Chapter 11
Magnus Pov
Time skip to Wednesday
It's been an entire week since the incident at the mall, and Clary is still shaken up about it. I tried to comfort her and tell her that everything was going to be okay, but she still kept on crying.
She was able to convince her parents to let her stay home for a couple of days. I visited her everyday after school. Tuesday night, her parents told her that she had to go to school the next day. She tried arguing with them saying that she still wasn't feeling good, but they had put their foot down and told her that school is important.
I told her the night before that I would pick her up to go to school today. So here I am sitting in my car, waiting for her to come out of the house.
Ten minutes later, Clary walked out of the house and slowly made her way to my car. When she got her self-situated into the passenger seat, I pulled out of the driveway and headed off towards school.
The car was filled with an extremely awkward silence. I was about to ask her how she was feeling, but she beat me to it.
"Turn around. I want to go home." She demanded. I shook my head at her and earned a glare in return.
"No Clary. You're going to school today and that's final." She scoffed and crossed her arms over he chest.
"What did you say when someone asked where I was?" She asked. I let out a long sigh.
"I said you were out sick with the flu." I stated. She just nodded. I looked over at her from the corner of my eyes.
"Did you tell Matt the real reason why you weren't in school?" I asked. She massaged her temples and shook her head.
"No. I didn't answer any of his texts. He probably thinks I'm dead." I couldn't help but chuckle. She turned to glare at me.
"This is not funny Magnus. I'm pretty sure he thinks that I want to break up with him." She said while running a hand through her hair.
"You wouldn't have this problem if you would just I don't know, tell him about Sebastian." I exclaimed. She shook her head in disagreement.
"I can't tell him about Sebastian, or that night. He would dump me right there. I really like him Magnus." I looked over her with sympathy in my eyes.
"If he really liked you, then he wouldn't dump you because of that night. He would be there for you." I said soothingly.
She was about to say something else but we were already in the school parking lot. I parked the car and grabbed her hand before she exited the car.
"Clary just promise me you'll think about it?" I pleaded. She let out a sigh and gave me a slight nod. I squeezed her hand lightly and the two of us got out of the car.

Clary POV
Magnus and I walked into school together. We spotted Alec, Isabelle, Simon and Jace standing next to a group of lockers, casually conversing with each other.
The two of us walked over to the others and waved a hello. Isabelle walked up to me and wrapped her arms around me giving me a hug. She pulled back and placed her arms on my shoulders.
"Hey Clary. Magnus told us that you weren't feeling well. Are you okay now?" She asked. I felt so terrible lying to her.
"Yeah, I'm feeling a little better." I gave her a small smile, which she returned.
" Well if you need anything today, just text me and I'll be there in a heart beat." She said as she gave my shoulders a squeeze. I nodded and said thank you.
Magnus, and Alec were having their own conversation, while Simon and Isabelle were talking about some English project. I just stood there awkwardly staring down at the ground when I heard someone clear a throat behind me. Everyone's conversation stopped and looked to look at the new comer. By the expression on Magnus's face, I could already tell who it was. I took a deep breath and turned around to be face to face with Matt. He gave me a small wave, which I returned.
"Hey Clary, I was wondering if we could talk. Alone." He said. I looked over at the rest of the group. Alec, Isabelle, and Magnus nodded and encouraged me to go, but Jace on the other hand, was glaring daggers at Matt. I'll have to ask Magnus and Isabelle about that later.
I nodded and waved goodbye to my friends. They all said their goodbyes, and Matt and I started to walk in the direction of my first class.
As we were walking he pulled me off the side and looked me straight in my eyes.
"Are you mad at me or something? I mean, you and Magnus left the mall pretty quickly on Saturday, and then you didn't answer any of my texts. Did I do something to upset you?" He asked. I shook my head and pushed a stray curl out of my face to look him in the eyes.
"No I'm not mad at you." At that he let out a sigh of relief and his shoulders started to relax. "I haven't been feeling good. I totally understand why you would want to break up with me. I'm a horrible girl-." His lips met mine as he cut me off. He pulled away and placed a hand under my chin.
"You're not a horrible girlfriend. I understand that you weren't feeling to good. Everyone has those kinds of days. I would have just really appreciated it if you would've texted me or something." He said as he stroked by cheek with his thumb. I smiled at little and kissed him.
"Thanks for understanding." I whispered. He smiled and placed a kiss on my nose. He intertwined our fingers together, and he walked me over to my first class of the day.

