Chapter Eleven: School Days and Steamy Nights
School was getting harder for Fiona to focus on. I could tell her mind was primarily on the situation with her mum's health and worrying about her mum and baby brother.
One day at lunch, since she was clearly thinking about it anyway, I asked, "Have your parents talked about what they're going to name him?*
"Huh?" Was her half-hearted response.
"Your baby brother. Do they have a name for him yet?" I asked gently.
"Oh. Sorry. I was lost in thought. Yeah, they want to call him Little Arthur, which I think is ridiculous, because my dad is already Arthur and it will just be confusing. I think his name should be Fergus. I've tried to sell them on it, but the only compromise I could squeak out of them was that his middle name will be Fergus and I can call him that if I want to." She shrugged.
"Baby Fergus." I smiled. "I like that. I think I'll call him that too. Maybe if we all do, they'll come around."
Alice searched her visions for the outcome of my decision. "Yep! Baby Fergus it is!"
"Aww, thank you, Bella!" Fiona beamed, throwing her arms around me in a hug, her mood noticeably improved.
She smelled fantastic, and I don't just mean in a hungry vampire sort of way. I liked her shampoo. I'd have to ask where she got it. Anyway, I lingered a fair bit longer than I should have and was sniffing her hair, when I felt her stiffen a bit in my arms. "Bella?" She asked hesitantly.
I pulled back slightly, so I could see her face. "Yes, Fiona?"
"Are you…trying not to eat me?" She whispered quietly. I knew she meant in the vampire way and realized that unlike when I was a human, hanging around with vampires, Fiona actually had a self-preservation instinct.
"No!" I laughed pulling away. "You just smell like mangos and coconut in a really nice way. I think it's your shampoo?" I confirmed.
I was relieved to see her posture immediately relax. "Oh! Yeah, it's actually homemade. It's really easy too. You just throw a bunch of stuff in a blender. You can make different kinds, I even have a whole recipe book full of beauty products and I've tried most of them. I can show you how to make it?" She offered.
"Yes please!" I nodded and Alice beamed.
"We'll have to have a girl's night on the weekend and try making a bunch of the products!" Alice cheered excitedly.
"Oh, goodie! Can I come to girl's night?" Emmett teased in his best girly voice. "I think I need to perfect my makeup routine!"
Jasper snickered and Alice shot them both a glare.
"Girls night is not to be trifled with. It is a serious, time-honored ritual among women! So quit taking the piss!" Alice grumped.
"Yeah, what she said." I laughed. "Anyway, thanks for sharing your secret recipes Fiona, I know we're gonna have a blast." I smiled.
And just then, two girls came by our table. Katie Macalister and Alana Moncreiffe, they were both in some of my classes. "Hullo Bella, Fiona. We dinnae mean tae interrupt, but have either of you got any notes we can borrow from this morning's lessons? We're normally quite diligent but our parents had a party round ours last night and we got pretty sozzled so our heads were buzzin' somethin' awful all mornin'."
"Sozzled?" I asked, totally confused.
"Yeah, you know, pie-eyed? Trollied? Minced?" Katie who reminded me a lot of Jessica Stanley attempted to elaborate.
"She means they were intoxicated, Bella." Fiona giggled.
"Oh! You're hungover!" I whispered with a laugh. "Sure, you can borrow my notes," I agreed fishing out the ones for the classes we shared. Fiona handed them another set from a class she had with them that I didn't. The two girls seemed to have the same timetable. And I noticed they'd said the party was at their house. After they thanked us and went on their merry way, I turned to Fiona.
"Do they live together?" I asked her in a whisper.
"Aye. Katie and Alana are stepsisters. Alana's dad married Katie's mum." Fiona clarified.
"Oh! That makes so much more sense now." I laughed quietly. "I thought they were lesbian lovers!"
"They probably think that about us, Bella, especially after that hug you just gave me." Fiona winked.
"Oh well, let them think it." I shrugged. "Who knows? Maybe at some point, they'll be right."
"Ye ken, I think I'm gonna like being a Cullen. Very much!" Fiona laughed.
I grinned. I was definitely looking forward to Fiona's initiation, though I dreaded the end of my time with Carlisle. I had gotten used to his touch and I longed for more of it. Thankfully, we had nearly four months still to go!
When we got home from school that day, I ran straight off to find Carlisle.
I had been thinking about him on and off all day. He was in the field, checking on an injured sheep when I got there.
"Hi, Baby." I beamed, wrapping my arms around him.
"Hello, gorgeous." He smiled, kissing me passionately. "I'm almost finished here, and then I was thinking we might take in a movie in Inverness if you'd be up for it?"
"Yeah, that sounds wonderful. I'll go get changed?" I offered.
"Actually let me finish up here first, so I can watch you change," Carlisle smirked mischievously.
