Alyssa's POV
I ravaged my closet trying to find the outfit I knew I had to wear that day. The previous night I saw myself in a vision, wearing an outfit that was a little classy but still functional, which would help me impress someone I have to meet. I've learned to trust my visions over the past days, and learned how they work.
My visions are always of the future, the future very soon to come, and come in three forms. The forms are what will be, what may be, and what will not be. What will be are visions of inevitability, that will happen no matter what. What may be are things that could happen, but may not with luck, like when Toria was going to go with Lloyd to the arcade.
What will not be are things that aren't really true, or visions at all, just easily remembered dreams. Me wearing this outfit was an inevitable vision. I found my outfit and put it on, white pants with a fancy black shirt and my usual black boots. My curls gently sat on my shoulders as I went to the bridge to meet up with the others.
Zane's POV
We all gathered in the bridge to discuss the Fangblade matter. We looked at a hologram of a Fangblade while thinking.
"Pythor has already found two Fangblades and we haven't, he has a map and we don't, so the question remains. How are we going to find them?" Nya pondered.
"I still can't believe you were the mysterious Samurai, is anyone else as blown away as I am?" Jay asked.
"Not really Jay..." Alyssa said as she stood in the doorway. Cole slightly froze and his jaw dropped. Kai broke the silence.
"Yea we're over that, can we move on?!"
"Woop woop woop woooop, someone's a little HOT under the collar..." Jay said.
"It appears his anger is because he has not found inner peace, and discovered his true potential like you and I have Jay." I informed.
"Great observation Mr. Roboto, but Cole hasn't found it either..."
"I got it! " Cole yelled.
"You've unlocked it?! WHY AM I THE ONLY ONE?!" Kai yelled.
"No, I recognize where ive seen the fang blade from, I have a picture of it" Cole said leaving the room.
"Oh, is that all, good..." Kai relaxed.
"Of COURSE you aren't angry about it..." Toria mocked. Kai glared at her as Cole came back in and showed us the picture.
"Oh, that's it!" Jay said.
"Back where I grew up, there's this pretty big completion where the winner gets the Blade Cup. My dad's won it multiple times." Cole said.
"You never told us your dad was an accomplished athlete, what sport?" I asked.
"Oh, he's a... a blacksmith..."
"Nothing wrong with that, my father was a blacksmith too, but I've never heard of a competition..." Kai said.
"That's because he's not a blacksmith blacksmith, he's a... Royal Blacksmith." Cole showed us. We tried not to snicker.
"That's your dad?" Jay asked.
"How did the Fangblade become a trophy?" Kai asked.
"Well supposedly, the Blade Cup was made by this guy that collected rare artifacts, his name was something like Dutch... no Clutch! Clutch Powers... anyway, it gets passed on to each year's winner." Cole said.
"Who has it now?" I asked.
"I don't know... I haven't talked to my father in years..."
"Well we'll call him up." Kai said.
"You can't! He, he thinks I'm in Ninjago City studying at the Marty Openhimers School of Performing Arts... he wanted me to follow in his footsteps, but when I couldn't sing or dance well I, I ran away... when he sees me he'll know I've been lying in all the letters I've been sending." Cole said.
"He doesn't know you're a ninja?" I questioned.
"What, you gonna crack some joke that my dad wears a tutu?"
"No, but if we're gonna get that Fang Blade, we better get our own act in tune." Kai said. Cole steered us there while everyone left, except Alyssa.
Cole's POV
I steered the ship, thoughts of fear running through my head.
"I'm sure everything will be okay if you tell him the truth..." I jumped at the voice before realizing it was Alyssa.
"He can get crazy about this stuff, he wont like it..." I sighed.
"He is your dad, he loves you. Maybe he wont like it at first, but he will accept it, I know it." She smiled. I turned to her and smiled a thank you and she nodded. I didn't realize I was leaning on the steering wheel until the ship turned. We started lose our footing. She slipped forwards and I accidentally caught her, our lips colliding.
I blushed a bright red. She pulled away, and I could see her face red as well. "Cole! Mind tellin' us why we can't stand!?" Toria shouted from the hallway. She walked into the room, using the wall for support.
She looked up at us and smirked. "Think this is a good time to be kissin' your girlfriend?" we blushed more as I turned back to the steering wheel. Alyssa left the room, and Toria followed.
Lloyd's POV
I waited in my cage, still upset that I wasn't able to get out of here, not to mention that I couldn't sleep last night. A scowl set across my face as Snappa opened the door of the cage. He and Spitta lead me to Skales and Pythor, where a small look of surprise took over me.
