September 28th - Abandoned Water Treatment Plant - 0610 Hours
As the group barged into the Water treatment plant two things immediately struck Jack O'Neill, first that the lights in the place were on, and two that there were several undead laying in the hallway they entered.
"Is anyone else unnerved by this place?" Daniel asked.
"I sure am." The young medic chimed in.
While the rest were talking Jack walked over to examine one of the dead zombies. Beside one of the bodies was a shell casing it was from a SIG PRO 2009 the same handgun Carlos Olivera was using.
"Hey Carlos," O'Neill began as he walked back over to his team. "Do all you guys with Umbrella use a SIG PRO 2009 as a sidearm?"
The Spaniard nodded. "It's the standard sidearm of the UBCS."
"Well then," He tossed the shell casing to Carlos. "Someone beat us here, anyone wanna take a guess who."
"Nicholai," Carlos said as he tossed the shell casing on the ground. "I want that Chingada Madre, we have to find him."
"We will, that bastard can't get away with everything he's put us through." Now he took a moment to survey their surroundings. It was a long hallway with a metal shutter right next to the door they come in, beside that was a keycard reader, the other end turned into another hall and there was a door just before the turn.
"Alright, we'll split into two teams. I'll take SG-1, Jill take Ferretti, Olivera, and Chambers. We'll check the door in this hallway you guys take the next hallway."
He took the radios from Teal'c and Carter, He handed one to Jill.
"Report in if you find anything."
"Will do Colonel." Jill took her team and disappeared around the bend.
SG-1 approached the door, He took the left, Carter the right, and Teal'c and Daniel out of the way. O'Neill flung the door open and Carter moved in.
"Clear."
In the room they found nothing but a bank of machinery and a desk. On the desk he found a key with a keycard attached.
"Colonel O'Neill come in." He activated his radio. "O'Neill here, what is it Jill?"
"We're about halfway down the hall but the path is blocked by a busted steam pipe. Is there anything where you are that might shut it down?"
"Carter?"
Sam looked around and approached a bank of levers on the right hand wall.
"I think this will do it sir, hang on." Carter turned one of the knobs.
"Did that do it?"
"Negative Colonel."
Carter tried another one and again it did nothing. On about the fifth try Jill spoke.
"That did it Colonel. We're moving on."
"Understood O'Neill out."
They explored the rest of the room and nothing else of value.
Back out in the hallway Jack took the key he'd found and tried the Keycard on the shuttered door but It didn't work.
"Damn I was sure that was the keycard we needed."
"It maybe sir."
"What does that mean Carter?"
"Think about the SGC sir, some of the cards we use can be changed to work many different doors if they're run through something that can re-write the information on the card. There may be something like that around and we just have to find it."
"Alright, I'll hang onto it." He put the key and card in his vest.
"Colonel, we've found a lift that leads down."
"We're on our way."
In just a few minutes they had joined Jills' team.
"Did you find anything?"
"Just a map and some kind of disk." Ferretti handed a computer disk to Carter. She looked it over.
"It just looks like a regular computer disk." "Alright, hang on to it Sam maybe we'll be able to find a way to access it."
"Yes sir." She put the disk in her vest.
O'Neill looked over the lift it didn't look like it would hold very many people, maybe four tops. There was also another door across from the one they came In through.
"The lift is small we'll go four at a time. The first group will be myself, Valentine, Olivera, and Teal'c. Once we've secured the area we'll send the lift back up."
The indicated people boarded the lift. The ride lasted just a few seconds, as soon as the lift came to a stop O'Neill opened fire on a Hunter that stood in the hall, it fell with a thud. As they stepped off the lift the moaning of the undead could be heard and it was coming closer.
"Damn, I guess Nicholai never came this way." Finally a group of zombies lumbered into view and his group opened fire. Within minutes the zombies were dead and the rest of the group joined them.
It was dark down here apparently the lights were working everywhere but here. O'Neill took a flashlight from his pocket and turned it on. There was nothing but a staircase at the other end. They descended the stairs and found themselves in a hallway with a collapsed roof blocking the hall and one door.
Through that door they found themselves in a sewer. Once they made sure the room was clear the team searched the room. The first thing they found was a stair case, O'Neill took Valentine and Teal'c down the stairs.
Jack scanned the room with his flashlight finding nothing but more equipment. This piece had a vile size hole in a machine that appeared to read something. It was all way over his head.
"There's nothing down here let's head back up." Teal'c and the STARS woman followed him back up the stairs. "You guys find anything?"
"Just this." Carter said.
