Hola, my lovely reviewers, readers, followers and friends.
I present to you another chapter of this wonderful, according to me and maybe you, story.
When you are caught in a lie, and you've got nothing to hide
when you've got nowhere to run, and you've got nothing inside
it tears right through me, you thought that you knew me, you thought that you knew…
I'm not perfect but I keep trying, because that's what I said I would do from the start.
I'm not alive, if I'm lonely. Was it something I said or just my personality?
I'm not PERFECT, but I keep trying…
BRICK
"Boomer, maybe she was a ghost." Bubbles said spinning around.
"Bubbles, that is a great thought and all but keep your arm straight, you are poor in offence." The said boy sighed holding the blonde's arm straight so that the sword was like an extended part of her arm.
"But Boomer, I am telling you that she could've been a spirit." She whined. "Bubs, for the last time Lavender wasn't a spirit, we touched her hand and as far as I know spirits pass through humans. I know people don't just vanish in thin air but can we stop mulling over that and concentrate."
"But Boomer…" she trailed off. "CONCENTRATE!" he yelled and she huffed.
I looked past the two arguing teens to the pair who were the most amusing to watch. "Harder, Buttercup, Harder." Butch stressed holding his hands out to receive yet another kick from the ferocious girl. "Shut your trap, I am doing it."
"You are still too slow. Make your reflexes faster, kitty." Butch mocked and her anger flamed.
"Call me that again and I'll kick your ass to the moon." She warned and kicked him, making him back away.
"Aw kitty, kitty, are you angry?"
"You are a dead man." She growled and kicked faster, higher, and harder. I laughed mentally Butch knew exactly how to press her buttons to get his way with the girl. She pushed him back into a tree and kicked him but Butch kept up with her, blocking her every attack.
When he was satisfied he caught hold of her leg before it could hit his face and pushed her into a tree. "Well done kitty cat, you were quite up to the mark." He smirked and praised her. "Wait, what?" she asked confused and Butch laughed before throwing his own volley of kicks which Buttercup blocked.
"OW." I muttered. "Will you stop doing that Pinky? It hurts."
"Yeah right, I so believe that. Now concentrate." She ordered continuing to count. "Seventy nine, Eighty, Eighty one…."
Sweat trickled down my face and arms as I continued my workouts which were fun. Well at least for Pinky they were fun. She told me to start with pushups and suddenly the great mind of hers had an amazing idea that my strength would be tested when she would sit on my back, sun bathing, eating candies and reading some book, while I did all the hard work.
Real fun, you see. "Tie your hair, Pink, they are bothering and tickling me."
She smacked me once again and mumbled something through a mouth full of candy. "And would you care to tell me why you are tracing my tattoo?" I questioned.
"It's nice and makes you look even hotter." She remarked offhandedly and I smirked. I could feel her freeze and from my peripherals saw her eyes widen realizing what she had said. "So I am hot, huh babe?" she traced my spine and said in a sultry voice "Hot as hell." I laughed and increased my speed, Blossom wasn't too heavy. "You are a Devil my darling." She whispered in my ear, so low and seductively that I lost control.
I sputtered and face planted the dusty forest floor. Blossom laughed and stated joyfully "And that was a one hundred and ninety nine. Brick you'll lose to your lovely Princess" she spat "if you get distracted so easily by mere words."
Mere words, huh Blossom. I regained my control and pushed the darkness away that was threatening to take over, rising to my feet, making the red haired girl fall.
"I am hungry." I muttered dusting myself off and pulled Pinky to her feet. She glared at me and stuffed my face with some candy, after which she stalked away. I sighed and followed, what is it with girls these days?
BOOMER
"Where are we going, again?" I asked.
"To our Kingdom." Buttercup snapped.
"Why?"
"To restock and freshen up." Bubbles sighed.
"But we aren't allowed there."
"So?" Butch shrugged.
"So, we would be butchered on the spot."
"Good point but I don't see you coming up with anything better." Blossom uttered.
"Geez, calm down your nerves Pink." I raised my hands in defense when she turned her icy glare at me. We walked through the forest for long and tiring hours but did not give up. The girls looked like they knew where they were heading but I knew better, because I swear I've seen that tree five times already.
