What are you doing here, Killian?" she asked as she rested on hand on Alex's chair's top rail.

"He came to say hi to Ollie and mom invited him," Alex talked in behalf of Killian.

"Did she now?" Emma raised her gaze, only to meet with her mother, who was smirking at her.

She shook her head, she didn't know whether to be worried or angry. 'One emotion at the time, Swan,' she told herself. First she would deal with Killian, then she'd deal with her mother, and hopefully her father wouldn't even notice that there was a teenager boy talking to his baby girl. Who was she kidding? David would probably spot Killian the moment he walked through the door.

Emma sat next to Killian and leaned in to whisper something, so only he and Alex would hear, "Listen, my parents don't know I was out on a date. Can you please keep it that way?" the blonde didn't mind Alex listening, but at Granny's the wall had ear, she couldn't risk anyone else eavesdropping.

Killian nodded, "Don't worry, Swan, your sister already had that conversation covered," he smiled at both girls.

"Just don't do or say anything stupid, alright?" she asked him.

"So, you are basically asking me not to be myself?" Killian replied with another question and grinned, "Trust me, Swan, the last thing I want is to be on the sheriff's blacklist," that relieved Emma, somehow. At least Killian would try to make a good impression on her father.

Then she walked towards her mother, she needed to make sure that Mary Margaret didn't suspect about her date last night.

"Hi, mom!" the blonde kissed her mother's cheek, "Hi, auntie," she hugged Anita. "So, what's up?"

"We were talking about that boy Killian," Anita said, and Emma felt how her heartbeat got faster.

"What about him?"

"He took care of your siblings while I helped Belle today," Mary Margaret stated, "I think they both like him, I mean, have you ever seen Alex so interested in someone?"

'I wonder why is that,' Emma had to stop herself from rolling her eyes, "She's probably interested because he's from outside this town," Emma explained, trying to not give it importance. "So, why did you invite him for lunch?" the blonde asked, prying on her mother's real reasons.

"Well, he was alone, and Ollie told me he was your friend," Mary Margaret replied folding the napkins, "Why? was I wrong? Don't think I didn't see the way he was looking at you, or the way you leaned to talk to him,"

Why do mothers always know everything? Emma wondered. Mary Margaret seemed cool with Killian, but that didn't mean her father would be. Sure, having her mother on her side was a big plus; but Killian, he was the opposite of what her father wanted her to date. If it would be up to his father, she would be dating someone like Archie, a teenager than never got into any fight or trouble, a teenager that was already thinking on how would his life be in twenty years.

"I think his a good guy," her mother's voice snapped her out of her thoughts. "Not much teens click so easily with kids,"

Well, that was relieving, at least 50% of the team parents had been won over. However, it was the easy 50%, she was sure her father wouldn't give in so easily.

"Mom," Emma said after a while, "I forgot to tell you about this awesome idea I had yesterday," Anita and Mary Margaret looked at Emma, the blonde never had awesome ideas. They were always terrible, and they always got her into trouble. "You should play matchmaker for Regina and Robin!" Emma whispered excitedly, trying not to look at Regina or she would catch on Emma's plan.

"That's actually a great idea," Anita agreed. Just like Mary Margaret, Anita loved pretending to be Cupid, "They both have the same age, right?"

"He's three years older, which is great," Mary Margaret nodded, "And Regina loves kids, she'll fall in love with Roland in no time,"

"You see? Sometimes, I have good ideas,"

"Once in a life time, yes," her mother said tapping Emma's shoulder, "By the way, we are in luck, Robin is joining us for lunch as well,"

Emma pursed her lips into a smile, "Just make sure that they sit one next to the other," she added with a grin. At least prying into Regina's love life would help her forget her own.

David texted Mary Margaret before he left the sheriff's office so that his wife and his best friend would start taking the kids' orders and have everything done by the time he and Robin arrived. It was faster and easier that way. The adults always ordered later, when the kids were busy dipping their elbows into Granny's food.