O'Neill moved his flashlight so he could see Sam. She was holding a vile with some clear liquid in it.
"It appears to be a vile full of water." She explained.
"Just water?"
"It appears so sir, did you guys find anything?"
"Just some more machinery. You might take a look at it, maybe you can figure out what it does."
"Alright, I'll take a look." Everyone followed O'Neill as he showed Carter the machine they'd found.
Carter looked the machine over then turned. "This machine tests the water purity for the cities water to make sure the water is suitable to be used by Humans."
"Come to think of it." Jill began. "I remember hearing someone who said they worked at the plant talking about something like this, he said something about seeing the plant manager using it and hearing something strange when it read clean water."
"Try putting that vile you found upstairs in the machine." Daniel suggested.
"Alright." Carter went back to the machine and set the vile in the slot.
The machinery activated and after about a minute they heard a chime and something like machinery moving behind the walls.
"That did something." Ferretti said.
Jack noticed something on the wall, there was a blue light with what looked like a key hole in it. He dismissed it for the moment but kept the information in the back of his mind. "Well nothings changed down here. Let's head back up, maybe it unlocked a door somewhere."
Everything was smooth on their return. Once everyone was back in the room Jack turned to Jill.
"Did you guys check this other door?"
"Yeah and it was locked."
Something was nagging at Jack, he went over to the door and grabbed the knob, it turned smoothly.
"I guess we know what that Machine did." Rebecca said.
With the door open Jack could hear moaning coming from the room.
"Teal'c get ready, there are zombies inside."
The Jaffa took up position on the other side of the door and nodded.
"Alright on three. One... Two... Three." Jack flung the door open Teal'c went in first and took out the first zombie. Jack moved in and took out two more.
Teal'c swept the left side of the room. "Clear."
He swept the right. "Clear."
"Another disk." Carter said picking up another computer disk that looked just like the other one they'd found.
"Anything else?"
"There is something on the wall O'Neill." Teal'c said.
He and Carter walked over.
"Give me that Key card sir." Jack pulled the card from his vest and handed it to Sam. Carter slide the card into the reader. A light on the machine lit up blue. After a few seconds the light changed green and the machine ejected the card.
"What was that?"
"It's a machine that rewrites the information on a key card sir."
"Sweet. Let's head back to that shuttered door, I'll bet that's where this will work."
Jack lead the team back into the hall. As he came around the corner a bullet slammed into the wall just inches from his head. He moved back behind the wall. He peaked around the corner just in time to see Nicholai going through the shuttered door.
"What happened sir?" Carter asked.
"It's Nicholai he just went through the shuttered door." He answered as he moved around the corner and ran for the door. When he reached it he found the shutter had was once again blocking the door.
"Let's see if this works." He slid the card through the reader and the light switched from red to green, and the shutter slid up into the ceiling. As they rushed through the hallway they came to another locked door.
Jack took the key attached to the card and put it in the lock. But it wouldn't turn.
"Damn, no ones found another key?"
His people shook their heads.
"Damn." Suddenly Jack remembered the key hole he'd seen down in the sewer. He checked his watch and saw they had only fifteen minutes before sunrise.
"Who here can run fast?"
Rebecca held up her hand. I was told I could have been on my college track team but I was to busy studying.
Jack tossed her the key. "Take that down to the sewer on the wall across from the machine you'll see a keyhole in the wall with a blue light above it. That may be where that key goes."
"Understood Colonel, I'll be back before you know it."
She turned and ran off.
September 28th - Abandoned Water Treatment Plant - 0629 Hours
Rebecca ran through the plant as fast as she could. It didn't take her long to reach the lift. Knowing time was short the lift ride felt like it took forever. Once it stopped she sprinted down the stairs and through the doors until she reached the correct room. She looked where the Colonel had said to and she spotted the Key hole. She slammed the key in and the light shifted from blue to red.
She heard a grinding sound coming from the machine, when the sound stopped the machine released the key. She looked it over and that the machine had changed the keys teeth. She put the key in her pocket and raced back to the lift. Once the lift returned to the second floor she raced back through the halls. As she neared her friends location she removed the key from her pocket.
When she burst through the opening where the shutter had been she tossed the key to Colonel O'Neill who had seen her.
"Thanks kid." The Colonel stuck the key in the lock and it turned.
September 28th - Abandoned Water Treatment Plant - 06 31Hours
O'Neill burst through the door and found himself in a long hall way The end of the hallway is blocked by another shutter. This one has a narrow slot set next to it.
"Carter give me one of the disks."