"You're letting me go?" "Only to fetch, my dear boy," Pythor said, leading me to the only part that looked to be steady. "Do ssstep lightly my dear." I gulped as I watched the parts of the floor crumbling. I closed my eyes, and could practically hear Toria laughing and teasing me as she jumped ahead.
I opened my eyes again, and jumped. The floor crumbled under me, and I gasped, grabbing onto the ledge. I pulled myself back up. I looked at Pythor. "Get me the fangblade, and I'll let you go." I looked at the floor as it began crumbling.
I looked up and pretended Toria was running in front of me. I ran after her, forgetting it was real life and not a game. I tripped and looked up at spikes coming down on me. I crawled across the floor, and just barely escaped them.
I stepped on a part of the floor that triggered several arrows to fly across the hall. I ran, somehow managing to dodge them all. I leaned against a bamboo staff to rest, when I saw the roof starting to cave in. I began running as the gravel pushed me forwards.
I looked up at the stand and climbed up the stairs. I looked down, seeing where it had once rested. "It's gone!" my voice echoed throughout the hall. "Do I still get to be free?!" "No!" Pythor roared. "Aw!" well, guess I won't be seeing the others anytime soon...
Toria's POV
We flew over Cole's old home town. Alyssa rode with Cole, and I went with Zane. The boys transformed their weapons back, and Cole opened up a suitcase. "Alright, hand 'em over." Ah, ah. But no mortal shall posses all four." Jay laughed. "Ha ha, very funny." Zane and Kai placed their's in as well.
"You wanna remind me again why we can't keep our weapons?" 'Why YOU can't keep your weapons.' I mentally thought, remembering the dagger I snuck into my hoodie. I carried my backpack, with my books on music and dance in it. Hey, if you're gonna carry a backpack, better fill it to convince.
"I TOLD you. My dad can't find out that I'm a ninja, and I don't feel like making up excuses why I'm carrying a giant scythe around with me. Just remember the plan, we find out who has the Fangblade trophy, we snatch it, and then we get the heck outta town."
I sighed and glanced at Alyssa, who just shook her head. Cole knocked on the door. "Just a moment!" a man with a thin face, chocolate brown eyes, and thin eyebrows opened the door. "Hey dad, how long has it been?" "What, you too good for the doorbell?" Cole's father slammed the door as we all stared.
"Use, the bell son." Cole rang the bell. "~Welcome~!" I snickered as his father opened the door once more. "Ha ha, come in. It's been forever son," he said, hugging Cole. "What have you got with you, a quartet? And are those back up singers?" he smiled at us as I pushed up my glasses.
"Come in, come in. I've got a kettle of lemon honey tea on the stove right now." he said, leading us in. We all sat down as he put on some music. Cole facepalmed, sighing. "So, what're the names of your dance partners?"
The boys said their names, and I stood up. "I'm Toria and this here is Alyssa, AKA, Cole's girlfriend." her face heated up, as did Cole's. "WE AREN'T DATING!" "Ha ha, not yet." I smirked, sitting down.
"So did my son tell you I broke my foot? It was the Cha Cha, but I swear the percussionist had it coming for him." Lou said, trying to break the silence."No, dad, I didn't tell them about your silly stories."
"Silly stories?!" "What he means is, we've been so busy training at the, uh..." "The Martha Oppenheimer, yeah." Jay cut Kai off as Lou stopped the music. "MARTHA Oppenheimer?" "What he's trying to say is the MARTY Oppenheimer school of Preforming Arts."
"Right, well um, we have this final research paper on the history of Ninjago talent, and what we really wanted to know was, how could we get our hands on the Bladecup?" "You're talking about getting your hands on THE Bladecup, the most prized and heavily guarded prize in all of Ninjago. The symbol of excellence, and harmony, and grace. You can't just GET it, you must earn it. You have to exhibit style, perfect pitch, push the boundaries of artistic licence, and, win this year's Ninjago Talent Show."
"Perhaps there is an easier way." Zane said. "Is this why you came? You knew I was entered, and when my quartet insisted, 'we shan't go on', you four and your friends have come to take our place! Ha ha, ingenious! My son, bringing forth the next generation of the Royal Blacksmiths! Let me hear the sweet, sweet, sound of harmony."
