SerenaxDarien-skip this if you're wanting a SerenaxSeiya-scroll to the page break for that...
How long had the concert been going on? How long would it go on? Sounds of many sorts reached into Darien's ears. From back stage, you could see the fans up close if you looked through the lights. Girls reached out towards the stage screaming as if it were life or death. Body guards were lined at the base of the stage. One girl had already been escorted out as she tried to climb over the burly guard. Some fans waved signs, some even cried tears of joy as they saw their idols of infatuation.
Darien hated crowds. He hated loud noises. He'd rather be locked in his room alone listening to Bach on his stereo. His eyes glanced down at the woman beside him. What were her thoughts? For a moment, doubts began to resurface. Why had they come to the concert in the first place? Was it out of guilt for how she treated Seiya to come...or was her heart battling the decision over who she loved still?
A hand slithered into his lap and tightly grasped onto his clenched one. Blue eyes turned to look at him. A smile was on her face. It was like she knew. "After this, can we get some ice cream at the arcade?"
It was hard not to kiss her. Ice cream?! He'd give her anything she wanted as long as she was there with him.
The songs continued to play, but finally, the lights were lowered. Seiya, turning his eyes on Serena, spoke into the microphone,"This song is dedicated to a very special lady in our lives. We have been searching for her for a very long time...hoping one day...we will be able to find her. Every trial we have faced has been worth it...as long as we get to see her smile again..."
Was this finally the goodbye they had waited for? Serena felt her tears moisten. Would they finally be able to find their princess? Would she and Darien be able to find a way home to their own kingdom? This time travel had certainly been an adventure, but it was also a humbling experience. It made her realize just how much she yearned for home.

The three Starlights took their final bow. The throngs of fans had cleared out quickly. It was over. Midnight. Only an arena filled with trash and popcorn and discarded papers were left. The lights had been turned off, the band packed up. The Starlights sat on the stage, side by side. Their legs dangled off of the edge.
"Well...good concert, guys..." Taiki murmured. He cracked his knuckles. It was a nervous habit he had developed over the months on earth. Quite annoying, the other lights thought.
Yaten had a look of apprehension from his eyes. He looked tired. They all looked tired. "Yeah, Taiki, we did good..." Though he spoke the truth, his heart was filled with disappointment.
It was discouraging. Sepia had finally lost his cool. Standing to his full height, he spoke up,"I am tired of this. We sing our best, nothing. We work and sweat, nothing. We do this every week! We have been on this miserable planet for months and we have nothing to show for it. Where is she?!"
"Calm down, Seiya. It will happen...soon...I was just hoping tonight, I felt it. I knew it." Yaren't own words discouraged him.
A sound of steps caused the three to turn. All of their heads turned, a look of hope in their eyes. Surely, at their darkest, dawn would come. Was it her?
Serena crossed her arms in front of her chest as she saw all eyes on her,"Hi, guys..."
"Look what the cat drug in,"Yaiten mocked.
Seiya looked directly at her. He wasn't exactly sure what to feel. A part of him wanted to smile, the other turn away from all of the hurt. He had been rejected by her, right? The hopes of finding their princess had eased any type of pain that Serena could cause...but now? "You're still here, dumpling?"
"I wanted to see you before-"
"...seems we are going to be around for awhile...she isn't here..." Taiki flung the words over his shoulder. A look of sadness rested on his face.
Seiya took her arm, walked her away from the lights. His eyes scanned the area. "...where is he? I know he wouldn't leave you with me alone..."
"He is waiting for me at the front," she Replied. She could feel his hand tighten on her arm. This had already been done. Did they really have to do this again?
Seiya towered over her. "She didn't come, Sailor Moon. Can you tell me why? Would she be that selfish? You're a Queen, would you leave your guardians hanging around? All we have done is protect her. Why wouldn't she come?"
"...I did leave my guardians...and a kingdom full of people...when I made a rash decision to come here."
"...but why when you have so many looking to you?"
"Because I'm human, Seiya, and even a Queen can make a mistake. I wouldn't change it now...coming back Or seeing you...I have learned many things...I've grown...and I've realized the bigger picture isn't always about me and that this," she whispered as she touched her heart,"this matters."
