CeCe nervously tapped her foot against the leg of her chair. She was sitting in English class, not really paying attention. Prince Gunther had told her a lot and it was a lot of things that made sense. It all seemed to fit into her story. She wiggled her pencil around aimlessly on the paper, not caring what she wrote. How was one supposed to concentrate on homework when one was having a life crisis? What if she, Rocky, and Tinka couldn't find a way to fix things? What if Prince Gunther was stuck here and the Gunther Hessenheffer she knew and loathes, okay so she might like, maybe love him, too, was stuck in the past forever? Would that mess all of history up? No, this couldn't be that important to the whole world and all of time. What did it mean for her though? She supposed that they would just get used to having this Gunther instead of the other one. She wondered if people would still act the same around him. Prince Gunther and the Gunther she had always known were so much alike and yet so unbelievably different at the same time.
CeCe jumped as Rocky put her hand on her shoulder. "What?!" she shouted.
Rocky stared at her with a bemused expression. "CeCe, class is over."
"Oh," CeCe pushed her chair back and stood up. "I didn't notice."
"Clearly," Rocky giggled, then noticed CeCe's dark expression and sobered up. "So, what were you thinking about? From your expression, I don't think it was the latest fashion magazine."
"Gunther, what else do you think?" CeCe sighed heavily. "I don't know what to do about any of this. It's not fair."
"Oh, CeCe, life's not fair, but I'm sure we'll figure it out, we have to," Rocky put her arm around CeCe's shoulders. "Just think of everything that we've been through together. Haven't we always found a way to make things work?"
"Yeah, but Rocky, that was stuff like learning new dance routines and talent shows and bad reviews and annoying frenemies and just nothing like conditional time travel," Cece frowned at her.
"Conditional time travel," Rocky looked up at the ceiling, rolling the words around. "That's a good way to put it."
CeCe was about to argue with her about finding this an interesting experiment, but someone's hands grabbed her shoulders from behind. She looked up and found Gunther standing behind her. "What?" she asked him instinctively.
"I have a surprise for you, CeCe, come and see?" Gunther asked her.
CeCe wondered vaguely what it was, but nodded. "Sure, Gunther, I'll come and see your surprise."
Gunther looked pleased with himself and strolled off down the hall.
CeCe signaled to Rocky that they'd continue this conversation later and followed him.
A/N: This is kind of like a filler chapter, just so you know what CeCe is thinking after the story and to get the story back to modern times. This month and next month are going to be really busy for me, but I'm going to try to update when I can. I'm also going to be living away from home for a little while, so we'll see what that does to my writing schedule. Thank you for all of your support so far! :)