Jace Pov
"Hey you want to come over to my house tonight?" Jon asked. I shrugged my shoulders and sunk back into my chair.
"Sure." I grunted out. I could tell that he was giving me a weird look. So I turned to look at him.
"What?" I questioned. He just shook his head and picked at his burger.
"Are you okay man? You've kind of been on the edge the entire day." He said. I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah I'm fine. I'm just tired." I lied. The truth is, I've seen Clary and Matt holding hands around school all freaking day and it really does irritate the hell out of me.
I've expressed my feelings about him to Magnus so many times, but he keeps on saying that I'm just jealous.
In fact, there was that whole situation where Magnus and Clary left the mall early claiming that Clary wasn't feeling good. I could tell that Magnus was lying from the way that his eyes kept on roaming around and not looking at any of us.
I'm pretty sure that douche bag, said something to Clary, that made her upset, and she didn't want any of us knowing.
Speaking of the devil, Matt walks over to our table and sits down a couple of chairs down from me.
"Hey guys. What are you fellas up to?" He asked. Everyone shrugged and grunted out an unintelligible response.
"I thought you sit with my sister during lunch time?" Jon asked.
"She had to go into biology and makeup the lab that she missed when she was sick." He stated. John nodded and stood up from the table to leave. I stood up with him, and the two of us threw away our rubbish and headed back into school.
The two of us walked over to his locker, where John was grabbing his books and supplies that he needed for the last few classes. I stood next to him leaning against a nearby locker.
"What do you think of Matt?" I blurted out before I could stop myself. Jon frowned and the question.
What do you mean what do I think of him? What do I think of him as a football player, or what do I think of him as a person?" He asked.
"The second one." John furrowed his brows and closed his locker.
"I guess he's okay. I mean, I don't like the fact that he and my sister have a thing, but I don't really have a say in that. Wait, why are you asking me this question?" I shrugged my shoulders. I might as well be honest with Jon. I mean, he is by best friend and Clary's brother.
"I don't know. He just gives me this weird vibe." I stated. Jon rolled his eyes and leaned against his locker and started at me. I raised an eyebrow at him.
"You see something you like Jon?" I said playfully. Jon made a face and looked back at me. I could see that something in his eyes click and he snapped his fingers.
"You have a thing for my sister don't you?" What the hell? Am I really that easy to read?
"I have no idea what you're talking about." Jon smiles.
"Aww man this is a first. I don't think I ever seen you jealous dude. I mean you're Jace." I rolled my eyes at him.
"Man how long have you had a thing for her?" He asked. I started to walk away, but Jon caught up to me.
"Come on Jace you can tell me." I sighed and turned to face him.
"I liked her for a while now okay." I admitted.
"That actually explains a lot." He stated out I shoved him away, and continued to off to my next class.
"I won't say anything if you don't want me to. Hell I'll even help you." At this I stopped him my tracks and looked back at Jon.
"I thought that I was a "man whore"?" I asked. Jon shrugged.
"I mean you are, but I have seen the way you look at her. You've got it bad don't you?" I nodded.
"She's all I think about." I said quietly. Jon placed his hands on my shoulders and shook me slightly.
"Then tell her how you feel." Jon said.
"I mean I totally would, if it wasn't for the fact that she has a boyfriend." I exclaimed. Jon gave me a small smile.
"Well we're just going to have to change that aren't we?" Jon said smugly. What the hell have I just gotten myself into?

I jumped into Magnus car after cheer practice and he took me home. We pulled into my driveway, and the two of us just sat for a while in complete silence.
"So I noticed that you and lover boy made up." Magnus said. A small smile lit my face.
"Yeah we did." I said. Magnus raised an eyebrow.
"Did you tell him about that night?" Magnus questioned. I shook my head.
"No. I just told him that I'm not feeling well." I stated. Magnus shook his head and turned to face me.
"Biscuit. You're not doing your relationship a favor by keeping that night a secret." He scolded. I closed my eyes and squeezed them tight.
"I know." I exhaled.
"Clary, I'm only trying to help you. You know that right?" Magnus asked. I nodded my head.
"Well you better start heading inside before your parents think you were kidnapped. He joked. I was about to get out of the car, when I remembered I had to ask Magnus something.
"Magnus, does Jace not like Matt or something? This morning he kept on glaring at him." I noticed Magnus stiffen a little.
"Not that I know of." He stammered out. He's definitely lying to me. It is way to late to be doing this so I just sigh and get out of the car.
I walked into my house and was welcomed by my mother's voice.
"Clary darling is that you?" She called out.
"Yeah mom. Sorry I'm late. Practice ended later than I thought." I said as I dropped my bags in the living room. I walked into the dining room and noticed that my mom, dad, and Jon were all sitting down at the table waiting for me.
"Don't worry about it sweetie. We've only been waiting for five minutes." My mom said. I gave her a small smile, and sat down in my usual seat next to my dad. He gave me a smile and ruffled my hair.
"Hey Princess how was your day?" He asked. I shrugged and placed a piece of fish on my plate.
"Ehhh. School was its usual. Boring and long." My dad chuckled and continued to eat his dinner. I noticed that Jon was looking at me funny. I kicked him in his shin and gave him a what the fuck are you doing look. He just ignored me and ate his food as if nothing happened.
We continued with light conversation, and then my parents excused us from the dinner table. As Jon was walking up the stairs, I grabbed onto his arm and made him face me.
"What the hell is you problem Jon?" I hissed. A small smirk formed on his face. What is he smirking about?
"You know, I could slap off that smirk." I stated. The next thing that came out of his mouth was something that I wasn't expecting at all.
"What do you think of Jace?" Where is this coming from?
"Well I'm pretty sure he doesn't swing that way-." Jon frowned.
"No you dummy. I was just wondering how you felt about him. I know the two of you got off on the wrong foot with the Kaelie thing." I furrowed my eyebrows.
"We're okay I guess." I said slowly. Jon just nodded and went into his room. I swear that boy gives me a headache.
I walk into my own room and flop myself down on my bed. I decided that I would call Matt. We haven't had the chance to talk since English.
I clicked on his contact and put the phone to my ear. It rang a couple of times before you picked up.
"Hey Clary." He said. I smiled at the sound of his voice.
"Hey. I just wanted to talk to you since we didn't get to spend lunch with each other." I said as I looked up at the ceiling.
"Well, I'm kind of busy right now, but I promise that we'll talk some more tomorrow okay?" I frowned. I could hear a voice in the background, but I wasn't able to make out what the voice was saying.
"It's like 9:00 at night. What are you doing right now?" I questioned.
"It's none of you business Clary. I'm entitled to my space you know." With that he hung up the phone. What on earth just happened? I sighed and walked over to my bathroom to take a long warm shower.
