Kaigo's POV

"What?" I asked, slowly gaining strength.

"You heard me! You're not done yet, so hurry up and get up!" The figures lively attitude began to sway mine, a bit like how Ruby can completely turn around a gloomy mood with one try.

"Not sure if you noticed, but…" I got up from one leg into a kneeling position, "I've been impaled, so maybe I can take some time off," I shifted from kneeling to sitting and was left to gaze into the dark void.

"That's not true! Just take off your jumper," the figure crouched down besides me and slipped my jumper off my wound. I looked down and my eyes widened, the wound was gone, it was just my skin stained by a large pool of blood,

"H-" before I could even utter a single word, he cut me off and answered my question,

"Your friend Jaune healed you up, too bad he couldn't take away the blood stains!" My curiosity got the better of me and I looked up at him, only to make my eyes ever wider than they already were, "that's right! I'm also Utsu!"

I don't know how I didn't notice his silver hair practically glistening in the darkness, along with his two complete silver eyes. His hair style was almost similar if not the exact same as it was with mine, just long enough for it stray over his eyes. He was wearing a plain blue t-shirt as well as some jeans, the exact attire he wore when I possessed him.

"How am I still alive? I thought once you took control, I'd be forced out and die," I stood up and looked ahead, then realised something crucial, "wait, if you really did take control, then why are you here?"

"I'm still trying to figure out your first question," he folded his arms together and thought for a bit, "I'm pretty when Jaune was healing my body, he was giving me enough power to gain control, not break your semblance…as for your second question, you of all people should know who's in control,"

"..." I fully turned to Utsu, looking for an answer,

"Think about it, the last time you saw or rather felt me was when I gave you enhanced sight, what did you say then?"

"...I have to confront… his lust!" My head snapped backwards and I looked further into the abyss to see another Utsu fighting what seemed to be nothing.

"What's he doing?" I asked as my brother walked beside me,

"Fighting mom and dad," my rage spike up instantaneously, "but I've been putting it off, so it's struggling," my rage shifted into confusion,

"Putting him off? What do you mean?" I asked.

"I've been shouting your words at it, every time it hears them, it hesitates, leaving wide openings,"

"What words?" I questioned,

"Y'know..." my brother put on a very smug look, "the fact that you want to change them and guide the misguided," Utsu's teasing led me to going red and blurting out,

"I was serious when I said that!" He let out a little chuckle before my face cooled down, "just… tell me what I need to do,"

"I need you to talk to it, try to make it see the good in the world" Utsu paused and looked down with sorrow, "I-I'd do it, but lust isn't apart of me anymore… and to be honest, I'm disgusted that I was once like that," there was a few moment of silence before I punched him in his arm, sending the boy stumbling backwards.

"Why'd you hit me!" My brother regained his balance and blurted out.

"Don't beat yourself up about it, I'm only allowed to do that, just stop dwelling in the past and focus on the now, like I mean, we're having a normal conversation without trying to kill each other,"

Utsu slowly put his hand on where I hit him whilst gazing at me with surprising then cheered,

"K!"

I smiled back, then turned to the lust, I approached it and saw it was stationary while panting. I placed my hand upon its shoulder and closed my eyes.

My vision was now filled with the night sky lighting up a forest with three others, the lust, mother and father.

Hey, whatcha up to?

...What does it look like? I'm ending them.

You heard those voices before right?

What about them.

Will you let me?

So you where saying them, do me a favour and pipe down.

Nope! I wasn't saying them.

Dad was now holding a tree and was preparing to chuck it at us.

Then who was!?

The lust ran straight towards it, slipped past and brought out his claw.

If I tell you you wouldn't like it

TELL ME

His tail coiled and tightened around dad's wrist, he used it to avoid the sniper shot that I couldn't hear fast enough.

...Utsu said those words, your nothing but a lust that he used to have.

W-what? His tone changed drastically, too quickly and too much. Something else must have clicked.