Ruby, Emma and Graham always ordered the same thing: Burger, with fries, extra mayo and a coke - Anita and Mary Margaret had tried to make them eat something healthier, but the teenagers never listened to the women. This time, Killian joined them on their order, and Mary Margaret had to allow her younger children to eat burgers as well. Emma looked at how happy her siblings were with Killian, by the end of the day, she wouldn't know for sure which Nolan kid liked the new boy the most.

Their orders arrived a little bit before the door opened and Storybrooke's sheriff and deputy walked into the restaurant. Emma licked her dry lips and swallowed at the sight of her father, Ruby almost laughed at how scared the blonde looked. David greeted everyone, one by one, starting with his wife, then his best friend and Regina. Then, the sheriff walked over the table were the younger part of the party were eating and first placed a kiss on top of Oliver's head. By this time Oliver and Graham were the only ones eating, completely oblivious of the situation.

It was after David kissed the top of Alex's head that he realised that something was off: Ruby and Emma were silent. He raised his head and looked at the teenagers, then he noticed a new face. "And who's this?" he asked, looking at Killian.

"Emma's friend!" Oliver jumped excitedly and reached to get his coke.

"You are the guy that gave them a lift the other day," David pointed out,

"Yes, sir," Killian nodded and stood up, "Killian Jones," the teenager added stretching his hand.

David stared at Killian for a second and then nodded at him, he didn't shake the teenager's hand, "Ruby, Graham," he greeted the other two teenagers.

"Hi, David," Ruby said with an over exaggerated smile. "How was work today?" she asked, trying to ease the tension.

"Saturdays are heaven ever since you two are doing community service," the sheriff replied with a smile, then he looked at Emma, "Emma, can we talk?"

Emma moved her gaze from her father, to Ruby, to her father again, "Sure, dad!" she said and made Graham move so she could get out of the booth.

David escorted Emma towards the bathroom's hallway. The scene didn't go unnoticed by either Regina or Mary Margaret, but both women decided it would be best to stay out of it. The blonde had a resilient spirit, she would do good on her own.

"Is there anything you want to tell me, Emma?" David asked her.

Emma opened her mouth, unsure of what had Robin told her father. If he knew and Emma lied about it, she'd be in trouble. But if he didn't know and Emma came clean, then Robin would be in trouble. "Nope," she lied with a face blank of guilt.

"Are you sure?" he raised an eyebrow.

"Yes, dad," Emma gently shook her head, "I was at school the whole morning mopping the floor, what could I have done?"

"Nothing," he agreed with her, "About this Killian guy -"

"He's just a friend," his daughter interrupted him.

"I don't like him,"

"You don't even know him!" Emma protested. "You just assumed you won't like him because he's my friend,"

"Graham is your friend and I like him,"

"Graham is like my cousin! That's different!" Emma argued, "Do you like August? No. Do you like Jefferson? No,"

"What's your point?"

"My point is that you don't like any of my male friends," the girl raised her voice tone.

"I like Graham!" David defended himself, unaware that he had also raised his voice a bit.

"I told you," Emma shouted "Graham doesn't count!"

Their fight was interrupted by Mary Margaret, who was staring at them with her arms crossed, "Really? Making a scene in the restaurant?" she asked them both, "Emma, your food is getting cold," she told her daughter - that was Emma's cue to leave. "And we," she told David, "Are going to talk about this later,"

Emma exited the bathroom's hallway with her eyebrows furrowed and her arms crossed. Her father was an idiot. Not even seeing Regina, completely annoyed, sitting next to Robin and pretending she was not listening to what he was telling her, made her less angry. Both Robin and Regina looked at her when she walked back into the restaurant, it looked like they wanted to stand up and give her a hug - well, at least in that they could agree on.

The blonde let a breath out as she sat.

"Well, that was not as bad as I expected," Ruby shrugged and returned to her fries. Everyone in the table followed her example, everyone expect Killian. He was sitting too away from him to grab her hand, but he gave her a reassuring look and smiled at her. And Emma smiled back at him.

Maybe Ruby had been right, it hadn't been as bad as she had expected. After all, Killian was still alive.

Notes:

Nope, this is not the end of David not liking Killian. But I think it's a first step that most fathers go through. In the next update, we'll have the side of Regina's lunch with Robin :)

Thanks for all the love!
