Twila's Pov

I noticed the change come over his expression and aura. He began the saying heard several times before. By his enemies and those who were traitors.

"Situation 'A' recognized release-" He was cut off by Integra's voice coming over the speakers. I turned off the stereo system.

"So again I have an announcement for the fallowing, Alucard, Pip, Seras, and Twila report to my office immediately."

Alucard, looked at me, I looked at him and we both shrugged. We headed out the door toward Integra's office. A cold feeling crept down my spine. 'Funny that usually only happens when.' I was suddenly flipped through the air landing on my back. Looking up I saw Alucard as he said.

"You never called times so we're still going. That makes five for me." I silently thought of ways to kick him to cause pain. I got up without making a sound, and I charged at him grabbing a mace from a suit of armor. I swung and hit him in the back of the knee. He went flipping head over heels through the air, landing on his stomach.

"Neither did you, and we're tied again." He growled at me. Probably thinking about ways to pay me back. I put the mace across my shoulders and strolled the rest of the way to the office. Dancing slightly with an odd gait just short of the door. I heard Alucard get up and then no sound. 'That, probably isn't good.' Suddenly I was in an arm-bar, on the ground, struggling futily against my captor. I looked up to see Walter walking over to us. He said in a commanding tone.

"Alucard let Miss Robinson up and get in here your the last ones to arrive. Might I be so bold as to ask what on earth happened to you two?" I looked at us we did look rather scruffy. Alucard looked worse though his shirt was untucked, hair looked in all honesty worse than normal, and he had an already forming shiner. I however had strangulation marks on my neck, hair was a little tangled, and a little blood had gotten past the bandages. All in all not the worst I had come out of a fight with, not the best either. I tripped over something and landed on my stomach. I looked over and Alucard was holding up seven fingers. Looking back to were I had tripped, I saw a shadow root. 'That sneaky over zealous ex-crumpet eating, blood sucking fiend. I shall repay him for that.' I thought with a renewed vigor. He. Was. Going. Down. I allowed myself to become one with the brain waves in the room. Picking up on the thoughts of my companions.

'What the HELL happened to them, they couldn't have gotten into that big of a fight just on the way here.' That would have to be Integra.

'Merde did SHE give HIM that shiner, remind me never to make her mad.' Pip.

'Master is fighting girls now, he must be getting desperate.' Only Seras would think that.

'I need to prepare dinner for the mercenaries and make sure they take Integra's news well. Good grief, the work of the weary is never done.' Definitely Walter.

'Man, she packs more of a punch than I expected. If she can take on me and be a good fight, why does she have trouble with Ghouls?' I answered without thinking.

"Because my powers are based on waves and currents." The people in the room with me gave me puzzled looks. All except Alucard who looked shocked.

"I only thought that. So how did you hear it?" I answered giving a bit more thought.

"Well, you see basically I can read any kind of Waves or Currents. Like the fact that I know Integra was wondering what happened to us. By the way we were sparring when you called. There's a bet on it and we're still going. Which is why Alucard had me in an arm-bar when Walter came and opened the door for us." They looked at me with blank expressions. Until Walter asked.

"Can you always hear them or is only when you want to." I thought for a moment.

"Well, to hear thoughts I have to tune in to you. If it is like Danger or Death or something like that I can feel it at times." I explained, stating after a moment.

"I can also send out waves like I can talk to a person telepathically." I got a seriously surprised look from Integra, Walter, and Pip.

"Now that you know a bit more about the residential hybrid, can we please have the announcement?" I asked as I stared at the rooms other occupants. I got a nod from Integra and Walter. Integra began to brief the other on their mission. She then turned to me.

"Twila once they return I need you to give the Vampires their evening meal." I nodded to Integra and Walter. Integra told me as if it was a last minute thought.

"And Make sure Seras actually eats hers." I nodded once more and we were dismissed. We got out the door, and the the end of the hallway.

Alucard then pushed me down. I landed on my butt, quite perturbed by the situation. He just made it all the worse by calling out over his shoulder as he went down the stairs.

"That makes eight to five." I growled at him and walked over to the railing sitting on it and sliding to the bottom. I asked him sweetly as possible.