Kai, Jay, and Zane stood up. "Haaarmooony." I facepalmed and stood up. "Haaarmooony~." I sang. The boys turned and stared at me like I had suddenly sprouted wings. "Hey, I practiced, unlike you boys." I smirked. Lou turned to Alyssa. "Why don't you sing?" "I, uh, I-" "She doesn't want to show off too much, says she doesn't want ta make anyone jealous."
"Actually, I can't sing." Lou quirked his eyebrow. "How could you n-" Cole interrupted. "Look dad, we just want the trophy." "Yeah, we're bringing home the gold, and we want you to train us." Kai interrupted Cole.
Lou smiled. "I've never been so proud, if you'll excuse me, I need to write a song about my feelings." just as his father left, Cole turned to Kai. "What are you doing?!"
"Look, we enter this competition so we can get close to the Bladecup. Once we get the Fangblade, we leave town. How hard can this be?"
Alyssa's POV
Toria and I stood off to the side as the boys trained. "Okay, from the top, five six seven eight." "Bop till you drop," "Break it till you shake," "Move it till you loose it," "Spin it till you win it!" Lou stood up. "Stop stop stop, if my ear weren't attached to my head they'd be running away! Kai, love the energy, hate the hair. Jay, you're giving a lot, but I need more. Zane, like a machine, don't change anything. And Cole, try to act like you wanna be here."
Toria snickered. I heard Jay whisper to Kai. "He's worst than Sensei Wu!" Toria stopped snickering and whispered. "Follow me." before I could question, she had left the room. I followed her. "What's wrong Toria?" "Okay, there's a chance the boys' plan could fail, right?" "Yes, why?" "I think we should do our own backup plan!" "Like what?"
"Like, I don't know, enterin' the contest ourselves?" "No, no, no, no, not doing it!" "Too late!" "What are we doing?" "We're singin'." "Not happening." "C'mon, we gotta practice!" she grabbed my wrist and began pulling me after her. Well, we're dead.
Cole's POV
I watched as Toria and Alyssa left the room, and turned back to my dad. "Okay, moving forward, let's take a look at the big show stopping climax. Cole, we can't have history repeating itself." I groaned. "Dad, it was the Triple Tiger Sashay, I was SEVEN." "What's the Triple Tiger Sashay?" Kai asked. "Only the most difficult dance move ever created." "It's true, many professionals have dared try, but it's never been successfully completed."
"Hence my father thought a SEVEN YEAR OLD could! But I ended up falling on my face, humiliating myself and letting my quartet down." "If you're going to win, you have to go big! Alright, time for a break, take five." my father left the room and I turned to the others.
"Uh, I'm starting to see why Cole is so closed off," Jay said. "It's 'cause Twinkle Toes here couldn't deliver the goods! Is that why you ran away?" "Oh, I could deliver the goods! Look, I'll deal with my father, but let's stick to the plan. All we gotta do is keep this charade up long enough until we can get our hands on the trophy."
"I don't know, I'm starting to think we can win this thing." I glared at Jay. "Hmp!" "Okay, okay, we'll stick to the plan!"
Toria's POV
Alyssa and I stood off to the side, watching the boys. "Ya got the lyrics?" "Yes, but I'm so scared! What if no one likes my singing?" "Everyone will love your singin', so don't worry 'bout it!" "You sure?" "Positive." I turned back to watching the boys. "Dude, you gotta follow me!" "Follow you? You're two beats off!" "Actually, two point seven two off of the beat."
"Guys, guys! Let's not make this any harder than it needs to be," Cole shouted. "We just stick to the plan and keeps up this charade until the trophy's revealed, once we steal the Bladecup, we can argue all we want once we get back home." "But this is your home town, Cole, don't you wanna try and win it?" Jay asked.
Cole sighed, "The only dance step I want to perform is called, get me out of this nut house and let's burn these memories from my head." "What?" I turned my head to see Lou standing behind the boys. "Dad, I..." I glanced at Alyssa, who was frowning.
"You, you, were going to, STEAL it?" Cole walked towards his father. "Dad, I didn't mean for you to hear that, but, but I'm glad you did. There's something I've been wanting to tell you. All these years I haven't been training to be a singer or a dancer; I found something new that I'm REALLY good at. Dad,"
He whipped into a Spinjiztu tornado, changing into his ninja outfit. "I'm a ninja." he opened the suitcase and pulled out his scythe. "And the truth is, if we don't steal that Fangblade, I-I mean, Bladecup, there's other people that will, bad people, Serpentine. I now how ridiculous this sounds, but I'm proud of who I am, and I want you to be proud of me too."
