Author's Note: Hello my lovelies! Finally, I uploaded this chapter. I know I took so long, I'm sorry. I have like two ideas of what I might be doing next and unfortunately that's it. So, here's chapter eleven. Enjoy!
I do not own The Vampire Diaries or any of its characters except Crystal Salvatore and Skye Sutton.
Chapter Eleven:
"So…" I turned to smile at Anna.
"What?" She gave me a confused look. I turned back around to face the road.
"You and little Gilbert. Hmm?"
"Yea, so what?"
"Nothing, I just think that's kind of funny."
"I like him a lot. He's sweet, funny, and I trust him."
"Does he know?"
"No. Not yet. I don't know if I'll ever tell him."
"I'm sure he knows. Or he'll find out soon. I think you should tell him though, because everyone finds out eventually. It's sometimes easier to hear it from the person you care about, then putting all the pieces together on your own."
A few moments went by and Anna looked up at me.
"What was their name?"
"What do you mean?"
"Oh come on. You give me all that, and you don't expect me to think you just put it all together right? Something had to have happened to you."
"His name was Nate."
"What happened?"
I didn't answer her. I hated to bring up bad memories. The feeling you get in your stomach, when you know it was your entire fault, is the worst.
"Hey, its okay. We might as well talk about things and catch up. After all, we were best friends."
I smiled
"Yea, we've had some good times, and bad, but mostly good."
"Yes, we have! Do you remember the night we snuck out to go ride the horses in the back?"
"Oh my god yes! And we slipped in the mud because it was pouring out. And when we went back home, we got caught."
We were both laughing and I swear I felt a tear slip from the corner of my eye.
"It use to be so much more easier back then."
"I know."
"Anna, so just being straight, your not here for revenge right? I could trust you?"
"I'm only here to live my life. I wanted to get my mother back and now I have Jeremy. I'm not here for revenge like others were."
I looked at her brow. I was able to tell if she was lying, when her eyebrow twitched. But, there was no twitch.
"I missed you, Anna."
"I've missed you too."
I turned the knob of the door and pushed it open.
"No knock?" Anna had a smile on her face.
"Please, they make it such a pain in the ass to get some trust and believing. They don't get a knock, just a rude entrance."
Anna laughed as we walked down the hall. Stefan was still sitting on the couch by the fire, as was Damon. He looked up at me with an annoyed look and looked back down. Stefan stood up and dropped the book he had in his hands.
"Anna. What are you doing here?"
"Hey, Stefan. Oh I'm just here to support a friend of mine."
"I thought you said not to trust her." Stefan said looking at me.
"Oh, thanks Crystal." Anna rolled her eyes.
"Hey, shut up. I thought you might be here for revenge, but your not. So Stefan, you can trust her."
"Just like that huh?" Damon asked while standing up.
"You wanted proof, well here she is. Anna?"
"Okay, now listen to me. Crystal is your sister. Damon, I know your having some trouble in believing that, but its true. I met Crystal in 1864, like you two, but I actually remember her. We were actually best friends, isn't that funny? Now, I know she is your sister, because I knew Crystals witch. She explained a lot to me, that I never knew. She's the one who told Crystal about you two idiots."
"Look, I'm just not in the mood for backstories and witches today. We get to many of them." Damon said leaving the room.
"Stefan, you need to get Damon to believe this. There's something I didn't tell you Crystal. Something bad."
"Anna, what is it?"
"There's someone coming. And the three of you need to be ready to take them down. Otherwise you're all going to die."
"Well, why do we have to take them down? Why can't you help?" I asked.
"I like it here but, I'm not staying here forever. I'll be leaving soon."
"Of course." I rolled my eyes.
"Who's coming?"
"I don't know his name. All I know is that he's dangerous and… he's after Elena."
Stefan's eyes had widened.
"What? Why?"
"Because, she's the Petrova doppelgänger."
"What is so special with these doppelgängers?" Damon had walked out with his empty glass. I have yet to see him without a glass in his hand.
"I'm not sure. All I know is that they look like twins."
"They have magical properties." I said, looking Damon in the eyes.
"Every 500 years or so, a doppelgänger appears."
"How do you know all of this?"
"I looked up some information on doppelgängers after I saw Elena."
