Chapter 11- Alice POV

I sat in Bella's room scanning the future for hours. I knew by now that she was okay because the meeting with with our mates was still firm. Unfortunately, I was still no closer to understanding why I couldn't see her. Deciding to put the time waiting to good use, I went through Bella's closet. I was sad to see mostly jeans and t-shirts. My sister is a beautiful girl. I've always thought a good outfit can make people look and, most importantly, feel beautiful.

I totally understand she had her own style. She's laid back and casual. Bella's clothes reflect her need for comfort over style. But everyone needs a little push now and then. It's how you grow as a person. A shopping trip is definitely in order. I'll give her an upgraded and grown up version of her favorites. I'm not sure exactly how old Peter was when he was changed, but it was early to mid-twenties. Giving Bella a mature style will only help later. They won't seem so far apart in years, which will help soothe things over with Charlie. Him being police chief means we can't just disappear without a manhunt. Plus, Bella deserves to close out her human life and make the parting from her family as peaceful as possible.

The room around me faded as I fell into a vision. Bella was finally ready to talk. I could see her again! Charlie and Bella were on the way home. I didn't need to see the future to know being here when she arrived would end badly. I dashed everything back into its place. After jotting a quick note for her to just call my name when ready, I flitted out the window and into the tree next to it. It was time to meet properly, even if a little unconventionally.

Bella POV

It was finally time to speak to Alice. We were almost home when I decided. I know she said she would know, but how? Was it a vampire thing? I can't believe I thought that with a straight face. Whatever. Guess I'll find out soon.

Charlie pulled my truck into the drive and cut the engine. I was reaching for the handle when he cleared his throat.

"Thanks for coming tonight Bells. I hope you enjoyed yourself."

"It's no problem Dad. It was a nice night. Well, after Jacob got the message about just being friends that is "

We both chuckled at the memory. Charlie was there when I had enough of Jake's hints. I don't think he ever expected me to be so straightforward. Heading inside, we said goodnight with a hug and went our own ways. As I opened the door to my room, I knew there was a disturbance. First, I was almost positive my desk lamp was off when I left. Second, the curtains were open. I closed them to get dressed earlier. Even though my room is backed to the forest, living in the city with close neighbors most of my life made habits hard to break.

Slowly walking in and taking a closer look, I spotted another note on my bed. My heartbeat skipped as I read the message from Alice.

Just call her name? Is she gonna pop in? Maybe she's really a fairy. Well she certainly looks like one.

"Okay, Bella, you're not crazy. You can do this. Just say her name and she'll come." I whispered, psyching myself up. I took a deep breath and got it over with.

"Alice?"

I almost jumped out of my skin when I heard tapping on my window. My second story window that was too far off the ground to have someone casually tap on it. One hand flew to my mouth and the other my chest when I saw her face smiling brightly through the glass.

"Bella, I know you're shocked. But please don't scream. We can't have Charlie coming up here."

I slowly nodded my head and willed myself to calm down. I cautiously opened the window for her and retreated to my bed on the other side of the room. I should probably sit down before I fall down. By the time I reached it, she was already there pulling me down to sit beside her. I flinched slightly at her cold skin holding my hands. I just stared at her for a couple minutes, not sure where to start. Luckily, I didn't have to. Alice for tired of waiting. She pulled me forward into a bone crushing hug and her mouth was off, running ninety to nothing.

"Oh, Bella! I waited for so long and now you're here. My sister and best friend. And our mates will be here soon. We're gonna be so happy. I've seen it! We finish school here first so you can have time with your dad. Then we'll go away to college, but not really. We have eternity so you can always go back after your changed. We'll travel and do things on your bucket list. Oh, you don't have one. No worries, the guys and I can help you make one…."

She was talking so fast I wasn't sure there were actual words in there. However, the few I caught only left me dazed and confused. Well, more than I already was because honestly who wouldn't be in this situation. Okay Bella, break it down to small words.

Sister & Best Friend -check, already felt & understood that part.

Mates- like as in friends? Or like mating? Soulmates? She did mention some guys. Is it them? It's got to be a vampire thing.

Eternity & Changed-forever? We won't die. How do vampires die or did they? And did she imply I would be changed into a vampire?

The last thought jolted me into action. I threw my hand over her mouth and whispered-shouted "Ssshhhh!" at her. She immediately froze and stared at me in surprise. Her eyes were so wide she looked like an anime character come to life. I almost laughed until I realized that surprising a vampire and putting a body part close to their mouth was maybe a bad idea. Possibly, probably... okay, it definitely was a terrible idea. It was not my brightest moment that was for sure, but my instincts, shield, or whatever wasn't triggered. I slowly pulled my hand away and let out a breath of relief.

"Okay, let's start this over. My name is Bella Swan. You're Alice Cullen and you're a vampire. Why don't you start from the beginning before jumping to the end?"

"Bella, I'm so sorry. I'm just so excited! I've been waiting a very long time to meet my true family. Okay, so you're right. I'm a vampire. Here's the short version. I've woke up like this and I don't remember anything of my human life. I'm a seer. I have visions of possible futures based on decisions. However, I'm come to learn that some things are fated. A person could make a thousand different decisions with a variety of different outcomes, but if something is meant to happen it will no matter what. Please remember that.

When I first woke up, I was overwhelmed by this world. Vampires have unparallelled senses. We can see a bug on a leaf when the tree is miles away. We can smell blood and hear heartbeats even further. I didn't know what I was or what I had been because I woke up alone. I only found out my name and what I was from a vision I had immediately after waking. It was of me, my mate Jasper, his brother Peter, and Peter's mate. I had gold eyes and the guys had red. The second vision I had was of the Cullen family. It showed me that my eyes were gold from feeding from animals.

The thing I need you to understand most is that if I could have met Jasper sooner I would have. Unfortunately, any time I tried to look for a way to speed up our meeting over the years only lead to it taking longer. It wasn't until recently that I saw our first actual meeting. I figured out that I had to wait for something to happen or someone to make a decision before we met. It was just one of those things meant to happen. It turned out that I had to meet Peter's mate first. In the vision of our meeting, I know she's with us because of the blurry figure to my side. I could never see the girl clearly. It was just a feeling of family she invoked. When I walked into the lunchroom your first day here, I felt the same when we locked eyes. And I can't see your future clearly Bella. You're a blur for the most part. We're meant to be family Bella. I saw you as Peter's mate when I first woke up 85 years ago."

Whoa! That's the only thing my flabbergasted mind could think at her revelation