Sam handed him one of the system disks she'd found. O'Neill Put it in the slot, the shutter slide up and they ran through. There was another shutter and they used the second disk and this one opened as well. Once everyone was through the door the shutter slammed back into place.
"Damn."
"SSSSTTTTAAAARRRRRSSSSSS."
The group spun around at the sound of their determined enemy. He was now brandishing even more tentacles.
"What does it take to kill this thing?"
O'Neill looked around and saw that the Nemesis was standing next to some kind of pipe.
"Let's try this." He raised his Berretta and fired. The bullet punctured the pipe and hot steam poured out causing the nemesis to stumble back into something on the wall which caused an alarm to sound.
"Let's get out of here." Jill shouted.
The group ran to the other side of the room. As Rebecca threw the door open O'Neill watched as the section of floor on which Umbrellas monster stood began to slide into the wall.
"Maybe whatever trap Umbrella set up under there will do that damn thing in." In the next room he found an Umbrella ID card on a desk and since the next door had a card reader next to it he swiped the card through the reader and the light changed from red to green.
As they moved through a long hallway, Jack took a look out a window and saw a helicopter fly up and hover next to the window. In the cockpit of the chopper was Nicholai.
"You bastard!" Carlos shouted
Jack put a hand on Carlos's chest to stop him.
"What are you gonna do Nicholai?" He shouted to be heard over the helicopters blades.
"Me, I'm going to survive while you and your little band are going to die when a missile strikes this town in less than five minutes. I'll see you in hell." The helicopter banked and flew out of sight.
"Nicholai took the chopper?" Ferretti said.
"What the hell do we do now?" Jill asked.
"We continue to the heliport There may be another helicopter."
They continued down the hallway and found a ladder. It lead to another hallway which only went one way and was full of zombies. By the time they reached the end they'd killed more than twenty zombies.
Through the door at the end of the hall they found something that appeared to be a weapon.
"What in the world is that?" He asked.
"It's called a rail gun." Jill explained. "The military brought these things in I figured you knew about them."
"No I've never heard of it." He explained.
"Me either." Added Carter.
"There's no time, we need to get out of here." Rebecca said.
"You're right." O'Neill said.
Daniel who was closest to the door tried to open it, but it wouldn't budge.
"Great what else could go wrong." Ferretti added.
Suddenly they all heard a loud boom and a dust cloud came into the room, when it cleared there was a heavily deformed Nemesis crawling along the floor, using it now clawed hands to drag its now bulbous and mutated body. What appeared to be its ribs protruded through its back. The monsters head was gone, replaced by a toothless maw.
"What do we do?" Rebecca asked.
"We use the rail gun, nothing else has been able to kill it."
Jack moved over to what he assumed was the power source.
"Is this how you activate this thing Jill?"
"All three of them have to be inserted and someone has to fire it from the control panel."
"Alright, Ferretti, Teal'c each one of you take a battery, Carter you've got the control panel, Jill, Rebecca since it's after you guys..."
He was cut of by Jill.
"We're the bait got it."
"Alright, let's finish this thing off once and for all." He pushed with all his might and felt the battery slide into its housing.
The room filled with the hum of electricity as the rail gun began its power up sequence.
The Nemesis was crawling as fast as it could to get to Jill and Rebecca. As the thing neared the two STARS women Jack looked Carter.
"Anytime now."
"It's not ready sir just a few more seconds."
It felt like it took hours but finally there was a loud chime heard as the rail gun powered up. Carter pressed the fire command just as Nemesis passed in front of the massive energy weapon and was burned to a crisp by the rail guns high powered electric bullet. As the energy weapon cycled to cool down mode, another chime was heard and the door at the back of the room opened slightly.
"Lets go." He lead the charge through the door and out onto the helipad. He was immediately disappointed, there was no helicopter the pad was empty. Until he looked closer, there was someone laying on the pad.
He ran over and rolled the man over.
"Barry!" Jill and Rebecca shouted in unison.
"You know this guy?"
"Yeah he's a STARS member. But what's he doing here."
Barry was built like a body builder, with muscular arms and broad shoulders. He was wearing a tan vest with a white shirt underneath tan pants, boots, and a ball cap with the STARS logo on the front. "Uggh."
"Barry." Jack kneeled back down as Barry awakened.
"Jill thank god you're still alive." The big mans gaze shifted to the young medic. "And Rebecca, what are you doing here Becky?"
"It's a long story."
"We'll all catch up later," O'Neill cut in. "Right now we need to get the hell out of here."
"How did you get here Barry?" Jill asked.
