Chapter 11

"Jessica!"

"Just a second!" she shouted, before she returned to her phone conversation.

"Chris I gotta go," she whispered.

"Will I see you today?" he asked.

"I'll let you know. I don't know what's on today's agenda," answered Jessica. "Bye."
"Bye"

"Jessica!"

"I'm coming!" she shouted, as she came down the stairs.

"A second's never a second with you is it?" asked her mother.
"Sorry I was on the phone," she answered.

"Today we're all going for a drive. Grandma knows of this lovely pond we can have lunch by," said her dad. "We can do some walking too."

Jessica's face fell.

"Hunny you've been with that guy everyday since we got here. You can have a break," answered her mother. "Family time."
"We go home in three days."
"Well why doesn't he come with us?" asked her mother.

"No that's ok," answered Jessica.

"Still scared he'd go for me?" asked Sara.

"No," answered Jessica.

"I don't see why we have to go for a walk," whined Sara. "We can walk the streets on Hollywood."
"Your just annoyed that there'll be no cell reception, that you won't see Christopher and that AJ had to go home," answered Jessica. "I'll go get my bag."

The car ride was silent except the parents and Grandma. Sara and Jessica both listened to music though Jessica was texting Chris the whole way.

"Thought you said there was no cell reception here," sneered Sara.

"Guess I was wrong," she answered.

The walk continued and by lunch they were nowhere near the pond.

"Mom you sure you got this right?" asked Jessica's mother.

"Yes," answered her mother. "Your father and I used to come here all the time."

The walk continued and Sara and Jessica kept bickering until Jessica snapped before their parents could put a stop to it and stormed away ignoring the calls of her parents.

Within minutes she was out of hearing distance and called Chris.

"Hey how's a day with the family going?" he asked.

"Awful can you come get me?" she asked.

"Where are you?" he asked.

"I don't know. We in the middle of no where looking for some pond to have lunch by and Sara and we're fighting and I snapped and stormed off," answered Jessica.

"Ok I'm going to track your phone," he answered.

"Your what?" she asked.

"The only way I'm going to find you," he answered. "Ok you are actually two minutes away from the pond. So go to it and wait for me. I'll be as quick as I can."

"Thank you," she answered, before she hung up.

She kept walking in the direction Chris had told her to and smiled as she saw the pond in the distance but as she looked up she went down. She tripped over a tree root and fell face first into a puddle of mud. When she tried to get back up she slipped and landed in it on her back. Now covered from head to toe in mud she continued to the pond and snuck onto the log next to it.

Before she knew it the she had fallen asleep in the sun.

"Jess," whispered a voice.

The voice roused her and as she blinked sleepily.

"Nice mud bath?" he asked.

"I fell," she yawned.

"I gathered," he answered. "Why don't you jump in the pond? It sunny enough for you to dry off."
"No," answered Jessica.

"Just go in," as he walked backwards.

But he took a step to far and fell in.

"Chris!" shouted Jessica.

He resurfaced and pulled her in.

"Chris!"

"Jessica!" shouted a voice near by.

"My mum," whispered Jessica.

"I know that,"

"What do we do if they're close they'll have heard me shout you," said Jessica. "Sara is with them."

"Jessica!"

"Over here mom!" she called. "You have to go."
"Or I could stay see if Sara faints we she sees me," answered Chris.

"That would be amusing," answered Jessica, a smile on her face.

"I do need to get home," answered Chris.

"So you leaving now because they'll be here in a minute," said Jessica.

"Jessica," said her mum.

"Why don't we just face the music," whispered Chris.

"Ok," said Jessica.

Together they stepped out of the pond.
