- The Normandy, Citadel Docks –

"Jacob's dad did that for how long?" Feral looked up from his terminal, a shocked look on his face. His eyes now aimed at Tali who was sitting on their bed. On the way back from Haestrom, the Cerberus soldier had asked Shepard for a favour. Stopping at a back water planet called 2175 Aiea to look for any clue into why his father had gone missing 10 years ago. Now they were docked at the Citadel again and Tali had finally taken a break from the engine room.

She was sitting on the edge of the bed, clearly enjoying the feeling of finally being off her feet. "10 years….more or less. I'd rather not know the finer details. I feel bad for Jacob though, Cerberus or not it must be heart breaking to know your own father is a monster" She sighed, her shoulder sinking slightly as she looked out of the window into the depths of space. "I feel bad about complaining about my own father now."

Feral snorted as he turned back to his desk, talking over his shoulder at her as he continued tapping away. EDI silently working alongside him made the job twice as easy and just as fast. "Yeah well, Rael's an asshole. Not a monster." He stopped briefly to look back as he felt Tali glaring a hole in the back of his head. "What?" he shrugged "He's called me worse in standard and Quarian" Grinning gently when he saw Tali sigh and nod reluctantly. "But…he's still your dad so…sorry" Looking down at the floor before slowly turning back to the desk.

Tali smiled gently from behind her mask, she knew that Feral and her father had never gotten along but at least he was apologetic about it to her. "It's ok, thank you Feral." She watched him as he worked, smiling more at the way his lips moved when he thought to himself and the way his eyes randomly darted up to the ceiling every so often. Tilting her head slightly as she leant back onto her arms, laughing when Feral blew out a breath forcefully and leant back in his "All done?" it was a rhetorical question, the look on his face made the answer more than obvious.

Rolling his head back onto his shoulder before nodding, rolling his eyes as he shut down his terminal "Want to hazard a guess at who had the weirdest extranet search today?" Raising his eyebrows playfully at Tali, who sat up in response.

"Oh come on, it's Joker. It's always Joker." Tali laughed as she sat forward to rest her head on her hands. The look on Feral's face made her sit up again though "It wasn't Joker?" The confused look on her face was thankfully hidden by her mask as she weighed the pros and cons of asking who it was and what they searched for. "….who was it then?"

"Grunt" Feral stated simply before pushing himself up from his chair at the desk "He was looking for info on dinosaurs" He said with a straight face as he watched Tali look over across the cargo bay. The krogan was visible from there and eventually she just flopped back onto the bed. Unable to contain himself at that point Feral laughed as he watched Tali curl up onto the bed, pushing her helmet down into the sheets. "I'm going to the mess hall, I'm starving. Want anything?" He spoke between his snorts as he walked over to the door. He laughed again when Tali shooed him away with a flick of her wrist. He left his confused girlfriend to enjoy the peace and quiet of their shared quarters as he stepped out of his room and towards the elevator.

When the elevator arrived at the 2nd floor, the doors opened to the sound of Miranda and Kelly talking off to the sound. It was a private enough conversation but then most conversations weren't private with his over powered hearing. Feral wouldn't have paid any attention but the fact that both Shepard and Garrus were spoken in a rather distressed manner by Kelly made caught it anyway. He watched Miranda wave Kelly away before retreating to her overly luxurious office space as he headed to try and find something to eat. Her footsteps not going unnoticed by the super human as she walked towards him.

"I assume you over heard some of that" Kelly said to the back of Feral's head. The mess hall was mostly empty and the presence of one of Shepard's team members wasn't easily missed. "That would definitely explain why you haven't tried to hide from me this time." Feral didn't even need to look at her to hear the small grin on her face.

Straightening up with a small sigh, Feral spun on his heels and leant back onto the cupboards. "I only heard two words; typically speaking I filter out a lot of what I hear. Saves me from hearing really personal stuff, which is very rarely pleasant. However I do pay attention when I hear my friend's name being spoken, especially with a worried tone." His glare making Kelly shift slightly in her place, the thought that she had the upper hand in the conversation instantly removed from her mind. "What's going on?" his words spoken slowly and clearly.

Kelly shifted again in her place; she still wasn't used to Feral's demeanour when he was this serious; especially considering that there was no way around his questioning. Sighing as she quickly made sure no one else was within earshot, "I'm worried about Garrus, he received some news from the terminal in the CIC and….whatever it was it looked like it made him angry. I tried to find Shepard but Miranda said he's off helping Kasumi with something." Her eyes darting over to the weapons room, "It's actually kind of lucky you were here because I was coming to find you next."

