A/N: Yikes! So sorry guys, time ran away from me. I recently graduated high school and went to schoolies week (aussie's will understand). After that I went to America for a month and then Christmas came! So busy busy busy. Anywho, a quick update for the season (it's the day after Christmas here) so wishing all my readers a very merry Christmas, and a happy new year!
Halloween Town was in a state of panic. With only two weeks until Christmas, nearly every resident was out in the town, looking for those perfect gifts. Sally would've been smarter and beaten the crowds if it weren't for the backed up orders in her shop. She was exhausted, dragging around a slightly grumpy Rosie all around town trying to buy everyone's gifts on time. She'd left Josh at home with Jack, but knew that he couldn't handle a new born baby and a rambunctious three-year-old together on his own. When she was nearly done she'd made the mistake of walking in front of the toy shop, the Christmas decorated window catching Rosie's attention immediately.
"Mumma, go in?" The little girl tugged on her mother's hand, causing her to stop.
"Not now Rosie, we have to go get Daddy's present, remember?" Sally said, desperately trying to get Rosie away from the shop.
"No, I want dolly," Said Rosie, stubbornly pointing to the exact same doll the Sally had bought her for Christmas.
"No, Rosie, we're going," Said Sally sternly, wanting to get home and out of the cold as soon as possible. Rosie, irritated and tired from shopping, did what three-year-olds do best, threw a tantrum.
She stomped her dusty pink gumboots in the snow, crossed her arms and cried.
"But I wanna!" She yelled, stomping around before throwing herself on the ground. Sally left her to cry and yell for a few minutes, letting the girl get all her frustrations out. Once done Sally bent down to Rosie's level, picking up Rosie's thrown beanie out of the snow.
"Are you done now?" She asked. Rosie crossed her arms, looking away.
"Me want doll," Rosie muttered, refusing to look at her mother. Sally sighed.
"Rosie, I know you're tired and want to go home, but we just need to get Daddy's present then we can go," Rosie looked back at her, slightly curious.
"What about doll?" She asked, hoping Sally would back down.
"Rosie, Christmas is in how many sleeps?"
"Fourteen."
"That's right, and then on Christmas Day you'll get lots and lots of presents, so maybe after Christmas if you don't get a doll we can come back and get one, okay?" The little girl nodded and stood back up, letting Sally put her beanie back on her head.
"I'm sorry Mummy, for crying," Mumbled Rosie, hugging Sally's legs.
"That's okay, baby, but next time you have to try be a good girl, and tell Mummy when you're upset instead of yelling," Sally said lightly, putting her arms around Rosie.
"Okay Mummy."
The two walked on to the last shop, both willing to forget Rosie's little incident. Let's just say there was a very happy Rosie on Christmas morning when she received her much wanted dolly.