"Emotions? Feelings? I've had enough of those to last me a lifetime from this horrible planet." He shook his head. "It doesn't make sense...why wouldn't she come for us? We've worked so hard. Is she abandoning us? Is she not searching for us hard enough?"
"Love matters, Seiya. Your princess has not forgotten about you. Maybe your princess is waiting for the perfect moment, but it hasn't come."
He threw his hands up in frustration,"Love, Serena? I don't believe in love anymore. If there is one thing I have learned from this life on earth, it is that I desire my world. I use to dream of earth...not anymore...all I want is her...to protect her..."
Tears threatened his eyes. Another presence joined them. Darien, with his hands in his pockets, slowly walked towards them. The singer wiped his eyes and didn't hide his frustration,"I didn't touch her, Cape Boy."
Serena bit her lip from his sour words. Guilt began to restrict her heart again. The damage she had caused! "Seiya-"
"Its going to be okay," Darien looked directly at Seiya.
"And why should I believe you? Your life is perfect. You have it all...I lost everything..."
Darien scratched the back of his head and kept his voice as calm as possible,"My life isn't perfect. Fate threw me a curveball and all I wanted to do was miss it and have a peaceful world. That didn't happen. I had to pull myself together and keep going after what I wanted. This entire episode of life has taught me that there is nothing I desire more than my duty in life...my love of others... If I love it, I have to fight for it."
"Go back to Crystal Tokyo, rule your kingdom, and quit making my life miserable."
"We don't know how," Serena whispered,"You're not the only one who Feels lost."
"I just...want...her...more than this earth, more than love, more than this life..."
.
.
.
Empty. That was how he felt. Oh, he had fallen in love with Serena. She had been put on a pedals tool in his heart. As much as he didn't wantto admit it, she had become a distraction. From sun up until sun down, all he had thought about was her. The golden locks, her sweet smile.
Things changed. A look of regret washed over his face. He had become so consu,Ed with her, he had forgotten his purpose. He had loved her, but now he knew the love for his princess was greater.
.
.
.
Shouts were heard within seconds. Seiya braced himself. An enemy? What more could this evening bring? Rushing to the front stage, he froze in his steps. Yaiten and Taiki, eith tears of joy, were kneeling before the one they had searched for. Their princess!
"...y-you're here..." Seiya whispered.
Like a swan on the water, she walked towards her beloved protector,"I heard your song, Seiya, and I heard your words...every word...I have come for you."
A normal guardian would bow. Not Seiya. Filled with joy, he threw his arms around her. A blush crept on her cheeks from the brash move. She was one of elegance and grace, never had her warriors shown affection before. "M-my lady!"
Forgetting himself, he bowed,"I'm so grateful you're here..."
"I am sorry I did not come sooner, but there were things I wanted you to learn. My guardians protect me with their hearts of love, but if their hearts are elsewhere...I cannot Bind their desire to me...it was my wish for you to be happy in every way...even if that meant earth. But now I know-"
"I have no other desire than to protect you," he murmured.
Finally. She was here. They could return to their lives. They could live in happiness. Seiya turned to his dumpling once more. This was it. Now he understood. He understood it all. The way she loved Darien, the way she loved her people. "It was a fun time, right?"
Serena nodded,"Good luck, Seiya..."
Darien placed his arm around her securely, his eyes watching the scene before him. The princess, turning towards the green jacketed college student bowed,"King Endymion, Queen Serenity, thank you for guiding me to my guardians."
"Wha?"
"The silver crystal's pure light helped me to find you...it's light had mysteriously shown as bright as the sun and drew my interests...I followed it and soon learned why it shown so bright. It also helped me learn the true desire of your heart. I never would want you trapped in a duty you despised...I want you happy," she smiled.
"Trust me...we are more than ready to go home...and more than ready to serve you, Princess..." Yaten smirked as he slowly raised from his knee.
"...lets go home..." It happened so fast. With a nod, the star lights said their final goodbye. The concert had been a success. The guardians would return to their beloved planet where it was their desire to be. Not just a duty.

