Hello guys! I apologise for this late update. I'd say I don't have an excuse, but I would say health problems is good enough, really.
I was planning to get this finished on Tuesday, but I ended up getting a kitten I've been waiting for, for weeks! Naturally, I've been helping her settle in and such. She is called Luna c:
But anyway, enough about that. I hope you enjoy this longer chapter! I was only planning on doing half of the chapter in Damien's POV, but I ended up doing all of this. After this chapter, we will be back at the time we were at with Pip in chapter nine. Sorry if this causes any confusion!
Damien woke up the next morning with a smirk on his face. He could last for a long time without sleep, due to him not actually being human, but the situation with Pip had left him feeling exhausted.
But today, he was going to come face-to-face with Cartman. Naturally, just scaring him wasn't enough, and he needed to go further. It would be in a similar fashion to how he solved the issue of Craig Tucker and Trent Boyett, but he knew it would take a little bit longer and take more effort. But, he was up for it, of course. It was always nice to take a break from his usual duties in Hell and it was also nice to be helping Pip... Which was still strange for him to think.
He sat up in his bed, sighing. He ran his hand through his hair, thinking about what he had overheard the previous day. It was just so hard for it to sink in. But, in a way, it was slightly humorous. Who knew that out of all the people that they could have fallen for, they fell for each other? In fact, it was amusing just to think that Damien actually fell for someone, mortal or not.
He stood up, and began to walk over to his door. As much as he seriously did not want to see his father, after their conversation yesterday, he thought it would be best to let his father know that he was going to be spending the day on the surface.
As he opened his door, he had to hold in a groan when he saw Lucius standing there, his hand raised as though he was just about to knock.
"What is it now, Lucius?" Damien snapped.
"Forgive me, Master, but your father wishes to see you again," Lucius replied.
"Oh, how lovely," Damien spat. "I was just going to go there now, actually. Do you have any idea about why he wants to see me?"
"He thought you would say that, and might leave if you knew he wanted to see you," said Lucius. "He said he felt like your conversation last night did not end well and he wants to discuss what you were talking about further, my Lord."
"Well, as much as I would like to listen to more of his pointless lectures, I think I'll pass. Perhaps I should head up there now, rather than go to him. Thank you for making me see sense, Lucius, I appreciate it."
"But, Master!" Lucius cried. "Your father says that it is very important, and he will have to consider making you leave this place if you carry on disobeying him!"
"I honestly do not give a shit," Damien found himself saying. "It would be more of a loss for him, not me. He would make me leave? That's fine. I'm never listened to by him anyway, so is it really worth it? I do the most out of all of my siblings around here, but he only dislikes me more than them because he is scared about me falling for a mortal. He doesn't even care about that properly; he just doesn't want his oldest son making him look bad. So, you can tell him that he can shove what he wants to discuss with me up his fucking ass."
"M-Master, you-"
But Damien had already vanished before Lucius even had time to finish his sentence.
Damien had realised that by going to the surface earlier, he still had a lot of time to wait. Cartman wouldn't even be awake yet, never mind in a position for Damien to even simply tease him. He would have to find something to do while he was waiting.
He walked down the quiet streets of South Park, holding in chuckles from the stares he got from the odd person walking by. It was probably not a normal thing to see a guy with red eyes walking past them.
He paused when he walked by Tweak Bros. It couldn't hurt, right? He did have to pass the time, after all.
He walked over to the counter, and peered over at the boy standing behind the cash register. He was quite surprised to see Tweek Tweak looking back at him. The boy's eyes widened.
"G-GAH! WHAT THE H-HELL?" he cried, taking a couple of steps back. Damien had to hold in a laugh. Surely his eyes didn't look that natural?
"Oh, I'm sorry. I wore these to scare someone I know as a joke and I didn't know I would be stopping here."
"O-Oh, I s-see..." Tweek said, still looking at Damien's eyes warily. "I-I haven't seen you, ngh, around b-before. T-That didn't help."
"Yeah, I'm only staying here for a while," said Damien. It wasn't really a lie.