"Mmmn, I like that idea." I nodded, already feeling slightly aroused at the prospect.
"Good Girl. I'll be in within the next five minutes or so," he nodded, ushering me inside.
When I got inside, Jasper and Rose were already curled up reading in the living room, since it was their last day together and I could already hear Em and Esme going at it upstairs. Edward and Alice were in the kitchen, doing that weird thing they would do where Edward would decide to ask Alice a question and she'd get a vision of said question and let him read the answer out of her mind.
I think she was filling him in on our school day. They'd sometimes pass hours in silent communication. It was intense but in kind of a sexy way. They'd be staring into each other's eyes and you never had any idea if they were discussing something boring or trading fantasies.
"Nessie stopped by earlier," Edward said when he heard me come in. He didn't break eye contact with Alice though.
"Cool. When I talked to her yesterday evening she mentioned a book she wanted to borrow for the kids. Did you help her find it?" I asked from the stairwell before heading upstairs.
"Yes, it was Goodnight Moon. Frankly, I was surprised they didn't already have a copy. I told her I would order one for them online. If Edasem and Isalie are anything like Renesmee was, they'll be asking to hear it several times a night." He chuckled softly.
It was the first time since our initiation banquet that I had allowed myself a moment to really focus on how much I missed Edward. I didn't miss his presence, of course, he was around all the time. I just missed the little things, like when he would call me Love, or when he would walk up and put his arm around me. The little couple-y things that I'd gotten so used to over the last two decades.
"Thanks for handling that," I said quietly and headed up the stairs before the feeling had a chance to fully overwhelm me.
I knew Jasper had felt it though because he asked Rose then if she wanted to go for a hunt and I could tell his voice was strained. I sent him my remorse before they left and he sent me some comfort which I definitely appreciated.
Almost immediately after I got to our room, I heard Carlisle come in and head upstairs. I was impressed with how quickly he noticed my mood shift, even though I felt bad that it was so apparent.
"Homesick, Darling?" He asked, pulling me into his arms. I knew that the home he was referring to was Edward.
"A little," I admitted. "But I'm definitely looking forward to our night out in the city."
"Yes, well before we go anywhere, you'll have to take off those school clothes." He smirked, his scintillating gaze going straight to my core.
"Yes, Sir." I nodded, making a point to strip agonizingly slowly, beginning with my stockings and panties. I knew by now that he liked it very much when I left the pleated skirt on.
"That's a Good Girl." He groaned, his arousal clearly evident through his trousers.
He moved so that he was on the bed, seated in a reclined position with his back against the headboard.
"Come here and sit in my lap?" He instructed.
I moved quickly to do so, just as he finished lowering his zipper. He then expertly freed his length from the confines of his trousers and was immediately fully seated inside of my passage, kissing me as he began to thrust.
"I love it when you come home dressed in those clothes. It makes me feel like a naughty old man, defiling a young girl." He groaned.
"I hate to break it to you, Doctor Cullen, but if you go by our actual ages, where I am thirty-eight and you are three hundred, eighty-six? You kinda are." I grinned mischievously.
"Mmmn, yes, I suppose that is true. And is it wrong that I thoroughly enjoy defiling you, Sweetheart?" He asked, pinching my nipples as I bounced up and down in his lap, driving him deeper into me with every downward movement.
"Some people might think so, but for me? I don't think anything that makes us this happy could be wrong." I sighed, loving the feel of him.
"I think you may be right, Darling. At least, I hope so." He nodded.
Just then the phone rang. "Bella! It's for you!" Alice called.
"Do you want me to stop, Sweetheart?" Carlisle asked, clearly hoping I didn't.
"No, don't, I'm so close!" I gasped, reaching over and grabbing the cordless. "Hello?" I asked breathlessly into the receiver.
"Bella? It's Fiona, is this a good time?"
"Ask her if Ceit is alright," Carlisle whispered.
"Yeah, I can talk, is your mom okay?" I groaned, pressing myself against Carlisle, searching for release.
"Yeah, it's nothing to do with that, sorry, I should have specified. Are you okay? You sound out of breath."
Carlisle and I both breathed a sigh of relief that it wasn't serious.
"I'm great, actually. I'm having sex with Carlisle." I moaned.
"Right now?!"
Fiona exclaimed, sounding startled. I couldn't help but giggle.
"Yes, right now! He's about to make me come!" I gasped, as he reached down to touch me where our bodies met. "Oh Carlisle, yes, right there, Baby, that's perfect! Fuck Fiona, I'm coming so hard!" I cried out loudly.
"Bella will call you back later, Dear. Goodbye." Carlisle said, snatching the phone from me and hanging it up.
"Carlisle! I didn't even find out what she called for!" I laughed as my muscles continued to clench around his throbbing shaft.