"Look, you can't run away with Elena. This man, he'll find you. You'll never be safe. So you need to be prepared to fight."
"Uh, saving people, its so hard." I complained. I'm still tired from when I went on that adventure with Skye. It was so exhausting.
"Okay everyone, start grooming your hero hair. We got work to do."
I opened the front door and walked to the kitchen. I placed my keys on the counter and pulled off my jacket. God, I'm so tired. I went up the stairs and walked to Skye's door, which of course was shut.
"Skye? I know your in there and still don't want to talk to me but, something's coming, or someone, a dangerous man. It might get bad for all of us and I can't do this without you. I need my sister back."
I waited a few seconds without an answer and turned to walk to my room. Then the door creaked, and I heard small footsteps. I turned back around and saw Skye standing between her door, with a tear in her eye.
"Skye, I-"
"Stop. Don't apologize. I'm the one who needs to. I shouldn't have gotten mad at you and went after Damon. He's your brother and I almost took him away from you because I was pissed."
"You don't need to continue. I understand why you were upset with him. He kidnapped you and fed from you. You don't need to apologize."
"Yes, I do. I was being a drama queen and a bitch to you. I'm sorry."
"Lets just forget about this all, and…make brownies."
"Brownies?"
"Yea, I could really go for them."
"Now that you said that, I can too."
She laughed and threw her arms around me.
"Can we watch a movie too?"
"Oh, yes, definitely." I let out a little laugh.
1864
"Anna! Anna!" The branches were hitting me everywhere as I ran through the trees. They were tearing my dress and leaving scratches all over my body. It was completely dark, as I tripped over something. I tried to get back up, but the end of my dress had gotten caught on a log. I started trying to untangle it, but it wouldn't budge. So I quickly yanked at it and the piece ripped off the log. Then, as I scrambled to get back up, I heard the howl.
"No!" I started to run again. I looked back behind me and saw nothing. I looked forward again and froze when I saw the wolf standing in front of me. Its eyes were bright yellow, and its mouth was dripping with saliva.
"Please! Please let me go!" I begged. The wolf creepily stepped forward, getting ready to attack.
"No!" I turned around and ran in the opposite direction. All of a sudden, I was knocked over. I was on my stomach as I felt a sharp pain on my shoulder. I let out a scream as the wolf ran by me. I struggled to get back up. I pulled my dress down my shoulder to look at the bite. It healed. How did it heal that fast? I started to run towards the apothecary.
"Anna!" I ran inside. Anna was holding a small vial.
"Crystal? What's wrong?" She had a worried look as she put down the vial on the counter.
"I don't know." I started to cry.
"Tell me what happened? Are you hurt?"
"No. Not anymore, anyway. I was attacked in the woods, by a wolf. It bit me on the shoulder."
"Wait, a wolf? It bit you? Where did it come from?"
"I don't know. It just started to follow me. But its alright because the bite healed very quickly."
"It healed?" Anna's eyes widened.
"Yes, look." I pulled down my dress over my shoulder again. The bite mark had returned. Except, now it was worse. It looked like the bite was starting to spread.
"I don't understand, it healed."
"That's impossible. I thought it was a myth."
"A myth? What do you mean?"
"Crystal, you're new at this. You were turned into a vampire only a week ago. There are legends about vampires and werewolves."
"I don't understand, werewolves exist?"
"Most things do exist. Werewolves are every real and deadly. If a werewolf bites a vampire, it can kill you."
"How?"
"I don't know, its something to do with their venom."
"Well, give me something that can heal it."
"Crystal, there's nothing that can cure that. It's only a matter of time."
"No, I need to find Lucy." I hurried out of the building and started running again.
I woke up to a knocking at the door. I pulled off the blanket over me and stretched out my arms. The knocking continued again.
"Hold on!" I looked at the couch to see if Skye was there, but she wasn't. I walked to the kitchen and there was a little yellow sticky note on the refrigerator.
'Called in at the Grill. C U soon! – S'
"Of course." The knock started again.
"I'm coming!" I walked to the door and opened it. I was surprised to see who was at the door too.
"Damon. What do you want?"
