Sorry about taking another time to update!
Anyhow, don't miss the next one. Stuff is gonna go down and blow up.
Karin groaned. Around her was the clatter of pots and pans from the kitchen and endless chatter. She could hardly hear anyone over the noise at the restaurant she was currently in.
"How did you drag me into this Matsumoto?" Karin shot death glares towards the lieutenant.
"Oh loosen up! It's a girl's nice out!"
"Yeah. You really oughta loosen up. Don't be so uptight like your brother," Yoruichi agreed.
All six of the women were crowded in a roomy booth. Somehow, Matsumoto had convinced them all to out on a girl's night out.
How did Matsumoto do it?
"Orihime stop inhaling the air!" Tatsuki chastised.
"But I'm so hungry! When's our food coming?" Orihime cried, plopping her head down on the table.
"It won't be long Inoue-san," Yuzu said with a light chuckle.
Karin sighed.
I wish I was back at the ski-lodge by the fire drinking hot-cocoa. Maybe watching a soccer event on the tv.
"Oh Karin! You're wearing the hoodie Hitsugaya-taicho got for you!"' Matsumoto cried out, clasping her hands together and smirking.
At this, all five of them turned towards the Kurosaki twin whose face was heating up.
"It's comfortable!" Karin defended herself. "I'm not going to let it go to waste! It's cold as hell outside!"
"Oh Karin-chan! You're embarrassed!" Yuzu grinned.
"Am not!"
"You're in denial!" Yoruichi said, poking at her.
"Stop that!" She swatted her hand away. "It's not denial! Me and Toshiro are nothing more than friends. Friends." She put the emphasis on friends.
Nothing more than friends. There's nothing between us. Nothing. At. All. Just because he's a guy doesn't mean that I like him. I have plenty of guy friends who I feel nothing for.
"Come on guys. I think that's enough of torturing Karin now," Tatsuki said, leaning backwards.
Karin gave her a silent thank-you in her mind, noting to herself that she would have to thank her when they were alone.
"Here you go!" They all looked up to find their waiter with a plate full of their food. Orihime jumped up at this and nearly grabbed her food off the tray.
Karin sipped her coca-cola, ignoring the chicken that was steaming on her plate. She wasn't exactly hungry and it was too hot right now anyway.
"This is good," Yoruichi commented with a mouthful of chicken leg. She quickly swallowed and chugged down a glass of milk. Once a cat, always a cat.
It wasn't long until Matsumoto began downing sake bottles.
"Waiter! Another one over here!" she called out, waving about her half-empty sake bottle.
"Matsumoto you aren't even done with that one," Karin pointed out.
"Oh you oughta loosen up a little bit! Drink a little!"
Karin declined. She refused to touch anything with alcohol in it. Being an athlete meant she had to keep her body in shape and healthy. That and alcohol seemed appalling to her.
"Come on! One sip!" Matsumoto urged. Karin shook her head again.
"I double-dog dare ya!"
At this Karin hesitated. She was never one to back down from a dare.
"No," she said after a moment's hesitation.
"If you do, I won't make fun of you and taicho anymore! Come on! One sip is all! I triple-dog dare you!"
Karin hesitated again, eyeing the sake bottle warily. She wasn't even old enough to legally drink, she was still underage.
It's only one sip. Just one sip that's all. Maybe Matsumoto will finally stop bugging me about Toshiro.
"Fine."
"Karin-chan are you sure?" Yuzu asked with a frown. She knew her sister couldn't resist a dare but she also knew that she didn't even so much as look at alcohol.
"It's just one sip Yuzu. Besides you heard Matsumoto. She'll stop bugging me about Toshiro. A deal's a deal."
Matsumoto cheered at this. Yoruichi just simply grinned and Rukia watched with curiosity. "What'll Ichigo do if he finds out?" Tatsuki muttered to herself. They all watched Karin in anticipation. Would she really do it?
Karin grasped the sake bottle around her fingers and brought it up to her nose. She sniffed it first and then regretted it. It wasn't exactly a pleasant smell but it was a familiar one. Rangiku did often smell like she had dipped her head in a bucket of sake.
The raven-haired twin brought it up slowly to her lips and swallowed it.
It tasted warm.
"It's strange," Karin said as she put the sake bottle back on the table. She licked her lips, finding the strange taste addicting.
"You grow to love it," Matsumoto said with a grin.
Throughout the rest of the night, Karin found herself unable to stop herself from sipping the rest of the sake. It wasn't long until she asked for another bottle. And another one.
And it wasn't long until she and Matsumoto had their arms around each other's necks, grinning and laughing like a couple of drunken idiots. Which is actually what they were.
Yuzu could only look at her sister with worried glances. Yoruichi just grinned and laughed along with them, drinking a sake bottle of her own. Rukia didn't join them until the two were completely drunk out of their minds.
"I guess we're stuck with the task of getting them back to the ski-lodge," Orihime said with a nervous smile.
"Yeah," Yuzu nodded.
"Pschh, we can- we can, get ourselves there," Karin said, slurring a little bit.
"Oy Ichigo is such a dense guy! He completely ignores all my signals and hints that I drop! An- And, he won't even admit that he likes me to. It's-it's, It's so frustrating!" Rukia ranted, slamming her sake bottle on the table, causing some of it to topple out.