Lou stepped back, frowning. "I can't be proud of any son who thinks STEALING is right. And I'm not going to wait around to watch you make a mockery of our family's legacy!" "Dad, I-!" I watched as Alyssa walked overt to him. "I'm sure he didn't mean all that." "Maybe if he just saw you in action." Jay suggested. "No, it's... it's okay."
We all turned to the sound of a door opening. "Treble Makers? Wait a minute, what are they doing here?" "I can't help it if I offend anyone, my only job will be to tell the truth." "You don't look anything like your photo." I watched as Kai opened the curtain. "Oh, sssadly the camera addss poundss. I'm jusst happy to have the opportunity to judge this prestigious competition."
"Wait a minute, I'm still here! He swallowed me! He's not a judge!" "Quiet, or elssse I won't let you out." "My apologies." I heard music playing, signaling that three farmers were carrying in the Bladecup. "The Fangblade." "Uh, you mean the Bladecup." "Yesss, yesss whatever." I went and grabbed Alyssa's wrist as the boys were distracted.
"We have ta get dressed." I whispered. She nodded as we went to get changed. I wore a purple t-shirt with a silver dragon on it, along with knee high boots and black jeans. Alyssa wore a similar outfit, but it was a silver shirt with a black dragon. Both of us had our hair tied back in a ponytail. "Next up singing Born To BE A Ninja, The Bounty Girls!"
We stood on the stage, getting ready to sing.
Alyssa: I wanna be a ninja, I'm gonna be a ninja.
Toria: I was born to be a ninja! I'll always be a ninja!
Alyssa: It wasn't long ago when I led a normal life!
Toria: Just a regular dude but gettinn' by alright!
Both: But then the Sensei found me and he warned me of the darker side! And now I'm on the path to bring them all to light! Hey, ho, hey, ho let's go!
Alyssa: Born to be a ninja! I was born to be a ninja!
Toria: I'll always be ninja! 'Cause I was born to be a ninja (Born to be a ninja!)
Alyssa: Born to be a ninja! I was born to be a ninja!
Toria: I'll always be a ninja! 'Cause I was born to be a ninja!
Both: I wanna be a ninja! I'm gonna be a ninja! I was born to be a ninja! I'll always be a ninja!
Alyssa: If you wanna be a ninja just make believe. You could be a ninja just like me.
Toria: Just jump up, kick, and move to the beat. You could be a ninja just like me. If you wanna be a ninja just make believe! You could be a ninja just like me!
Alyssa: Just jump up, kick, and move to the beat! You could be a ninja just like me! (You could be a ninja just like me!)
Both: Born to be a ninja, I was born to be a ninja, I'll always be a ninja, 'cause I was born to be be a ninja! (Born to be a ninja!)
Alyssa: Born to be a ninja! I was born to be a ninja!
Toria: I will always be a ninja! 'Cause I was born to be a ninja! (Born to be a ninja!)
Both: Born to be a ninja!
We stopped, both in fighting poses we had seen the boys do. I looked Pythor straight in the eye as I smiled, and saw a flash of purple go through his normally pink eyes. He held up a card with the number two on it, while the other judges held up signs with tens on them.
Cole's POV
The girls walked back while we stood with looks of disbelief. "What. Were. You. Thinking?!" "That it would be fun to sing?" Toria asked. "We thought if your plan failed we should have a back up." Alyssa stated. "Anyways, aren't ya gonna compliment Alyssa on her singin'?" I blushed slightly. Well, they did do a good job. "Okay, good job girls, but that doesn't give you an excuse for disobeying orders."
"Just get on stage already." "And last, but not least, The Royal Blacksmith- wait, what? This just in, there's been a switch, taking the stage next, Spin Harmony!" "If we're gonna do this, I want everyone to see who we are!" "I have butterflies in my stomach." Zane said. "Aw come on, that's just nerves." "No, I really do have butterflies."
He opened his chest panel and four butterflies flew out. "Oookay then, I'm glad he got that out of his system." "Last call for Spin Harmony!" "Let's do this, for Cole!" "If we can do the Tornado of Creation, we can score perfect tens out there!" "I can say anything, and it will only go to elevate our team unity." "Glad you guys are my friends. Let's do the whip!" "Ninjaaagooo!" we all whirled into Spinjiztu and headed on stage, our backs facing the audience.
"Ladies and gentlemen, Spiiin Harmooony!" we flipped to face everyone one at a time as the music started, performing our dance. Some snakes ran on stage, and we all got in our fighting stances. Zane jumped off of Jay's back as I spun Kai around to kick the snakes.
