"You can do that?" for one of the few times since they met, Pooh Bear sounded impressed and surprised at the same time.
"You didn't think I was a one trick pony did you?" Stretch glanced at his friend.
"Sort of," Pooh Bear answered.
"I needed somewhere to store my downloads."
Pooh Bear laughed, "Great job using the Mossad to get onto Torrent movies!"
"Pirate Bay," Stretch corrected him. He paused Space Invaders and opened up another screen over it. Pooh sat down on the hospital bed and watched his friend type at his computer, "I believe that was part of my treason charge, disobeying orders and misappropriation of Mossad broadband."
"Can they hack your computer while you hack into theirs?" Pooh Bear asked.
"Yes," he replied, "But they have to get through over a million layers of code and an entire false computer system to get in, and I'm sure that I'm smarter than their technicians."
"If you say so."
"Once I get into their system, we have three minutes to get what we need before they locate us," Stretch continued, "And I am certain that there are officers stationed in Cuba, and it will be approximately seven minutes until they get here."
"Ten minutes until we're caught."
Stretch nodded, "Let's go," he started the hack.
His computer screen became a window factory as he typed. He narrowed his icy grey eyes at the screen as a warning flashed in red in front of him, "You're being hacked," Pooh Bear warned.
"I know," Stretch replied. He only typed faster, lines of code flashed across the screen, seemingly representing the lines of code that Stretch was bypassing to hack the system.
Pooh Bear checked his watch, "Eight minutes."
"Thanks," he didn't even look up from the screen, "I nearly have him," He smiled a little as he glared at the screen at the scrolling code.
"I get it," Pooh Bear said, "Once you have access to his computer, you can control it to access the greater system."
Pooh Bear continued to watch Stretch type and it was tense. Every three seconds, he looked at his watch, checking the time. Three minutes became four minutes, and another three warnings popped up on the screen that Stretch completely ignored. He already knew what they said. The computer that had been hacking them was getting closer to shutting them down.
The window factory closed, and the screen was completely blank for a second. An errant thought in Pooh Bear's head told him that it was over. Another window came up on his screen. It was a menu written entirely in Hebrew. He must have gained access to the main system, a feat remarkable in itself. He opened up another screen titled Drive C. Clearly, he had got into the computer. He searched through the files on the screen and deleted an entire folder.
"Bye, bye security systems," he said with a small smile, "And now to the important things." Stretch searched through the other menus and opened up two identical menu screens side by side and searched both simultaneously. At first, Stretch went through current operations files, and downloaded several files onto his USB disk.
Pooh checked his watch, "Five minutes."
He found an option that seemed to please him because he clicked it, and searched through the file, and was asked for a password. After a few more lines of code, he sat back in his chair a little, "I'm in."
"Good," Pooh Bear said, "Can you pull up security cameras?"
"Of course," Stretch said, slightly pleased with himself. A few moments later his screen became a window factory again, and he began to search though them searching for any sight of Jack, a Warbler or any glints of his silver arm. Pooh kept a close watch on them too.
"Wait," Pooh Bear said, "Go back one," Stretch did as he was told, and Pooh looked at the screen, no sign of Jack, "Go back another."
Again, Stretch did as he was told.
The screen was filled with gunfire, and the glint of silver that he had spotted was Jack's arm, with a woman. She was the same woman from the tape from Zurich, the Trickster. She was armed with a hunting knife. Jack was a few feet in front of her, taking cover at a corner in the hallway.
"Huntsman is definitely in trouble," Pooh Bear said softly.
"When is Jack not in trouble?" Stretch asked, and then he noticed the Trickster, "Please, anyone but her," He said under his breath.
The Trickster grabbed Jack's arm and he looked past her.
"What are they looking at?"Pooh Bear asked.
Silently, Stretch began typing away again. The camera slowly moved left across the room, and after a moment, they saw what Jack and the Trickster had seen. Three heavily armed Israeli commandos began to approach them in an ambush. Bullets began to fly. Stretch began to type again as quickly as he could force himself to go.
"Do something!"
"I am dammit!" Stretch shouted, "Let me think!"
"Do it fast, or they'll be shot," Pooh Bear bit back at him.
"Shot," he muttered, and he had an idea "They can't shoot at something that they can't see," he coded a few more lines before ripping the USB disk from his computer and slipping it in his pocket, "Grab my bag, will you?"
Pooh Bear grabbed the duffel bag from the other side of the bed as he got up and he pulled it onto his back as Stretch pushed the desk away. Stretch wheeled his way to the door.
"I hope you have a plan," Pooh Bear growled.
"We walk straight out the front door," Stretch narrowed his eyes.
