"Where did you guys go yesterday?" Pym asked in a pout, flying around them in his shrunken form

"No where," TJ said, waving his hand back and forth at the buzzing kid.

"It doesn't matter where we went," Francis said, doing the same and trying to get Pym to stop flying around.

"I want to know!" Pym shouted, hovering in the air.

Crystal reached out and grabbed the kid lightly, pulling him to her and making him sit in her hand. She put a finger up to her lips as she smile warmly at him. "We were having couples time. We couldn't let Fury know." She whispered to him so no one else heard.

Pym had dawning hit him as he opened his mouth and nodded his head. "Oh! Ok!"

He jumped out of her hand and grew back to normal size, smiling at her with a knowing smirk. He held a finger to his lips as he smiled, feeling happy he was part of the secret.

"What she say?" Bridget asked, grabbing his arm and bouncing on the tops of her feet.

"It's a secret," Pym told her with an innocent smile, getting a wink from Crystal and another smile.

"What's a secret?" Fury asked, suddenly behind Crystal, making her tense up in surprise.

"Nothing," She laughed, turning around and facing him.

Fury looked at her with his beady eye, staring her down with a look that would normally make people talk. Instead Crystal just smiled at him wider and held her ground, not moving an inch on their little escape for a couples retreat.

Fury sighed, scratching his head and giving up. "Because that's not suspicious at all." He said sarcastically.

"What's up?" James asked, deciding to step up and find out what he needed.

He nodded his head to Crystal, making her smile drop and look at him seriously. "I need Crystal for a bit,"

"For what?" Sierra asked, tilting her head.

Fury raised an eyebrow at them, telling them 'you already know'. Crystal sighed, and rubbed the back of her neck. She looked over at Sierra and watched her deflate with her own sigh.

"You know I don't like using it." Crystal told him, placing her hands on her hips.

"I didn't even tell you what you were going to be doing." Fury said, holding his hands up in a shrug.

She raised an eyebrow at him, "I can read your mind Fury," She told him, knowing he knew full well that she knew what he was thinking. She saw his eyes pleading her that she was needed. "Fine, fine!" She gave in finally.

He nodded to her with a small smirk, a small showing of thanks. "Follow me,"

Francis reached out and grabbed her arm, stopping her from walking with Fury. His eyes looked into hers for any way he could get her out of whatever Fury was trying to drag her into.

"I'll be right back." She said, patting his hand. She kissed his cheek reassuringly just to give him a further boost. "It's nothing dangerous."

"Hopefully," Sierra huffed, crossing her arms over her chest and giving Crystal a hard look.

Crystal smirked at her, seeing the tough side peek out of her. "I'll be fine. Just a little…..persuasion….this time."

Sierra laughed at that as she finally understood what Fury was going to have her do. "Don't bully too much," Sierra warned.

Crystal put two fingers to her forehead and saluted to her sister as she stuck her tongue out. "I'll try,"

"So, who exactly am I interrogating?" She asked once they were out of ear shot and heading down to the basement.

"Two men who we're working for your father…." Fury coughed into his hand, seeing the look Crystal gave him. "…I mean Nightmare."

"Figured," She sighed, pocketing her hands in her shorts and stretching her back to prepare herself. "We're they captured on one of the adults' missions?"

"Yeah. " He looked over at her. "You're too easy on your boyfriend there."

"I just don't want him to worry." She told him with a smile. "If I told him I was interrogating people who work for my father, then he'd want to be a part of it."

Fury hummed, understanding her side finally. He held his hand out, stopping her by the door and opening it so she could walk inside. Crystal stared at the two men who were in a see through box chamber and handcuffed.

"Well, well, look who is it." The larger man who had to be the bulk of the group. "You're going to use the weak girl to get to use?"

Fury raised an eyebrow at them, making the brains of the group laugh and shake his head. "We already know this girl can't use her power. Don't try to act otherwise. She's weak!"

Crystal looked over at Fury with a questioning look, and smiled as he nodded to give her the go. She looked at the men and pressed the button on the wall next to her, lifting the box and giving her a clear path to them.

"Whoever said I was I couldn't use my power?" She asked with an evil smile. Her eyes turned red as the power gathered around her and caused the air to stir. "I'm far from weak."

The men tried to crawl backwards away from her as she stepped closer and closer. She walked slowly, but with deliberate steps, the power pushing the men down from the force of its strength. She kneeled down in front of them and smirked one last time before reaching out towards them.

She placed her hands on their heads, focusing her energy through her hands and into their minds directly. She could feel her mind prying into theirs and wrapping its tendrils into their memory to gather the information Fury was looking for.

She was completely enveloped in darkness as she was pulled in, her powers encompassing her and making their minds swirl around her. Images swirled around her in a circle, changing to videos. She reached her hand out, placing the tips of her fingers on the video and swiping her hand and flinging the images quickly past her. She was letting all their past memories slip past of when they were children and growing up.

She held her hand up, stopping them from zooming past her. This time as she reached her hand out she let her hand get sucked in, letting her feel what they were feeling at the moment. Fear racked through her like a tsunami, freezing her to the spot.

"I want you to find my daughter," Nightmare told them, sitting up on a throne like chair. His red eyes were so bright they seemed to be made of blood themselves, and his dark black hair hung over his head, giving him the complete look of a demon.

"You're daughter?" The brains asked. "I thought your children were…." He stopped, seeing the piercing look he gave him.

"Yes, my children are dead. All except for the twins." He said, jutting his chin out to show his pride and power.

"Twins? Which one then?" The brawns asked, feeling confused.

"Crystal." He said, flicking his fingers and making a picture of Crystal fly in front of them.

"M-may I ask why?" Brains asked scared.

"Because she is the key to our victory," Her mother suddenly said, walking out from the side room. Her mother's long blonde hair and blue eyes made her look anything like the evil person she was. Her green short dress hung on her thighs with a slit running up to her hip.

"Mistress," They both said, bowing to the ground as she walked over to Nightmare, placing a hand on his shoulder with a smile.

"How do we defeat her?" Brawns asked, looking up at them with confusion.

"Her body is weak. She is weak. You do not have to worry about her winning against you two." He told them with a smirk, fear quaking through them once again.

Brains furrowed his brows as he looked at the floor, none of it making sense. If she was so weak, why was he sending them to go get her? And why after so long? Why didn't he just get a hold of her as a child when she had to be the weakest?

"Then how should we get her?" Brains asked, looking up at his master finally.

"Just get captured," Nightmare said, waving his hand and sending a dark cloud over them.

Crystal blinked her eyes, clearing the image from her eyes in her mind and tried to jerk back her arm. She realized to late the trap her father had set for her, and the same dark cloud flew out of the memories and at her. Dark tendrils shot out of the cloud, wrapping around her wrists and pulling until she felt her arms would break.

A menacing laugh echoed inside the dark space of the mind, making her look around and another shiver of fear to shoot through her. A foot stepped out of the cloud, followed by a leg and then the rest of the body. The fear crept through her increasingly as more and more of the man was shown. Finally Nightmare was standing in front of her with his red eyes flashing.

"You stupid girl," He laughed, smirking at her. "Did you really think I wouldn't get you sooner or later? You were playing risks by using your power!"

Crystal struggled against the hold that was on her arms, trying desperately to get away from the man who caused her so much pain. He laughed at her struggling, knowing it was worthless. The more she struggled the more they tightened on her arms.

"I've found you now," He said, walking towards her.

"Stop…" She squeaked out, eyes wide in fear.

He stopped in front of her and reached his hands out. She shook her head, repeating that one word as he got closer and closer. She knew the pain he inflicted the moment he could get into your mind; and she didn't want him getting any information on her friends or the Avengers.

He placed his hands on either side of her head, his fingers digging in as he shot his power through her. Her back arched and her body convulsed as she felt like electricity was going through her, zapping every part of her with pain.

"Stop!" She cried out, tears in the corners of her eyes.

She could feel the darkness seep off of him and into her mind, enveloping it and prodding it for a way inside. She gasped as they rammed into her subconscious, searching around deliberately through her child hood memories with him, the day of her family's death, and up to the moment she got away with Sierra.

She threw up a wall around the rest of her memories, desperately trying to keep him from the Avengers and her friends; their secrets all in her mind. Her whole body was shaking in pain as he zapped her again. He broke down her wall, and then growled as she threw up another. He repeatedly broke them down, her power and energy depleting quickly with every one of them.

"Just give up!" He shouted at her, crumbling the wall to dust. He let out an angry shout as she once more threw up one with her already incredibly low energy.

She knew if he broke this one down it would be over and all the information inside of her would go to him. He'd be able to find her and the people she cared about. He'd kill them and take her with him, and then she'd have no choice of choosing the right side on her birthday.

The tendrils jabbed through the wall, creating small cracks in it and slowly the wall was beginning to crumble. She gripped her fists, trying to repair the wall back to its hold, but the darkness was too strong for her, and too fast for her to actually do anything effective. Nightmare smiled in victory, feeling his daughters will leaving her the closer he got to her secrets.

Crystal felt her stomach twist in revolt, the power inside of her depleting and making her weak. She closed her eyes tightly, fighting past the pain and fear and clenched her fists. "STOP!" She screamed at him.

Suddenly a burst of power bubbled and erupted from her core; almost as if there were a barricade it couldn't get past until she finally let it through. The power threw Nightmare from her mind and made the tendrils disappear in a puff from the explosion. Nightmare shouted out in pain as he was thrown completely away from her.

"What?" he asked in disbelief, staring at her with a glare as her feet gently hit the floor.

A white light was enveloping her as wind blew around her gently. Her hair was down from its hold and her blue eyes were lit up like the sun as they stared at him. She looked like an Asgard goddess that her mother once was.

"I will not let you near anyone." She told him. "I won't let you hurt anyone around me. I will fight…and I will win." She told him certainly, eyes looking deeply into him and knocking him back as more power exploded.

"I will come after you," Nightmare threatening as he glared at her once more.

Nightmare shouted out again before he whipped his hand around and disappeared in a cloak of black. He was completely gone from the dark space, leaving Crystal alone to stand there. Her power dropped from her suddenly, her knees hitting the floor as she collapsed.

She opened her eyes once again, and this time she was back in the basement with the two men unconscious in front of her. Her breathing was ragged and she could feel her muscles trembling. She looked around the room for Fury, but the man was nowhere to be seen. He must have left to let her do the interrogating without interruption.

She let out a small cry as she pushed herself up to a standing position, stumbling over to the wall to use as a support. The pain was radiating through her like electricity, and burning her with every move she made. She slammed the button, letting the cube drop back down over the men in case they woke up before Fury could return.

Her vision blurred and she gulped saliva down her dry throat. She knew she was at her breaking point, but she had to get to Fury to warn him. Nightmare was angry, and he could feel how strong she was; he was going to come after them. But he was weak for now, so they had a bit of time before he himself could get up.

She slid along the wall, desperately climbing into the elevator to go up to the main floor. She groaned as her legs gave out from underneath her finally, dropping her to the elevator floor. She gripped the bar desperately, trying to pull herself back up, but her legs would no longer listen to her.

Crystal could feel her consciousness slipping from her and the black dots started to appear on her vision. She had used way too much power to safely use for her body, and it was hitting her hard with the injuries Nightmare already had given her. Slowly the elevator climbed, and Crystal could only hope it would reach before she completely lost consciousness.

*Ding!*

Crystal watched the elevator doors open, and then she realized it was no good because she couldn't even move from the spot on the floor. She was already leaned against the elevator wall because she had no energy left. She breathed heavily and slammed her head back in irritation. Why couldn't she have lasted a bit longer?

"Crystal!"Sierra screamed loudly.

Crystal cracked her eyes open, seeing a hand stop the doors before they closed and sling them back open. Rowan was standing there looking down at her with worry and shock and Sierra pushed past him and knelt by her.

"Oh my god! Crystal! What happened? What's wrong? Rowan!" she cried out desperately.

Rowan nodded his head, reaching down and scooping Crystal up into his arms and taking her out of the elevator so they wouldn't be caught in it either. Sierra hovered around her, her hands moving over the air around Crystal while Rowan held her up.

Crystal could see Rowan tell Sierra something before she nodded and took off. She was fighting consciousness, trying to keep her eyes open. But her mind was so hazy now she couldn't even remember what she had to say.

"Fury," She croaked out, her throat feeling like sand paper now from her breathing.

"We're getting him," Rowan told her gently, nudging her shoulders so she would stay awake.

Crystal shut her eyes for a moment, feeling as if weights were dragging them down. Her shoulders were jerked suddenly as she was taken away from the original hands and transferred to another.

"Crystal!"

She pried her eyes open, trying to look for the one who called her and finding Francis there holding her with worried eyes staring down at her. She glanced behind him and saw Fury, her mind shooting adrenaline into her body.

She sat up quickly and reached out to Fury, grabbing the bottom of his coat and tugging. She hissed at the pain of her muscles and clenched her fists. He leaned down to her, helping her pull him over so she could tell him.

"He's coming," She said hoarsely, her eyes piercing into him.

His eyes widened as he seemed to understand what she was saying. Her arm dropped from his coat as he began shouting out orders to his agents who had rushed there with him and pointing around for them to follow.

Francis lifted her up into his arms, making her lean against him. Her head hit his shoulder gently as she lulled to the side, her eyes drifting shut. She could no longer keep the exhaustion from pulling her into its clutches. The last thing she remembered was Francis telling her they were going to help her fight against him before he could get to her.
