I don't own anything.
Shiro grunted as he was knocked back. "What the hell?"
Shiro looked at the door in shock. This had never happened before.
Shiro had never encountered problem entering the mind of anyone, especially not one he had entered so often. This wasn't normal. Something was deliberately keeping him out. Could it be that she had begun to notice his presence in her mind? Had she gone to the famous Yamanaka clan for their help? No. There was no way for her to have found him out. He had been nothing but an observer in her head, and he had never seen this before.
"How is she blocking me out?" He muttered.
"She's not blocking you. I am."
Shiro spun, trying to locate the source of the voice. The voice was definitely female, but not that of the current owner which only agitated his confusion. Moreover, the mind itself was supposed to be the only physical form here. Voices only stemmed in the minds of schizophrenics and stored memories. But this voice had substance. Shiro was shocked to see a familiar face.
"It can't be," Shiro gasped. "It's impossible."
"Been a while Shiro," she spoke. Her enchanting voice had not changed. The same, strikingly beautiful features that her daughter had inherited evident in her long dark hair. The air around her was unmistakably one of a noble family of the capital. It was her.
"Lady Hyuuga Wakana," Shiro rose to his full height.
Wakana shook her head, her famous smile plastered on her face. "Now, Shiro, there's no need to be so formal with me."
"I think I'd be happier to see you if you weren't supposed to be dead," he frowned.
"Who said I'm not?" she grinned. "Trust me, the Hyuuga Wakana you knew is long dead. I am but a fragment of her will."
"A fragment?"
Wakana smiled sadly, "Yes, only a fragment."
The ghost of a woman began walking around. Shiro mimicked her actions looking for an opening to sneak past her. She continued speaking, "I have remained dormant here for many years, but now, I see that my presence is necessary."
"For what purpose?" Shiro inquired.
Wakana turned her glare onto him. "To stop you, to keep my promise, and to show my daughter what she's truly capable of. I may have never gotten the chance to hone Hinata's abilities, but I will see her realize her full potential."
"Why do you want to keep me out?" Shiro blinked.
"I've seen you sneaking around here for years, now!" Wakana shouted, "I want you out of Hinata's head! You've selfishly abused your power to degrade her feelings for the sake of your ego long enough! You took her weak point and twisted it to trick her into signing her life away."
Shiro felt offended, "You think that one-sided love of hers was going to pan out? He didn't give a damn about her. I love her, and she'll come to love me in time."
"As if I'll let something like that happen," she retorted, "you don't have what it takes to bring out the best in my daughter. And no amount of money, success, family power, and whatever else you have is going to change that. It's out of your range."
Shiro could feel the rage simmering under his skin. How dare she say this to him! She had no clue what he felt towards the Hyuuga heiress. He would have replied but her felt a force pushing him out.
Wakana's eyes began to glow and she addressed him for the last time, "Time for you to leave."
And thus, he was blown out of his trance and back to the physical world. And no matter what he did, he was unable to even view the doorway to Hinata's mind. It had been less that eight hours and he already felt as though he was losing his mind. He wondered about how she was doing, what her mother had meant by her abilities, what she was thinking of, why her mother was waiting for.
He needed answers, and he needed them now. Even now he could feel the irritation rising. She would be leaving her village in a few days time, but he honestly didn't think he could hold out that long.
I've waited so long to finally have her. It will take more than a ghost to ruin my plans. Hyuuga Hinata will be mine.
While he was brooding, a servant entered. "Young Master, your carriage is ready."
"Good," he rose to his feet, "I think it's about time I go pick up my bride."
Oh no! Shiro is on his way to the village! What mischief will he manage there? How will Naruto and Hinata straighten things out between themselves? How will Hinata take Shiro's arrival? What are the abilities Wakana mentioned? All will be revealed in the next chapter! Which MOST likely will not be out anywhere near as soon as this one was. Till next time my lovelies!