"Yeah, lucky." Feral sighed as his eyes fixated on the doors to Garrus' room. "I assume he's still in there?" Pushing himself up onto his feet and walking slowly past Kelly after she nodded "Thanks for telling me Kelly, I owe you" closing his eyes and gritting his teeth the moment he finished that sentence.

"Does that mean we can talk at some point?" That annoying smirk was obviously back on her face from the sound of her voice.

Looking back over his shoulder at the grinning psychologist, "maybe, no promises Kelly." Feral could hear Kelly start to walk away before he spoke under his breath "and if you can find me" he grinned to himself as he walked up the steps to Garrus' quarters, through the doors he could already hear the Turian muttering to himself and the tell-tale clicking of a weapon being put through pre-mission checks.

Hitting his palm against the door's switch he was greeted with the all too familiar site of Garrus preparing his weapons, Feral stood there for a moment just watching him before the Turian even realised he was there. "Going somewhere Garrus?" His eyes carefully scanning the Turian for any tells or signs of what he planned, "with those?" adding to his previous question by pointing at his sniper rifle and pistol, combat ready and laid out on his bed. His stare narrowing when Garrus just sighed, stepping into the room and letting the door shut before he stood there with his arms folded.

Garrus stood up and his mandibles flared and clicked as he began to explain himself "I was going to wait for Shepard but this is too important, it cannot wait. I'm not going to miss him because Shepard was at a party." He went back to securing his thermal clips inside his armour, doing the final checks on his sniper's visor.

"Him?" Feral's voice made Garrus stop in his place, the sniper slowly turning to meet Feral's gaze "Oh god Garrus…Sidonis?" gritting his teeth as he spoke the name "Well you're definitely not going alone then. Go meet your source, radio me the location when you know. I need to get my gear" Feral almost growled out as he marched out of Garrus' quarters, the Turian would be gone before he was ready. So he'd make sure he was at least there for any of the shooting.

-The Citadel-

"I fucking hate Blue Suns I really, really do" Feral mumbled to himself, his complaints being drowned out by the copious amounts of gunfire rattling off the crate he was sitting behind. Garrus had called him and picked him up in a taxi. That had been about 30 minutes ago and now they were chasing Harkin, that shit of an ex-Csec officer, with a small army of Blue Sun's mercenaries between him and them. Garrus was starting to concern Feral was well, he was no stranger to revenge killing and Garrus was starting to relish the hunt a little too much. He wasn't above it himself, but Garrus wasn't him, and his desire to see Sidonis into an early grave was uncharacteristic of the Turian who once ran off to Omega to bring justice to an unjust station. Though right now he was just glad that his sights were aimed at the Blue Sun's that Feral was keeping occupied. Occasionally the human would dash from cover to cover, his shields soaking up gunfire while Garrus made the merc regret ever popping up from safety.

At last they were at the final room, Feral slowly advancing towards the door where he waited for Garrus to re-join him. Using the time to peak out into the large and empty looking warehouse, scanning for any signs of the ambush that was clearly waiting for them. Turning to look at the sniper who was doing the turian version of grinning "We've nearly got the bastard, then we'll have Sidonis and this whole mess will be over" Garrus growled through his teeth.

Feral watched as Garrus moved to the door before grabbing his arm and stopping him "Tell me this is about more than just revenge Garrus. This has to be more than just revenge." He glared at the turian before releasing his arm slowly.

"It is, it's about justice for the team Sidonis killed. You know me Feral." Garrus spoke back harshly, almost accusingly. His grip tightening on his rifle at the thought that Feral was questioning his judgement. He shrugged his shoulder away from Feral as he stormed out of the door, leaving Feral about to swear before biting his lip and quickly following after him into the warehouse. They barely moved two feet into the room before gunfire began pouring out of the woodworks. The pair split up immediately, ducking into separate corners of the huge room.

The ambush had been quick and rushed, they should've been dead or wounded but clearly this whole thing was created in a moment of panic. Something Feral knew how to twist to his advantage as he disappeared into the rafters. Moving low and quickly through the crates to pick off the men one by one, as the cries of dissent started to ring out through the room. Short bursts of gunfire filled the air, the sounds following a path through the ambush's position. Garrus had managed to find a raised position and it reminded him of the short time the two had spent on Omega together, if he and his team ever came to a position they couldn't take on effectively. He'd ask Feral for help, and if Feral could answer that call; he and his team could only watch as he vanished and then reappeared within minutes to call the all clear.

