"Ha ha! There was no Chrysalis chapter! April Fools!"
WAY too late for that, TD. But anyways, the reason I didn't do her is because a friend of mine reminded me of one whom I had wanted to try for a while... Tempest, or Fizzlepop Berrytwist if you prefer. I hope I did good, because, frankly, I could be doing better in some regards.
Please enjoy!
A tall pony figure, taller than Princess Twilight and almost matching Cadence's size as well, stared out at the night sky, lost in thoughts. She was a unicorn, but one detail stood out on her that other unicorn's didn't have. On her head, where her horn should be, was instead a broken base. For the unicorn's name was Tempest, or Fizzlepop Berrytwist, a former enemy of Equestria. About two years ago, she had arrived in Equestria with an evil yeti-like creature who went by the name Storm King. Together, with his evil minions, she had helped him attack the pony race and take over Equestria, stealing the magic of all four alicorn princesses and harboring it for her master. He had promised to restore her horn, but it had all been a lie. She was betrayed, and at the last second had decided to side with the Equestrians and helped them reclaim their home. Tempest had even gone as far as sacrificing herself to save Princess Twilight and her friends, earning their trust and their friendship afterwards. The realm had been fixed and peace returned to the world once more...
Tempest sighed and leaned against the railing of the Canterlot square she was standing in and looked out towards the city of Ponyville below, unaware at the moment that nearby another entity was lost in his own thoughts. A pair of intimidating draconic eyes shown from the shadows of the night, peering in her direction from a nearby rooftop. For most, those eyes only showed hatred, malice, and evil in general. However, for a selected few, Tempest included, they could see the other emotions those eyes would give off, showing up as only a hint that most could not see themselves. Just now, those eyes were smiling, admiring the form of the unicorn in front of them. A look of surprise lit up the pair of dragon eyes and with a loud yelp they fell to the streets below, catching the attention of the battle-hardened pony. Twirling around, Tempest glared in the direction the yelp had come from, her horn sparking a little as she readied her magic in case of a fight.
"Who's there?!" she demanded.
"Take a wild guess," a male's voice groaned from the shadows, as the dragon eyes reappeared. They were attached to the form of another unicorn figure, as seen by the horn on his head. He was roughly about Tempest's size, but without the same build she sported. From what little light the glowing eyes of the figure gave off coupled with the moonlight, Tempest could see that he was a blood-red color with a darker shade of red for his mane and tail. Seeing this, she lowered her guard and gave him a curious expression.
"TD?" she asked, hoping her guess was right.
"In the flesh," the unicorn replied, standing up with a shake of his head. He trotted over to her, letting the moonlight reveal his features fully. He gave her a smile, then winced a little as he remembered his headache.
"Are you okay?" Tempest asked him, coming close to him to examine his head. "You took quite the fall, not to mention you landed on your head."
"Hence the reason I'm in this form," he explained. "Otherwise, I'd be dead now."
Tempest still bothered to feel concerned about him and spent a few moments examining him. TD couldn't help but chuckle at her concern, considering that a year ago she could've cared less.
When TD had entered Equestria, he had not counted on Tempest being present at the party. While her powers were indeed inferior to his own, they were strong enough to become quite a nusiance to him. She managed to hold her own for a full minute against him before he finally was able to cast her aside and deal with the others. But by then, they had managed to conjure enough magic up to subdue him completely and locked him up in a magical prison. He had managed to escape the very next day, but he had not gone for the Elements immeadiately. Instead, he had gone for Tempest in hopes of exacting his revenge on her or perhaps turning her to his side. His efforts proved futile and without any other alternative, he made a truce with the Equestrians. During the duration of the truce, TD had found Tempest to be a rather reluctant friend. She was still wary of him and didn't immeaditely trust that he was truly reforming. However, after he saved her life from Sombra's Ursa army, she held a newfound respect towards him and became a close friend of his. When TD's dark side returned, Tempest had attempted to take him on alone long before the Elements had arrived, first trying to reason with him, then fighting against him when that proved useless. The odds were heavily weighed against her, but she managed to keep him occupied until Twilight and her friends arrived. By then, she had lost all her combat strength, giving TD an opportunity to strike...
A strike that never came. His mind had been too conflicted and he couldn't bring himself to kill her. As a result, he surrendered willingly, and after a day of detention he was allowed a second chance at redemption. It was during this time that he started to realize why he had hesitated to kill Tempest, and it made perfect sense. Not to mention, made him feel a little more awkward around her...