Occasionally someone would try for a small talk but then fail miserably so we just continued to walk in silence. I helped Bubbles over some particularly large tree roots so that she did not trip and fall. Buttercup rudely pushed Butch away while Blossom was careful not to accept Brick's help.
Suddenly something growled and thundered causing Buttercup to jump and hit her head against a low tree branch. Butch laughed and she muttered a string of curses that would even put Brick to shame.
"Language, Buttercup." Blossom reprimanded.
"Butterflies, rainbows and bunnies." She yelled holding her head where a bump was forming.
Again something rumbled and growled so this time I asked "What was that?"
"Butch we just ate an hour ago so tell your tummy to shut up." Buttercup retorted.
"Okay two things. One, that was not me and two, how can I tell my 'tummy' to shut up?" he raised an eyebrow in question.
"Well then if it wasn't you, then who was it?" she asked testily.
"It's about to rain sis." Bubbles pointed up to the darkening sky. Wait a minute this did not look like normal at all. An angry wind stirred up ghostly dust devils as we reached a clearing. Dark-bellied clouds scudded across the night sky and were now veiling the stars in casket grey.
Something growled again and I am definitely sure that it wasn't the clouds that loomed above, a clear signal of heavy downpour. We unsheathed our weapons, better to be prepared than be sorry later. Thunder cracked the sky and lightening blinded us momentarily. I shielded my eyes but through the flash of light, caught sight of six human figures, all with skin as white as sheet and clothes that merged into the night.
When I reopened my eyes they were a lot closer than before but still far away. I heard Bubbles gasp and a sharp intake of breaths from the other two sisters as they analyzed the three girls and three boys who stood there with sharp postures, wide smirks, and immaculate bright red eyes.
"I... I... It can't be." Bubbles stammered.
"I swear these boys would never leave us alone." Buttercup grumbled and Butch commented "Your 'fiancé' again, babe?"
She shook her head and replied "No, Bubbles'. Not mine." I spun around to face her with a shocked expression, after all I did not believe that even Bubbles had a fiancé and even if she did, she should have told me about him.
"Which one?" I scowled. "Brown hair." She pointed to the boy who stood in the center with his arms crossed over his chest, blood red eyes gazing at the blonde beauty with hunger, and his fangs shining like they were polished so hard that a person could see his face in it.
"Well, well, well, look who is here." He said and threw his arms in the air joyously. "Bubbles, sweetheart long time no see. I looked for you all over the world and here you are roaming around with some filthy boy toys." My eyes widened and I gazed at Bubbles' shocked expression.
"Mitch, um they are my, uh friends." She stuttered and fiddled with her fingers nervously like she was afraid that she was caught doing something wrong. "Aw, that is so sweet of you honey. I hope you already had your fill in the bachelorette party" he motioned to us "because after this you are all mine." He wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.
Bubbles laughed nervously and opened her mouth to speak but Mitch cut her off "You always loved to play with boys like them, did you not my little frolicker. How many have you dumped already, hm, like two per month or maybe it was a week?" he licked his lips as he walked closer, the parade of his vampires following.
Bubbles turned to meet my cold gaze and flinched at my emotionless mask. In the years I spent with my mother, I had learnt enough on how to mask my emotions, but still I am a human, I feel pain and betrayal. I had trusted her with all my heart, hoping that she would keep my heart safe but I was wrong. I protected her, protected her smile, and protected my life hoping that maybe there would come along one fortunate day which would give me a chance, give us and our love a chance.
Oh wait, who am I kidding, she doesn't love me because if she did she would not have hidden this from me. I am just another one of her, what did Mitch say, ah boy toys, I am just another one of her boy toys.
"How dare you?" Buttercup launched herself at Mitch and in an instant a silver haired girl zipped over to her and caught her by the hand. That was all it needed for the rest of us to act up. Butch rushed to the green eyed girl's aid and slashed at the vampire's arm making her hiss in pain and release Buttercup.
Brick tackled a couple where he had the upper hand, as the girl seemed to be new to all of this and the boy too obsessed with the girl to maintain focus on their attacker. Blossom was engaged in a fierce battle with the girl who had hair as long as Rapunzel. I wanted to go to Bubbles who still looked like she was in a shock but I ignored her and went straight for Mitch.