"A-Anyway, are you h-here to order anything?"
"Of course. A black coffee will do. I like it strong."
"C-Coming right up, a-and you can sit down, if y-you want."
Damien nodded, and sat down on one of the stools. He looked around the shop, and only just noticed that it was completely empty.
"Why are you working so early?" Damien asked.
"I-If I work in the early mornings, my p-parents let me work l-less hours after school," Tweek explained.
"Ah, that makes sense."
"H-Here you go," Tweek said, handing him a mug. "T-That'll be..."
"Just take this," said Damien, handing him a ten dollar bill.
"A-Are you sure?" Tweek asked, looking at him with wide eyes.
"Yeah, I don't mind. Just take it," said Damien. As if he was actually going to try to figure out everything to do with money... Especially if he could just conjure any amount he liked.
"T-Thank you," Tweek smiled, and put the bill in the cash register.
"Don't mention it," said Damien, and downed the mug of coffee in only a matter of two gulps. Tweek stared at him in shock, but also with mild amusement.
"I-I'm the only one before you who I've known to d-do that."
Damien chuckled, and slid off his stool.
"Well, until next time," he said, and walked over to the door before Tweek could even respond. A smirk appeared on his face when a boy in a blue hat stood in the doorway, looking at Damien in amazement.
"What on Earth..."
"It's a pleasure to see you, Craig," Damien said, his smirk growing. Craig nodded slowly, and quickly walked over to Tweek, obviously too shocked to do anything else. He was probably too scared, also. He chuckled quietly to himself, and left.
Damien looked across the street at Cartman on the other side. He was looking around warily, and it was clear that the event which occurred the previous night had left him still shaken. Damien watched as Cartman joined Kyle, Stan and Kenny at the bus stop, though he kept his distance, for now.
"What's up with you, Fatass?" Kyle asked.
"Shut up, Jew, I'm not in the mood."
"Seriously, what's up?" Stan questioned, looking at Cartman strangely. "You seem pretty off, dude."
"I said I'm not in the mood! God, just shut up, fag,"
"Someone's still clearly not happy about not getting the pussy," Kenny grinned. Cartman glared at him, and flipped him off. By this point, Damien was directly opposite them. He stared at Cartman, and smirked evilly when Cartman looked back. The other boy looked at him in horror, and Damien knew that Cartman immediately knew that Damien was the one who terrorised him that night. That was a perk of Damien's powers.
"Dude, what are you looking at?" Stan asked, looking over at where Cartman's eyes were fixed, but there was nothing there.
That was another perk of Damien's powers.
He decided that if he could somehow get close to Cartman while he was in school, it would have more of an impact. By this point, Damien knew that Cartman would most likely already be ready for Damien to get through to him, but there was no harm in having a little bit of fun until then.
He waited until a few hours later, when he knew that the students would be on their lunch break. He never liked waiting, but it would be stupid to strike with others there. He knew that the majority of students, if not all, spent the first part of lunch break in the canteen. If he could just lure Cartman out of there into the empty corridor, even if it's only for a minute, it would scare the boy a lot. Damien chuckled to himself... This was going to be fun.
He peered through the window of the canteen doors, and fixed his eyes straight on Cartman. He had this natural thing about him which made people sense him, so that was why Cartman, almost immediately, looked up and met Damien's eyes. Damien smirked when he saw fear flicker on Cartman's face, and backed away from the door. He knew that Cartman would follow, and he was right.
Soon after, Cartman burst through the doors, his eyes staring at Damien.
"Hello, Eric," he said quietly, but his voice was slightly menacing.
"STOP STALKING ME, YOU FREAK!" Cartman screamed at him.
"Oh my, that wasn't very nice," Damien chuckled. Both of the boys' eyes fell on the door when it opened, but when Cartman looked back at where Damien had been standing, he was already gone.
He had made sure to teleport himself in a quiet area away from the school so he was not seen, and quickly made sure to conjure his most favourite flame. There was no way he was missing this.