In truth Garrus was only able to get off a few shots, he hadn't even seen how many men Feral had taken out from behind the amount of cover the warehouse provided. Though he still didn't expect the hand on his shoulder and the low growl beside his head "Revenge turns you into a monster Garrus…..I should know" Feral's almost blank stare and his whisper pulled Garrus back into reality. Few people could ever sneak up on Garrus, and two of the only ones he knew could were on board the Normandy. "Come on, Harkin's up there" The super soldier spoke again, before the two of them began to walk through the warehouse again. Giving Garrus his first view of the silent carnage that had occurred behind the scenes.

Bodies were slumped over where they had been in cover, some of them had never even seen it coming and most cases there wasn't even any blood. Sometimes Garrus forgot just what a monster Feral could be, and he even began to wonder how much he was holding back around everyone else. Garrus shook it from his mind, it didn't matter right now. Harkin was ahead and Sidonis was coming in sight, however the sound of Harkin's voice over a sound system wasn't what he wanted to hear. The two men quickly ducking down behind the nearest cover to them.

"I'm not running from you Garrus!" Harkin taunted, visible from his position overlooking the warehouse. The sound of gears whirring and clunking vibrating through the giant room, Feral suddenly groaning and swearing loudly as two YMIR mechs were lowered towards the open ground ahead of them.

"You take the one of the left and I take the one on the right?" Feral turned back towards Garrus and shrugged as the two war machines whirred into life, a small grin on his face as the two men shared a slightly annoyed expression before bolting off and ducking down as the first wave of rapid fire mass effect driven rounds flew into the crates and metal around them. Garrus only managed to catch Feral's feet kicking against the floor as he pushed away and underneath the rafters. Taking the same idea, and pushing himself into the greater cover that the rafters provided, silencing that sniper instinct to take to the higher ground, against such firepower it probably wouldn't benefit him anyway. He moved until he could put up his rifle aiming through the beams and began to put high powered rifle rounds straight into the YMIR mechs head, overloading it's shielding as best as he could from within the confines of his hiding place.

Even surrounded by construction beams and crates the off round was finding its way in his direction, bouncing off the metal around him and off his shielding. YMIR's were tough, and difficult to take out as a group, let alone by yourself. He was beginning to wonder how Feral was fairing when the side of the YMIR mech attacking him exploded, and a hail of gunfire ripped apart its shields. Using the sudden distraction Garrus was able to put a round straight through its head, the mech sinking to its knees before crumbling into a heap with a loud crash before the another loud crash signalled the other went down.

When Garrus pulled himself out, he was greeted by the site of Feral straddling the YMIR's shoulders as it laid face down into the floor. Various panels torn open and wiring clearly ripped and tampered with. The human just laughed as he sat up and stood on the YMIR "Come on, let's go get Harkin" He grinned, his distaste in Garrus' attitude subdued by the thrill of making on YMIR attack another by hacking it while being shot at had clearly given him the desired adrenaline rush. Garrus silently wished it would keep Feral off his back, though he doubted it; sometimes his moods switched so quickly it was hard to keep track.

The super soldier was still quietly giggling to himself when he hopped off and both he and Garrus started moving to close in on Harkin; who was currently quickly typing at his computer trying to delete the most important cliental data he had. He didn't know why two of Shepard's hounds were hunting him but he would be damned if they managed to find anything out on some people he had helped get into hiding. He couldn't help but wonder in the back of his mind why Shepard himself hadn't shown up, the bastard probably thought he was beneath him or something. It didn't matter anyway, he was finished with the data purging and just in time.

Feral was coming in through the day his pistol raised straight at him. Those blood red eyes staring right at him, Harkin could only smirk and taunt the man as he began to run to the other door "You were close! But not close enough!" turning only to find the butt of Garrus' rifle slamming into his cheek and nose. Crying out as the metal struck him, grabbing the afflicted area of his face before a talon gripped him around his throat. Grunting loudly when his back was slammed into a wall, the pain in his face dissipating.

"So Fade…" Garrus growled out, his forearm holding Harkin to the wall as Feral stood to one side; his pistol back in its holster "…couldn't make yourself disappear, huh?" The soft steps to the side filling the tense air as Feral paced back and forth as he watched the two talk it out.

Harkin smirked, relaxing slightly in Garrus' hold "Come on Garrus, we can work this out" it was debateable he was too relaxed, Garrus wasn't the blue collar he used to be and Feral inwardly groaned at Harkin's mistake "Whaddaya need?" but to Feral's small surprise he released his hold on Harkin, though to be honest Feral was always a little sloppy at negotiation.