Screech, screech, screeeeeeech.
It was unbearable. If she scraped that spoon across the side of the ice cream dish one more Time.
Screeeeeeeech.
"Bunny, it's empty. Its gone. I will gladly buy you another ice cream, but please stop making that noise!" Darien had placed his cup of coffee on the booth table.
Serena looked up innocently,"Well, Darien, there was still some on the side. You don't want me to waste your $3.99, do you?" As if to prove a point, she drug the spoon across the side of the bowl once more with a look of challenge in her eyes.
Screeeeeeech.
It took only a moment before a very tired Darien began to assail her with words. He bit his tongue before he continued,"Serena, you're such a..."
"Yessssss?"
He couldn't help but laugh. Resting his head on his folded hands, he sighed,"You have been your formal self Serena too long...your eating, your sarcasm, it's all back...will I see Serenity soon..?"
Digging money from his pocket, he threw a few bills on the table for a tip. It was past two am and he was ready to crash. Serena automatically wrapped her arm in the crook of his arm. The two left the arcade and began to walk towards his apartment. Good thing her parents thought she was sleeping over at Molly's! They would skin Darien alive!
"What if you don't see that Serenity again...is that a bad thing?" She looked up at him.
Was this a trick question? He loved Serenity. If he could describe her, he would say she was peaceful and calm. She had the manners of a duchess and was agreeable to him always. She obeyed and revered him as King. As beautiful as she was, he realized she never smiled anymore.
When was the last time he had seen his Queen actually smile? Or laugh gaily from joy?
And Serena? She was clumsy. She was opinionated and stubborn. She argued with all of his decisions. She laughed loudly and ate like a horse. She was also full of joy and could make anyone smile. She was full of love.
Darien had taken to long to answer. They had arrived back at the apartment and he had been to busy contemplating her question. "...I will never be the same, not after this..."
He shut the door. Placed his keys on the coffee table. His green jacket was slid off and placed on the back of his chair. Turning around, he looked at her. Anger erupted from her heart,"I can't be perfect, I will never be! If you can't love me for who I am-"
"I do love you," he barked. His long frame was across the room in an instant. Gone was the exhaustion. "I do love you," he repeated as his hands grasped her upper arms.
"But-"
"My Serenity was an obedient wife because she was fearful of me. Somehow, I Became so wrapped up in a perfect kingdom...I forgot to live...I forgot to love..." His fingers traced the contour of her jaw. "I love you. Not a name, not a title, not a way you act. I love you. I had to come here to realize that. I won't lose you again. If you want to eat ice cream, eat it. If you desire a party just for the laughter, have one. If you want to yell at me because I'm bullheaded and I did so,ething wrong, do it! I love you, Serena, Serenity, whoever the hell you want to be...just be mine..."
"Endymion..." And she melted into a kiss. There wasn't nothing more she wanted than to be his. His tongue met with hers. A sigh escaped the back of her throat. It felt like someone had turned a furnace on in the apartment.
Emotion raged in her heart. As good as it felt, they didn't have time for this! "Oh, Endy, how will we get home to Crystal Tokyo?"
His lips pressed against hers once more,"I'm not sure..." Kissed the corner of her mouth. "And right now...I really don't care...as long as we are together..."
Two hearts beat as one as they once more remembered why they fell in love.
Two bodies came together to show just how much they cared.
Two slept peacefully, unsure of how they would get home to the future.

.
Seiya x Serena-for SxS fans! Darien lovers, be warned😨
.
.
.
Could anyone notice how red she was? Serena patted down her skirts and checked her buttons on her shirt for the fifth time. Her heart still beat wildly in her chest. So much adrenaline, so much need, so much love.
Music began to play over the loud speakers. She took her seat and listened. Every so often, she would see Seiya look directly at her. Red would color her face all over again. She was suppose to come and say goodbye. They had done much, much more than that.
It was their last night together. Will I get to say goodbye? Will I even meet their princess? Can time please just stop? I don't want it to move. I'm not ready to go back. My heart screams for him, but my mind reminds me it's not ment to be. Fate, why are you against me?
