Andromeda Black was currently sat in the potions class room, glaring into a dirty cauldron as she scrubbed it by hand. She hadn't meant to land herself in detention, she was only trying to save her sister from it. She knew that one more owl home from the school about Bellatrix being placed in detention would have spelt disaster, though with her perfect reputation with her family she knew she could get away with one owl home. They would simply deny her fault in it and call the school liars. Though as she sat scrubbing the third cauldron of the evening she couldn't help but curse her sister.
They had all been sat around the Slytherin table in the Great Hall when it had happened. Andromeda was day dreaming yet again, the fifteen year old staring over at the Hufflepuff table as Ted Tonks laughed and joked with his friends. She knew the young boy had a crush on her, she couldn't help herself as she stared at him, trying to wonder what on earth he saw in a Slytherin Black girl like her . . . She wasn't interested, she didn't think, but her mind couldn't help but wonder.
It was only when Ted noticed her staring that she had stopped, instead returning her attention to her sisters. Bellatrix was sat quite comfortably leaning against Rodolphus Lestrange as she went on and on about The Dark Lord and how awe inspiring he was. Lucius tried to shush her but she simply laughed, carrying on about how she wanted to join him and how great it would all be. Andromeda couldn't help but think her naïve as her fiancé was clearly not agreeable to letting his future wife get involved in such matters (not that Andromeda ever thought she would let him stop her).
A small piece of parchment flew over to the middle Black sister. Bellatrix and Narcissa immediately looked to the piece of parchment, Bellatrix snatching it from her hands. Andromeda never got to read what was on the piece of paper as with a glare of fury Bellatrix drew her wand, sending a hex straight at poor Ted Tonks.
When Professor Slughorn had come over to question the Slytherins of the source of the spell Bellatrix was still seething with rage. Andromeda stood from the table, confessing her guilt. She wasn't sure if he quite believed her but it was enough to get her older sister out of trouble, something Andromeda Black was far too used to doing.