"In a helicopter but some Russian guy jumped me and stole it." Barry sat up. "Who are the military people?"
"That's another long story."
"It doesn't matter." Carlos began. "We have no way out. We're gonna die when that missile hit's the city in..." Carlos checked his watch. "One minute."
"It can't end like this." Daniel said.
"It seems it will Daniel Jackson."
"Well this sucks."
"Well," O'Neill said as he stood next to his team. "If we have to go at least we're together."
"Indeed O'Neill." His Jaffa friend added.
"You're right sir."
Daniel just nodded.
Suddenly O'Neill's radio crackled. Someone tried to speak but the message was to garbled to understand. He pulled the radio from his vest.
"This is Colonel Jack O'Neill of the United States Air Force, please repeat your transmission."
Another garbled transmission but this time a somewhat familiar voice could be heard.
"This is Jack O'Neill still inside Raccoon City if you can hear this my team of four and five others need to be rescued. A missile is set to hit the city in..." Before he could answer the missile appeared in the sky.
"Oh no." Rebecca gasped.
"It's to late." Jill said.
A familiar feeling began to wash over O'Neill.
"What the hell am I feeling." Jill asked.
Jack couldn't help but smile. "Rescue."
There was a bright flash of white light.
September 28th - Asgard ship Biliskner - 06 44Hours
When the light faded Jack found himself in the familiar surroundings of an Asgard ship. He looked around until he spotted Thor standing behind a control console.
"Greetings O'Neill."
"Hey Thor, thanks for saving our asses. Again."
"You are welcome O'Neill, I am sorry I could not get here sooner, but I had to come from the Ida Galaxy."
"That's alright, we're just glad you came." Daniel said.
Jack looked around and spotted their new friends. Jill, Rebecca, Barry and Carlos all stood with wide eyed surprise on their faces.
"Where are we?" The medic asked.
The Asgard turned to face the young lady.
"You are aboard the Asgard flagship Biliskner I am Thor Supreme Commander of the Asgard fleet."
"Thor," O'Neill began as he stood by Thors side. "This is Jill Valentine, Rebecca Chambers, Carlos Olivera, and Barry Burton."
"Greetings."
Rebecca gave a weak wave.
"He looks like one of the aliens they say crashed in Roswell." Jill observed.
"Indeed one of my peoples ships crashed on this planet and the occupant was captured. We were however able to rescue him after only a few days. But we hold no malice toward your people."
"Thors one of the good guys." Jack said.
Daniel walked behind the group. "Follow me."
Daniel led them over to a view port and the STARS team and Carlos saw Earth in all its glory from space for the first time. "Oh my god!" Rebecca shouted.
"We're in space." Jill said.
"Obviously Chica."
"An honest to god spaceship." Barry said.
"Indeed."
"Thor, does General Hammond know you're here?" O'Neill asked
"Yes I informed him when I entered orbit. He was the one who told me where to find you."
"What brought you here anyway?"
"One of your teams came to Cimmeria and made contact when they told me of your situation I came at once. However I cannot stay long, I must return to Ida as soon as possible."
"The Replicators still giving you trouble?"
"Yes they are quite persistent creatures. Although we are holding them back at the moment, but they could begin advancing at any moment."
"Well we won't keep you any longer buddy. Could you just beam us to the SGC."
"Yes O'Neill."
"Everyone gather round. We're going back to Earth." Teal'c ushered the civilians to where O'Neill stood.
"Good bye O'Neill."
"See ya around Thor. Don't beam us into a crowed room."
"Don't be a stranger." Carter added.
Suddenly the bright light returned.
September 28th - Stargate Command - 06 50Hours
General Hammond was standing behind Walters station when the control room filled with a bright light. When the light cleared SG-1 and four strangers were now beside him.
"Colonel what the hell is going on?"
"Sorry sir, I told Thor not to beam us into a crowded room, but you know him."
"I do Colonel. Who are these people?" He motioned to the four strangers.
"May I introduce Jill Valentine, Rebecca Chambers, and Barry Burton of STARS and Carlos Olivera of the UBCS."
"Why did you bring civilians into this facility Colonel?"
"Sir they helped us stay alive in that godforsaken place we had to bring them with us or they would have died."
"Alright, we'll discuss it later, for now take them to guest quarters I'm sure you could all use some rest, we'll debrief at 0900. Dismissed." As he watched his flagship team he spoke once more. "And Colonel," O'Neill turned. "We're glad you and your team are safe."
"Thank you sir."
September 28th - Stargate Command - 0900Hours
Everyone was seated around the conference table. SG-1 and Doctor Frasier on the Generals left and the Survivors on the Generals right.
