When they all finally got back to where Evelyn and Isabella were staying, they were all trying to figure out a way to stop Imhotep. Isabella was sitting in a chair in the corner and watched the others as they talked.
"We must stop him from regenerating. Who opened that chest?" said Evelyn, standing near the table were Jonathan, Henderson and Daniels were sitting at.
"There was me and Daniels here. And Burns, of course." said Henderson.
"And that Egyptologist fellow." said Daniels.
"What about my buddy, Beni?" asked Rick, who was sitting near the window. "No, he scrammed out of there before we opened the damn thing." Daniels answered.
"Yeah, he was the smart one." Henderson said, which made Isabella scoff in disbelief. She knew that Beni wasn't smart and she didn't trust him at all. She thought that he was a backstabbing weasel that had the brains of a camel.
"Yeah, that sounds like Beni." said Rick, walking towards the table. Isabella stood up and walked over as well. She stood next to Evelyn as they continued talking.
"We must find the Egyptologist and bring him back to the safety of the fort before the creature can get to him." said Evelyn, with Isabella agreeing.
"Yeah, we need to find him and then get the hell out of here."
"Right. Those two stay here, you three come with me." said Rick, which made everyone protest and Isabella was practically yelling her protest.
"There's no way in hell I'm staying here! Who even put you in charge?! You guys need me-RICK!" Isabella was cut off when Rick threw her over his shoulder.
"Put me down! Evy! Jonathan! Do something!"
Evelyn followed them as Rick walked into a room. He threw Isabella onto the bed and walked out of the room, closing the door behind him.
After it was locked, Isabella got up and tried to open the door. "Rick, let me out! You guys need me!" She hit the door a few times beofre finally giving up.
Isabella looked at Evelyn, who was sitting in a chair, looking innocently.
"You're just gonna let him lock us in here?" said Isabella, crossing her arms as she walked towards her sister. "Well, I would have protested, but it's really late and I'm very tired. Also, it was really funny whn he threw you over his shoulders." Evelyn said, laughing a little bit. Isabella shook her head and sat back down on the bed.
"It's going to be a long night."
After a few hours of being locked in the room, Evelyn and Isabella both changed into night gowns and fell asleep. Everything was peace and quiet.
Suddenly, sand started to pour through the key hole and piled on the floor. Imhotep was now in the room, his face half decayed since he just killed Henderson, who was left guarding the door alone. Imhotep over to the bed, sat down and looked down at Isabella, who was still sleeping and didn't know he was in the room with them right now.
Imhotep was looking at her with a look of sadness and regret. "Atiya." he said. He leaned down and kissed Isabella. Imhotep's face, well mostly his jaw, started to decay and as if right on cue, Evelyn woke up and saw that this was happening. She screamed bloody murder, which caused Isabella to wake up. She pushed him off of her as the door was busted down and Rick and Jonathan came in.
"Get your ugly face off of her!" yelled Rick as Evelyn and Isabella got off the bed. Imhotep said, something in Egyptian which wasn't really important.
"Look what I got." said Rick and he held up the white cat from before. Imhotep stopped walking towards him and froze with a look of terror on his face. The cat hissed at him and Imhotep screamed and turned into sand and flew out the window. After he left, Isabella slowly stood up and looked at Rick.
"You all right?" Rick asked her, but before she could say anything, Jonathan answered himself.
"Well, I'm not sure." said Jonathan which made Rick look at him in disbelief. Isabella rolled her eyes and helped Evelyn up.
"We have to go back to the museum. I think I may know how to kill him." said Evelyn.
Jonathan drove everyone to the museum and stopped when they arrived. Rick got out of the car first and helped Isabella out. Everyone went inside and saw Ardeth and the curator waiting for them. The group walked up the stairs as Evelyn started to explain what they were searching for.
"According to legend, the black book the Americans found at Hamunaptra is supposed to bring people back from the dead. Until now it was a notion I was unwilling to believe."
"Believe it, sister. That's what brought our buddy back to life." said Rick as they continuned to walk up the stairs, following the curator and Ardeth.
"But, if the black book can bring dead people back to life..." Isabella started to say and Rick finshed the sentence for her. "Then maybe the gold book can kill him."
"That's the myth." said Evelyn, which made Isabella sigh. "Well, myths are not always true. All we have to do is find the gold book's location and stop that mummy freak." said Isabella. Everyone stopped as they all heard chanting coming from outside. The group walked towards the windows and they saw people with boils and sores on their face and looked like they were all in a trance and they kept chanting the same thing over and over again.
"Imhotep."
"Imhotep."
"Imhotep."
"Imhotep."
"Imhotep."
They were marching towards the museum and they were all carrying torches, knives, and other things that looked like a weapon.
"Holy..." Isabella said as she just stared at what was happening.
"Last but not least, my favorite plague, boils and sores." said Jonathan, as they all didn't look away from the scene.
"They have become his slaves. So, it has begun, the beginning of the end." said Ardeth. Isabella shook her head and began to walk away. "Not yet. Not on my watch. Come on." The others followed her and Isabella started to translate the writing that was on the stone that was in front of her.
"According to Bembridge scholars, the golden Book of Amun-Ra is located inside the statue of Anubis." said Evelyn, as she also began to translate the writing as well.
"That's where we found the black book." said Daniels.
"Exactly." said Evelyn.
"Looks like the old boys at Bembridge were mistaken." said Jonathan, making Isabella to agree with him on that.