His mind was brought back to the present by Tempest's voice speaking to him.
"You alright?" she asked. "You seemed to be spaced out for a moment there."
TD gave her a smile. "Just a minor flashback. I'm good."
Tempest smiled back, then said, "You know, you don't have to stay in that form while you're around me."
"I know that," TD answered honestly. "I just use it out of a force of habit."
"Well, I just like it better when I can see the real you," Tempest explained. TD smiled again and in a burst of flames, he switched into his human form, now standing about twice her height in size. Actually, he tended to feel that she was about three-quarters of his size, as she was a bit taller than any of the Elements. Tempest looked him over a bit and smirked.
"You never fail to astonish me by appearance alone," she stated.
"Well, a human in Equestria tends to draw a crowd," TD joked. He then asked, "I've been wanting to speak to you about it... but how do you feel things are between us, Tempest?"
"You know that's not my real name, right?" she stated.
"I know that," he answered. "It's justt easier to remember."
Tempest nodded in understanding, then sighed before she answered his question.
"I'm not sure. I guess... You've proven to be a good friend, even if you're rather odd," she explained. "But... you've started to become a little... more than a friend." She blushed a little when she said that.
"Oh?" TD remarked, feeling like he knew what she was getting at but wanting more confirmation.
"Yeah," she continued. "I... I don't know how to explain it, but whenever you leave it gets... lonely without you." She gave him a sincere look. "You... manage to lighten up my days whenever I'm feeling down... and I just can't stop thinking about you." She paused for a moment before continuing. She usually wasn't this open with anypony, but TD was definitely an exception. "I miss having you around all the time, and whenever you do come around... I feel... well, complete. I guess what I'm saying is..."
TD suddenly knelt down so he was more at her level and shushed her with one of his fingers on her muzzle, giving her a knowing smile.
"I know what you mean," he said gently. "And frankly... I've known since the moment you started examining my head. The physical contact gave me the information I needed." He chuckled lightly. "And thankfully, I share the same emotional feelings for you, but I'll say it anyways." He slowly pulled her closer to him with one of his arms and gave her a playful boop on the nose, earning another blush-filled smile to her face. "I love you, Fizzlepop Berrytwist."
If Tempest had been blushing before, she was now a bright red color in the face. She looked up at him, then smiled and wrapped her front hooves around him, leaning into his form as she did. Their faces were inches away and they soon closed the distance with a kiss. Their eyes closed and they both sighed in bliss while they kissed. After a few seconds, they pulled away to look into each other's eyes.
"So... how do you feel?" TD asked teasingly.
"Better," Tempest managed eventually. "I love you too, TD."
"William," he corrected gently. "My real name is William. Thought you should know."
Tempest smiled again. "William... It's a nice name. So, is there anything else you'd like to tell me."
"Yeah... No way in all of Tartarus am I having Shing Armor sit next to us at the next wedding that comes around," TD remarked, causing Tempest to giggle a bit. She then looked out at the night sky.
"It's still an early night out," she noted. "Mind taking a walk with me?"
TD smiled as he returned to his pony form and took her hoof in his own.
"It would be my pleasure, Fizzlepop," he said. The two shared another smile, then slowly walked together through the streets of Canterlot as Luna's night shone brightly above them...
The Palantir glowed slightly as the vision ended and TD looked away from it, a thoughtful look in his eyes.
"That makes me curious now," he said aloud to himself. "Where is Tempest? I haven't seen her since Rainbow Dash's wedding. We have a lot to catch up on." He grinned. "And she still owes me that one favor..."
"Dad?" a voice called from the door, causing him to turn to the voice. The door opened to reveal his son, Zachary, flying a few feet above the ground so he was at eye level with the human. Although he was still essentially a child, about ten years old, the pegasus's eyes held a sense of maturity in them.
"Dad, Uncle Chuck is calling on you," Zach told him. TD smiled.
"Thank you Zach. I'll be there shortly," he answered. The pegasus nodded and left the room, TD hesitating for only a moment longer before he too left the room. Meanwhile, in a soda shop up in Canterlot, Tempest sat behind a counter as a couple of younger ponies entered the shop. She smiled and greeted them warmly.
"Welcome to The Fizzlepop Fountian. How may I serve you today?"
Next up (no jokes this time), we bring up the biggest failure in the history of Equestria when it comes to magic... I don't think I even need to say her name for you to guess. XD
Until next time!