"Getting a bit slow in our old age are we?" He grinned sweeping me up bridal style and dropped me on the floor. I rubbed my sore rump. If looks could kill he would be a black and red puddle by now. He held up nine fingers. I was livid at this point and did a crouching leg sweep and jumped onto his stomach bashing his head into the hard wood flooring. Growling out with the strikes.

"You. Will. Learn. To. Respect. Me. Or. Get. Your. Arse. Kicked. You. Bloody. Wanker." I stopped finally out of adrenaline and got off of the brute. He sat up with mirth in his eyes. 'Maybe I hit him harder than I thought.' I stood up and went to help him off the ground. He brushed my hand away, and just stood up. He laughed as he walked toward the kitchen. I forgot to be cautious, fallowing him to the kitchen and was duly rewarded for it. He swept my legs out from beneath me and straddle my legs. He grinned sharkily at me and said.

"I have just won and I will collect my prize soon enough." I looked at him as he got off me then extended his hand to me. I took it and he pulled me to my feet. I fixed me a glass of chocolate milk, with a bendy straw. He looked at me like I was adorable. I slowly gazed up to him and asked after swallowing.

"What is that look about?" He shrugged and asked me.

"What look are speaking of." I scowled at him.

"You know well as I know the constellations, what look." He made an 'oh that look' expression and stated.

"Oh, you speak of the look of adoration and admiration. Just thought you might have earned my respect." 'Okay I definitely hit him a little too hard.' Rising from the bar stool, I walked toward door. After leaving him alone I decided to draw for a bit. I went to my room and grabbed my drawing journal, and a few supplies. Heading out of my room and toward the roof I grabbed my I pod putting it on shuffle. Putting on the head-phones I strolled up the the roof and began to draw the sunset.

I zoned out completely and listened calmly to the song 'Angel With A Shot-Gun'. After a while I sang with the random songs until it got to one that was special to me. I focused on the colors in the sky. After I finished the picture I saw the time. 'They'll be returning soon.' I grabbed my supplies and dashed down the stairs. I reached the first floor just in time to see Seras walk by, and running to her basement room. I still had my Head-phones on so I didn't hear anything. I walked to the blood freezer, and got the vampires supper. Putting it in pails of ice I began my trip to deliver it.

I reached the bottom of the stairs and knocked on Seras' door.

"Come in." She spoke meekly. I came in and set her meal down and waited. She if anything moved farther from it. I got impatient and decided to take action. I grabbed the blood pack and tackled her. Sitting on her arms I forced her to drink it. She swallowed the thick red fluid down.

"Good Seras just finish it and we can stop this." She chugged it so fast she didn't taste it. I slowly got off her and put the empty bag in the trash with shaking hands.

"Thank you Twila you've saved me another lecture." I nodded and gabbed the other one. Standing up I was truly dreading this. Taking it to the end of the long, dark hallway. I lifted my hand to knock on the door but it opened before my hand connected with it. I looked up slightly to see Alucard looking predatory as ever.

"Ah the Song Bird has brought me blood. Did Seras actually drink it, or are you going to cover for her?" He opened the door and gestured for me to enter. I warily did so. He took the blood and downed it. He turned to me tossing the empty package away. Speaking in a hushed tone, as he looked into my eyes. My energy drained substantially I was so tired, so weak.

"I have weakened you to this point so you can't hurt yourself. I hate to tell you this but Ian didn't make it out." I couldn't process what he was telling me. The only person that was still alive from my adoptive family was gone? 'Ian is gone, never to be seen till I die.' A tear rolled down my face. 'Sure he wasn't blood but I considered him family. Just like I considered my team my family. Even most of them died though, maybe I should have died.' He held me close as the tears began to run freely down my face. I noticed in a vague manner that Seras had come in.

Alucard's Pov

Seras came in asking.

"Did you tell her?" I nodded to her as Twila's tears soaked my shirt. I tried to sooth her to no avail. Looking over her rapidly darkening hair I told Police Girl. Lowering her and myself to the floor.

"Go tell my Master what happened she is far better equipped to deal with this." Seras dashed off and soon Walter and Integra both came rushing in. Integra asked in a calm voice.

"How did it happen?" I told her about it.

"We were preoccupied dealing with the situation and he got over whelmed by ghouls. Got to hand it to him he might have been a were but he did go out in style. He used a Vaulken Machine gun." Walter's mouth dropped and Integra stared wide eyed. She then ordered me.