"Oh Rukia-chan! Don't cha worry! We're gonna get Ichigo to- to, notice ya! We're giving you a-a make-over!" Matsumoto declared.
"Are ya crazy? A makeover ain't gonna make Ichi-nii any less dense. He's still gonna ignore all the signals!" Karin cried out.
"But- but, it'll work! I know it! I am, the match-maker!"
"You hardly know what love is!"
"Rukiaaa, you know Ichigo is so naive. You're gonna have to tell him straight up," Yoruichi pointed out.
"Why are men so dense!?" Rukia placed her forehead down and banged her fist on the table.
"I feel you Rukia. I do," Karin grumbled.
The rest of the night was spent with angry shouts from their booth as the rest of the customers slowly trickled away.
"Karin are you sure?"
"Yes Yuzu. You just go to your room, I'll be fine!" Karin slurred.
Everyone had somehow made it make to the ski-lodge and their rooms without fail.
"Okay," her twin said uncertainly. She watched her sister stumble down the hall.
"Oy," Karin muttered as she held on to the wall. For some reason she couldn't fathom, it was all so funny to her. She giggled as she almost tripped.
"Oopsy," she said. "Are you okay?" she asked the floor.
She stared at it for a minute before laughing and continuing on her journey to her room.
After fiddling with the knob for a minute she finally swung the door open to a startled Hitsugaya.
"Karin?" he asked.
"Heeeeyy...uhm," she frowned in confusion for a minute. "Shiro-chan!" She finally said with a laugh.
"What are you doing?" He asked, now confused. This was not how Karin acted. It was almost as if someone had stolen Karin's personality and replaced it with a polar-opposite person.
Karin stumbled forward before catching herself on the mini fridge.
"Whoopsy!" she giggled.
Giggled?
Karin giggled?
Toshiro stared at her with wide eyes, shock all over his face.
Karin didn't giggle. Period.
He quickly got up and made his way towards her when the unmistakable but familiar stench hit his nose.
"Karin are you drunk?!"
"Noooo," she denied for stumbling forwards once more.
He quickly reached out and caught her just as she fell.
"Ah thank you shiro-chan!" she giggled again. Toushiro frowned at her, knowing it would be pointless to tell her not to call him that. He already knew that there was nothing you could say to a drunk to make them listen.
"I'm going to confront Matsumoto about this," he sighed.
"Ah no , no. Ma-Matsumoto dared me to drink the sake a-and I proved her wrong. Haha!"
Toshiro winced as he felt the hot breath of alcohol on her. He hated it.
"Time-ti-time for bed," Karin said as she lazily pushed him out of the way and made an effort to get to bed, almost falling with each step.
As soon as she made her way she fell onto her pillow. "You know Toshirooo, you're a- a- really good friend."
By the end of the sentence she was slurring and then she was out like a light. Out cold.
Toshiro shook his head at her as he made his own way towards his own bed.
"Matsumoto, what have you done?"
The next day was not nearly as pleasant.
"Ohhh," Karin groaned as her eyes fluttered opened.
She felt like someone was kicking her in the head.
Repeatedly.
Karin tried to sit up and groaned. Sitting up was not a good idea.
"Finally glad to see someone's sober," Toshiro said smugly.
Karin looked up and glared.
"I feel like someone is kicking me in the head," she complained.
"Your fault for getting drunk," Toshiro snorted.
"Stop yelling," Karin winced.
Hitsugaya just shook his head at her in disapproval.
Karin stood up slowly, clutching her head. "Oy," she groaned.
She slowly made her way to the bathroom. It was slow progress, but eventually she made it.
She had planned on just taking a nice soothing bath but unfortunately her stomach didn't agree.
As soon as she made it, she was leaning over the toilet, vomiting.
"Kurosaki?" Toshiro walked into the doorway of the bathroom. He saw Karin hugging the toilet, a sight that he had often seen Matsumoto in before.
He pondered what to do. Should he go and get Yuzu? But if he did that, Karin would probably get mad at him for making Yuzu worry when there's nothing she could do.
He did the only thing he could think of.
He held her hair back as she vomited.
"You know, I didn't ask for your help," Karin grunted she looked up.
"Is that anyway to say thank-you?"
"Thank y-" she began sarcastically but then quickly broke off as she plunged her head back into the toilet.
He winced and looked away, not really wanting to see the puke.
"Seriously though. Thank you," Karin said as she looked up.
"It's nothing. I imagine getting vomit in your hair isn't fun."
"Yeah," she said with a tiny grin.
Karin got up shakily and flushed the toilet.
She grabbed a towel and wiped her mouth off before throwing it into the hamper.
"I've decided that I'm never getting drunk again."
Toshiro just scoffed at that. "I hope you don't. You're horrible when you're drunk."
"What? What did I do?"
"You giggled. And you were nice to me."
"I am nice to you!" Karin yelled and then grimaced. She quickly rubbed her forehead.
"No you aren't."
"I don't even know why I bother talking to you sometimes," she grumbled.
"Because I'm a really goood friend," he said mimicking her from last night.
"You are not!"
Hnnnng, I really feel like Toshiro was OC in this chapter. I'll probably rewrite it later or something. Not really sure how the real Toshiro would react to a drunk Karin though.
Anyhow, sorry this chapter was a bit shorter than my other ones. Gah xc Next one will be better, I promise.
