Chapter X

"They're done!" Cory yelled as he brought an armful of blueprints into the spare workroom I borrowed for examining the Red X suit. "I made blue prints for all the weapons on the suit and the belt. Did you know that it runs on Xenothium? What was that hero thinking?"

"I know." I replied, not stopping what I was doing. "Do you think you could make a prototype that runs on my ectoplasm? It would be completely eco-friendly that way, and I'd be the only able to use the suit then." When I found out that Cory had gotten mechanics and engineering degrees at HIVE, it was practically a Godsend. I didn't have any idea how the Red X gear worked, but Cory could understand it instantly, and taught me.

"Of course I can! Don't you underestimate me, kid!" he scolded. "The suit needs more Xenothium to access some of the more complex features, but it seems to be designed to defeat the Titans with as little power as possible."

"I suppose that the first thing I need to do is find a device to locate Xenothium." The door opened and Tero stood in the entrance. "Oh, hey, Tero!"

"Hey, Danny. You look… good." We both looked away, blushing.

"Thanks." I pulled up the hood on the Red X suit and placed the signature mask over my face. "I went easy on them the last time. Let's see how those Titans react to me now."

Robin's PoV*****************************************

I paced back and forth in the living room, the events of what happened at HIVE yesterday echoing in my mind. Blood had called the figure 'Mr. Grayson'. A figure that could disappear and reappear at will. It had to be Danny. Why had he been at HIVE!? Didn't he know it was a villain school!?

'Maybe he didn't know.' I thought. 'If he was trying to get away from Phantom, then going to an adult meta, especially one he didn't know was evil and had a high position to protect him, would be logical. But what I don't understand is why he hasn't contacted us yet, and why Phantom is chasing him to begin with!'

As I slammed my fists onto the counter, the red lights of the alarms when off. "Titans, Trouble!"

It's simple.

There is good.

And there is evil.

There are those who commit crimes.

And those who stop them.

The two sides are opposite.

As different as day and night.

And the line between them is clear.

Or at least…

It's supposed to be.

Danny's PoV Time Skip*******************************************

I slammed the tube of Xenothium into the concrete between me and the Titans, causing the violent substance to explode. The explosion sent me flying back into open air and, using the clouds as coverage, transformed into Phantom. I glided through the sky, thinking back at my recent encounter with the Titans.

'It feels kinda nice to save someone again.' I thought as I soared. "Sort of like a reassurance that I won't turn into HIM. And it was kind of fun fighting with and against Robin. Maybe the Boy Blunder isn't so bad after all.

As I hovered in the air in thought, I shuttered as an ice blue wisp blew out of my mouth. Ghost. I went into a mid-air battle stance and my hand lit up with ecto energy. "Who's there!?"

"Beware!"

"Oh, shit." I sighed as I turned to see the immortal, blue moron called—

"It is I! The Box Ghost!" He yelled. "I have come to warn you, young phantom! Plasmius has put a warrant on your head in the Ghost Zone!"

I gripped the front of his overalls and placed my ecto charged hand near Boxy's face, glaring. "So, did you decide that since you have a weird ability to find and annoy me anywhere, I'd surrender? You should know me better, Boxy."

"NOOOOOOOOOOOO~! That is not what I mean at all, Phantom~!" Boxy switched over to his normal voice and scratched the back of his head in embarrassment. "I actually represent all the ghosts who support you by bringing this warning. There are quite a good number of them, mostly from when you defeated Pariah Dark. Many of these supporters have even taken to calling you names like 'The Great One' or 'Pariah's Bane'.

"Really?" I was surprised; most of the ghosts I'd known treated me no different after the fight with Pariah. My hand drifted from his face.

"Oh, yes. Your supporters have been most worried since the… event. My words should provide comfort to your allies." He quickly backpedalled as my fist approached his face again. "And your location shall never reach the ears of your enemies, I swear it!"

I released him, satisfied. "Good. Thank you, Box Ghost."

He looked visibly relieved. With one final "BEWARE!" Boxy flew away into the night.

?'s PoV**************************************************

I stared at the multipule screens in front of me. Each held a picture of the same boy—the boy who had defeated me, however indirectly. The boy had escaped the collapse; I was sure of it. However, there was no proof he was still alive, no sightings at all. I was about to give up hope. Could he really be…?

One of the computers beeped and brought up a more recent picture of the boy. I smirked. "Found you, Phantom."

The much wanted chapter. Who was the mysterious person at the end? Slade? Vlad? Someone that you haven't even thought of!? I DON'T EVEN KNOW!

As a side note, I'd like to say this: if you don't like this story's plot, or any important characters that I chose to put in this story (OCs or not), don't even fucking comment. You're wasting my time. If you blatantly say you hate my story, don't even fucking read this story.