Garrus turned around and looked down into the warehouse, assuming the position Harkin had once stood in during their fire fight minutes ago "I'm looking for someone" he stated, making it as plain for Harkin to understand as he could.

Harkin dusted his arms off, that same cocky smirk on his face as he looked at the back of Garrus' head "Well then I guess we both have something the other wants." And the cocky attitude was starting to annoy Feral as well, Garrus saw him shifting around with a distasteful look on his face as he spun on the spot. Walking up to Harkin before swiftly bringing his knee up into the man's crotch, dropping him in a small coughing fit in a heap on the floor.

Feral inwardly winced, despite Harkin getting what he deserved a kick in that area made most human men flinch, as he stepped over and knelt down onto one knee "I think what he's trying to say is that we're not here to ask favours Harkin, you're going to help us and that's it." Feral grabbed him by the collar and dragged him up onto his feet again, letting him lean against the wall. "Word is, you make people disappear. We want you to make one reappear" He stood back again, letting Garrus take over.

"A Turian" Garrus spoke immediately as the last word left Feral's lips "named Sidonis" the venom that dripped from the sniper's tongue made Feral look at him from the corner of his eyes. There again was that undertone, that rasping desire to take a life that he'd not heard come from Garrus since Dr. Heart. Feral remembered the story of how Garrus took that case far too personally, and it nearly ended in catastrophe.

Harkin's grin dropped and he growled through his teeth "Yeah I know him, and I ain't telling you squat!" the man was still slightly hunched over, but the pain was obviously subsiding from the tone he was taking.

"Seriously?" Feral looked back and forth between him and Garrus "You're going to protect this guy even with a moody Turian and a psychopath standing in front of you and freedom?" He grinned, his fingertips twitching over and playing with the handle of the knife strapped to his chest. The super soldier blinking as Garrus glared at him, shrugging his shoulders and mouthing 'What?' back at him.

Harkin leant back against the wall, distancing himself from Feral as much as he could and noticeable looking at the man play with the shaft of his blade. "I don't give out client information, it's bad for business ok?!" His angry tone suddenly replaced by another grunt as Garrus knocked him to the floor, slamming his foot into the man's neck.

Feral could only watch again, his fingers gripping onto his knife as he considered that he may have to stop Garrus from killing Harkin "You know what else is bad for business?" The Turian growled out loudly as he looked down, his foot squeezing on Harkin's throat "A broken neck!" Garrus almost roared, his voice becoming impatient and his mandibles flaring out wildly.

Feral was about to step in when Harkin cried out "All right! All right! Just get off of me!" his arm's raised defensively as Garrus pulled back. "Terminus really changed you huh Garrus…" He groaned as he slowly pushed himself onto his knees and began to stand up.

"No but…" both Harkin and Feral looked at Garrus this time, the look of concern was only in Feral's eyes this time "Sidonis opened my eyes…." Feral squinted slightly as Garrus looked down, his mandibles closed in on his mouth and he almost looked…sad "Now arrange a meeting!" at once that guilty, upset look was replaced with rage. Feral just watched him; it was a look he knew all too well. He'd seen it in the mirror, he knew what it was like to lose a team due to complacency. This time Feral turned away, Cerberus had been his trigger into insanity and murder; this was Garrus', his revenge for his team could push him beyond the limit. He could hear Harkin move to a terminal and he quickly looked over his shoulder, making sure Garrus was watching the man arrange the meeting. The sniper's gaze fixated, Feral made his move and lit up his omni-tool.

Garrus couldn't stop the grin forming on his face as he watched Harkin work, his eyes watching the terminal closely as 'Fade' and Sidonis set up the meeting. His talons were stroking the grip of his pistol as he imagined the moment over and over in his head. Sidonis, finally dead, and his team members avenged. Justice at last.

Both Garrus and Feral turned when Harkin began to speak, Feral's eyes flicking down and spotting Garrus' twitchy finger on the pistol that he no longer had holstered. "All right, it's settled. He wants to meet you in front of the Orbital Lounge at mid-day". Harkin looking nervously between the two in front of him before looking at the door over his shoulder "So if we're done I'll just be going…" gasping as a talon suddenly lashed out and gripped him by the scruff of his suit.

