Chapter 10 - Believe in yourself

Hi, guys and gals. I have an excuse as to why I took so long. The hard drive thingie in my laptop has gone kapoof. So, if like me you live on your laptop, KEEP AWAY FROM THE BATHROOM. I know, common sense but I never thought. Now I'm using my stepdad's and won't be able to go on until midnight and beyond, so sorry XD

Just so you guys know, I have a poll on my profile. It's got nothing to do with this story but I know some people read my other stories. So if you could check that out I'd be grateful :)
Anyway, here's chapter 10 for you all CX

Tails felt a little strange, he wasn't used to holding his head high and feeling so bold. He liked it and he could definitely get used to it, although he doubted he would be able to stay so light for long. Tails stayed off school for the rest of the week, tinkering with his new workshop. He loved being able to spend hours building and dismantling gadgets- he even managed to fix his mum's music box.

Melissa came round everyday to help. Tails enjoyed the company. Melissa could tell he had a new attitude, she was thrilled to finally have him out of his shell. She only hoped it would stay that way.

"Hey, Mil- uh Tails," she stammered.
Tails smiled with a giggle, "You're never going to get used to that, are you?"
"Nope, I'm used to calling you Miles. I'll get the hang of it," she grinned.

Tails picked a little wind up toy up from one of the benches, he wound it up and sent it to Melissa. The little duck waddled over Melissa. It stopped just before it fell off the table. She laughed and wound it up again, sending it back to Tails.

The two continued to do this as they spoke.
"Y'know, Tails. Mr Parker wants you on the basketball team. I'm on it with Noah and the guys, what do you say to joining?"
Tails wasn't sure. He didn't feel he was that good at basketball.
I must be okay though, I mean if Mr Parker wants me on the team. It's either that or he feels sorry for me, He thought.

"I. I don't know... Do you think I'm good enough? I don't want to look silly; I'm better with machines."
"Miles, Mr Parker is really picky. You are really good, we'll keep an eye on you but I honestly think you'll be fine," Melissa replied.
"You called me Miles again," Tails giggled.

Melissa brought her hand up to her face and sighed, "I'm never going to get used to that... Anyway, come on, can you come to one basketball match, just one?"
Tails bit his lip and thought hard. "Alright, I'll see what it's like," he said slowly.

In all honesty, Tails was looking forward to it, but that didn't mean his old habits of hiding away would not shine through. No, I'm going to do this. No backing out now, you can do this...

So yeah.. Short, but I needed to show my face. I also ad an idea earlier this year and my friend, Jo the Hedgehog. Some people, like moi, listen to music to overcome bullying. You'd be surprised how much it can help, sometimes you can sing it all out in a rock song (I admit to doing this with no shame XD) Or you can take a deep breath and sing a bit of country (something I also admit to doing).

Funny story about that actually. My bully deliberately sat on a sidewards seat near me and stared at me. I had my music on and a song called 'every storm (runs out of rain)' by Gary Allan came on, at least I think that's his name, anyway. The Lyrics helped me to just look back and continue my conversation with my friend.

It got me thinking, do you guys listen to music as a support for bullying? If you do, are there any kinds in particular you like? How helpful are they to you? Personally I like a bit of Bon Jovi, but what about you ?