"Well since you've all had a chance to rest we can begin the debriefing. I've already read Doctor Jackson report on the incident. I can't believe a company could make things like that without the government or the military finding out about it."
"It is hard to believe, but it happened General." Barry Burton began. "We tried to tell people after our experience in the Spencer mansion but we were branded as liars."
"I know Mr. Burton I read the reports you and your team filed after that incident. Just so you know if that report had crossed my desk sooner we would have looked into the matter. Umbrella may have deep pockets but they don't own the SGC."
"What are we gonna do now sir?" Daniel asked.
"First I want to know everything you folks know about Umbrella and their Bio-Weapons."
"We'll tell you everything we can General." Rebecca said.
"General may I ask what you're going to do with us?" Jill asked.
"As soon as you give us all the information you can, you will be allowed to leave once you sign a nondisclosure agreement. You can't tell anyone what you know about the Stargate program."
"How long will this take?"
"I don't know. Are you in a hurry to leave Ms. Valentine?"
"General I intend to continue fighting against Umbrella and I need to find my friend Chris we were supposed to meet in Europe before I got trapped inside the city. I need to find him."
"We can find him for you and have him brought here if you'd like."
"No offense General, but, I don't trust the military."
"To bad I was prepared to offer your people positions here at Stargate Command. Given your experience with Umbrella I though you might be able to help us come up with a cure for this virus."
"No thanks General we'll be leaving as soon as possible."
"Wait!" Rebecca shouted.
"What is it Ms. Chambers."
"If your studying the virus then I'd like to help."
"Are you sure Becky?" Barry asked.
"I am, I know we were a team, but my skills would be put to better use here studying the virus than getting in your guys way in the field."
"Rebecca." Jill said with a sad look in her eyes.
"Jill, I almost got all of us killed twice in the city, and in the mansion I was useless. My place is here helping to find a cure for the virus your place is in the field fighting Umbrella by Chris's side."
"Alright Becky I understand."
Rebecca turned to face the General. "Sir, you can let them go now. I can tell you more about this virus then they can."
"Alright, Colonel, please escort these people to the surface."
September 28th - Stargate Command - 0700Hours
After stopping so Jill, Carlos and Barry could sign the nondisclosure agreement they were now at the entrance to Cheyenne mountain. A car was waiting to take the three to the airport.
"Becky, we're going to miss you." Jill said as she gave Rebecca a big hug.
"I know, and I'll miss you guys to, but, it's like I said my place is here."
Barry gave her a hug and patted her on the head. "We'll see you around kid."
"You can count on it." Rebecca said with her best little sister smile.
Colonel O'Neill stepped before Jill.
"Ms. Valentine, I can say I'm sorry to see you go. You're a capable solider the SGC would have been better with you."
"Thanks Colonel, I don't generally trust military types especially because of the way they treated us, but you're okay in my book." O'Neill extended his hand and Jill shook it.
"See ya around Valentine."
"You can count on it Colonel."
Now Teal'c approached. "I am sorry to see you go Jill Valentine. It would have been an honor to serve beside you in battle."
"You as well Teal'c, but you may get your chance I doubt this will be the last time our paths cross. As long as the fight against Umbrella is on there's a chance we'll see each other again."
"Indeed."
"Jill," Doctor Jackson said as he and Major Carter approached. "So this is it."
"Yeah Daniel it is." The Archeologist extended a hand and she took it. "But it's like I told Teal'c as long as Umbrella is out there, It always possible our paths may cross again."
"Very true Jill." Sam said.
The blonde scientist gave her a hug. "do you really have to go so soon?"
"We do, we have to take Umbrella down."
"Ok just stay in touch if you guys need anything give us a call, I'm sure General Hammond would be able to get you anything you need."
"I'll keep that in mind."
"Alright Jill we have to leave or we'll miss our flight." Barry said. Carlos was already headed for the car.
"Alright." She stood before SG-1 and gave them a crisp military salute.
SG-1 returned it.
"You do that well Valentine." O'Neill said.
"Serving in that Deltas will do that for ya."
"You served in the Deltas?" Sam asked.
"Yeah I did. See you guys later." They got in the car and left Cheyenne mountain to continue the fight against Umbrella.
Authors note- Well that's it I hope you enjoyed this story and liked the ending I know it was Kinda sappy but I felt it worked since they were leaving one of their own behind.
Well a sequel is in the planning stages but I don't know when I may start it. If I get a lot of good feedback and requests for the sequel I will start it sooner. So if you wanna see it let me know.