Garrus tugged him close, glaring right into his eyes as he growled "I don't think so." His grip becoming tighter on Harkin's collar "You're a criminal now" Feral didn't even need to use his overly sensitive hearing to hear Garrus' breath become rough and ragged, he could practically hear his blood boiling.

"So what? You're going to kill me?" Harkin sneered back, the two glaring wildly at each other "That's not your style Garrus, never was." Feral did see the look of relief flash over the man's face however as Garrus released his grip, he'd never admit it either but the same look flashed over his own face as well.

Though that quickly changed when Garrus pulled up his pistol and aimed at Harkin's leg "Though I don't mind slowing you down a little" he snarled, his talon squeezing the trigger. Harkin jumped back as the shot rang out, the bullet impacting with the ceiling; Feral's arm tugging it up into the air before tearing it out of Garrus' hands. The super human glared at Garrus as the two stood apart from each other.

Harkin just laughed behind Feral, the super human's shoulders raising and lowering as he silently seethed; glaring Garrus down. "Guess I owe you one super boy" he grinned at the brown hair covering the back of Feral's head before patting his shoulder. Feral suddenly turning and slamming his forehead straight into Harkin's knocking him down, and out, instantly.

Feral turned back to face Garrus, the two staring each other down before Feral spun the pistol in his hand and held it out for him to take back. The turian glaring back into his red eyes as he took it back. "What the hell were you thinking Garrus? We don't do this sort of thing, we don't kill unarmed men. That's not what you stood for on Omega!" he shouted finally at the turian "It's not what your team stood for either, are we here to kill Sidonis for them….or for you Garrus?" He snarled as he walked out of the room.

Garrus watched him before sighing loudly, looking down at Harkin's unconscious body. He was lucky, that shot could've killed him if the bullet had grazed the wrong side of the bone. Shaking his head as he tried to remember why he was doing this, to bring justice to the men Sidonis was responsible for killing. It wasn't about revenge, Sidonis just deserved to die. Taking one last look at Harkin "He better be there, or a head butt will be the least of your worries" he growled before he followed after Feral.

The walk back was quiet, Feral and Garrus said nothing to each other as they walked past the carnage they had caused on their way in. Blue Suns and mechs littered all over the warehouse. As they neared the entrance they had used, Feral's omni-tool lit up again and his eyes flicked down to read it before he shut it off. "Anything important?" Garrus asked him, Feral looking back briefly before the door ahead of them opened up and Garrus stopped in his steps.

"I'm sorry Garrus" Feral sighed as he looked back "but I am so not the right person to see you through this." He nodded as Shepard stood in the doorway with Tali and Kasumi. Feral stepped back to Garrus "I'm messed up and you know it. I'd try to keep you on the straight and narrow but in the end I've been where you now stand, and there's only one person in the world that can help you through this." He shrugged and sighed, his head dropping as he looked to the ground "Whatever happens, kill him or not. Don't cross the line between justice and revenge. You were there in that Cerberus base Garrus. You've seen what happens when that line gets crossed." For a split second Garrus swore he could see that base again, the blood and carnage that Feral had caused without even trying "and despite how I act…..there's no turning back if you do." Feral whispered that last sentence, turning from Garrus and heading towards Kasumi and Tali, leaving Shepard with Garrus to take one vehicle to the Orbital Lounge, while they took the other back towards the Normandy.

Kasumi took the helm of the car as Tali and Feral climbed into the back, Feral sighing and looking out of the window. Pressing one of his gloved hands into his lips as he thought over everything he had felt and seen during that mission. He was silently kicking himself, of course he should've waited for Shepard in the first place. He was just glad he'd managed to get a message through to Tali, she'd been waiting for Shepard's return and they immediately came straight to them. He assumed that's why Kasumi tagged along as well. The touch of a hand on his pulled him out of his thoughts, his eyes meeting the silvery orbs hidden behind a purple tinted visor.

"Are you ok?" Tali spoke quietly, looking away before looking back "….is Garrus going to be ok?"

Feral sighed loudly, he could even see Kasumi looking back. Despite her short time on the Normandy she'd clearly grown slightly affectionate of the Turian as well, at least in a drinking buddy, sharing mad stories sense. "I don't know…..but I know that if anyone can help him now it's Shepard" He smiled at Tali before he relaxed into the back of his seat. Closing his eyes as he tried to forget the same urges Garrus was feeling. That urge to let the beast within loose. Shepard saved him, Tali kept him under control but the truth was, deep down. If he was in Garrus' position, he'd have torn Harkin apart before doing the same to Sidonis; slowly…and he'd have loved every single second.