Narrator's POV

On the outside world, 'Utsu' or the lust, just stopped, the sudden reveal that he was nothing but an emotion was too much for him to bear.

There's not enough evidence you say?

Well explain to me why his mother did not recognise him, or why is Kaigo still alive?

Anyway, the connections seemed to be more than coincidences, and now the lust was mad,

"If I am an emotion, than I don't have to live for anyone," his head jolted up revealing a broken kid, "I can't even live for myself anymore!"

With that statement, aura was being sent throughout his entire body and with a mighty roar, he attained power beyond relief.

All this power made it harder to sustain the connection between Kaigo and the lust, the black haired kid attempted to keep his hand on, but eventually it went flying off.

"What happened!?" He asked aloud.

"You shouldn't have gone there, even though he is stronger and should be more controlled, he still has the mind of a 14 year old," Utsu approached Kaigo and pushed him to the child beaming with power, "you have to try again, if he exerts all his power, we'll die along with him," his tone was serious and refined, completely different from the attitude he had when Kaigo woke up.

Kaigo nodded and went to place his hand on the lust's shoulder. A force was pushing it back, but he still managed.

Hey… you alr-

Shut up. Kaigo began to see into the real world again, he saw his father getting freakishly excited and his mother subtly trembling,

You know you'll die if you don't calm down.

I have nothing to live for anymore, I'll just kill them and be done with it.

Please don't.

WHY SHOULD I LISTEN TO YOU, WHY SHOULD I LISTEN TO ANYONE ANYMORE!

The lust sprinted to his father at his top speed, practically appearing before him.

I'M NOTHING TO NOBODY ANYMORE, NOT EVEN UTSU WANTS ME BACK!

His father reacted with a quick swat, the boy (with ease) deflected it and seized him by the throat.

I know your position right now is tough, but I've been through the same rage that your going through, and I'm still living on, especially for myself and others.

A sniper shot rang through the air, aiming for the boy's arm, his father caught one second of relief as he thought the boy would release, however, to his surprise the bullet pierced through his arm cleanly and he still kept a tight grip.

I don't even have a name that others can call me but, if anything, I'm onl-

Azlaan!

The boy's grip loosened, enough for air to rush back into the poor man's lungs.

Azlaan?

Yeah! Even though Utsu and Kaigo are pretty cool with them being opposites, I've also thought that Azlaan would be a cool name! So why not give it to a unique emotion like you?

Kaigo's mother looked down her scope in shock, she knew her bullet connected, but nothing happened,

"Please Kaigo," she begged, "prove your father wrong and come back...please," her eyes began to tear up as she began to load a new cartridge.

Unique?

Well, yeah, a lust can be for anything, not just revenge? L-like I mean, you can have a lust for keeping everything tidy!

Sweat starting rolling down Kaigo's cheeks, everything he's been saying is just being made up on the spot, he was afraid if his technique wasn't working at all.

Another sniper shot rang through the air, this time, piercing Azlaan's leg, causing him to buckle, but at the same time keeping his grip on his father's throat.

A few moments later, his father gained enough air to latch onto the boy's arm and completely swat it away, causing the newly named kid to jump back on impulse.

But..what are you trying to get at exactly?

I just want you to calm down, you're ex-

CALM DOWN?!

Azlaan landed square on two feet and the excessive strands of aura roaming about in the air grew more vigorous.

They're the ones who lied to our faces! And you want me to calm down! They've put you through so much suffering and you want to approach this calmly.

Azlaan's head jolted up with a bloodthirsty expression.

And I'll end them right here.

The boy began to slowly approach his father, another sniper shot rang throughout the air, and just like with his left arm, he didn't bother to move it out of the way, Azlaan just let it pierce the same arm and continued walking with a malevolent expression.

No, you don't understand! If you keep exerting this much power, we'll all disappear!

Like I said, I have nothing to live for anymore! So why don-

LIVE FOR ME DAMMIT.

