Rachel's POV

It's been three months since Quinn and I officially got together. Every moment with her has been perfect. Even when we were fighting, which were usually more verbal disagreements than fights, Quinn has been an absolute angel, and I know how blessed I am to be with her.

After much arguing, Quinn agreed to take up one of the offers from a major law firm in New York City that wanted to make her a partner, and Rachel agreed to try to make her dream of Broadway come true.

Quinn and I had even gone to visit Finn and we told him the news together. Finn, of course, threw a tantrum, kicked a chair and accused us, well mostly Quinn, of trying to take his kids from him.

Quinn, who I'd found out was actually loaded, despite her modest lifestyle, quickly diffused him. Quinn had, to my surprise, told Finn, who had been sleeping on the couch of one of his poker buddies and still hadn't made any attempts at getting better, that once he'd cleaned up his life that she would personally buy and maintain an apartment nearby so that he could be near the kids.

It seemed to pacify him, though he'd made no allusions to getting help. I was worried about him.

But now, Quinn and I were putting the last of our boxes into the moving van as we got ready for the trip to New York. My fathers had shown up. They were playing with the kids until we finished.

"I can't believe we're leaving," I said.

Quinn wrapped her arms around me and kissed my cheek. "It's time, Rach," she said. "You're going to teach the importance of following your dreams to your kids. When they see you up on that Broadway stage they're going to know that they can be whatever they want to be, because their mommy did it first."

"How do you always know the right thing to say?" I asked.

"I'm just incredibly lucky," Quinn said.

I turned around to face her, wrapped my arms around her neck and pulled her in for a kiss.

"You ready?" Quinn asked when she broke the kiss.

"As I'll ever be," I said.

We walked over to where my fathers were playing with the kids on the grass.

"Alright kids," I said, "It's time to go. Say goodbye to Grampy and PopPop."

"Bye Grampy, Bye PopPop," Josephine said. She ran up to each of them and gave them big hugs as my fathers tried not to cry.

Quinn picked Zachariah up, who just waved shyly.

"Let's give Grampy a hug," Quinn said to Zachariah. Zach leaned over to my dad and wrapped his little arms around him.

"What about me?" my papa said. "Don't I get one too?" He pouted.

Zachariah opened his arms reached towards my papa. Quinn moved him closer and Zachariah wrapped his arms around him too when he was close enough.

Quinn got the kids all buckled into the car and then came out to say goodbye as well.

"Hiram," Quinn said to my dad.

"Quinn," my dad said. "You take care of my little girl and my grandbabies."

"Always," Quinn said.

My dad pulled Quinn into a hug. I watched with fondness.

"Quinn," my papa said when my dad let Quinn go.

"Leroy," Quinn said.

"You won't keep my little girl away from us too long, now, right Quinn?" my papa said.

"We'll visit," I piped in.

"Of course," Quinn said. "And anytime you want to come visit, just let me know. I'll take care of your plane tickets and get the guest room set up."

"Careful, Quinn," my dad said. "We just might come and never leave."

"I just want Rachel and the kids to have every opportunity," Quinn said. "I think this is what's best for all of us, but if you ever want to move closer to us, you know you have my full support."

Quinn was just so good with people.

My papa pulled Quinn into a hug too.

Now it was my turn. I didn't even notice I had started crying.

Quinn turned to me. She kissed my forehead. "I'll let you say goodbye," she said. "I'll be in the car when you're done."

"Dad, Papa," I said.

"Our baby girl's all grown up," my dad said.

I rolled my eyes at that. I'm divorced with two kids, did they think I wasn't before?

"Seriously, dads," I said. "Whenever you want to visit, you're always welcome. And Quinn really will help you if you want to move out to New York too."

"No worries, Rachelah," my dad said. "We're going to be fine, and if we want to visit or move, we can handle it ourselves."

"And you," my papa said. "You are going to shine like we always knew you would. We're so proud of you, baby girl."

Five minutes later and I had finally managed to pull myself away from my fathers and get into the car.

"We're really doing this," I said.

"This is just the beginning," Quinn said.

Quinn's POV

The kids fell asleep shortly after we left. It had always been really easy to get them to fall asleep, just drive around for a while and they were out.

Rachel hadn't seen the new place yet, but I had flown out for a weekend to take a look at the place and sign the paperwork.

Rachel and I split the drive into three segments, since the drive was roughly nine hours. I took the first shift and drove until we stopped just inside the Pennsylvania border for some food and to use the bathrooms. Rachel took over the drive from there. We stopped again in Harrisburg for food and bathroom breaks and I took the final shift to our new home.

Since we left around seven in the morning, we didn't arrive until shortly after five in the evening. Rachel and the kids were asleep when we finally arrived. I didn't want to wake them, but I knew I had to at least wake Rachel. Even though we were in one of the safer areas of Manhattan, I still wasn't comfortable leaving any of them in the car.

"Rach," I said softly. I took her hand in mine and rubbed my thumb gently over her hand. "Rach, honey, we're here, wake up."

Slowly, Rachel returned to the land of the conscious.

I smiled fondly. "Welcome to New York, baby," I said.

She smiled back at me.

Our apartment was in Battery Park City. It was listed as the number one family friendly neighborhood in New York City, so of course I wouldn't look at any other neighborhood for our new home.

It would take me a little over a half hour to get to work, but if that was the price for the safest neighborhood for my family and working for the best law firm in the country, well then it was definitely worthwhile. Plus, it really wasn't a bad commute at all. And my office wasn't far from Broadway, so when Rachel makes it big, we'll be really close.

I had to negotiate with my new firm because the hours there could be crazy, but I told them that my family comes first and if they had a problem with that then I would go to one of the other firms that didn't. I wasn't picky. Plus I made the top 10 in the National Law Journal's most recent list of the 100 most influential lawyers. Considering I was at a tiny little law firm in Columbus, it's quite an accomplishment. And I knew I was wanted.

Rachel picked up Jojo and I picked up Zach and I led the way to our apartment. It was spacious with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Surprisingly, it was bigger than my apartment in Columbus.

I watched as Rachel's eyes widened as she looked around.

We were going to be happy here. I knew it.
