I DO NOT OWN REMEMBER ME!
Epilogue: 10th anniversary
(Tyler's POV)
The mild September wind whipped at my back as I walked up the street with my family. Ally walked beside me with our year old daughter, Charlotte "Charlie" Diane in her arms. Our eight year old son, Michael Neil, and his twin sister, Helen Caroline, trotted side by side in between us while the now soon to-be 10 year old Faith held my hand.
Today was the 10th anniversary of the day I almost died and thousands of others died. The day I almost lost Ally and couldn't have had the beautiful family I have now.
I looked at Faith, she still had Ally's blonde curls and my eyes. She is still considered the spitting image of me to this day. Though she is like Michael in some ways, she loves guitar and music. She is still my little girl, even though I have three, she'll always be my 1st daughter and baby girl. Faith has grown up so much, I am not looking forward to her up coming teenage years but I know I'll try and pull it through. Ally loves to tease me for being such a mush.
You see after I proposed to Ally we got married right away, we didn't want to waste any time. We were married that Spring in Central Park, Aidan was my best man and Caroline was Ally's maid of honor.
Two years later Ally got pregnant again, with twins. That's when we decided to move out to Queens while Aidan got the apartment. A month after we left Aidan on his own, he got engaged to a girl he was dating for a few months. Her name is Monica, the Eskimo from the library he banged all those years ago.
Aidan did marry Monica and now they have two sons. Ricky, who is eight years old, and Zachary who is five years old. Both can be very like their father when they want to be. They now live next door to us in Queen and my sister ended up buying the apartment from him when she moved out of the house.
We then had our twins, Mike and Helen. For this pregnancy I was with Ally through the whole thing. From the cravings to the mood swings, I was sort of glad I got to experience it. I guess the best was seeing my kids being born and getting to hold them for the 1st time, something I never got to experience with Faith.
My son Mike in personality wise is very sneaky and goofy. He has been under the influence of Aidan a bit too much, he's very into pranks and mischief. When Aidan is around him, forget about it, we're all doomed to their devious pranks. He is also very into baseball and loves it when my dad or Neil take him to games. Helen on the other hand is artistic, like Caroline. She loves drawing and painting. Helen is also the world's biggest sweetheart and wouldn't hurt a fly. Both twins have my light brown hair but Ally's bright big blue eyes.
Speaking of my dear sister, Caroline is now 21 years old herself. She is going to college in N.Y.U and works part-time at the Met. She has been dating a fellow artist, Jake, for the past year. Something tells me he's the one for her. Caroline is also still friends with the girl, Addison, she met in school. It was nice that Caroline found a friend and now the two are roommates. Jake, Caroline, Addison, and Addison's boyfriend Alex, are all inseparable.
Anyway just this year our daughter Charlie was born. She has Ally's blonde hair and her bright blue eyes. I could tell her personality was like a combination of mine and Ally's. She could be stubborn yet a complete sweetheart at times.
Also I am a writer now. I published my very 1st book, Dear Michael, not too long after I married Ally. I decided to publish my diary of Michael, it became very popular so I decided to write a few more books. I now have a new idea with Caroline to write children stories with her. She'll draw the pictures while I write. I have four kids so it shouldn't be too hard to find inspiration. Ally is still a social worker and a very good one might I add. Aidan is now a gym teacher, it makes sense since he's good with kids and a big one himself.
My dad has now retired and so has my mom. My mom still lives in the house with Les while my dad now found a girlfriend, Lydia. I have a feeling they might get married but we'll see. Ally's dad is still living in Queens and is now a retired cop. We visit him ever Saturday and the kids adore him as well as my parents. I think Ally's dad enjoys the company since his wife is gone and I don't think he really wants to date anyone again after Helen's tragic death.
"Are we almost there yet Daddy?" Helen asked me.
"Almost there" I tell her as we approach the memorial where the two big reflection pools were built. I go to search for the name I knew all too well, Janine. I never mentioned this but my father's secretary never made it out that day nor did so many of his other co-workers.
9-11 was a devastating event that affected our country. I was so lucky to even make it out that day. My kids have asked about that day many times, wondering what it was like to watch the sun set up in the towers. My kids love the top of the Empire State Building and love seeing the sun set behind the New York City skyline. I could tell they have always wanted to see the sun set from what used to be the highest point in all the city.
I always tell my kids how that day I had a voice in the back of my head telling to run. Faith claims it was Michael telling me to run for it. She says he's my guardian angel, and I think she's right.
Helen then goes to place a rose on the wall and we all step back to look at where my dad's office used to be. Ally laid her head on my shoulder with Charlie gurgling in her arms. I picked up Helen while Faith leaned into my side and I wrapped my free arm around her while Mike leaned into Ally's free side. We all just stood there what felt like forever.
"Imagine, I could have lost you that day" Ally shivered and I went to kiss the top of her head.
"You didn't, I'm still here Ally. I always will be" I whisper to her. She smiles and the goes to turn to the kids.
"Come on, lunch at the dinner" She grinned and they all cheered. They loved that place more than anything in the world.
"Let's go!" Helen exclaimed jumping out of my arms to join her brother. Ally went to take my free hand that didn't have Faith while Mike and Helen were in front of us.
"I love you" Ally whispered.
"I love you too, forever" she smiled as we walked to the diner. Ally was always going to be mine, and I was always going to be hers..forever.
THE END!
Yeah I know, very short story didn't think it would last very long. This was all just a short little story about if Tyler lived hoped you enjoyed it! :)