Azlaan shuddered at Kaigo's shout, it was short and brief but definitely noticeable, so his father took advantage of that one moment and rushed him.

Live for you? How am I supposed to do that as a lust?

Do what Utsu's been doing and watch over me, help me out when I need it.

His father swung and aimed for his temple, going for an instant knock out, however in Azlaan's state, he saw through the attack straight away.

All he did was move into him and block the attack with the back of his fist, a moment later, his father's left hand dropped due to being struck in a precise pressure point,

"Why?" The boy spoke aloud and within at the same time, "I ruined your life! I tried to kill your parents who in your eyes, back then where your everything, so why aren't you mad at me!"

Everyone was shocked by this, the parents were shocked because of the sudden outburst after countering, but the boy's were shocked because the lust seemed to be expressing sorrow.

Because I want to change people to make the world a better place.

"How are you going to change me then? I'm a lust set to kill father and mother."

That's easy… just change.

You already have in fact! Your expressing a different emotion than lust and you're even crying!

Kaigo's dad stumbled back to hold his disabled wrist, his mother got closer as she finally realised that her bullet's were having no effect.

Azlaan (in shock) slowly placed his hand on his cheek and felt a large stream of tears. He then dropped his head and fumbled with his words,

"C-can you… uhh p-ple, jus-"

Don't worry, I'll take over from here. With that confident comment, Azlaan began slowly dematerialising and phasing back into Utsu while his body in realty remained docile.

"Well Utsu," Kaigo turned around, only to be taken aback by his brother's abrupt expression, it was one that expressed remorse, one that he had seen once, and that once was the moment before the fire,

"Well…" Utsu slowly looked back up and forced a smile, "looks like you did it… you can go back and continue living on without being threatened for your life again!" soon after, he returned to sulking.

"Hey," Kaigo resisted the urge to punch him again and instead placed his hand on Utsu's shoulder, "hey… I promise… I'll find a way to let us have another leisualary conversation, just like we had just a few moments ago,"

Kaigo then dissipated into the void, signalling his escape, Utsu placed his hand where Kaigo's was and whispered.

"I'll hold you to that…"

Kaigo's POV

My vision went from Utsu's expression to my parents standing before me, my father was still holding his wrist and my mother had her hands to her mouth.

Everything else was dead still and dead silent. There wasn't any wind rustling the autumn leaves, no strands of Azlaan's wild lust and certainly no sounds of a battle.

"Hey guys, it's me Kai-" I tried to raise my left arm to wave, but an incredible pain had hit it, sending sickening waves throughout my entire body, "grn" that was the sound my body regurgitated in replace for the end of my name.

"Phew, I was thinking that body of yours was immortal," my father taunted while scraping his knuckle dusters together.

The pain caused me to fall on my right leg, and yet again, the same pain had struck me again, were these the wounds from the sniper shots?

I peered over at my left arm and attempted to look for the wound. Eventually, I found a small hole rapidly spewing blood, I checked my right leg and there was also a hole oozing blood.

I glanced up at my parents and saw that my father had disappeared, a few moments later a shadow had fallen over me, I glanced up and saw my father above me, ready to smash my head in.

I didn't have enough time to transform and escape, so I blocked it with my arms, right on top of left.

He connected with them, and they definitely broke, thankfully he bounced straight off of them, giving me the chance to transform and latch onto a nearby tree. My back hit the trunk and my head slumped down, all I had to do now was to get up.

Get up!

Get up!

I kept shouting at myself, but my body wouldn't respond, it had reached it's limit and Azlaan had probably expended all the aura in this body.

Get up!

Get up!

I thought I stopped telling myself to get up, but the command kept repeating.

Get up!

Get up!

Just shut up already, what could I do in this state? I can't even stand with one leg and two broken arms. So just shut up, it's hopeless now…

...

Don't you want to see Ruby again?

My eyes snapped open and my tail latched onto the trunk a bit higher than I was.

And Jaune, Nora and Ren, don't you want to see them too?

The silver tail slowly began to pull me up, while I rammed myself into the tree with my left leg.

And while your at it, why not get to know Yang and Weiss better?

I slowly began to slip into a standing position, however, my tail was beginning to give out.

After all, they're your allies right? Nearly the whole reason why I changed.

My tail coiled around even further and I was now pulled into a standing position, with my left leg bracing me against the trunk, arms dangling by my sides and right leg hovering above the ground.

"Thanks Utsu," I mumbled before fixating my vision upon my parents who seemed to be completely shocked by my act.

"It amazes me how far people can push their limits," he approached me in heavy steps, "anyway, it's time to finish this,"

"No. Fighting," I breathed loud enough for him to hear.

"No fighting, isn't that the one thing you should be doing right now?" My father taunted, only to receive a short burst of my anger,

"NO IT ISN'T!" It hurt to shout, so I toned down a bit, "I've spent countless days in pain, and countless hours in tears just to reach this point, so why would I want to fight?" I slowly started to feel alive again, my body was healing pretty quick,

"So what do you want to do then?" I finally heard my mother's voice, it was sweet and refined, it startled me a bit so I delayed my answer,

"I want… to change the two of you, I want to go back to the days where we would all smile together, I want to say mom and dad with a smile on my face, so please… please grant that for me… I know you want that as well,"

My father let out a deep sigh before replying,

"What's stopping me from shutting you up for good?" My mother quivered at his comment,

"Yourself… you will stop yourself from killing me," I said with confidence,

"How would you know!?" With my enhanced sight still in effect I watched as my father threw his fist at me, going straight for my face.

"I know because your my father and I'm your son," I managed to fit in that statement which caused him to strike the space just above my head, just missing my fauness ears.

The dust from his strike cleared and he hesitantly pulled back,

"H-how, how did I miss?" My father cried out, to which I replied,

"I told you, because your my father, like I mean, what sort of dad would try and kill his own son? Certainly not mine!" I sounded more cheerful, alive and confident by the second, I don't know how, but I was healing pretty fast.

"Come on," My mother leaned on my father's arm and stated something which blew my mind, "y'know I was against your 'rampage' plan from day one, Kaigo's given us a chance to live a normal life, so why not take it,"

It took every muscle in my brain to not react as abruptly as possible, my mother, who I hadn't heard from in 10 years, was against my dad's plan from the beginning?

"Wait," My father said in a desperate tone, "earlier you said, all of us would smile together, so how will you free Utsu without killing yourself?" I took a quick moment to come up with answer,

"I don't know, but I'm sure there's a way somewhere in the world, besides, I made a promise to him that we'll have another leisurely conversation again," me and my mother were smiling at him now, telling him to admit defeat and succumb to a normal life.

He didn't say anything afterwards, he just took off his knuckle dusters and threw them to the ground, I followed them and they made a dust cloud which dissipated rather quickly, shortly after, there were small damp circles on the grass, appearing on after the other.

I smirked and looked up at the man and saw he was crying,

"To think, that my decision in order to transform you into a destructive weapon… backfired to the point where I would be crying… is stupid, but here I am, crying at how stupid I was," his voice cracked multiple times and my mother wiped his tears. I took the final step and released my tail from the trunk of the tree, falling into his arms.

"It's Ok, everyone makes mistakes," and with that he hugged me tightly while crying on the top of my head, I peered over to my mother, and saw her lovely smile, one from 10 years ago.

I had done it, I changed them, or much rather, my father.

In that short brief moment, I felt the biggest happiness ever, one that literally raised your heart up.

But after… I felt nothing. I saw nothing. Smelt nothing and heard nothing as I disconnected from the world.

I couldn't even react to what happened, couldn't squeak out any sounds.

It was like a light bulb.

On.

Then off.
