Ishipwessa- you're close but it's not going to happen yet. I still have things planned for Jace and Clary.
Anyways on with the story, thanks so much for reviewing and please keep it up!
An incessant beeping woke me up from my sleep and I reached for the alarm button, growling under my breath. I told Maia to stop setting that for me. I'll wake up when I wake up. But when I stretched my arm out to find the clock, something stopped me from pulling too far. I opened my eyes curiously.
The room was white and blue and smelled like cleanliness. I glanced down at my arm and saw an IV stuck in my arm. The beeping was from the heart monitor next to my bed.
"What?" I accidentally thought aloud. Why am I in a hospital?
Then I was aware of the pounding headache on my left temple. Jesus. What happened? Was I hungover? If I was, what could I have possibly done to land me in a hospital? I don't remember drinking last night. Wait… what day was it?
"You're awake."
I jump, noticing Jace in the room for the first time. "Holy fuck, don't you ever move?"
He laughs, "I was asleep too." He stretched upwards, his clothes looking rumpled.
"What are you doing here?" I ask, shaking my head in confusion. I promptly stopped because it my head hurt even more, "What am I doing here?"
"They said you probably had a panic attack last night at the auction, remember? You're also probably concussed because you fainted and fell against the counter of the bathroom so you have to stay here a couple days," Jace explains, rising from his chair to sit on my bed, "How do you feel?"
"Okay, my head hurts a little. Why are you here?"
"I saw you stumbling into the bathroom. I got worried and found you lying on the bathroom floor so I drove you here."
"Thanks," I said after a pause, thinking that's the right thing to say.
"No problem. Hey, are you hungry? I don't think you ate dinner last night because you missed the banquet, and it's about breakfast time."
I was suddenly aware of the snarling emptiness inside my stomach and I nodded, "Yeah, do I just ring for some?"
"No, I'll get you some from the cafeteria," Jace offered, "What do you like?"
"Anything good I guess, I've never had hospital food before. Could you hand me my bag? How much does food cost here anyways?" I asked.
"No, I got it," but he gave me my bag before he left.
I fished out my phone from my bag, checking the messages to find that I had 7 text messages from Maia and one from Robert.
Where are you?
Why aren't you home yet?
HELLO? ARE YOU DEAD?
Should I be calling 911?
Okay, it's 4 am and I'm getting concerned. Text me back.
TEXT ME BACK!
Okay, Jace finally told me that you're at the hospital. Text me when you get home okay?
I rolled my eyes and opened Robert's voicemail.
"I demand an explanation. Everyone's talking about how you left with my son! Meet me at the apartment and we'll talk," he yelled briefly.
I frowned a little and texted him. I'm sorry, I'm in the hospital. I'll meet you when I'm released.
Sighing, I put my phone back in the bag. I hope he doesn't realize my thing if you can call it that with Jace. Or this could be the reason for Robert to break up with me.
"Hey!" I looked up to see Jace smiling at me, "I've got waffles."