"Ah, ah not so fast man." A Goth vampire tackled me to the floor. I slashed but he dodged too quickly. I noticed one thing about this guy after battling with him for ten minutes; he would block all my blows but avoid anything that I aimed at his heart.
"I am not your enemy Blondie." He punched me and I staggered back "Yeah I can see that very well." I spat blood and continued slashing at him. "No really, we vampires are not loyal creatures."
"Good to know." Kick, stab, punch, duck "We believe in self preservation more than anything." Stab, grab, twist, punch "I am attacking you because you threaten me. Make your friends stop and I'll lead my group away." I dodged his kick and got the feeling that he was purposely making it easier for me. "And why would I believe you?" I snapped and he shrugged continuing to try to kill me.
"Trust no one Boomer. You are my precious little boy and too innocent to understand the darkness of this world." My mother ruffled my hair before I left for my first hunt.
"Mother, I am brave like Brick and strong like Butch, you see I'll prove it to you." She laughed as I flexed my arms trying to show off my nonexistent biceps.
"You are not Brick or Butch my dear. You are the one who keeps the two of them together. You are the one who mends and unites the group." She picked me up and pulled my cheeks.
"But that is no fun. I want to be like them." She hugged me and said "Be like no one Boomer, you are the Power and without Boomer, there would be no Brick or Butch."
The memory of the seven year old Boomer had faded but not the words. Recalling my mother's sweet voice and the words that meant the world to me, I now knew what I had to do. She knew I was soft at heart and more emotional than my brothers, but my emotions, determination and sheer will power made me powerful. I did not need to trust this guy; I had no reason to when I could just finish him off in one blow. Plus, I do not think trust is something I would do easily again.
I picked up a wooden branch that was sharp and all it took was a second, for the stake to be driven straight through his heart. I stood there for another moment gazing coldly at the grey dust at my feet, it was all that was left of him, and before the wind carried it away to god knows where.
BUBBLES
I did not see anything, feel anything, hear anything or speak anything. I just stood there motionless as the minutes passed and the battle around me raged on. I only saw Boomer, his shock, his betrayal, how he withdrew into himself, and his piercingly cold glare. The once bright royal blue of his eyes was now a dull stormy ocean of negative emotions.
The first time we had met I had a hundred questions swarming around my head. How could someone's eyes be so deep and hypnotizing, hands so gentle yet strong, smile so cheerful and brilliant, personality so perfect yet imperfect? And now all this did not matter because all I needed to do was find the answer to one single question. How could I break such a beautiful person?
It must be a sin to hurt someone who only made others happy, to break the trust of someone who is always caring and faithful, and most of all to shatter someone who had sacrificed his world for me. I was so deep in my thoughts that I did not see Mitch approach me until he brushed his lips with mine.
I pushed him back and glared at him. It was all his fault, had he not come, my life would have gone smoothly, I would still be prancing around and laughing with Boomer and no one would have to fight his companions for me. "What do want?"
"You." He purred.
"Go away, you have done enough." I cried as I took a step back to every step he took towards me. It was not long before I was backed into a tree and pinned by his arms so that I could not move an inch.
"How can I leave you baby, I love you so much, I want you so much." He said huskily.
"No Mitch, please do not do this. Call your friends back, do not hurt my friends and sisters please." I begged and he laughed maniacally. "Friends?" he spat on my face.
"Do not say that disgusting word again darling, it has no meaning to it." He growled.
"Why are you doing this?" tears slipped down my face and he frowned "Oh no, don't cry, I'll soon take you far away where there would be no one to disturb our peace." He rasped in my ear, my head swam at the stench of blood from his mouth and tears now flowed down faster.
"No one can save you from me Bubbles, not your sisters, not your friends and not your boyfriend." He whispered and attacked my mouth. I tried to struggle but it was fruitless, he bit my lower lip causing me to scream which was muffled due to his mouth and sucked on my blood, his hands pinning mine above my head. I was feeling light-headed and my vision blurred, partly with tears and partly due to weakness. He pulled back for a few seconds to admire his work and in that moment my eyes connected with Boomer's across the field.
Mustering all the strength I had left, I squeezed my eyes shut as the tears dripped down my chin and screamed at the top of my lungs.
"BOOMER" and even though I had tried for it to be strong, the scream came out as desperate cry of agony.
BLOSSOM
The broken scream from my sister, literally made me want to die of the torment she was feeling. My head snapped in her direction and I saw her faint against the tree as Mitch backed away and Boomer caught hold of him. Mitch threw Boomer off, 5 feet away and rushed for the trees with Butch following at his heels. I was glad that the jerk had left but all this while I made the mistake of forgetting about the vamp girl I was dealing with.
My distraction gave her a chance to land a strong blow to my stomach and I fell back on my butt clutching my stomach in pain. Hoping she did not hit anything major and gathering strength to fight her off, I looked up to find her face near my ankle. Her fangs were dripping with something pale green in color, something familiar. Oh shit, I thought as I realized it was the same venom that had once been on the dagger that hit me, and a lot of it.
She gave me a bone chilling smile and sank her fangs into my right ankle, piercing the skin easily and making me scream at the excruciating pain I felt. And as soon as the pain had come, it had gone. I reopened my watering eyes to find the girl's chest had a big and sharp stake through her heart. Her hair was pulled back by a strong hand and her jaw was torn open by another.
I was horrified at the sight before me; Buttercup who had driven the stake through her heart stumbled backward in shock at the display of such tempestuous and savage behavior by the always calm Brick. He still pulled the long hair back and further tore away the jaw of the already dead vampire which was now turning to dust. Buttercup helped me to my feet, supporting my weight and pulled me away from Brick but I ignored her and hopped to the prince on one leg.
The fiery mess of red hair dripped sweat as the boy panted and growled inhumanly. It terrified me to see the blood red eyes that had once been mesmerizing and fascinating were now a deeper and darker shade of red that reminded me of death. I wanted to cry, run and hide like a little girl but I cautiously took a step towards Brick.
His head snapped up and his eyes literally burned through my soul, fear coursed through my veins, and my heart almost stopped beating. "Brick, are you okay?" I asked wearily but closed the distance between us none the less.
His hands shot out and he grabbed hold of my limp leg. I almost fell down again but he caught me and bent down to examine my ankle. I waved Buttercup away and turned back to find Brick looking at my poisoned ankle with raving madness.
My mother used to say, a person's eyes are the windows to his soul, and if that is true then I could clearly see a battle raging inside Brick. His face would flicker with emotions and eyes constantly lighten to its normal color. It was like that subconscious state of his where he now realized what he had just done.
I moaned at his hot tongue ran across the two holes in my skin and soon I felt him bite me right where the vampire hand and suck the venom out. Call me crazy if you wish because I won't deny it myself. Pleasure was like drugs and when he sucked at my skin I felt the pleasure. He spat at the floor from time to time and I wished the poison in my body would never end.
My self control was wearing thin as I tried to contain my moans, after all it would be very disgraceful for a princess to express her pleasure in public. Within two minutes he stopped to look at me tired eyes and dropped my foot. I felt like groaning and throwing a tantrum right there because he had stopped but I wouldn't, he needed me more right now, right here.
Brick stumbled and I reflexively caught him. As we both fell to the ground on our knees I hugged him close, his body convulsed but he kept his head buried in my neck. I did not know what to do so I just stroked his head and patted his back, muttering soothing words of comfort.
Brick has a pure heart, so such barbaric actions would cause anyone to break down. It did not take long for him to fall asleep in my arms and I carefully placed his head in my lap. He looks so cute when he sleeps, I mused and mentally giggled. Stroking his face I admired his looks, how can God create such an exotic person with the most amazing personality, contagious attitude, radiant smile, exquisite eyes, hot temperament, ideal wisdom and the most angelic heart.
Wiping away his sweat I wondered about his behavior, warnings for me to stay away, the prophecy, our lustful moments and anything and everything that related to him.
I placed my lips on his forehead and thought about the emotion that had stood out in his internal turmoil, sadistic glee. I prayed to God that what I thought was absurd and wrong but still even as I closed my eyes and tried to sleep, the thought lingered, probing at my mind.
Was this really the first time that Brick committed a gruesome sin? Maybe! Maybe not!
Hope you guys enjoyed it. Please review and your ideas and suggestions are most welcome. I'll try to include all your ideas and make you happy and the story interesting.
And the most important thing, I know the story is not that far developed so it would be hard to judge. But do tell me if you want a sequel to it in maybe this or the next few chapters.