"Take he upstairs to her room. Make sure she can't hurt herself." I nodded picking her up. I walked to he room, phasing there would have made it all the worse. She murmured as she passed out crying.

"No, not again...I can't stand losing my family again..." She stopped, I tried to keep her talking. She was out, I came to her door and opened it with my shadows. I put her things down on her night stand. Deciding to stay with her for a while I picked up one of her drawing journals.

Opening it I saw on the first page a picture of a wilted flower. It had no color but the shading was at a professional level. I turned to the next page and found a memory of hers. There was a lot of red and black but the forms for easy to see. It was the night her parents had been killed. Turning the page I saw a stary night sky with a cloud over the moon, there wasn't any color in this one either.

The next few pages were all sad memories. Then there was a picture of a familiar mountain range. Looking at it I saw the snow covered peaks, and gray blue slopes. I looked at the next pictures. They were all different types of flowers. The last picture in this book was a rose.

I set that one down and picked up the next one. The first one was a picture of a raven, with part of the poem 'The Raven' By Edgar Allen Poe. It was:

'On a midnight dreary as I pondered weak and weary.'

It was amazingly detailed with the eye appearing to glint. I continued on there was a picture of a faris wheel. Then there was a Tiger on another page. The colors came out vividly. The section of another poem was here:

'Tiger, Tiger, burning bight.'

I would have to tell Walter there was another Poetry lover in Hellsing. The next was a picture of a Celtic cross with vines wrapping around it. I continued with a new found interest in the Song Bird. The next was a dragon with intricate scale work and this one was colored it had all copper and red colors in the scales. The eyes were a dark emerald green.

I turned the page and found a drawing of a team of teenagers. I recognized two. There was Frost and Twila, the others were a complete mystery to me. On the back of this one it gave a list of the names. Each of the peoples skill and whether or not they were deceased. I was truly shocked the only ones still alive were Frost, Twila, and a girl named Christaina. Who apparently was an alchemist. There where ten people in the picture. I chuckled slightly apparently Frost's first name of Jackson. She had put beside it. (A.K.A Jack or Frost)

I turned to the next page where there was a drawing of a large family the same as her team there was the listings on the back. My eyes widened substantially as I realized Ian was the last one that was alive besides her. He was her guardian. Her last family was dead. I turned the page and I saw a picture of a field of grass with stars above it.

The next drawing was of a light house in a storm. It was on a cliff. The waves if you looked at them too long seemed to move. Next was a picture of a girl bleeding on a side walk in the rain. above it it said:

'I'm bleeding out, I'm bleeding out for you.'

Continuing I saw a near photographic picture of a black grand piano. I wondered quietly if she could play instruments. The next was a cartoon of a vampire with a cape. I chuckled a little. 'Apparently she does have a sense of humor.' The last one in this one was a purple Iris. I sat this one on the other and continued on down the line of her journals. She had about ten of them and there was one on her desk. I finished all ten of the full ones and looked at her unfinished one. I opened it and there was a very realistic drawing of a human heart above it was the snippet:

'And it was the beating of his terrible heart.'

There wasn't any color to this one. I went forward with my gazing. The next was a dog with black fur and red eyes. It resembled Baskerville in it's own way. I continued past some more flowers and a picture of Integra sitting behind her desk. I saw a Sunset with a a tree line of forest green color. The sunset was all different colors dark blue to a light orangey yellow. I looked at the corner and saw today's date. I looked back at all of them each one had the date it was drawn. The one of Integra was from last week. I set the book down on top of the stack. Making sure she would sleep for a few more hours I phased myself and the books to my Master's office. I set them down and pointing I said.

"Master you have to look at these I found them in Twila's room. Walter your going to be thrilled." I held the first and second out to him. He took them gingerly and opened up one of them. I saw on the spine it had the number one on it. His eyes widened.

"Did she draw these." I nodded and said exidedly.

"Yes, they're all hand drawn and if you look and the bottom right hand corner there is the date and her signature." He smile and continued to look through them. He stopped when he got to the portraits. He looked at the names and the records on both of them. His face fell stormy as he saw that Ian was her last guardian. Integra held out the eleventh, and showed him the date on the last one. The sunset, his eyes were saddened. He showed her her family tracking. Her face went sharp. Grabbing the phone, she called a round table conference.