"Yes. They mixed the books up. Mixed up where they were buried. So, if the black book is inside the statue of Anubis, then the golden book has to be inside..." said Isabella, as the doors of the museum were finally busted down and the villagers all ran inside. While Rick, Ardeth, and Daniels looked to see what was happening, Jonathan said, "Come on, sisters, faster."
Which made Isabella to glare at him while Evelyn said, well mostly sung, "Patience is a virtue."
"I have to disagree with you on that, Evy." said Isabella, as she tried to translate the writing a little faster.
"Not right now it isn't." said Rick, as he looked at Isabella, who quickly looked at him and went back to translating.
"I think I'll go and get the car started." said Jonathan and he ran out of the room. "Typical Jonathan." Isabella muttered.
"I've got it. The golden book of Amun-Ra is at Hamunaptra inside the statue of Horus." said Evelyn, stepping away from the stone with a smile on her face.
"Take that, Bembridge scholars."
Isabella smiled a little bit as well before Rick grabbed her hand and they all got out of the museum.
Meanwhile, Jonathan was running towards the car when the villagers appeared and he stopped running when he came up with an idea.
It was to act like he was one of them.
"Imhotep." he kept saying over and over again as the villagers walked away from the museum. When they were finally gone, Jonathan dropped the act, ran to the car, got in and started it. Everyone else ran to the car with Daniels being the fastest out of all of them. Isabella was holding onto Rick's hand for dear life as Daniels was yelling, "Let's go, Let's go, Let's go! Get this thing in gear, boy. Let's get out of here." as Daniels got into the car first.
"C'mon Evy, C'mon Bella." said Jonathan, when Beni suddenly appeared and started to yell.
"Imhotep! Imhotep!"
Everyone else got into the car as they all heard Imhotep scream.
"You're gonna get yours, Beni! You hear me? You're gonna get yours!" yelled Rick, as Jonathan drove away and the villagers started to run after them.
Isabella was sitting between Rick and Jonathan while Evelyn sat in the back between Ardeth and the curator. Suddenly, Jonathan slammed on the brakes and the car came to a screeching stop.
The villagers were standing in front of the car, blocking the path. They stood there quietly when Rick decided to stomp on Jonathan's foot, the one that was on the gas pedal, and drove through the crowd of villiagers. Everyone, except for Jonathan and Daniels, started to fight the villagers who kept jumping on the car. Isabella managed to punch a few, while Evelyn poked one of the villagers eyes.
Daniels was suddenly yanked out of the car by two villagers and Jonathan kept on driving and managed to crash into a water fountain. Everyone else quickly got out of the car as Rick lifted Isabella out of the car and he picked up a torch as everyone else tried to get away, but they were surrounded. The villagers, for the thousandth time, started to chant, "imhotep", over and over again as they walked a little closer to the group.
Imhotep, now looking fully human, walked through the crowd with Beni following him. Isabella pushed Evelyn behind her, trying to make sure that she was safe, and it was basically her job to protect her since she was Evelyn's big sister. Even thought they were a year apart.
"It's the creature. He's fully regenerated." said the curator.
Imhotep started to speak and Beni quickly translated what he was saying and so did the two sisters.
"Come with me, my princesses. It is time to make you mine forever." said Beni, saying almost all of it correctly except fot the last word.
"For all eternity, dumbass." said Isabella, glaring at him as she said it. Beni looked down in confusion and muttered a swear under his breath.
Imhotep continued to speak and held out his hands towards Isabella and Evelyn. "Take my hand and I will spare your friends." Beni translated.
Isabella looked around, worriedly as she saw there was no other choice.
"Got any bright ideas, Rick?" Isabella asked Rick.
"I'm thinking, I'm thinking." said Rick and Isabella grabbed his hand and when he looked at her, she gave him a sad look. "You better think of something fast, because if he turns me into a mummy, I swear you're first one I'm coming after."
Rick looked at her Isabella, confused and she squeezed his hand and let go when she looked at Evelyn , who was the only one who knew what was going to happen next. They both walked towards Imhotep and took his hand.
"No." said Rick, as he quickly pulled out his gun and pointed it at Imhotep. Isabella quickly turned around and said, "Rick, don't. He has to take us to Hamunaptra to perform the ritual."
Ardeth tried to push Rick's arm down and was struggling to do so. "She's right. Live today, fight tomorrow." said Ardeth.
"Please." whispered Isabella as she looked at Rick with tears in her eyes as he put his gun down, hesitantly.
Rick looked at Imhotep, who had a smirk on his face. "I'll be seeing you again." Rick said to him, angrliy.
Imhotep started to walk away with the two sisters and Isabella was still looking at Rick and her tears were now running down her face. Isabella finally looked away when Rick tried to go after them and also tried to get out of Ardeth's grip.
"Isabella!"
Beni grabbed the key from Jonathan's pocket as Jonathan said, "Hey, that's mine."
"Thank you." said Beni, as he walked away from him.
"Kill them all!" yelled Imhotep, while Isabella and Evelyn tried to get out of the grip he had on them and they started to yell.
"No! Let go of me! Rick! Jonathan!" yelled Isabella.
"Let us go!" yelled Evelyn who was quiet during the previous thing that happened. Isabella was still struggling when Beni quickly followed them.
'Get your hands off me! Rick!" Isabella yelled again, as more tears started to fall down quickly. Evelyn kept yelling and continued to struggle when Isabella finally stopped struggling.
This was probably might be the last time she will see her brother again.. The last time she see Rick. Isabella didn't want to die this way, but she didn't have any other choice. There wasn't any more choices left for her to choose from.
She loved Rick. And did she know, he loved her back.
