A.N: I want to say thank you to everyone who took the time to read my story. I know I haven't been updating lately and I'm sorry for that! But I will update whenever I can.
She actually kept me.
Angus fiddled with the mashed potatoes on his plate. After Enya made her decision, the two remaining clans sat in the great hall to eat supper. The clans talked amongst themselves and Angus saw two men from his clan pass out. Too much to drink perhaps. He sighed and shook his head. He watched as the room cleared and he assumed everyone went to bed. It was late after all.
Wait… He blinked. They must sleep here in the castle. It's able to hold two clans…no four. He looked up at the ceiling then at the windows on each side of the room.
How fucking big is this castle?

Torrance was surprised. Not that she kept him but that she kept Angus. Was he jealous? It's possible; they were fighting for Enya's hand in marriage. Torrance shook his head. Of him? Please.
Torrance stood as the Great Hall was slowly being cleared. He yawned. Time for bed I guess. He glanced over at the Munro's clan table to see Angus sitting there alone. He was the only remaining one from his clan left.
And so was he.
You know what. Torrance began walking to Angus' table. I'm going to be mature about this. I can't stop thinking like this. When he reached the table, he smiled. "Hi Angus."
Angus looked up at Torrance. "Hey."
Torrance fell silent. There was something off about him. His pride wasn't there, that irritating smug wasn't there either. He just looked…sad.
"What is it?" Angus asked, snapping Torrance out of his daze.
Oh, there it was.
"I'm trying to eat here."
That smug look.
Torrance must have been seeing things.
"Anyways, Angus. I just wanted to say sorry for acting immature earlier. I shouldn't act like that. We are both adults-"
"-technically…-"
"-and we should act like that. We're both here for Enya's heart." Torrance held his hand out to Angus to shake. "May the best man win."
Angus smirked and stood. "And that'll be me." He shook Torrance's hand firmly.
"We'll see about that." Torrance smirked back then he walked to his room.
Angus left his plate on the table and walked back to his room.
"Making friends are we?"
Angus stopped in his tracks.
Lord Maxwell stepped from the shadows and went over to his son.
"Father? What is it?"
"Angus, you didn't come here to make friends did you? You came here for the opportunity to marry the princess. I can't have you go around and be-friending the competition."
"Oh father, Torrance isn't much of a competition, is he?" He smirked.
Lord Maxwell clamped his son's shoulder. "That's my boy." He released his hand. "Now, get some sleep. There will be a task tomorrow. I believe it is the last one. And you have to win."
"Of course, father."
"No matter what." Lord Maxwell said in a low voice which scared Angus.
"…Yes….o-of course father. Good…night." Angus hurried to his room and shut the door.
He went to sit on his bed. I tried everything to make Enya uncomfortable and not want to choose me and she chooses. What's going on? Father must have done something. He knows I don't want to be here.
Angus shook his head and then fell asleep.