"Dude, you must be crazy or something. There's no one here," Kyle was saying to Cartman. Kenny and Stan were either side of him, and more students had begun to gather. Including Pip and his friends, he noticed.
"KAHL, I'M NOT CRAZY! There was someone here!"
"Cartman, we got here straight after you did, and there was no one here."
Damien laughed quietly to himself. No one there, indeed, Stan...
"I swear, there was! They've been following me around since last night. I'm not lying!"
"There is no one here, Cartman."
Well, not now there wasn't...
"GOD, SHUT UP, KAHL! Why would I fucking lie about that?"
"Maybe because you've lied about a lot of things for attention, before?"
All three of Cartman's friends' reactions made the situation a whole lot funnier.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP, YOU POOR PIECE OF SHIT!"
"Cartman, calm down!"
"NO! SCREW YOU GUYS, I'M GOING HOME!"
"Going home, eh?" Damien murmured, and extinguished the flame. "Perhaps I should pay him another visit."
Damien slowly approached Cartman's house, wondering what to do. He was home now, so should he go for the scarier approach, or something a bit gentler? He could always try to simply shock him... So he teleported himself right besides Cartman on his sofa.
"WHAT THE FUCK!" Cartman leapt off the couch, staring at Damien with wide, fearful eyes. "Where did you come from?"
"Outside your house," Damien shrugged, getting up from the sofa. Cartman backed up a couple of steps, his eyes fixed on Damien.
"Why did you do all that last night? And why the fuck have you been following me?"
"Well, I needed you scared," Damien said simply. "Though I admit that whole thing at school was just for the giggles. I guess it's because I needed to unwind a little bit, you know, from how much the mere thought of you makes me want to kill you."
"You're crazy."
"I wouldn't call myself crazy. Evil, yes. I don't mean what you call evil, either. Well, perhaps I didn't put someone's parents in a chilli for revenge..."
"I don't think you get much worse than that, to be honest," Cartman laughed, but it didn't reach his eyes. Damien knew that Cartman was scared.
"Oh no, of course not. Torturing souls in Hell and punishing people in the worst ways possible isn't that bad, right?"
Cartman's eyes widened further, and it was obvious he was certainly not expecting that reply.
"But the thing is, Cartman, is that I've not been doing this whole thing for the fun of it. I'm here on business."
"What sort of business?" Cartman questioned.
"Well, personal business, anyway. This has nothing to do with my usual duties," said Damien. He gestured towards the dining room, smirking. "Why don't we go talk in there? I always find having some sort of table or desk makes it feel more... Sophisticated."
"There's no way in Hell I'm talking about any sort of 'business' with you," Cartman said, taking a step back. Damien laughed, and raised his hand. He slowly began to clench it into a fist, and Cartman gasped and clutched his neck, staring at Damien with wide and frightened eyes.
"W-What..." he coughed.
"Let me say that again," Damien said softly, walking closer to Cartman. He clenched his fist tighter, and Cartman grasped at his neck even more, barely unable to breathe. "Why don't we go talk in there?"
Cartman nodded, and gasped for air when Damien released the pressure. He smiled, and held a hand out in the direction of the dining room.
"Why don't you go first?" he said. "You seem to be less of a gentleman than I, so I thought it would be appropriate. Oh, and besides..."
Damien lowered his hand, and looked straight into Cartman's eyes.
"I know you'd try to attack me from behind. If you even try anything, then I will cause you pain that you have never felt in your entire life. Understood?"
Cartman gulped, and nodded slowly. He walked over to the dining room, and turned around to Damien behind him.
"Well, sit down then. This is your house, after all," Damien said, and watched as Cartman steadily sat into one of the chairs, his eyes fixed on Damien. "It seems to be more of your house than your mother's."
Cartman's fearful watch on Damien suddenly turned into one of anger.
"Don't start anything about my mother," he hissed.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Where is she?" Damien smirked.
"She's in bed. She was out late last night."
"Ah, won't be waking up any time soon then, will she?" Damien chuckled, and sat down in a chair opposite him.