A slithering caused Serena to turn around. Her blue eyes widened at what she saw. A woman with scales formed on her body smirked at her. Eyes glowed red as she smoothly came beside her chair,"Hello, Sailor Moon..."
.
.
.
It didn't take long for Serena to snap out of her fantasy world. Within a few moments, she had already transformed. Fans who held backstage passes had already began screaming as the phage circled around them.
"Where is your ticket?" The large body guard who had escorted Serena in now stared at the reptiles creature. She was rather small compared to his vast size. His arms were crossed against his chest and a smirk was on his face. "I've seen some weird drunks in my day, but you have got to be the ugliest-"
Some type of venom shot out of the woman's hand. It stuck like glue to the bodyguard's mouth. Slowly, he fell to his knees. Her laugh sent chills down Serena's spine. "Didn't your mother teach you manners?"
He struggled. Little by little, his movements got smaller.
"Your Fight is with me! What did you do to him?!" Serena jumped in front of the man. Her heart began to beat rapidly. Did the scouts get her call? How long until they showed up?
The phage smirked,"He is poisoned...he will slowly drift into unconsciousness...and eventually die." Another bone chilling laugh.
.
.
.
They knew something was wrong. Fans had began to break apart. Some were running out the doors, others pointing wildly to the stage. They had practiced, surely they didn't sound that bad? The music was too loud for them to hear the words being screamed. Seiya turned just in time.
His heart jumped out of his chest. She needed him. With his eyes glancing at his friends, he called to transform.
.
.
.
"Just give me that pretty little crystal and we will be just fine," The phage warned. she circled Sailor Moon like a reptile Would. It looked as if they were dancing slowly with one another.
She kept her eyes focused. Most of the crowds had disappeared. But what about Seiya? Was he gone and out of harm's way?
"Sailor Moon!" Sailor Star Fighter was right by her side in an instant. His eyes studied her. She looked fine.
"The guard! I need to get to him, can you distract her for a bit?" Serena whispered.
Seiya smiled. A distraction? "Hey, I bet you would look great as a pair of boots...can I try you on for size? I would enjoy skinning you alive..." Seiya zipped in front of the monster.
A challenging smile grew on the reptile's face. Her hand extended out towards him,"Would you like to try?"
.
.
.
Good job, Seiya! Serena dashed from the scene. Sailor Moon held the guard gently and ripped the venom from his mouth. Smoke seeded Her glove as she did. It burned! A cough. A choke. A deep breath. A sigh of relief washed over her as she saw the guard open his eyes. It wasn't too late!
"You'll be just fine..." She smiled and helped him sit up.
.
.
.
Seiya continued to dive around the ground from the reptile. This was a fun game! He bet the sailor guardians had a lot of fun with these villains! Laughter rose in his chest as he callies to the reptile,"Over hereeeee."
The joy was short lived. Running backwards, Seiya tripped over a chair from the stage. His arms shot back and forth wildly as if he tried to gain his balance. It didn't work. crashing to the ground, his head hit the wooden floor.
"...this will only take a minute..." the snake smiled. A rope caught her attention. Lifting it from its box, the reptile threw it around the Starlight's body. It felt constricting just like a snake. Tighter and tighter, it twisted around Seiya until his breaths were short. "...and you will watch firsthand how she dies..."
Tying odd the knot, the phage shoved him hard to the floor.
Serena was too distracted with the guard. The burly man pointed but couldn't find his voice. "Youll be fine, really."
"But you won't," a hiss came. Arms wrapped around Sailor Moon's front as the reptile embraced her from the back. One hand grasped her hand tightly and the other jerked her hair to where her neck was exposed. "I want that crystal, Sailor Moon, and I want it now."
"I'll never give it to you! You're nothing but a demon!" Her teeth clenched tightly. It felt as if there was no escape.
She smiled. Her hands came across the locket on her brooch. "...and what is this...?" Ripping her hand from her hair, she pulled the locket from her uniform.
.
.
.
