Author's Note:

Hey everyone. So I've been kinda silent on this story lately because after posting the last chapter I had an anon on Tumblr send me hate and everything about what I've been doing for this story and...it was all just a mess. First off I'm going to state it here and I'll ONLY say it this one time, what I do with the characters in this story is pretty much up to me since it's a FANFICTION and of course shouldn't be taken as actual canon, nor should it be taken as anything personal of the sorts. Okay? Just because I'm following the stories and using the characters from the canon of the tv show doesn't suddenly make it canon...okay? It's still a fanfiction and I'm STILL GOING TO KEEP WRITING It.

Good. Agreed.

As always, Season 1 belongs to the genius mind of Max Landis. Everything with Amity or any twists that were not in the show, but that are in this story belongs to me, another crazy genius.

A Holistic Adventure

BBCA Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency

Weaponized Soul

They appeared one week into the past and just as they did so, Amity lost her balance, falling to the ground. Both guys managed to catch her in the nick of time. Not using her powers in such a long time had taken a toll on how long she could use them. It still wasn't perfectly under control yet and required a lot on her part.

"Amity, you okay?" Todd asked, clearly worried.

"Yeah, I'll be fine. Just need to recuperate a bit." She replied, giving a thumbs up.

"What? What happened? Are we- Wh-Where are we? Are we still here?" Todd asked, looking around. They hadn't moved. They were still in the same place as before.

"For the moment, yes. But at the moment? No." Dirk responded sounding all cryptic. This caused Amity to roll her eyes, chuckling a little. "We're in the past."

"The Unlimited Energy Device is a time machine? Did- Did you know that?" Todd suddenly asked Amity, who was giving her all to stand up.

Amity shrugged. "Well...it was a good guess really. Kinda made sense with all we've been experiencing lately."

"But the good news is-" Before Dirk could finish that, they all suddenly heard Gordon and some men coming into a room as they quickly hid themselves. "Never mind, there's no good news."

"All right, get the machine. Plug it in. Put the dog there. We're switching her into the dog and the dog into her." Gordon said, giving his legion of bald men orders. They came in holding a dog and with Lydia, who was tied and gagged. "Tie her in."

"That's Lydia!" Todd whispered, pointing out.

They strapped the dog and Lydia side to side next to the machine, putting helmets on them. "Good, good. Sorry Rupunzel. Everybody, back up!" Electricity began to spark as they started up the machine. After that, Amity could piece together the rest of the story herself. She looked away, just listening to it all at this point.

They were sent here for a reason. They had to fix everything, but how? How?!

Gordon and his experiments continued on for a bit until someone new came into the equation, a Jake Rainey. They argued about souls and Patrick Spring who had the Unlimited Energy Device. It ended with Gordon leaving with the machine as Rainley held his dog captive. Somehow this Rainley sounded like a girl. However, the next thing that happened got Amity's attention back once again.

A man in heavy armour arrived, bursting through the door and began killing all the Men of the Machine in sight before coming over to finish the three of them off as well. Quickly, Amity held up her hands and using what little energy she had left to hold him back a little.

"We're not with them! We're on the same side!" Both Dirk and Todd shouted.

"Who are you?" The man asked.

"Don't you see, Todd? This has all already happened!" Dirk said, turning to explain the situation despite a steampunk armoured man pointing a gun at him.

Amity began to lose her energy, causing the man to finally go forward and push them into a wall. "Who are you and what are you doing here?" He demanded once again.

"Dirk, what's going on? Who is this guy?" Todd asked, eyeing the gun carefully.

A smile came to Dirk's face. "I solved the case, and this is Patrick Spring."

The helmet began to slide up a little, revealing the man behind the mask; indeed, Patrick Spring himself. Amity and Todd looked to him, surprised. So this was it, this was the guy that started it all.

Patrick lifted his gun up more to Dirk, causing the detective to panic. "Please don't kill us! I can explain!" Patrick lowered his gun a bit. "You go by Patrick Spring now, but your real name is Zackariah Webb, and you made a terrible mistake. In the 1880s, you attempted to build a time machine...but there was a problem. At first, the device only half worked, it only sent energy through time, not matter. It jumped the very souls right out the bodies. This cost you the lives of many of your beloved pets. Eventually, you fixed it, sort of. You accidentally sent the machine into the future, and then, suddenly the machine came back, not exactly the same as the one you sent. It had been altered. Clearly, something had gone very wrong. Whatever had happened, you had to undo it, so, in your mind, you only had one option; Jump to the future."