"What is this all about?" said Cartman, looking frustrated. "Who are you? What are you?"
"I'd appreciate it if you relaxed on the questions," Damien said, grinning slightly. "Well, I shall put it simply for you. This is about Pip Pirrup, I am Damien Thorn, the eldest son of Satan, and I am a demon."
Silence fell on the room as Cartman stared at him in disbelief and shock.
"I'm sure you believe that, can't you?" Damien smirked. "I mean, how else would I be able to do this?"
He clicked his fingers, and some sort of file fell from a flash of fire into his hand.
"What is someone like you doing here about Pip?" Cartman asked, staring at the file which had appeared out of nowhere.
"That is what I am about to explain to you," said Damien. He placed the file on the table, and waved his hand so that it opened on a page of a boy who Cartman naturally knew. "You know who this is, don't you?"
"Obviously, that's Craig. Why's he in here?"
"He's in here because this is a file on all of the residents in South Park. With what I have to do back home, is it really a surprise I have information on the living?"
"But why are you asking me about Craig?"
"Don't you remember how Craig used to treat Pip?"
"He didn't-"
"Yes, he did," said Damien, narrowing his eyes slightly. "Just because he never bullied him like you did doesn't mean he never hurt him. Craig was hurt because of Tweek's problems, and to help deal with his emotions, he took out his anger on Pip."
"But he's not like that anymore. They're even friends."
"Why do you think that is?" Damien asked. "How do you think that Tweek made such a miraculous recovery, when he was supposed to die?"
"I don't-"
"You don't understand?" Damien chuckled. He raised his hand, and a deep blue light appeared in his hand. "This is a sign of a deal that we made. Thanks to me, Craig saw his mistakes and promised to never hurt Pip again. In return, I healed Tweek. The next day, they became friends. I knew that Craig cared so much for Tweek, and that is way he did what he did. That is why I understood his situation a little more than Trent's."
"Trent's?"
"I visited him after Craig," Damien explained, waving his other hand once again so that the pages flicked to Trent Boyett. "His case was different than Craig's. He treated Pip like he did because of what has happened to him, rather than someone else."
He looked at the light in his hand, and it changed to yellow.
"It was harder for me to change his ways, and it took a little persuasion. But, he still agreed. That is why neither him nor his little gang have gone anywhere near Pip."
"I was wondering what has been wrong with him," Cartman murmured. "But what's with the light?"
"Oh, you probably wouldn't believe me," Damien laughed. "It's nothing for you to worry about."
He clenched his hand into a fist, and the light vanished away. He then clicked his fingers on his other hand, and the file on the desk also disappeared, in the flash of fire it had appeared from.
"Why are you helping Pip?" Cartman asked, curiously. "You are a demon, right? I always thought you had no emotion for anything, except from anger, maybe."
"That's what I have always believed," said Damien, with a slight frown. "Pip changed that belief, however. I've felt emotions that I never thought would be possible for me to even remotely feel until he came along."
"Is that even possible?"
"Apparently so. But, I'm not here to discuss what I feel for Pip. I'm here to discuss more about how you feel about Pip."
"Let me guess, you've played your part as the hero for Craig and Trent and now you're here for me, right?"
"I'm not joking about this," said Damien, his eyes narrowing. "I am being deadly serious."
The word 'deadly' was spat out in a menacing voice, and Cartman gulped and nodded, fear returning back into his eyes.
"I-I understand."
Damien almost laughed. He was scared enough to actually stammer? But, he kept a straight face, as this was certainly no time for laughing.
"I bet you think this is going to be a simple threat, don't you? A case of hurt him, I'll hurt you. But, that shit doesn't work, unlike some people believe. Sure, you might be scared of doing anything for a while, but then what? You'll soon just go back to your old ways. But I like to do things properly. I didn't just stop Craig and Trent by threatening them; I made them see why they needed to stop, and why they were doing what they were."
"There's nothing for me to see about why I've been bullying him," Cartman muttered, but it was clearly obvious that he was lying.