"Haven't you ever heard that stealing is a crime?" Tuxedo Mask had jumped onto the stage with his cane in his hand. He studied the scene before him. Did the phage really do all this?
Serena shook her head,"My locket! Get my locket!"
"You shut up," the reptile warned. Shooting venom from her hand, she pointed it at Sailor Moon. With the locket now in her hand, she laughed as the weak Sailor Moon fell to the ground from her poison. "Just like a snake bite...the bite, then the slow trickling of the venom...then...death..."
"DUMPLING, GET ME OUT OF HERE, CAPE BOY!" Darien turned to see Seiya in ropes. His head lashed back to see the reptile running with Serena's locket. Stretching out his cape, he helped the Starlight out of the tightening ropes.
The two stared at one another. Groans could be heard from Serena. Both frantically looked back and forth. Who would save her? Was it pride? "She told you to get the locket."
"...that is my wife-"
"Who is being poisoned at the moment, get the damn locket and I will get her!" Seiya spat in a roar. Tuxedo Mask complied. His body took a large breath. At least he could breath again!
His hand burned as he ripped the venom from Serena's mouth. He let out a gut wrenching yell. Seiya watched her closely. Her chest took a deep breath, her eyelids lifting quickly. "You scared me, dumpling...!"
A thud caused them both to turn. By her hand rested her locket. Sailor Moon searched. Where was Tuxedo Mask? Grasping her locket, she pinned it back to her chest. Where was the reptile?!
Another mischevious chuckle caused the hair to raise on their neck. It had gotten quiet...and where was Darien?
"Where is Tuxedo Mask?" Standing to her full form, she looked around. Her heart thudded like a hammer against a wall.
"He is occupied at the moment," she snarled. Lifting a cane at them, she threw it to the ground. Seiya stood in front of Serena with his eyes wide. Boy, was he ready to fight this joker!
Both of the Warriors kept their eyes glued to the snake as if they were in a trance. Without them knowing, the reptile had caused a beam from the stage to become lose. All she had to do was drop it and watch them die. It would be so fun!
Darien opened his eyes. Ropes were wrapped around his body. Venom covered his mouth and he could feel his insides twisting from the pain. It didn't take long for him to realize the bean was empty. As much strength as he had, he lunged himself towards them.
The beam collapsed.
Tuxedo Mask had broken the ropes just in time. His cape, covering Seiya and Sailor Moon, protected them from the falling beam as its full impact landed on his back. A gut wrenching scream was heard.
"That ruined my plans-"
.
.
.
"MERCURY BUBBLES-BLAST!"
The other scouts joined them. The phage within minutes had been knocked unconscious. Serena felt like she was in a nightmare. Calling for healing was done, but her mind was elsewhere.
Her eyes were glued on Seiya and Tuxedo Mask. Seiya had ripped the venom from his face, but his eyes were closed. His breathing shallow. Finally, she rushed to his side.
"Endymion? Endy, she's gone, you can wake up now," she whispered. Kneeling beside him, she grasped the lapels of his coat and shook him. Blue eyes slowly opened and looked into hers.
A gloved hand touched her cheek and his voice was raspy,"You're beautiful, Serenity, and your heart is so pure-"
"What is wrong wih you? Sit up!" She tried to pull him up but he groaned. It all dawned on her. The beam...it had fallen...and he had covered her? No...Seiya had her...he had protected her...she could feel his arms around her at the time...wait...She had seen the black.
Seiya whispered,"I had grabbed you before the beam hit...but Darien covered both of us." Had he read her mind?
Darien lifted his hand and grabbed Sailor Moon's hand tightly,"I love you, but I can't be with you anymore. It's too late. I feel the poison...inside of me-"
"...enough talk, I can heal you with-"
"No, Sailor Moon, its too late..." A loud cough, blood slowly began to trickle from the corner of his lips.
Tears cascaded down her cheeks,"You can't do this to me. I thought this was suppose to be a happy ending?! Why would fate do this just for you to die?!" Her head rested on his chest for a moment. Even if her heart had turned away from him, it was never a desire to see him like this!