We all spun in the air, before whipping into Spinjiztu. A sandbag feel, almost hitting Jay until Zane kicked it out of the way. Jay, Kai and I all kicked some snakes before landing in poses, while Zane did the robot over to the side.
I ran towards three Fangpryes, punching one, kicking the next, then headbutting the last. I landed crouching. "Rawr~." everyone gasped. "The Triple Tiger Sashay!" Zane exclaimed. "He did it! The Tripe Tiger Sashay! He's danced the impossible." I stood there and looked into the crowd.
The others ran up and hugged me, Toria gave me a pat on the back as Alyssa hugged me. "Nice job Cole!" Toria said. The judges held up two ten cards, while Pythor held up a zero. "Boooo!" everyone shouted at him. We watched as a hand came out of his mouth and wrote a one next to it as everyone cheered. "What? Wait, I didn't write that!"
"It's a perfect score! Spin Harmony wins, the Bladecup!" we watched as it was carried over to us. I held it up and everyone cheered. "Ooh, this is a travesty of epic proportions! I demand for there to be a recount!" I looked at the crowd, until my eyes fell on my father's empty seat. Alyssa looked as well and placed a hand on my shoulder. "At least now he knows the truth."
We all walked backstage. "I've never felt more alive!" Zane said. "Ha ha, we did it!" they put a hand put a hand on their hip, doing another dance as Toria facepalmed. "Cole did it! Because of you, Ninjago sleeps safely tonight."
"Thanks, but go on and celebrate without me. Winning this just doesn't feel the same without my dad being able to-" "Cole!" I turned around. "Dad?" "I saw it all son. I saw it all." I ran towards him as he opened his arms for a hug. I hugged him and flipped off my hood. "You saw me dance?" "More importantly, I saw you fight. Those Serpentine were up to no good, trying to steal the show, and I saw you stand up for what was right. I was wrong, I shouldn't of pushed you so hard to follow in my footsteps. Everyone one is born with a special talent inside, just waiting to get out."
He smiled as the others walked up behind me. "And you, as Alyssa and Toria said, were born to be a ninja." "You're not mad?" "How can I be? My son's a hero!" "Sssorry to interrupt your little family reunion, but did you know, it's me?" Pythor said.
"Next time use somethin' better than a fake beard, lizard breath!" Toria shouted. "I didn't want you to miss our big show stopper!" Pythor shouted. We saw two Constrictai hit a large metal box into the lights, causing them to fall. "Dad!" I shouted, running and covering my father.
Alyssa's POV
I watched as Cole ran to save his father. Before I could react, the ruble had landed on them. We all coughed. "They took the Fangblade." "Cole!" I shouted as we ran to the ruble. " We turned to the case with the Golden Weapons in it, seeing Cole's glowing. "He found his true potential!"
We saw brown and golden lights come from underneath the ruble. Cole threw the ruble off of himself and turned towards us. He helped his father up. "Huh? H-how did we survive that? Son?" "Cole's found his true potential!" I exclaimed.
"His relationship with his father must've been holdin' him back!" Toria agreed. "He's indestructible!" "Great, so now I really am the only one who hasn't figured out his special power!"
"Is everyone alright? What just happened?" "We're all okay, son."
Toria's POV
We all sat in the Bounty, laughing and talking, when Jay ran out of the boys' room. "Guys, guess what!" "What?" "I made an invention where we'll be able to see Alyssa's visions!" before anyone could respond, Alyssa let out a scream and fell over. "No better time than the present! Get your thingy, Jay!" I shouted.
He nodded, running back to his room. He came back with a small box. "I just gotta press this button." he pressed it and sat it near Alyssa. We all saw Alyssa and a girl with short brown hair in a purple t-shirt and black jeans on the Bounty. The girl is bleeding and unconscious. The ninja are watching in horror as Alyssa fought Mel with a sword.
She suddenly stabbed Alyssa's stomach, as she fell over, coughing up blood. The real Alyssa came on scene, falling to her knees. "Is this a will, maybe, or won't?!" she shouted. Mel turned to her with a smirk. "Maybe..." she ran forwards. Alyssa sat up, screaming, as the screen disappeared.
Cole ran towards her and sat down. "Alyssa?" "M-Mel, s-she-" "We saw," I said, frowning. "It was a maybe, right? We'll make sure that's not what happens." Alyssa nodded, still unsure. "You should go to bed." Cole said, helping her up. "O-okay..."