"We both know that isn't true," Damien said. "The problem is with you is that you're a little bit more complicated than the other two were. Craig bullied Pip only when Tweek was being affected by his problems the most. Craig felt pain from Tweek's pain, and he took it out on Pip. Trent was different than this. He dealt with his own problems by bullying Pip, not someone else's. But you, however... You're a mixture of both, aren't you?"
Damien grinned and leant forward in his chair, while Cartman stayed silent.
"You've felt pain all of your life because of your family," Damien started. "You've grown up with a mother who, even though it was clear she adored you, spent a lot of her time with various different men and doing drugs. You never had a father figure, either, not even an older brother to look up to. You always acted as though you couldn't care less, that it didn't affect you at all. But it did, didn't it? You can't fool me, Eric, like you fool everyone else."
"Shut your fucking mouth," Cartman snapped. "You don't know anything."
"Oh, I don't? Well, I suppose all of that, and all about Craig and Trent was just something I guessed, was it?" Damien smirked. "There's no use lying to me, Eric. It doesn't work."
Cartman looked down at the table, and stayed silent.
"You've spent so much of your life worrying about her, too. Not only is this causing you to feel pain in yourself, but you also feel pain for her. You worry that her way of living is just going to result in her dying young. Yet, what I don't understand is... Why don't you just tell her this?"
"What?" Cartman said, looking back up at Damien.
"She is just making life harder for both you and her, and yet, you don't talk to her about it. But why haven't you?"
"Well, it's obvious I can't!"
"Is there anything stopping you?" Damien asked. "She's your mother, and it's clear that despite how she lives herself, she loves you."
"But, I-"
"You can, and that's the only way you can stop her."
Cartman nodded slowly, and Damien could see that his words have gotten through to him.
"There's one little last thing though, isn't there?" Damien said, slightly smiling.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean a girl with long black hair, quite a high intelligence, with a slight temper. I believe she goes by the name Wendy?"
"What about her?" Cartman said quickly.
"The fact that you've not had the courage to tell her how you feel since your little crush on her when you first started high school?" Damien chuckled. "That Butters kid was right, Eric. Just tell her."
Damien sat up straighter, and looked at Cartman thoughtfully.
"But the thing is, I'm not just here to help you with your problems. Normally, in all honesty, I don't give a shit. But, I'm helping you so you will start to treat Pip better. This is much more permanent, because there is always a reason why you mortals do what you do. I haven't helped you just so you can go back to how you treated Pip before. I need to have your word that you will never bully Pip again. I can assure you, if you do, there will be consequences."
"You have my word," Cartman said a few moments later, and Damien knew that it was the truth. He reached out his hand to Cartman, and the two of them shook hands. Cartman didn't seem surprised when a flash of fire formed around their hands.
"Remember; never go back on your word from tonight."
"I won't."
Damien rose out of the chair without another word, but Cartman spoke again before he disappeared. They were two simple words he definitely didn't expect to hear.
"Thank you."
In the next chapter, I shall be going back to Pip's point of view. So, this is what happened after Cartman went home. Damien did his usual tricks!
So does this mean the story will be ending soon? In a few chapters, yes. I won't be continuing this for much longer. Maybe two or three chapters more? I have a few things I need to write, but if I get hit with a brilliant idea, I might continue it for a little longer than that.
Also, to any Harry Potter fans out there, I am highly considering rewriting my old fanfiction 'Another Side of Draco Malfoy', which was both my first multi-chaptered fanfiction on here and also my most popular, despite its many errors due to me being younger and less mature. I want to write it all differently, though I should be keeping to the basic sort of story of it. I won't be replacing the chapters, either, I would post it as a new story so the old one is still there.
So, if you like Harry Potter, and particularly ship Drarry (Draco and Harry), you may enjoy this rewrite!
Anyway, thank you for reading, as usual. And thanks for 50 reviews! That's the highest amount of reviews I've had on a story since ASoDM! I would appreciate it if you continued to review! It keeps me motivated to write c:
