Hi guys! I have decided that I will be continuing Cursed, and Discontinuing Shade Secrets. I may go back to it later, but for now I am taking a break from my other stories to work on Cursed. Also, ignore anything that happens in Shade Secrets, because they will be changed in this story. Enjoy!
Icegaze's dreams were haunted. Filled with cats fighting. "Make it stop!" She wailed.
A bright light shone, making the entire battle cease. "Hello, Icegaze". Meowed a black tabby she-cat with brilliant violet eyes. "My name is Fallendust. I am here to deliver you a prophecy".
Icegaze sat, trying to catch her breath. "A price to be paid, by the ever silent shade, shall become the beating heart of the river, only ice can create a walking path to the other side" Icegaze shook her head. "It is about Shadekit, isn't it?" she murmured, thinking of the soon-to-be apprentice. "It is terrible. It seems as if it was just yesterday she needed my milk, and now only a moon before she is to be apprenticed".
Fallendust shook her head helplessly. "More kits are closer than you think, StarClan can give second chances". Icegaze opened her mouth to question her, but she disappeared before she could blink. I just had Shadekit… I couldn't be having more already! Then she heard a voice in her head not yet… But when Shadekit is apprenticed, that is what she means.
"Shadepaw! Shadepaw!" Sootblizzard twined tails with Icegaze as Shadepaw touched noses to Burningstar, who had decided to mentor the calico cat personally.
She remembered her conversation with Fallendust, and hurried out of camp to tell Sootblizzard. She had confirmed with jungleflame and Secretheart that she was pregnant, but was still worried that Sootblizzard would react badly.
Sitting down, she explained how Fallendust had visited her, and how she said that StarClan would give her more kits once Shadepaw was apprenticed. Sootblizzard stared at her wide-eyed. "We get more kits! When are they due?" he squeaked like a kit.
Icegaze chuckled "I don't know, but I will tell you when I find out".
Sootblizzard frowned. "Do you hear that?' Icegaze turned in the direction her mate was pointing at. She heard it. The screech of a cat, and then silence. She said nothing, just ran, leaving Sootblizzard calling her name.
Burningstar lay on the ground, blood oozing out of her head. Streamfur was dragging an unconscious Shadepaw through the water, to RiverClan. "Streamfur! Stop!" She snarled.
Streamfur turned. "Sorry, but rules are rules" she said through Shadepaw's fur. "Troutstar said before he died, a prophecy, something about your daughter not belonging. Oh, and it's Streamstar now. Shadepaw will remember nothing, and neither will you. StarClan said so" she flicked her tail, and Birchwing leaped out of the reeds, slamming hard into Icegaze's head. The last thing she saw was Shadepaw's calico fur.
Her head spun as she awoke three moons later. "What happened?" She squeaked like a kit.
She couldn't remember anything, and all she saw was Sootblizzard staring at her.
Jungleflame shrugged. "We don't know, we just found you by the riverbank".
"How long have I been out?"
Jungleflame and Secretpaw exchanged an uneasy glance.
"Three moons. We didn't know if you were going to make it".
Icegaze got to her paws, which were stiff and sore.
She said nothing, but padded away. She had to leave. So she made her way into the forest, which was soft and welcoming.
She didn't know how long she had walked when she finally came to rest at a patch of sunlight, and sprawled herself out on it.
Icegaze lay there, listening to the sounds of the forest, the song of birds, the dance of clouds.
A sudden crack from the bushes started her, and she shot up to glance around.
A black and blonde she-cat with yellow eyes and shaggy gray patches padded out of the bushes, in her jaws, two kits, pure black.
"Hello, Icegaze" she meowed, dropping the kits, which must be a day or two old.
"My name is Whisper. I need you to take these two back to NightClan".
Icegaze stood there in shock. "H-how do you know my n-name?" she studdered, shaking in fear.
Whisper met her eyes. "Oh, Icegaze, you don't know?"
She didn't move.
"I am surprised no cat told you".
"T-told me w-what?"
Whispers bright yellow eyes filled with sorrow. "I am your sister".