"I'm looking for my witch"
"I hope this doesn't become a habit. You coming here, looking for Skye, being creepy and calling her your witch. This isn't going to be a continuous thing you know."
"Where is she?"
"Why would I tell you? So you could kidnap her again?"
"I didn't kidnap her."
"Ha, so you didn't kidnap her, tie her up, and feed from her?"
"No. It wasn't me."
"You don't really expect me to believe that do you?"
"No. I don't, but it's true. So, do you mind telling me where she is?"
"She's working at the Grill." I don't know why I told him, but he wasn't going to let it go.
"What? You let her leave?"
"Um, yea. She has the freedom to go wherever she wants."
"Bad idea. Why do you think I left her in my house? I didn't kidnap her. I saved her."
"Oh, really? From who?"
"I don't know who it is yet. But I can assure you that Skye is in danger."
"Uh, it never ends. Okay, I'll go to the Grill and check on her."
"Alright, lets go."
"Whoa, okay I know you want to help, but I think I can check on her on my own."
He rolled his eyes.
"I'm going."
"Sure, lets have some sibling bonding." I gave him a smirk.
"So…"
"Look, I'm not in the mood for 'bonding'."
"Fine."
We drove in silence until we arrived. He was about to open the door before I grabbed his arm.
"Just answer this one question. Why do you care so much for Skye? I mean you don't even know her."
"Trust me, I know her." He hopped out of the car and walked to the entrance of the Grill.
"Ass."
I got out of the car and walked inside. The smell of french fries clogged up my nose. They smelled so good. I followed Damon to the bar and saw Matt cleaning out glasses.
"Hey Matt." I gave him a smile.
"Hey, Crystal and Damon?"
"Where's Skye?" Damon asked annoyed.
"Um, she was here but she left with this guy."
"Who?" Damon and I asked together.
"Jeff. He was playing pool with her, then she left with him."
"Skye, you kinky bitch." I laughed to myself.
"No, that's him. I remember him. I know where their at."
"Wait, so he's a… vampire?" I whispered so Matt wouldn't hear.
"Yep. One out for revenge too."
"On who?"
"Skye."
"What do you mean Skye? What did she do?"
"Look, I can't explain what she did. Not now anyways."
"Fine. You're going to though, later. Lets go get her. Where is she?"
"Their at the tomb."
"The tomb? Why the tomb?"
"Because that's where it all started."
"Are we almost there?"
"You haven't been to the tomb yet?"
"No. Not since 1864. I kind of forgot about it."
"How do you forget about the place where all vampires were supposed to be burned, but instead were entombed."
"I didn't forget. I just forgot the location. Your forgetting I haven't been here for over a century."
"Wait, shush. Did you hear that?"
"Hear what?"
"Magic."
"Ahhh!" Jeff was screaming in pain.
"You didn't really think that I didn't know who you were, did you?" Skye yelled back at him.
"It was all your fault! You killed them!"
"You shouldn't have come back here Jeff. Now I'm going to kill you."
"No!"
"Skye! What are you doing?" I ran through the trees and reached the two of them.
"Crystal? How did you find me?"
Damon walked out from behind a tree.
"You brought him?"
"He said you were in danger!"
"Yea, well I can take care of myself."
"No, you can't." Damon said making Skye angry.
"You can't hide little bitch. There's more of us coming for you." Jeff said while charging at Skye. Damon sped in front of Skye. He quickly grabbed a stake out of his leather jacket and shoved it into Jeff's heart. Jeff let out a strangled cry and fell to the ground.
"There you go. I saved you again."
"Again? What do you mean again?!"
"I have a lot to explain to you, but for now lets just get you home."
Skye looked confused but gave in. I looked at Damon. He looked down at Jeff's body, then back up at me.
"I'll take care of the body."
I nodded. I put my arm around Skye. I looked back at Damon, who had the body over his shoulders.
"Thank you. For everything."
He just looked at me. I led Skye out of the woods and to the car.
"Please tell me everything."
"I will Skye."
We drove home and I explained everything to her. She was confused for the most part but was surprisingly thankful for Damon. But, I couldn't help but wonder why that man was after Skye and why there's more people coming for her. When I asked her, she dodged the subject. There's something that Damon and Skye are hiding from me and I'm going to find out.
