Early one morning I was so bored that I was just walking around the floor of Farthen Dur. I was the only one around when a lone dwarf raced out of a hole. It was a good thing that I understood the dwarves' tongue, because he told me about a pending attack by Father using the Urgals. I raced all the way to Uncle's room, woke him up and told him exactly what the dwarf told he understood the amount of danger that we were in, he told me to warn Eragon and Arya. I told Arya first, then I raced up the stairs to the dragonhold. Usually my siblings would be there by this time to keep me sane, but they weren't so I was extremely nervous. I burst into the room, Saphira was awake instantly but I had to wake Eragon mentally since she wouldn't allow me near him. He was startled to see me standing at the doors panting (which, by the way, I don't do very often) as I broke the news.

He surprised me by getting ready in a couple seconds. I raced down and got a drink by the time they arrived. They told everyone what was going on, and then we were told what our jobs were. I was in charge of making sure that Murtaugh behaved during the battle. I went to his cell with some armor, "Hey Murtaugh. Uncle says that since we're about to be attacked, we're going to let you prove yourself. This way if you betray us it will matter less."

Much later Murtaugh, Eragon, and I were waiting when many Urgals showed up and flooded out of the tunnels. After they passed our defenses I felt a presence that chilled me to my bones. It was Father disguised as a Urgal, who headed straight for me when he came out of the ground. I shot toward him and pulled Yang out of its sheath. Everyone around me saw it and realized what it meant about me. I shoved Father off-balance, and while he was stumbling, I cut him down the back of his left leg, like he had done to me many years ago. He collapsed to the ground, and got carried off my a group of Urgals. Once he was gone I spent the next three hours being a whirlwind of blades, cutting down any Urgal that got in front of I was nearing exhaustion, I felt an evil presence fly past me. It was then that I realized that I couldn't see Eragon and Arya anywhere. I raced to the gates of Tronjehem, opened them and found Eragon bleeding badly amongst broken shards of the Star Sapphire. I winced, because I knew how the dwarves would react. The shade was dead, but at what cost?Arya left as I healed his other wounds and then started healing his back but to no avail. The injury was severe, and the battle still raged on. I and my magic was needed, so I summoned Angela, as headed back into battle.

So much changed in such a short amount of time. Not only can't Eragon do anything strenuous, but Murtaugh got captured by my father and the drajil Twins. But I couldn't tell anyone without any proof, especially if they think that the twins died as well. But the worst part is that Uncle is no longer with us, because he was slain by my father. Soon, however, I will find out why my siblings didn't come to the Varden, when I escort Eragon and Arya to the Guarding Forest. I hope that nothing wrong happened to them. But before I go, I need to visit a healer to find out why I feel so ill.

The human healer didn't know what was wrong with me, so I just decided to go on and have one of the elves check me, preferably Arget. The added bonus was that I knew that Arget would never tell anyone what was wrong with me, or even that something was wrong with me. I just hope that it won't be something that will slow me down.

Finally we arrived in Ellesmera, and everyone was surprised to see Saphira and Eragon. All of the sudden I felt a familiar presence talk in my mind, I will never leave you alone again!

I sighed and Ema landed in front of everyone as they all bowed to her. Eragon saw how big she was, and gasped, "That's your dragon?"

I noticed the upset expression on Ema's face, "Actually, Ema is my best friend. I've been around her for around 14 years."

Eragon's eyes looked like saucers. After that we were summoned into the hall, Ema excluded because of her size. The queen saw me practically hiding behind Saphira after she saw Arya. She exclaimed, "Oh my daughter, how I have wronged you! Shurtagal Manin why did you not return after the attack?"

I emerged and sighed, "I was afraid you would scold me for acting like shilevan and not allow me to help you anymore."

She stated with a kind expression on her face, "Oh, don't worry, I knew you would leave if there was a major chance you would go back to your father in Illera. But your grandfather is waiting for you. I wouldn't suggest making him wait."

I nodded, bowed, and ran to talk with Grandfather Oromis.

I went with Grandfather to pick up Eragon and Saphira, and it took all of my strength to not laugh at Eragon's face when he realized that he wasn't the only rider. I knew it well, because I had the same expression on my face multiple times when other eggs hatched. When we returned to the Crags, Eragon was tested by all three of us, but mostly Grandfather. Then he nodded, "You have many skills, but manners and chivalry are not among them. Manin, I expect you to help him with this."

I bowed my head, "As you wish ebrithl."

After multiple weeks, I took my cousin to my home under orders from Grandfather. It was a well hidden valley that was impossible to see from the sky, but it was equally hard to see from the ground. It was only by experience that I could find it. I guided Saphira to it, and when we landed everyone poked their heads out. When everyone saw me, they raced out and hugged me (well, my family did). The dragons stayed back, but I could tell that they actually were happy that I had survived. WhenEragon saw the dragons, he whispered to me, "Are you all riders?"

I nodded, "The reason that you've never seen my swords is that I didn't want to spill the secret. They are called Yin and Yang, and my best friend is the one you met yesterday, Ema. Everyone! Come introduce yourselves!"

Arget was first, "My name is Arget, and this is Star. My sword is called Terista, which means Spark."

Hugin smiled at Eragon, "I'm Hugin, Manin's twin brother. This is Midnight, and my sword is calledJartricv which means Judge."

Violet waved at him, "We've met, I'm Violet, the one that was with Manin in Carvahall. This is Lucky, and I called my sword Thrancv which means Life."

Silby whispered, "My name is Silbena, and this is Daitia. My sword is called Truintart which means Liberty."

Ash walked up to him, "I'm Ash and this is Flight. My sword is Iernamy, which means, what does it mean again?"

"You named it Happiness. Don't ask me why."

He blushed as Crizzy pushed him to the side, "I'm Chrysanthemum, but everyone called me Crizzy. This is Daisy and my sword is Lorantia or Sunshine."

Ennai was on Gummy when she introduced herself, "I'm Ennai, and this is Gummy. My sword is Erantiin, which means...Bubbles, I think."

I nodded, and pointed to our little friend, "This is Arrow. His rider is not here right now. But the rider's sword is Cielinm which means Purity."

I think that Eragon was a little overwhelmed, but he enjoyed spending time with us.

The Agati Blodren was the most amazing experience of my life. Between my elven blood and the spells that I placed on myself, I remembered every moment of the event. I remember every offering, including Eragon's poem. I thought that it was memorable, until the dragon tattoo came to life and cast a spell on Eragon. I watched as his face changed, and I saw the visible scars on his body disappear. I rushed to his side, and helped Arya carry him back to the tree.

When my grandfather told me about how close the Varden was to war, my siblings and I didn't hesitate. We all agreed to go help Eragon fight. Well, Hugin, Arget, Violet and I went with Eragon. The others would go with the elves. I can't imagine how shocked the humans were when we flew in with a large group of dragons. Nasuada was especially shocked when she saw how large Ema was, "How old are you Manin?"

I smiled, "Nineteen and a few months. But Ema just grew fast."

The next day we flew around and distracted the spellcasters while Eragon worked with Du Vangr Gata to kill them. But partway during the battle a giant red dragon rose from the midst of the enemy and went straight for my cousin. I took the lead and killed the rest of the spellcasters, and together our dragons, with very little help from us, destroyed half of the enemy army. But we suffered some casualties, such as Eragon losing faith in himself, and the dwarf king dying. Seeing my cousin's grief made me despise the promise that Brom had forced me to make.

But it was a relief to get Roran around, so that he could deal with his stupid dragon himself. Even if he was a little distracted because of his betrothed having been kidnapped by the Ra'sac.