"Fate always has a better plan, love," he whispered. Slowly, Tuxedo Mask lifted Serena's hand and Seiya's together at the same time. With his last strength, he combined their hands. "...love her like I couldn't..."
Sailor Moon grasped Seiya's hand tightly, her head resting on the King's chest,"I'm so sorry, Endy, for hurting you so-"
"...promise me...you will protect her..." His eyes rested on Seiya.
"Endymion?..."
"Youre forgiven, Serenity...I will always love you..." A smile. She got a smile. Slowly, his eyes closed. Sailor Moon curled herself into a ball and wept like a child.
.
.
.
Yaten and Taiki stood side by side with their princess. A solemn look rested upon them. It had taken so long to bring her here. All of their work had finally paid off. Seiya closed his eyes as he stood face to face with his princess.
"I can read all of your thoughts, Seiya, and I have seen all of your actions."
He lowered his eyes to the ground. Only three hours after the phage battle, their princess had arrived. How many rules had he broken? Yaten and Taiki had told him to stay focused, but he had failed miserably. Not only did he neglect his duties, he had fallen in love with a Moon Queen.
Love was forbidden as a Starlight. Their only job, their duty, was to protect the princess at all costs. To desire her and her alone. With love for another, it would only taint their thoughts. One single moment of a distraction of another, could mean their princess' life because of a failure to concentrate. The enemy could have so much power.
"I do not have any regrets, my lady."
"I saw you save a life, Seiya, more than once in fact. That is noble."
He smirked,"You have been watching me, huh? You'd probably see a lot more things I've done-"
Yaten and Taiki but the insides of their cheek from laughing. Was he actually joking around with their princess? Maybe they had been on earth much too long. A smile rested on her face,"You love her."
Seiya lowered his eyes,"It was never my intention, but I did. I love her. I can't live without her..."
Wasn't there suppose to be a punishment for this? He closed his eyes and waited. Banishment...a punishment perhaps? He was ready to denounce it all. All he wanted was Serena. Nothing could change that.
The princess walked closer to him and lifted his chin with her finger,"I can see it in your eyes, Seiya. It is a bright love. One that shines stronger than your desire towards me. This cannot be allowed..."
"I accept full responsibility for my actions and am ready to receive a punishment if given." He lowered on his knee, his head bowed.
The princess, for the first time, smiled,"You have served me faithfully, Seiya. You are released from your duties and free to love your Moon Queen."
Seiya's head jerked up...but it was too late. They were gone.
.
.
.
It was a quiet night. Serena sat on her bed. Her emotions ran wild. They had exhausted her physically and mentally. Darien was dead. Seiya's princess had returned. And she was still stuck in her past. What more could go wrong?
There Were no more tears. She didn't have the strength. Her arms were wrapped around her legs like a child. I feel so empty. Three bowls of ice cream dishes were scattered on her coffee table. A bag of chips were opened, but left untouched. Fate was cruel. I made a mistake, but why punish me by taking all I had away?
"Hey, Dumpling..."
"Seiya...!" Serena's heart leapt. There, in her bedroom window, was her love. She refused to move. Was this her mind playing a cruel trick?! Was she asleep already?! I'd she was, she didn't want to wake.
But when she felt the kiss, she knew it wasn't a dream. Seiya embraced her as if he were an anchor holding on to the bottom of the sea during a storm. Their lips touched over, their tears mingling with each other.
"But how...how are you here?!" She cried. She laughed. Drawing away from him, she pressed her hands to his chest.
A smile He gave her. He kissed the nape of her neck gently,"My princess saw that my love for you burned brighter than anything I believed in. I was relieved of my duties-"
"Oh, Seiya, your planet! Your princess!"
"...My duty...my desire...is you. I will follow you to hell and back...events the Moon if I have to...but I will never leave you again. I swear my allegiance to you. I will protect you...I will marry you...if you'll have me..."
"Yes, Seiya, always...please stay by my side...but how will we get home.."
"Lets worry about that tomorrow..."
Two came together for a passionate kiss. What was done in haste earlier, now slowed down time.
They took their time.
They made love.
They thanked fate for a second chance. Though there was sadness, there was a new day.