Obviously what Dirk was telling Patrick Spring seemed to be right because he had now put gun down completely.

"The machine you used to travel forward was there in your there was no sign of the original time machine you accidentally sent into the future that started this whole mess. You had to find it. In real time, more than 80 years have passed, and it looks like someone else is now occupying your mansion. There are squatters in the house you abandoned, a group of hippies led by a man named Jake Rainey, and they had your original time say "Hey! Give me that machine back!" They say, "No, "this magically appeared from nowhere, and is clearly meant for us, you give us your machine." "No, you don't even know what it does!" "We don't care, we're super crazy!" No, give me my machine right now!" There's too many of them. You run, and it's all very scary. To fight him, though, you need money, and resources. Fortunately, you're a brilliant inventor, and you discover a way to turn your time machine into an unlimited energy device. You move into the Ridgely, take the name Edgar Spring, and begin to build your empire. You find the future fascinating. The advances are irresistible. Also, you can't leave until you wrest your machine back from Rainey. But Ah-hah! Another wrinkle. The bad guys had figured out how to use what was originally a glitch in your time machine to swap souls into different bodies. Rainey could literally become a different person."

Amity yawned, finding Dirk's long monologue of Patrick Spring's life to be...well, a bit drawn out. The guy must have already known all of this.

"He used this ability to stay young and grow more powerful, eventually confronting said, "Our group is growing, "You can't hide it forever. Just surrender the machine you're using to make energy. " And then you said, "I can't do that. " "This is gonna be a war. Then everything from here on, the blood is on your hands.""

"It already was." Patrick said sadly.

"You've spent decades waging a war in secret trying to get ahead of your enemy. The hippies renamed themselves, "The Men of the Machine," and Rainey made good on his promise. It was war. They wanted your Unlimited Energy Device, and you needed to get back the Time Machine that was now a Soul Swapper. But you couldn't get the upper hand. Things seemed hopeless. Your life was dark, and you were full of rage. Could you keep living like this? That's when something you never expected happened. You fell in love. Lydia was born. You had a beautiful daughter. You were happier than you ever thought you could be. But then terrible tragedy struck. They killed your wife. That was the last straw. You had finally had enough. You decided to skip directly to the end. You jumped to the future, hopefully to catch your enemies completely by surprise. Which is what led you here, today."

The end of the story brought a tear to Amity's eyes. This poor man, he had been through so much shit and all because of one wrong mistake. She could relate herself.

"Is that basically what happened? " Dirk asked, causing Todd and Amity to look at him surprised he just spent a good 5 minutes saying all that and he didn't even know if he was right or not?!

It looked like all of it wasn't in their favor before Patrick finally replied. "How could you possibly know all that?"

"I got it all right?" Dirk was amazed.

"How?" Patrick demanded to know.

"Well, it seemed obvious to me-" Patrick took Dirk by his throat, shoving him back against the wall. "I have magic powers." He said in a high pitch voice.

Amity rolled her eyes at him as Todd spoke up. "So, wait, why didn't you just-" Patrick aimed his gun at Todd, causing him to back up. "Whoa, whoa! Wh-What's the use in picking it all apart? No, what's done is done, and that's that, so great job, I think!"

"I did the best I could." He told them.

"Yes, definitely, 100%." Both Todd and Dirk agreed frantically. " Totally reasonable series of logical decisions What's crazy about that?"

Amity finally stood up, speaking. "We are not the enemy." This caused Patrick to look behind him, giving the girl a look. "We are just here to save your daughter. Lydia's in danger."

"What's happened to her?" He asked, letting Todd and Dirk go.

Dirk began to explain the situation to him. "They're taking her to the Perryman Grand Hotel to meet you the older you but listen, there's more elements at play here than you realize-" Patrick grabbed Dirk by the throat again, shoving him up against the wall and pointed his gun at Todd.

"Don't get in my way." He warned them before turning to give Amity a look as well and walking away.

Todd began to lead them outside the door, impressing Amity for a change. He held one of the men's shotbow. However, there was no quick or easy escape for them as they found all the vehicle's out had the tires shot out by Patrick.

"Do you think he realizes this is the day he's murdered? I mean the other him." Todd said, finding how it all hurt his brain. "Goddamnit, my brain hurts."

"Look, I'm still figuring it all out myself, but it's possible that this is why he was murdered." Amity and Todd looked to the detective, confused. Dirk gasped, suddenly realizing something. "Three questions, one answer. That's what it means. We got three maps that led to one solution."

"Zackariah Webb, Edgar Spring, and Patrick Spring." Todd mumbled.

"Three men are actually one man jumping through time."

Amity finally realized it along with him. "That means The Unlimited Energy Device, the Soul Exchanger, and The Time Machine Right, three machines are actually one machine, existing simultaneously, but out of chronological sequence."

"Wait, wait! If this is the morning, then Patrick Spring, the present Patrick Spring, isn't dead yet. Farah's still being held by those creepy guys, and Amanda," Todd looked wide eyed at Amity. "Amanda! Oh my god, we can fix this! We can save Lydia Spring and fix everything!" She smiled at him, both cheering like happy children.

"Well, yes, that was my plan originally, but-"

"We've got to get to the Perryman !" Todd said, racing with Amity. Dirk groaned at them not listening to him, following after. It was all foot for them from here as they hoped over a wall and into the zoo. Suddenly noticing the camera's looking at them, Todd ducked. "Shit! There's camera's everywhere. Stay down, we can't get caught."

Amity however ignored it, walking along the zoo. They were on a mission.

"Look at you, running around with a crossbow. And Amity who is walking around, fearless. You both are like action heroes."

However, a ranger vehicle drove in close to where they were walking by, causing the three of them to duck and hide behind an outside gift shop cart. " We don't have time to sneak through the whole zoo. We can't just-" Todd said, before pausing and looking up at something very familiar. It was a gorilla mask. The same one he had seen from the video tape. He went up and grabbed it, piecing it all together. "Do you realize what this is?"

"A Gorilla mask, obviously. What about it?" Amity asked, wondering what was up.

"It's fate! It's destiny. This gorilla mask, it's just like the one I saw on the tape." Todd told her. "It's a sign." A smile came to Amity's face.

"Todd, I don't think you're thinking this through." Dirk began, trying to rationally explain it to him.

"I had a vision, Dirk. I'm ahead of you for once." Todd smiled, taking pleasure in this. "I had a vision of myself wearing these clothes. My sister hates me, I've got no job, everything I own is destroyed, but this could change everything."

Amity sighed, giving Dirk a look. "If he's got a chance to fix everything, let him take it. That's what we're here for, right?"

"Hey, is someone back there?" A voice asked.

Todd instantly grabbed a giraffe mask, putting it on. Amity went along with and grabbed a mask as well. He ran out with his bow, aiming it at the worker. "We're time-traveling detectives on our way to stop a murder! Get on the ground, and toss the keys away from you! We're taking your truck!"

Amity chuckled before following out. Dirk however, wasn't happy about this situation at all.

"Listen, before we go into the hotel, now is the time for us to take a moment, and think, really think about how we're going to do this." Dirk said getting out of the truck and trying to convince both of the enthusiastic rebels. "We have a unique opportunity here, and we need to be careful how we use it."

"It's 9:36. I didn't get up to the penthouse until after 10:00." Todd told him.

"If we're gonna do this, we have to go right now." Amity said, trying to push Dirk out of the way so she can get out.

"There's three elevators guest, service, and freight. If we don't want to be seen, we can go through the loading bay, and take the service elevator."

"If Gordon Rimmer and his goons are in there, we need a better plan than that. You saw the aftermath of what happened in the penthouse. or what's going to happen, or not." Todd wasn't listening to Dirk however. He was distracted by the lottery ticket he just now noticed in the ashtray. "What are you holding?"

Amity gasped. "No way, is that?"

Todd showed her it, amazed. "It's the lottery ticket. I'm meant to have it!" He paused, starting to lose his positive mood. "Or wait, if the lottery ticket is in this truck, then how-how could-"

Dirk put the Gorilla mask on top of his head. "Todd, never mind, you were right. There's no time for this, come on!"

The three began to make their way up to the hotel, but ended up running across the Men of the Machine with Gordon and Lydia. "Okay, staff elevator's out." Todd told them. "Uh we can go in through the service entrance and take the freight. It's slow, but if we hurry, we can make it in time."

"Can you get us into the penthouse?" Dirk asked him.

"Well, no, but-" Dirk sighed before Todd continued. "The master key! It's in the office. We can use it on any room in the hotel."

"I'm on it." Amity said, making her way past them. The guys put their masks on and followed.

Once Todd's boss left his office, they made at mad dash in as Todd fumbled around and found the key. However, they saw a figure walking towards the room, causing them to take cover. It was Todd who went in to look for the master key he would never find.

"Wait, if that's the key-" Todd whispered, finally putting that whole day altogether now.

They peaked around the corner to see Patrick Spring at the opposite end of the hall, heading up the stairs and began running after him. Running into the open doorway, they saw the scene before them in the penthouse. Patrick Spring had his guns aimed at Gordon Rimmer and his bald men. The older Patrick Spring was looking at his other self.

"When you find Lydia, tell her I loved her. Tell her I'm sorry. It never ended any other way." The Older Patrick Spring said, his voice sounding torn. "And good luck, Dirk. I'm sorry I hit you."

"Oh god, no." Dirk and Amity said, realizing what was going to happen.

"Who the hell are those guys?" Gordon yelled, looking to the three of them.

Patrick shot one of the bald men holding the black kitten, causing it to react as the shark soul within sparked, knocking some people back, killing them. Blood splattered across the walls and Gordon screamed, racing behind a couch for saftey before it got him. The older Patrick pushed Lydia back onto the ground, standing in the way to save her. Amity noticed this and tried to use her powers to save him, but she was still weak and the shark was far too strong.

It ended up killing him right before the soul jumped back into the body of the black kitten, who landed on the ground.

The gang began to help Patrick Spring up, rushing out of the murder scene before they were found. It was going to be hard to explain how a kitten shark murdered everyone here and they survived it.

As they ran down the stairs, Gordon Rimmer tried to stop them. Todd shot an arrow at him, causing him to leave them alone as they continued on. He went back to get Lydia which had the soul of the dog in her.

"Holy shit. What the hell just happened? What did he mean, "It always ended this way?" Todd exclaimed, helping Patrick down the stairs. When they rounded the corner, they ended up running into...Dirk?!

"Dirk?" Todd and Amity questioned.

The current Dirk wearing the Gorilla mask slammed his other self into the wall, before revealing himself. " Oh, right! Listen very carefully-"

"What's happening?" He asked, finding this hard to believe.

"It's a mess up there, but we're gonna figure it out."

"Who's are those two?" He asked, pointing at Todd and Amity.

"They are your best friends. Hopefully, they'll forgive us." Dirk continued explaining the situation to his other self. "Listen to me, he's at the Ridgely Building - The Ridgely."

"What's that guy over there?" He asked.

"No time to explain. Three questions, one answer, you understand? Do you?" The other Dirk shook his head. "Ah! There's no time! Get the kitten! We forgot it! Go! Run!"

The other Dirk began to do so before Amity realized something, stopping him in his tracks. "It all makes sense now." She said, chuckling before kissing him a bit too passionately. She actually did end up kissing him, but didn't know it was because she would come to like him over time. Pulling away, Dirk looked to her surprised. She handed him a mask. " That was for good luck, now get moving!"

"Okay! I'm I'm going to do something! Right now!" Dirk said, feeling motivated as he ran off.

Todd looked to Amity, giving her a look. He wondered if she had a crush on the detective just from the way that kiss was. Even Dirk gave her a look, remembering it vividly now. Amity noticed, blushing a little. "Oh, shut up. I only did it because I was told. Come on, we've got to get out of here! Run!"

Todd, becoming enraged, slammed the detective against the wall. "It was a loop. It was a time loop! You remembered that happening! That's how you got the gorilla mask! It wasn't a coincidence. That's how you knew to get the kitten! And why you told Amity to do that!"

"Well, no, I didn't have any context, I just thought that Well, I mean, once we'd got here, it was obvious."

"Yeah, maybe to someone reading it in a book, not when you're living it!"

"We have to get out of the hotel."

Todd wouldn't listen to it any longer. "No! You knew it was a time machine! You lied to me. You lied to us! You lied the whole time, and now you've screwed us!"

Amity sighed, pulling at Todd's arm. "Hey, calm down."

"No! No! Silence! No, you shut up! Don't you say a word, I don't want to hear it! Wait- Holy shit, this is when it happened. That means-" Todd said, looking up at the elevator to see himself looking back. Amity looked to him shocked, giving an awkward wave. Todd grabbed Amity by her wrist and ran away. "Come on!"

Todd sat in the truck thinking everything over while Amity and Dirk bid Patrick Spring goodbye at a dock bay. Patrick was throwing the armour off of him into the bay water.

"Maybe don't throw all of it away, we might need some guns actually," He wasn't listening to him and just threw it all. "So Right. Sorry. Okay."

"You were hit pretty hard back there. Are you feeling any better?" Amity asked Patrick. When he didn't respond she kind of just let her feelings out. "I can relate with you, Mr. Spring." She said, causing the guy to raise an eyebrow at her. "You made one mistake, but here's the thing, you didn't know what you were doing and what would happen. I have telekinetic powers and got mad at my parents one night. It was over the stupidest thing and next thing I know they're burning in the fire I accidentally started." Dirk looked to her, surprised. "Thing is though, it was a heat of the moment stupid mistake. However, it doesn't mean I can't correct my future actions for it. I need to learn how to control my powers and prevent mistakes like that from happening."

"And your point is?" He asked.

"My point is, you corrected your mistake by loving sacrificing yourself for your only daughter's safety back there! I saw it happen right before my eyes. I tried to save you, but your mind was already made up! Instead of spending the rest of your life trying to fix one wrong mistake you made centuries ago, you spent it loving your daughter and just wanting her happiness and safety!" Amity cried out, not meaning to. She couldn't help it though, it really struck a cord with her. "If I had parent's like that that supported me and loved me instead of trying to fix something that wasn't wrong to begin with, then maybe I wouldn't have lost control."

Patrick looked to her, finally seeing her point.

"Your daughter's alive, live...for her."

Dirk began to explain everything to Patrick to help him keep the timeline going. Dirk said something the wrong way to him, causing Patrick to hit him exactly like he said he would.

Todd finally managed to join them. "Hey. It's not over. We still have time to save your daughter."

"You're right, and you three play a part. When the machine came back, it had a note on it, with your name." Patrick said, pointing to Dirk.

"My name?"

"Yes. Your name, covered in blood."

Amity looked to the guys, shocked. "Blood?"

Patrick walked over to the machine and helmet he had, explaining everything to them. "These tubes tell the machine which date to travel to. This tube is programmed to 1886, the day I sent it forward and started this whole bloody mess. You'll need this tube to send the time machine you've got to me in the past. As far as I'm concerned, to save Lydia, all I need to do is take one more jump."

"You're not listening, that isn't even possible ." Todd protested.

Patrick however, wasn't going to listen. "The machine I used is in the socket in my lab. You use your machine to go back where you started. Wait, where's your time machine?"

The three of them groaned, realizing they forgot it. "We forgot the time machine at the zoo, at their temple thing." Dirk replied.

"How could you be so stupid?" Patrick barked.

Todd ended up getting into his face, yelling back at him. "Hey! Man! You just killed yourself! After everything you've done, you don't get to tell us how stupid we are.I'm over it! I'm over this! How do you not understand? You don't win! This is how it ended. You don't use the time machine again for anything except to go back home."How could you know that?" 'Cause it's obvious! We just watched an older version of you die in that hotel room!"

"You have no idea." Patrick told him.

"Do I understand exactly what happened? Hell no. I still think I understand what really matters. I was waiting for some big complex pay-off where you explain everything, but now I get that you're just as blind and crazy as everyone else. You're so obsessed with one mistake that you made a long time ago, that you can't see all the people you've hurt along the way. You can't fix everything. Some choices you just have to accept, and try and rebuild as best you can. So accept it."

Patrick looked to both Amity and Todd, realizing how true they were with their words. "I'm sorry. You both are right. All my inventions, all this death, it's all for nothing. Lydia is the only thing I have left in this world, and my foolish, selfish, short-sighted choices have left her alone. I was responsible for her, and my mistakes, they've ruined everything." Patrick handed the tube to Dirk before shaking Todd and Amity's hands. "I'm heading back to 2001. My daughter needs me."

Amity gave him a smile, which he exchanged, before bidding him farewell. He grabbed his helmet. "Certain things can't be changed. It's you. It was you all along. It will always be you. Please save her."

"We will." Both Amity and Todd said.

"Never enough enough time to figure it all out." Patrick said, walking away.

"Maybe make the maps less complicated, or murdery, or-" Dirk suggested.

"He's going to do whatever he did before." Amity told him.