"I don't care, Darling, you were very close to making me break one of my own hard limits," He growled, though it didn't sound angry, more like lustful.
"I was?" I asked, puzzled.
"I don't do group sex," he stated as if that explained everything.
Ohhkay? "I wasn't aware that talking to someone on the telephone while having sex counted," I admitted.
"It doesn't, necessarily, Bella. But your little phone call was so damned sexy that I was about three seconds away from begging Fiona to join us," he explained.
"Oh!" I laughed, finally understanding. "I'm sorry, Carlisle. It wasn't my intention."
"That's alright, Sweetheart." He smiled, kissing me and changing our pace to find his own release, which didn't take much since apparently I really had him going.
"Can I ask, why you…?" I trailed off, unsure if it was alright to ask or not.
"Why I have that rule?" He finished for me.
I nodded. "But you don't have to explain if you don't want to."
"It's okay, Bella. Mostly it is the same reason I don't go in for dalliances. To me, carnal pleasures should accompany a deep, emotional connection. Group sex, in my opinion, tends to be more about lust and satisfying the flesh than it is about connection. It's something Esme and I did try, early on, before we had a structured system in place and had not yet established the rules. It wasn't a bad experience, but it definitely left me feeling…less than fulfilled, emotionally." He shrugged.
"I see." I nodded. I wanted to ask who they had tried it with, but I knew that would break another one of his rules because Carlisle didn't kiss and tell.
"Yes. So now, do we want to still get ready and head into the city?" He smiled.
"Yeah." I nodded. "I should probably shower. Want to join me?"
Carlisle beamed radiantly. "I would love to, Bella," he agreed and off we went to steam up the bathroom.
The movie was sensational. It was a documentary about Hollywood throughout the twentieth century and it was very well done.
"I loved the parts about the Golden Age, especially learning about The Hays Code, I had never even heard of that before. But a lot of my favorite actors and actresses are from the golden age," I told Carlisle as we walked hand in hand through the streets of Inverness.
"Really, Darling? Like who?" He inquired.
"Vivien Leigh, for one. I hadn't heard that she was born in India, that was a surprise to learn. And James Dean, of course, though I had no clue his off-screen life was so interesting." I smiled.
"Indeed. I doubt very many people knew just how interesting." Carlisle nodded.
"How about you, Carlisle? Who are your favorite Golden Age actors?" I asked as we made our way back to the car.
"I love Humphrey Bogart. And Katharine Hepburn. The African Queen is one of my favorite movies." He smiled, opening my door for me.
"Mmn hmmn, yeah, she was amazing. I still remember when we all watched The Rainmaker and I thought it was going to be that Danny DeVito movie from the 1990s, the one based on the Grisham novel. I was so embarrassed when I realized it was an entirely different movie. But now I love the 1956 one." I reminisced as we started driving home.
"Yes, I loved her in that one as well." He nodded.
"I was also surprised how many actors I knew simply from having seen them on I Love Lucy!" I laughed.
"You mean like William Holden? And Richard Widmark?" He smirked.
"Yes, and Cornel Wilde and Rock Hudson among others!" I added.
"My favorite episode was the one with Harpo Marx." Carlisle chuckled.
"That was a good one, yeah." I agreed. "I really liked the John Wayne ones too."
"Yes, they sure don't make television quite as amusing anymore." He sighed.
"I dunno, Carlisle. I'd have to argue that after binging all the seasons of Fuller House." I laughed happily.
"Ooh, you might have a point there!" He conceded, kissing me as we drove out of Inverness.
We sat in silence for a while, watching the countryside go by. The Highlands were absolutely beautiful to drive through. "Thank you for suggesting the movie and the visit to the city, Carlisle. It was really nice to be able to kiss you without worrying who might be watching."
"Indeed it was, Sweetheart. However, I will say the last time somebody caught us kissing seems to be turning out fairly well so far." He smirked.
"True. Speaking of Fiona, I'll have to call her when we get home and find out why she called earlier." I laughed.
"Yes, you probably should. I'm sorry I hung up on her. You'll tell her I didn't mean to be rude?" He pouted adorably.
"Of course. Don't worry, I'll make sure she knows it wasn't personal," I agreed.
He smiled, taking my hand in his. "Thank you, Bella. I love you, so much."
"I love you, Carlisle," I whispered, kissing his hand. "Always."
Okay, so next chapter, Jasper and Esme will be starting a union because Emmett and Rose are going be back in each other's arms for rest of this switch. When couples set a shorter maximum it's generally so they have more time to reconnect. And that will be especially helpful because as we've seen, Rosalie has some big changes coming in regards to her sexual parameters.
I'm hoping this next chapter will get us to the end of the longer unions though, because after that we need to do a time skip and another Initiation Banquet for our new people!
Love to hear your feedback!
Hugs and Blessings,