***Time Skip***

I could hear Intagra screaming from in the basement.

"I don't care if she's an orphan I'll adopt her if I have to!" I raised an eyebrow at her latest statement. Twila as Integra's heir would be interesting but difficult. I rose and phased to the conference room. Saying as I arrived.

"You know Master there is an easier way to keep her here. You could just foster her, or have Walter adopt the child." Her eyes were cold and calculating.

"Of course thank you servant. Walter would you be willing to adopt Twila." He looked at Integra and nodded smiling, he said.

"Why on earth would I not she's intelligent, well mannered, and she is a wonderful person for company." She handed him the paper work for adoption and within thirty minutes he was done. He handed her the papers then she handed them to the others.

"We'll have them approved by the Queen by morning." We all agreed that we would work hard to keep her a secret from our major enemies. Walter was going to train her in wires. I was taking guns, and any swords Integra didn't know everything about. Integra was taking fencing and sword combat. The Song Bird was still under heavy sedation.

Walter's Pov

I couldn't shake the happiness from having a daughter. An intelligent one at that. I was trilled, Twila was still asleep but she was my daughter. We would begin her training when she awoke. Probably in a few minutes but I was ecstatic, light as a feather as I helped train the troops. Seras was so happy that Twila was staying I had to be wary of her vampire strength.

Pip asked if the rumor was true and I just smiled and nodded. He was happy for me too. Alucard was hard to figure out. I was worried about her now. Alucard spent most of his spare time watching over her. I just had to trust my old friend not to hurt her. I smiled at the thought of her slicing him in half with wires.

***Meanwhile***

Alucard's Pov

I looked at the lovely Song Bird. She breathed softly as she slept. Gazing at her I saw her short nose snuggle up against a pillow. I walked over and tried to shake her awake. She rolled over swinging and clocked me in the nose, breaking it neatly.

"Great I come here to tell you Walter adopted you and you sock me in the face." I walked out and headed to to the kitchen with Walter. Entering the room and flopping into a bar stool. He turned and chuckled at my appearance. He asked after a moment.

"Did she clock you." I nodded, and sat down. He walked over and took a towel. Holding it against my nose he snapped it back in place. I screamed out a few curses. Pip came running in and exclaimed.

"Mon due, who did that?" I pointed in the direction of Twila's room, and told him.

"The Song Bird packs a punch. I tried to wake her up." He stepped back and made an excuse running back to the barracks. I thought as my nose stopped bleeding. 'If they gave her a regular sedative she should be awake by now.' Asking out loud the question I pondered. Walter turned and said.

"You are right, I'll go see what they used." He left me standing there. Moments later he was rushing into Integra's office exclaiming loudly.

"Sir Integra they used a potion by accident and Twila wont arise. She breaths and if shaken moves but that's it." Integra rose to her feet and speed walking to the bed chamber of the resting one. I phased to their location, my nose still bruised. She looked at me then pointed at Twila. Nodding to her, she began to look her over. She looked up and said in a horrified voice.

"It appears they gave her a potion." 'Stating the obvious aren't we.' I said in annoyance at the situation.

"Well unless you have a prince laying around some where you should call the Queen." Integra frowned saddly, saying.

"Walter, your not going to like this but Alucard is a Romanian Royal." His mouth fell open and I raised an eye brow at them. He began to reject it.

"No, no, she's my daughter I can't allow him to. It's just to horrible to imagine." I just shrugged, in a bored tone saying.

"I didn't plan on helping Angel of Death." He glarred, that was a painful jab and a shove at his ego. He was angry now. It seemed I was the only one thinking today.

"Wouldn't a noble work just as well, or a Knight." He scolwed grumbling.

"No offense but I'd rather have Pip kiss her then any of the listed." I waved my hand saying annoyed.

"Is he a royal?" Walter exclaimed.

"Well, no-" I cut him off smoothly.

"Well then it would be improbable to have him try. Besides we don't even know if that's how to break the spell in the potion." They exchanged looks and nodded in agreement.

"Your right we don't so you'll try to research it. I have to go cancel my date with Connor" We all headed in different directions. Walter to the information room. Integra her office, and me the basement.