"Right."

They began to walk back to the truck.

"It's actually really tragic when you think about it. He leaves us here, returns to the past, and spends 15 years preparing for this moment." Amity said, pondering it out loud. She felt really sad for the Spring family.

"By all accounts, Spring was a distant father to Lydia, and even more reclusive." Dirk replied.

Amity shrugged. "True, but he still loved her and gave his life for her. But then again, I think seeing yourself die might do that to you."

"So he never won, never woke up from this dream. He just ended up trapped and alone forever." Dirk said, causing Amity to frown at him.

"Wow, depressing much." She commented.

Dirk began to wonder aloud to her. Todd however, wasn't listening to them. "I'm trying to figure out what to do next, though. Do we try to contact ourselves? I suppose we can't, because we didn't, right? Like if we don't remember it, then it didn't happen, so it's possible, or probable, that we that we If we were to-"

Todd finally spoke up. "The master key was missing the day of the murder. The master key was missing the day of the murder. I remember now. It's because I stole my own key. And the lottery ticket that I lost, I'm the one who found it in the truck in the first place. Everything happened exactly the way that it did before." He turned to look at Dirk. "You're a monster."

The smile that was on Dirk's face suddenly vanished. "A monster? Come on, Todd, you're overreacting."

"You knew what was happening before you even met me. When Dorian died. When they tried to kill me on the bridge. When Farah was still being held in that room. When that FBI guy threatened Amanda."

Amity began to wonder if everything she said to Dirk and the reason she kissed him was because he knew it was going to happen or because she actually began to really like him. Wait, did he know she liked him? Apparently they had even known each other in Blackwing.

"You saw what I said to me, that wasn't enough to-"

"No, no, no, no, when we were almost crushed to death, and electrocuted, and burned to death, and shot, you knew that we'd end up here." Todd said with tears in his eyes.

"I didn't know that, exactly. I didn't have any context."

"Oh, and when were you gonna share that with me, huh? I just sort of thought that you left things out because you were eccentric, or crazy, or stupid. But you didn't. You deliberately hid things from me. - You lied to me!" Todd looked to Amity as well. "You both lied to me!"

Amity looked to him shocked, speechless. Dirk continued on, defending himself. " I didn't lie. I-I just didn't tell you the whole truth because I didn't understand it-"

"You're a liar, and you ruined my life, just to have a friend." Todd said, looking to the both of them. "You both deserve to be alone. Actually, no. You both deserve each other."

Dirk now had tears coming to his eyes. "I didn't lie!"

"I'd think you of all people know what a lie looks like by now." Amity ended up saying, watching as Todd to looked to her just as hurt. She had struck the cord. "Fuck, no. I didn't mean-"

"After all this is over, don't ever speak to me again...the both of you." Todd said, walking away.

"Todd!" Amity said, calling after him. "You're going about this all wrong. Dirk honestly didn't know all the details. We didn't give away much back there, only a little. The important points."

"I don't want to hear it!" He shouted, ignoring her.

"Todd!"

They made it back to the abandoned animal veterinary place by the zoo to grab the machine and go back home. However, the Men of the Machine were making their way back to the place and would find all the dead bodies plus the gang there themselves.

"Crap, they're coming!" Amity yelled, backing away from the door and towards the guys.

"We have to go, now!" Todd panicked looking to them.

"They obviously don't catch us, Todd, or they'd remember us in the future from the past, which is currently the present, so Right?" Dirk said.

"What do we do? What are you doing?"

"I'll take us back to the Wild West, we can stop all of this before it even began"

Amity sighed, frustrated. "Seriously, Dirk? No, we cant do that! It won't work. We have to face them."

Dirk however, grabbed the tube Patrick gave him and tried to not listen. It caused Amity and Todd to try to take it from him. "No, we are going back to the future to save Lydia Spring!"

"The note with my name had my blood on it, my blood! I cannot just-" Dirk said, panicking.

Because of all the struggle going on between them, the machine began to whirl and light up, sending them back to their time. They landed to the floor with a thud before standing back up.

"When are we?" Todd asked, glaring at Dirk and Amity.

"Back where we came from." Dirk said.

"Oh shit." Both Todd and Amity said.

They turned around as the guys finally got into the room, aiming their bow at them. Amity was not prepared for this at all and after running out of stamina wasn't sure if her powers would work to save them.

This was it. They were done for.
